Buon ascolto. Per sostenere il progetto seguici su instagram! You set up an assumption, you have a theory, you analyze your data, and you show that the assumption does not hold. Doing good qualitative research is that simple. Except that it's not, of course. On the ground, in the research and writing process, these basic rules can be quite tricky to implement. So we discuss some heuristics researchers can use to limit their conversants, settle on suitable theoretical lenses to examine their data, and collecting more data than what they thought was necessary. Full Text of ReadingsTuesday of the Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time Lectionary: 462The Saint of the day is Saint John LeonardiSaint John Leonardi's Story “I am only one person! Why should I do anything? What good would it do?” Today, as in any age, people seem plagued with the dilemma of getting involved. In his own way, John Leonardi answered these questions. He chose to become a priest. After his ordination, Fr. Leonardi became very active in the works of the ministry, especially in hospitals and prisons. The example and dedication of his work attracted several young laymen who began to assist him. They later became priests themselves. John lived after the Protestant Reformation and the Council of Trent. He and his followers projected a new congregation of diocesan priests. For some reason the plan, which was ultimately approved, provoked great political opposition. John was exiled from his home town of Lucca, Italy, for almost the entire remainder of his life. He received encouragement and help from Saint Philip Neri, who gave him his lodgings—along with the care of his cat! In 1579, John formed the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, and published a compendium of Christian doctrine that remained in use until the 19th century. Father Leonardi and his priests became a great power for good in Italy, and their congregation was confirmed by Pope Clement in 1595. John died at the age of 68 from a disease caught when tending those stricken by the plague. By the deliberate policy of the founder, the Clerks Regular of the Mother of God have never had more than 15 churches, and today form only a very small congregation. The liturgical feast of Saint John Leonardi is celebrated on October 9. Reflection What can one person do? The answer is plenty! In the life of each saint, one thing stands clear: God and one person are a majority! What one individual, following God's will and plan for his or her life, can do is more than our mind could ever hope for or imagine. How to do a literature review

Many people think of summer as the best time to read. On the beach, on the airplane to a vacation, in between semesters… Sounds like a perfect time to do a literature review. But there are many ways to do a literature review, and in all honesty, we think most people choose the wrong type of review – the “systematic” literature review where they select papers about a phenomenon, do a supposedly structured but not exhaustive search across IS journals, and then criticize the knowledge others have created. We discuss a few alternatives that we think hold more promise: qualitative and quantitative meta analyses, or narrative and integrative reviews. We also point to a few papers that have helped us organize the conversations we read about in the literature – which really, is what literature reviewing is all about.  References Berente, N., Lyytinen, K., Yoo, Y., & Maurer, C. We speak with Dr. Mathew Leonardi, MD about general information on endometriosis and it's impact on fertility.  I've been looking to discuss this topic for quite some time, particularly after I was diagnosed.  Like so many it was initially dismissed by my gynecologist.  With encouragement and a hysteroscopy that did not go as planned, I was finally about to be evaluated for endometriosis.  In today's episode, we did not review treatment for those experiencing pain as the primary symptom.  This episode is focused primarily on infertility and endometriosis.  I make this distinction because the therapies can be different depending on whether you're treating only pain or if you're trying to address the issue of infertility.   We spend a considerable amount of time discussing endometriosis and its signs and symptoms, as well as the diagnostic tools used.  This disease process is complex and mysterious.  There is still so much we don't know about it, but Dr. Leonardi does a great job of exploring what we know and don't know honestly and transparently.   He is passionate and advocates for the advancement of care for endometriosis patients.  In this episode, I felt my concerns as a patient were heard.   This is a great episode if you are experiencing endometriosis and infertility.  Thank you to Dr. Leonardi for his time for this episode today!  I'm so grateful for your expertise!   —---------------------- To round out your IVF survival guide, I would recommend the following episodes before your first IVF cycle: Episode 23:  What Happens to Your Fertility in your 20s, 30s, and 40s Episode 19:  All About Sperm Episode 24:  Controlling Your Weigh During IVF Episode 20:  Stimulation Protocols Episode 21:  All About Your Embryos in the lab Episode 33:  All About Genetic Testing Episode 38:  The Emotions of Infertility and How to Manage These Feelings ---------------------- Episodes about the Emotional Aspects of Infertility: Episode 12: WARRIOR STORY - The Infertility Journey of LuckyBabyLam AKA Annie at age 42 Episode 14 - ASK THE EXPERT - Grief, Trauma and Mother's Day Triggers with Dr. Wiyatta Fahnbulleh, PsyD Episode 26: WARRIOR STORY When a therapist is infertile. @Infertile_therapist_in_therapy shares her infertility struggle at 40, her experience with immunotherapy abroad, and struggling as a therapist Episode 28 - ASK THE EXPERT - The Emotions of Infertility and How to Manage Your Emotions and The Expectations of Yourself and Others with Miss Conception Coach AKA Chiemi Episode 30 - Infertility Man Jon Summers Talks Getting A Cancer Diagnosis, Dating While Going Through IVF with Male Factor Infertility, and Mindset in the Face of Your Medical Challenges. First published in Venice in 1502, Camillo Leonardi's Speculum Lapidum is an encyclopedic summary of all classical and medieval sources of lithotherapy. Today Jana Byars talks to Liliana Leopardi about her new translation, Speculum Lapidum: A Renaissance Treatise on the Healing Properties of Gemstones (Penn State University Press, 2023). In early modern Europe precious and semiprecious stones were valued not only for their beauty and rarity but also for their medical and magical properties. Lorenzo de' Medici, Philip II of Spain, and Popes Leo X and Clement VII were all treated with expensive potions incorporating ground gems such as rubies, diamonds, and emeralds. Medical and magical/astrological lapidaries, texts describing the stones' occult and medical qualities as well as their abilities to ward off demons and incantations, were essential resources for their use.  In describing the natural, manifest, and occult properties of precious and semiprecious stones as well as their graven images and applications, the Speculum Lapidum provides tremendous insight into the role that medical astrology and astral magic played in the life of an Italian court in the early modern period. Liliana Leopardi's English translation, complete with critical apparatuses, gives unprecedented access to this key text within the magical lapidary genre. A vital addition to the existing canon of lapidaria in translation, Leopardi's work will be of special importance for students and scholars of the history of magic, medicine, religion, and Renaissance humanism, and it will fascinate anyone interested in the occult properties of precious and semiprecious stones. Full Text of ReadingsTwenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time Lectionary: 139The Saint of the day is Saint John LeonardiSaint John Leonardi's Story “I am only one person! Each of us, like John Leonardi, has a mission to fulfill in God's plan for the world. Each one of us is unique and has been given talent to use for the service of our brothers and sisters for the building up of God's kingdom.
