When he's not tag-teaming with David Arquette, RJ must be reading anything he can get his hands on, because he literally knew about everything we threw at him! Beau Becraft joins us this week, and he's happy as a schoolboy on pizza day to be back with all the wrestling accolades of 1995! His first opponent Mancrush is still reeling from defeat and looks to right the ship with wrestling of 1989. Rounding out our contestants for this week, Marc James prepares to dismantle the competition with wrestling of 1981.  RJ City is ready to deliver a "Knee Arthur" to anyone who steps out of line, but did we give him a reason to? On this Dueling Decades, we once again look back at some of our favorite past episodes. This week we remember when Diane Franklin joined the show for the first time and determined who had a "not so excellent" decade! Diane Franklin, the beautiful Princess Elizabeth from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, John Cusack's muse in Better off Dead, and everyone's favorite "Karen" in Last American Virgin grabs the gavel and deliberates this "worst of" battle of the decades! Joe Findlay from Miscast Commentary came to battle with the worst of the first week of July 1986! Marc is looking for back-to-back victories with the most awful first week of July 1976 that he can muster. Mancrush is still looking for his first victory in over a month; so he delivers an inferior first week of July 1996 to get back on the winning path. Diane Franklin brings some brutal honesty to this episode of Dueling Decades! Aside from her unwavering judgments, she also tells us what her worst movie role ever was, what her favorite role was, the real reason why you watched Second Time Lucky, the worst Independence Day movie imaginable, the difference between east coasters and west coasters, invaders from another planet, the end of journalism, Bo Derek, Cannon Films rules no matter what, toys that are a step above coal, cooking with chemicals, a movie Disney wishes didn't exist, a "regular guy" heads to Hollywood, mysterious albums, don't touch Marc, fake coups, intergalactic failures, the price is wrong Bob, boring BBC shows, John McNamara screws Roger Clemens, filming awkward nude scenes, life after Mental Health, and who was the funniest man on the set of Better Off Dead? In this head-to-head Week Experience showdown, Mancrush steps up the plate with April 21st through the 27th of 1985 to face off against The Professor Drew Zackin. Drew comes prepared to drop the knowledge as he gears up with April 17th through the 23rd of 1994! As usual, we need someone to hold down law and order, so why not a 1980s & 1990s movie villain? That's right, who knows the law better than an outlaw?! This man trashes teenage house parties for fun, battles Mad Max in the apocalypse with assless chaps, kidnaps John Matrix's daughter, and gets cozy inside Martin Short's body! He had no limits, and he's here to decide which decade did it better. Welcome, the nicest bad guy we ever got to meet, Vernon Wells!    In this episode, we got all kinds of nostalgia that you didn't know, you didn't need to know. A huge company flinched to its competitor's advances, Dan Akyroyd sings with Willie Nelson, an iconic album gets a followup, Teri dresses like Elvis Costello, an ER doctor has sex with a spy, obscure TV shows down under, prostitutes unionize and become dangerous, a movie you probably don't remember, an album that changed the game, a bizarre concert pairing upsets teeny boppers, lots of videotapes, Peg Bundy, Madonna's a genius, Drew gives a history lesson, someone died, Drew gives another history lesson, Vernon didn't care, opinionated comedians, a janitor goes to the Tennessee State Penitentiary, Vernon drops all kinds of gems, and where the hell do rich people hang their paintings anyway? A hand-picked selection of some of our favorite episodes and moments here on everyone's favorite adults-only retro game show!   This episode was extra special to all of us on Dueling Decades because, like many of you, we spent our formative teen years watching Rhonda Shear on USA's UP All Night! Not only was Rhonda amazing, but she also introduced us to a whole new world of movies that we might never have seen. Had it not been for Rhonda and UP All Night, we might've never found the love for B-Movies that we have today! Our parents also thank Rhonda for being a free babysitter on Friday & Saturday nights as we sat there until the wee hours of the morning watching Reform School Girls and Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death, much appreciated! Sit back, relax, and re-live some of the best B-Movies had to offer. The incredible Robert Tepper returns to share some more rock n' roll stories and decide what year had the best September 1975, 1985, or 1995! Robert is one of our favorite judges here on the show and after this rock n' roll rollercoaster of an episode, we know he will be yours as well! Marc James is so excited for his picks this week he is shivering with antici…..pation! Hopefully, the best offerings from September 1975 won't let him down. We are not sure if the real Mancrush showed up to compete this week or if it was just an imposter but either way give him a roll of duct tape, a safety pin, and the best picks from September 1985 and he might just win this battle! Meanwhile, The Media King of the North Joe Findlay really wants to know what's in the box and if the best of September 1995 will lead him to victory this week! Do you agree with Robert's rulings? Welcome back, everyone! We've got a special "worst of" edition for you this week. Since Mike Ranger is still serving his indefinite suspension (more details on the episode), we found someone new to fill in his rotation spot. This week, we're joined by his replacement, Chucky Ballzak! This is Chucky's first time competing, but he's a veteran of the game and how this retro ruckus is played! With that being said, Chucky went back and dug up the least promising things August 1987 had to offer. On the latter end of the competitive bracket, Marc James frosts his tips and delivers a poop sandwich that you'd only be able to find in August 1998. Last up, putting his winning streak on the line, Mancrush