Victor Davis Hanson breaks down the tragic irony of today's transgender sports movement on today's episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.” “  As a classicist, I can tell you that there are documented fables, myths, poems, histories about people who feel they were in the wrong bodies. … There's a long history of sex research about people whose psychological or hormonal makeup does not match their physical characteristics. But here's the key: They're very rare. “The Left was supposed to be for gender parity. … And now we're kind of reactionary. We flipped it upside down, where males go around the back, take over women's sports, and essentially, destroy it. And yet that is popular among many on the Left.”

Pennsylvania’s Republican senators, joined by five Democrats, are trying to ban transgender athletes from participating in school or collegiate sports. The Senate - after 90 minutes of heated debate - voted to pass the bill despite indications it will not be picked up in the House. Pennsylvania House Democrats are planting the seed for a recreational marijuana program. The adult-use bill passed out of committee by a narrow 14 to 12 vote. A story on the gunfire which broke out at a Donald Trump rally in western Pennsylvania last summer is the recipient of journalism's top award. Two hospital systems that serve central Pa. have indicated they will no longer offer gender-affirming care to children and teens after President Donald Trump signed an executive order in January. Penn State Health and UPMC said they will comply with the executive order that said any health systems that provide gender-affirming care for children under 19 years old would lose federal funding. In response to the February shooting at York's UPMC Memorial Hospital, the state House of Representatives has passed a bill intended to curb workplace violence in healthcare facilities. Two weeks after they began, a pair of wildfires in Michaux State Forest are considered fully extinguished. Some encouraging news for a 20-year-old who fell from the top of a 21-foot-high wall onto the warning track at PNC Park during a Pittsburgh Pirates game last week: Lavan Markwood has taken his first steps since the accident. SEASON 3 EPISODE 119: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: Senator Lisa Murkowski may be the most important person in the country right now. Her public confession that she too is afraid of the Trump nightmare and her HINTS at talking to Senate colleagues ABOUT her fear – could provide just enough Republican rebellion to rein Trump in. It feels as if she just got it, as if she just understood that yes Trump is Nazi-esque and yes Trump often emulates the Soviets but the closest parallel to him is O'Brien and "The Party" in Orwell's "1984" and the simple terrifying conviction that "the object of power is power." That's why I think when Kristi Garden Noem and Secretary of Defense (and Vodka) Hegseth (if he's still on the job after ANOTHER Signal chat came to light) file their report on the border to Trump this week and tell him no, they don't need to invoke The Insurrection Act, he may do it anyway because... the object of power is power. Murkowski and thirteen other Republican Senators and at most four Republican Representatives can stop this. They can save the country. They can impeach Trump or if they still can’t get over the hump, the 18 of you can use the THREAT to impeach him, to virtually fetter him, to at least control the width and breadth of his damage, to make him know the Senate WILL vote against him. She can also talk to anybody on the Supreme Court except Alito or Thomas. The other seven, in the middle of the damn night - at 1 AM Saturday - stepped in to freeze any further disappearing Americans under the phony premise of The Alien Enemies Act. And there is reason to hope that these Murkowski-led conversations might happen before the iron curtain of dictatorship descends: Later in her confession of fear, she hinted at doing exactly what I just suggested. Meanwhile, how many times can you self-destruct on this? Gavin Newsom dismisses the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case as a "distraction" and calls Democrats sheep for defending the constitution. On the other hand, Senator Ed Markey is crafting a sense of the senate resolution stating Trump cannot again be elected, and cannot again serve, as president or vice president. Damn Straight. B-Block (40:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The Musk Crappertruck Owner who claims to also be a "girl dad"; Pennsylvania congressman Dan Meuser kinda blames Governor Josh Shapiro's criticizing Trump for provoking the attempt to incinerate him and his family in the governor's mansion on Passover. And Trump DEI hire Pam Bondi lies that compulsive martyr and 85th Place Olympic Trials finisher Riley Gaines "went to the Olympics." Not unless she bought a ticket, Pam Blondie. C-Block (55:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: The renewed Trump bid to ban the Associated Press got me talking to a friend: How MANY times have I been banned, as a reporter? Do you mean this century, or in total? It's... a lot. From the LA Clippers to the ESPN Campus, I've been banned... a lot. And je ne regret rien!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Deportation of Venezuelan Gang Members: The Supreme Court lifted a judge's order blocking the deportation of suspected Venezuelan gang members to a prison in El Salvador. The Trump administration used the Alien Enemies Act, an 18th-century law, to classify these gang members as part of a hostile government. The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that challenges to deportation must be filed as habeas corpus petitions in the location where the individuals are detained, not as class actions in D.C. Cancellation of Teacher Training Grants: The Supreme Court upheld the cancellation of $600 million in teacher training grants, with $65 million yet to be distributed. The court ruled 5-4 that claims against federal money should be brought in the Court of Federal Claims. This decision was seen as a technical but significant victory against district judges trying to block the Trump administration's agenda. Reinstatement of Federal Employees: The Supreme Court reversed a district judge's order to reinstate 16,000 federal employees fired by the Trump administration. The court ruled 7-2 that the administration had followed proper procedures for the dismissals. This decision was another victory against district judges attempting to halt the Trump administration's actions. Issuance of Social Security Numbers: Nearly 4 million non-citizens were issued Social Security numbers during Joe Biden's presidency. These numbers allowed illegal aliens to access government programs and aid, costing American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) reported that many illegal aliens received Medicaid, driver's licenses, and some even registered to vote. Transgender Athletes in Women's Sports: A female fencer was disqualified for refusing to compete against a transgender opponent. Senator Ted Cruz launched an investigation into USA Fencing's policies, aiming to protect women and girls in sports. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. Maine's transgender policies have cast the state into an unwelcome national spotlight, creating ripple effects that reach from schoolyards to prison cells and ultimately into living rooms of everyday families like mine. The federal government recently pulled $1.5 million in funding from Maine's Department of Corrections over its policy allowing transgender inmates to be housed according to their gender identity rather than biological sex.At the center of this controversy is a biological male who murdered his parents, now identifying as female and housed in a women's prison. Attorney General Pam Bondi made the federal government's position clear: "We will protect women in prison. We will protect women in sports. We will protect women throughout this country." Meanwhile, Maine's governor – ironically, the state's first female governor – continues implementing policies that fail to protect women and girls. What makes this policy debate personal for me is how it directly impacts my family. My brother, who has spent over ten years incarcerated and is nearing release, was set to receive four months in a halfway house to help him transition back to society. Due to these funding cuts, his prison sentence has been extended, and his rehabilitation program cut in half. The harsh reality: political decisions about gender identity are having real-world consequences for rehabilitation programs designed to help people rebuild their lives. The situation mirrors broader concerns throughout the state, including reports that dozens of Maine schools are hiding students' gender plans from parents. When policies prioritize ideology over practical considerations about safety, security, and family involvement, vulnerable populations often pay the price – whether they're women in prisons, girls in sports, or inmates seeking rehabilitation. I firmly support protecting women's safety and opportunities. If you found value in today's show please return the favor and leave a positive review and share it with someone important to you! https://www.sharethestrugglepodcast.com/reviews/new/Find all you need to know about the show https://www.sharethestrugglepodcast.com/Official Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100077724159859Join the 2% of Americans that Buy American and support American Together we can bring back American Manufacturing https://www.loudproudamerican.shop/Loud Proud American Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LoudproudamericanLoud Proud American Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/loud_proud_american/Loud Proud American TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@loud_proud_americanLoud Proud American YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmYQtOt6KVURuySWYQ2GWtwThank you for Supporting My American Dream!
