In this episode of the Wise and Worthy Podcast, we tackle a common and often frustrating dynamic in co-parenting: the Responsible Parent vs. Fun Parent dilemma. After a divorce, it's not uncommon for one parent to take on the role of the disciplinarian and taskmaster, ensuring that rules are followed, homework is completed, and responsibilities are met. Meanwhile, the other parent might embrace a more carefree, fun-loving approach, where everything feels like a vacation and boundaries are blurred. While this may seem harmless on the surface, it can create deep resentment for the parent shouldering most of the responsibilities and lead to confusion and unrealistic expectations for the children. The challenges of navigating this dynamic can cause significant strain, not only on the co-parenting relationship but also on the emotional well-being of the children. The responsible parent may feel overwhelmed and underappreciated, while the fun parent often enjoys the admiration of the kids without acknowledging the long-term consequences of their approach. This imbalance can foster disharmony and leave children caught in the middle, unsure of which parent to trust for guidance and stability. To help us explore solutions to this complex issue, we are joined by Dr. David S. Marcus, a renowned Clinical Psychologist with over 40 years of experience in helping families through stressful transitions. Dr. Marcus brings his deep expertise in parent-child communication and child advocacy to our discussion, offering valuable insights into how both parents can work together—or individually—to create a more balanced, healthy environment for their children. Whether you're the responsible parent feeling the weight of discipline or the fun parent struggling to see the bigger picture, this episode offers crucial guidance for finding harmony and ensuring the best for your children.

November marks Native American Heritage Month, an annual observance in the United States dedicated to honoring and celebrating the rich tapestry of Native American cultures, histories, contributions, and achievements. This month provides a valuable opportunity for individuals, both Native and non-Native, to pay tribute to the unique heritage and resilience of Native American communities. In the spirit of this commemoration, we bring you a captivating podcast featuring Terrance "TJ" Lafromboise, MSW-ITR, Piikani – Siiksakaitstiitaapii of the Blackfeet Tribe in Browning, MT. This initiative, funded by a Section 1115 Demonstration grant from the Federal Office of Child Support titled "Charting the Court for Economic Mobility and Responsible Parenting," holds significance in its mission to empower Native communities.

Many parents who struggle with the idea that their child is a reflection of them (for better and worse) have not separated from their children. . These parents tend to feel some responsibility for their child's situation. Most often they expect that their child should understand and react to situations as they would but it's not always the case. Every individual is different and we should give them their space to grow as independent personalities. This week, I'm discussing radical unschooling. Do you unschool but don't like the sound of radically unschooling? Maybe you're convinced you'll never do it? If so, I hope to change your mind! I'm pondering lots of questions including: How did we end up becoming radical unschoolers (when I said we'd never do this)? Are radical unschooling parents irresponsible? Or are the critics wrong? How will our kids learn to do the things that are necessary and right if we don't make any rules? Can anyone radically unschool? Or is radical unschooling associated with only a particular lifestyle? Can Catholics unschool? How do we protect, care for and share our beliefs with our radically unschooled children? Is it possible to let kids make their own choices and, at the same time, be confident that they will make the right choices? What could happen if we force our kids to live by our rules? Is it really okay if kids don't wash their hair and clean their teeth? What is at the heart of a radical unschooling way of life? As a loving CoParent you know that dividing up Parental Responsibility in a way that can setup your children for success is crucial in today's rapidly changing world. This CoParent Courage episode explores what I call the "Lines of Responsible Parenting" - in a nutshell, setting up rules for your children to become the best Adults they can. Sometimes having a single point of contact makes sense, from both a logistical perspective and a responsibility point-of-view. If important things like Doctors appointments, Dentist visits and Musical Recitals are taken over by one parent, how often does the other parent communicate? The answer should be all the time! That said, there is some times when the lines of responsible parenting intersect or there is a major disagreement about something. If this is the case, we learn again that clear communication is the key to figuring it out and we start this discussion from a place of "what works". To wrap up this episode, we start exploring a new motto that is going to be used throughout our conversations in the future: You are your Child's Parent, not their friend. You'll be their friend later in life, but for now, there are times where you need to lay down the "CoParent Law" for their own good. Please go to my site and sign-up for my Newsletter. It's a way for us to keep this conversation going about CoParenting, Parenting and raising healthy Adults. You can sign-up for my Newsletter on my site here: http://CoParentCourage.com/. ...
11/22/15 AM - Pastor Paul McGee
As we kick off the first episode of Francis Watch in Season 4, we will focus in on some very telling statements made by Novus Ordo Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga, Francis' right hand man at the Vatican, where he speaks of the Bergoglian revolution as one that is seeking to implement "renovation to the point where it becomes irreversible." The episode begins with a general discussion of how we are now seeing, in crystal-clear focus, the fact that Francis is a radical revolutionary who wishes to tear down anything remaining of doctrine and dogma that has been the foundation upon which the Church has stood for two thousand years. As we have said in previous episodes, in the place of doctrine, Francis' plan is to make one amalgamated dogma-less world religion, and this month's episode will further prove that statement. Topics for discussion this month: * "Irreversible renovation" and a "transformation of institutions" * The "Barque Goes Adrift" - more from Dr. Robert de Mattei * January Buzzwords: "Dynamism of Charity" and the "Theological Pluralism" * Francis' Era of Good Feelings with Secularism * Even the Atheists and Socialists understand: Francis is a Revolutionary! * Francis' terrorism solution: find an international consensus * "Responsible Parenting" - Catholics should not breed like rabbits! * Francis' goal: Christianity without Dogmas * Francis proclaims: The Church cannot take charge of consciences * Francis blames the Priests - people are leaving because of clericalism! * Universal Salvation for All! * The Solution for Unity: Encounter, not Theory * More Francis bowing to the Schismatics * Novus Ordo Cardinal Reinhard Marx: We can learn from Luther! ...and much more.