rocks a shimmery leisure suit and comes to party with the worst of August 1977! Do you agree with Joe's rulings? Need more? Finally, rounding out the competition, the man voted most likely to not wear JNCOs, Mancrush delivers the worst of May 1999! Stick around after the competition for a campfire chat with Brendan, AND a live rendition of "Teenage Dirtbag" that will give you chills. In this episode, you might hear something about dirty judges, a boat that should have sank, young republicans that Brendan doesn't buy, Marvel tries again, a ship that DOES sink, models taking dumps, Jim West is not a rapper, 28-minute songs, sweaty cocaine music, television murders, assassinations and riots, the tale of the hero sausage, an operation you never played, Japanese stuff, worthless toys that caused a commotion, and just what is the story behind Teenage Dirtbag anyway?! Welcome back, Duelers! We're back to deliver some more nostalgia for this week, and we brought another special guest judge along with us. Mancrush has spoken ad nauseam about not having time to read books and his massive Audible book collection. Well, after listening to the book "Rock Bottom at the Renaissance: An Emo Kid's Journey Through Falling In and Out of Love In and With New York City", he was so blown away, he asked the author to come on the show! And since May is Mental Awareness month, his invitation made a lot of sense. All rise for an author, and Emmy Award-winning producer, Mike Henneberger! Now let's take a look at the contestants and the decades they will be fighting for. First up, going back to before he was even a glimmer in his father's eye, Drew Zakmin delivers his best mid-month week from May of 1976. His first opponent, coming off a surprising victory last week, Mancrush brings the best of his week in May of 1995. And rounding out the competition, Marc James heads back to childhood with his best week experience of May 1988. Stick around after the game, and listen to Mike Henneberger talk about his fantastic book! 50% of the proceeds from this book will be donated to MusiCares to help out-of-work music industry crew members, so please check it out. I promise it's a fantastic read (or listen to the amazing Tyler Posey narrated version)! But, in this particular episode, you may hear something about: Ninety dollar VHS tapes, comedians on couches, the legend of Dick Pole, Drew gives us all intestinal problems, Vagisil ads, Jack Forrest cheats on his wife, Slash rides a banana bike with a top hat, Kirby's Silver Surfer is the only true Silver Surfer, living your life a quarter-mile at a time 70s edition, award ceremonies, mic drop moments in history, Mike Tyson is a generous dude, boring political stuff, Mary Jane enjoys it hard and fast, he wants your girlfriend to be his girlfriend too, philanthropy, Ambien, and did I mention Vagisil? We're back with a special episode of Dueling Decades! It's one thing to ask one of our celebrity guest judges to part with an hour or two of their lives to deal with the Dueling Decades crew. Trust us, that in itself is a serious undertaking. When Monster Squad's Andre Gower joined Dueling Decades back in November as a guest judge, he told the crew he wanted to come back to play the game. Andre wasn't just being polite, he ACTUALLY showed up to compete! With that, Andre brushed up on the Dewey decimal system, dusted off his encyclopedia Britannicas, and brought the very best he could muster, from April 1986! Coming off a crushing loss last week, Mancrush looks to rebound with his second offering of April 1993. Rounding out the competition, holding up a peace sign, and smoking a doobie, Marc James is back with a righteous April of 1977. Oh wow, I forgot to tell you who the judge was! Our good friend from the Great White North, the future producer of the show, Joe Findlay steps behind the bench, and does an amazing job! Important info to unpack here! No show next week! Matter of fact, he loves them so much, he started his own synth-pop solo project that's just dripping with nostalgia! So deciding which decade was the pits was really difficult for him to do! Don't you worry though, Scott still swings that gavel, and picks the biggest loser. First up, Joe Findlay does what he does best, and brings the very worst of March 1976. Marc James drew the big straw this week and delivers his worst findings of March 1983. And rounding out this week's turd trifecta, Mancrush counters with some serious trash from March of 1994. This week we are honored to have the incredibly versatile writer-director-actor Joel Murray pick up the gavel. One Crazy Summer is one of our favorite films here at Dueling Decades and Joel’s portrayal of the best friend everyone wanted to have, George Calamari definitely left its mark on us. Joel has had an amazing career in film, TV, and animation, working on some of our favorites like Mad Men, Dharma & Greg, Monsters University, The Artist, and God Bless America directed by his good friend Bobcat Goldthwait. So, Make sure your tray is in its upright position because Mancrush crashes into this one with the best of March 1977 aboard. Marc James asks whatcha’ gonna do when March 1987 runs wild on you? Also, Joe Findlay is back in action this week with the best of March 1997, Baby-Baby! Joel swings the gavel like he swings a golf club; swift and hard! When Joel isn't delivering verdicts, he's sharing some incredible stories! So in this episode, you may hear something about the wrong way to console a widow, clueless "movie critics", George Kennedy's affinity for disasters, Danny Glover's soft voice, Sybian adventures, NASA probes Uranus, scalping specials from the Silverdome, Joel talks Heels, sex-drugs and Atari, life after death, Nickelback of the 80s saves 29 Palms, The Pauly & Corey show, ABC stumbles into a ratings juggernaut, a horrible graduation party, Joel serves Bob Weir, strengthen your pecs with a Thighmaster, Bono's sunglasses, promo codes for William Murray Golf, Joel escorts Nikki Sixx's girlfriend, Cusack's missing credit card, the life of a cheesy mascot, eight is not enough, a supernatural high school, tales of a crazy summer in Nantucket, and who skipped the Oscars for a basketball game?!
