Send us a textMiguel Aguilar came on the podcast with Kevin back in December of 2021. His story is truly inspiring and well worth your time. We are reposting this episode because Miguel has tragically passed away. A few months ago, he was followed home by four men who attempted to rob him at gunpoint. Details of what went on are scarce, but we do know that Miguel was shot and spent the past few months fighting for his life. We wanted to repost this episode to honor his memory and to allow those who knew him and loved him to hear from him again, to hear some of what made him the man he was, the man that so many loved. As the frontman, face and heartbeat of his band My Epic, singer/guitarist Aaron Stone started his rock band long before he ever imagined having and wife and now 4 year old child and would never have believed his band would still be making music. in fact they're making music on a killer label, Tooth and Nail Records, with their newest LP Loriella due on June 27th. 2024.  But even as he's grown older and now with a family, his bands' trajectory continues to rise as he's split his time between his music and his job--bivocational he calls it. As a kid raised in the church in North Carolina, indeed as a PK (preachers kid), his faith was big for him, and ultimately he majored in philosophy and got his masters in Theology. Throughout it all however, his rock band has been has greatest and most powerful voice for his ideaology without it ever being too heavy-handed for his crowd that often has "mixed or absolutely no belief" in a higher power. His music has been the conduit and has spoken the loudest for this thoughtful and articulate rocker with a larger calling. 

In this week's episode, Nole shares his recent struggles with Post Traumatic Stress and his failure to deal with it in the ways he knows work. Kevin also shares his perspective on dealing with similar struggles, and we delve into what we know works when dealing with difficult times in our lives. Often, there is a separation between what we know we should do and what we actually do. Nole has been in that place of late, but it's time to go into the storm and start doing the hard things because we know there is only one way out, and that's through. Regardless of where you're at in life today, we think that candid conversations like this about the things we struggle with are good for us to participate in and we encourage you to find a good group of corner men that you can have talks like this with. In this week's episode, Nole talks through the Ranger Creed, why it exists and what it means in his life now, so many years removed from his time in the 75th Ranger Regiment. Nole's time in Ranger Battlaion shaped a lot of who he is as a man today and the Ranger Creed was a part of that.
