Mary was once afraid that everyone would find out how incredibly ordinary she was and that would be her ultimate demise. She doesn't use smoke and mirrors, she is raw and honest and caring AF to be around. She believes in the magical mess of life and this informs her work. For the past 15+ years Mary has supported women and men in making small daily changes that make a major impact on their lives. These simple, ordinary changes can get lost in the flashy online world and at times the topics that need to be addressed need more space to be looked at from the both/and, yes and yes perspective. She focuses on educating women about changes that occur once they cross into the threshold of motherhood and how best to use this change to catalyst them forward vs staying trapped in the mother box. Mary believes that in a world where women thrive through cultivating their own inner gardens they will naturally give back creating more peaceful homes, happier relationships and a thriving society. Eidan Sanker, an Israeli content creator has built the biggest YouTube Channel with almost 8 million followers as well as a massive Instagram following with 8 million. He started out as a photographer and then proceeded to buy several cars which he not only collected but then later used to rent out for events. One of the cars was a purple Corvette which is very uncommon to see in Israel since most people do not drive luxury cars altogether let alone corvettes. He saw people leaning against the car and decided to turn on the engine to scare them and later posted it online. The video blew up and so he went on to make many similar videos. After countless "Don't touch my car" videos, Eidan switched up the content ideas and added money giveaways and gold-digger pranks. Aside from Gal Gadot who lives in the US, Eidan has the biggest Israeli following on YouTube. Tune in to hear how he did it, you might learn a thing or two. SUBSCRIBE, LIKE, AND SHARE!! In November 1987, Jamaican sprinter Derice Bannock trains to qualify for the 100 metre in the 1988 Summer Olympics. He fails to qualify when fellow runner Junior Bevil accidentally stumbles, not only falling over himself, but knocking down Derice, and another competitor named Yul Brenner.Derice petitions for a re-heat, but committee leader Barrington Coolidge, though he pities Derice, refuses. He invites Derice to try again in four years' time, or to try out for one of the only two other sports Jamaica competes in; boxing and cycling. Derice spots a photograph in Coolidge's office, featuring his late father Ben, standing next to a fellow Olympic gold medal winner. Coolidge identifies the man as disgraced American bobsled medallist Irving Blitzer, who was disqualified for cheating in the 1972 Winter Olympics, and now works as a bookie, fortunately not far from where Derice lives. Derice realizes he could participate in the 1988 Winter Olympics by forming a bobsled team, recruiting his friend Sanka Coffie, a pushcart derby champion.Derice and Sanka track down Blitzer, who at first refuses to help Derice, until learning he is Ben Bannock's son. He reluctantly agrees to coach the team. A recruitment drive fails miserably. Blitzer shows a film about bobsledding on a slide projector, but is heckled, and when the lights come on, only Derice and Sanker are still present. Fortunately, Junior Bevil and Yul Brenner arrive late to the meeting, making the required four-man team. Junior, like Derice, can't wait another four years to enter the Olympics, and Yul Brenner just wants to get off the island. The team train with Blitzer, though Coolidge refuses to fund the $20,000 needed to participate in the Olympics, believing the team's inexperience will bring shame to Jamaica. Derice's attempts to find another sponsor fail miserably. The team are forced to find other ways to earn the money- Sanker tries his hand at busking, with no success. Yul Brenner holds arm-wrestling contests, and Derice even sets up a kissing booth- these ventures meet with moderate success, but they still haven't anywhere near enough money. In the end, Junior sells his car to finance the trip.In Calgary, Blitzer registers the team, receiving an old bobsled from his former teammate Roger. The Jamaicans struggle to drive the bobsled and adapt to the cold, though exercise and hard work eventually pays off. Derice begins to copy the techniques of the very efficient East German team. The East German team, and their captain, Josef Groole- the current bobsled world record holder- constantly heckle the team during try-outs. Eventually, all the members of the team except Derice get into a bar fight with the East Germans. Derice reprimands them severely. After weeks of training, the team successfully qualifies for the finals, only to be disqualified by the Olympic committee, but this is only where their story begins...::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::;Our DM is Dalton RiddleOur Players are Andrew Gehrlein, Michael Adair & Alissa AdairEditing by Alissa, Michael, and AndrewTheme song (both old and new!!) by Dustin Hook (so talented)Please check out our Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok @dungeonradiohour to keep up with the latest DRH news! bye for now~

