In this episode, Rivers is joined at Disgraceland Studios by THREE hilarious comedians, Kyle Clark, Luke Jensen, and Monika Scott, for our now annual tradition of trying to find the funniest year of all time. This time, it's all about THE YEAR 2000. In Part 1, we go into absolutely everything from the first six months of this year: movies, music, TV, and even some literature. The year 2000 was a truly insane time when pop culture dinosaurs still roamed the Earth and, for some reason, MTV had a confessional booth set up in Times Square. This was an absolutely crazy year for news and pop culture and we hope y'all have as much fun listening to it as we did recording it. This episode covers January through June of 2000. Part two with July through December will air next week! Follow Kyle on Twitter and stuff @KyleClarkIsRad and listen to his podcast "This is Rad!". Follow Luke on everything @LukeFJensen. Do you ever see someone on social media and just breathe a sigh of relief at their authenticity? As if it somehow gives you permission to show up as yourself too? I've been a fan of social media manager, Monika Scott since 2018 when I discovered her handmade stained glass art and bolo ties—yes, I do own one of her bolos and I wore it to the Star Wars Celebration and referred to myself as Han Bolo all day; and was quickly captivated by how effortlessly she seemed to be herself. Interactions with people like Monika on social media held a mirror to the ways in which I was performing social media rather than enjoying it—That's a compliment; we welcome the discomfort of growth over here. In Head Heart and Charts inaugural episode, Monika shares her experiences with personal growth, introversion, communication, social media and the marketing that relies on our anger to succeed. We talk about how social media marketing has influenced the way we interact with each other online and how we can get curious about what we're feeling to stay sane. River 'N' Roar is back, and we know it has been a while. We wanted to get you guys some updates, on what your South Bend Lion's have been up to, since there was no season, and no soccer played at all really. The good thing is, everything is full steam ahead for "Season 2" I guess we can call it. So, who better to have on the show than our Chief Progress Officer Monika Scott, and everyone's favorite Chief Happiness Officer Matt Bellina. These two are constantly working to keep the Lion's out there, and spreading the word to the community. Their is a lot of exciting things happening this year, that possibly without the cancellation of the season, would not have been pushed forward. Now, not only do we have a Men's U-18 team, but also a Women's U-18 team in the mix, which is awesome, and look forward to seeing both in action, and training. Matt is hard at work, getting a website up and running about the history of soccer here in South Bend, and I can promise you, there is no one better to head that charge. The website would act, as sort of a Wikipedia of stories, people, and anything South Bend Soccer related. Also, a little news about teams being added to our division, which will make for some amazing rivalries. Kalamazoo, and Fort Wayne being added will make this season awesome, and full of some amazing matches. Don't forget to check out https://www.southbendlions.com/ for all your Lion's news. Also you can find the Lion's on Social Media below Twitter- @SouthBendLions Instagram- @SouthBendLions Also, if you have any suggestions for the podcast, or there is something you would want to hear. In this VERY SPECIAL episode, the Goods from the Woods Boys once again combine forces with Monika Scott and Luke Jensen from the "What Did You Learn?" When filmmakers first came to Boone County, West Virginia in the late 80's to document the personal and professional life of the last mountain tap dancer, they had no idea they would find a modern day folk hero This episode goes into the obvious funny qualities of hillbilly livin' as well as the dark pall that late capitalism has cast over all of rural America.
