He completed his thesis on Bill Evans at the University of British Columbia, and his instrumental album Sophie's Heart is currently streaming. The Old Show had already been written, and we were on the verge of workshopping it when Avi received the Tdap vaccine and suffered a catastrophic reaction.I won't go further into the details here—you know the story does not end well.With The Music Stopped on Valentine's Day, I hope you will come to know what happened to an extraordinarily talented, humble, and deeply intelligent man—one who was often misunderstood because of his unique nervous system, which placed him on the autism spectrum. It will be three years this Valentine's Day that Avi passed.