Welcome back to the New Mom Boss Podcast! In this episode, I'm discussing the effects that motherhood can have on our relationships. I'm joined by Mary Sanker, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who works to help women reconnect with their inner strength by listening to their bodies and working through mental blocks. Mary shares more about the mind-body connection and the crucial role that rest plays in our ability to function. We also talk about how motherhood changes our friendships and also how it highlights the relationships between mothers and daughters. Some big takeaways are: If our bodies are not functioning properly, our brains will not function properly. Motherhood changes us, and this can affect the dynamics of our relationships. Women who do the internal work in motherhood set themselves up for success. From patents to privacy to export control, innovations in artificial intelligence present attorneys with significant career opportunities. David and Jenn from Morgan Lewis explain how AI impacts their work and advise on ways students can prepare for future work. More on David Sanker & Jenn Wang. SPEAKERS David Sanker, Wayne Stacy, Jenn Wang Wayne Stacy 00:00 Welcome, everyone to Berkeley Center for Law and Technology's Career Podcast. I'm Wayne Stacy, the Executive Director for BCLT. And today we have two attorneys from the the law firm of Morgan Lewis, David Sanger and Jenn Wang. And we wanted to talk with him a little bit today about what the the practice of law looks like around artificial intelligence. It is, especially artificial intelligence and patents, and what is a, what is a practitioner do for day to day? And what does it practice gonna look like over the next decade? So, David, I'll start with you. You know, tell us a little bit about your background and what your legal practice looks like. David Sanker 00:48 Oh, thank you. Yeah. So fortunately, I was able to go to Berkeley Law a few years ago. And while I was at Berkeley Law, I was a summer associate at Morgan Lewis. And I started my work, thinking that I was going to focus on patent litigation. And I did mostly patent litigation. But I also did quite a bit of patent prosecution. Sort of an ancillary basis. And then, so I saw a lot of familiarity with with the patent litigation side, as well as the patent prosecution side. And after about four years that I've been doing exclusively, patent prosecution work. Prior to law school, I actually did software development for 12 years. So I have a lot of background in software. And that has been very, very helpful. Most people don't have that much background before they go into patent law. So that's, that's, that's my, my background and how about Jenn, why don't you say a little bit about what you do. Jenn Wang 01:55 Yeah. So I work with David Sanger, together on patent prosecution. So we do a lot of software hardware, different kind of technology or patent applications and do prosecution. But my background comes from technical background comes from undergraduate in finance and a graduate degree in electrical engineering, then I also worked in our technology company for three and a half years. Then I come to law school, and I'm working in a law company together at the same time. So I'm in the part time in Santa Clara. It's not Berkeley, but it's close neighbor. Then after graduation, I start to practice full time on patent prosecution. It has been like six years, so kind of close to your law school students. So I may have a lot of experience in terms of early career development to share with you. So that's my background. Thank you. Wayne Stacy 03:00 So one of the things I heard when I was at the PTO you talk with with new companies, and they would inevitably say, well, we read on the internet, that software isn't patentable. So we didn't worry about software patents. And, you know, the first time I heard it, I thought it was an anomaly. Oh, here's a company that didn't didn't talk to anybody. But then we started looking across the country between all the regional directors, and it came up over and over again. And so we started looking, and you can find a lot of information on the web that says, you know, software's basically not patentable. And then if it's not patentable, that means there's no real career path in it. For people looking to do software patent work, what do you have to say to that?
Postpartum has it all - depression, anxiety, rage, joy, fear, love, frustration, happiness, grief... yep it's the full spectrum of emotions, sometimes all in one day. We hear about it sometimes, whispers of mental health struggles, but like the rest of the mental health world, it's not talked about openly. So how the heck do we deal with that? How do we know if we're okay? How do we ask for help? That's what I talked about with maternal mental health counselor, and new mom herself, Mary Sanker. How can we navigate this postpartum period and still feel like ourselves? How do we find support when the world we live in offers no village? Mary teaches us how to make subtle shifts by slowing down, taking stock, and moving towards what feels true to you. The first steps are not sweeping life changes, it's just doing the one small thing that's next. Listening to your body, letting go of unrealistic expectations of what you "should" be doing, and do what feels true. That's the beginning of your path.We also talk about the scary stuff, the times when it's more than "just the baby blues"... and Mary shares the most beautiful insight into what's actually going on in someone's brain when their minds are consumed with harmful thoughts. Her message to postpartum people: you're a mother, not a martyr - you do not have to continually abandon yourself for some productivity output, or unspoken expectation that isn't serving you or your child.
