Welcome back to the season 1 finale of Star Wars The Bad Batch Episode 16 "Kamino Lost". We say farewell to Hunter, Omega, Crosshair, Tech, Echo and Wrecker as we discuss the finale in spoiler filled detail. Until next season. The Bad Batch Episode 16 "Kamino Lost" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni, Brad Rau Episode Written by: Jennifer Corbett Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz Episode Directed By: Saul Ruiz With a hail of laser fire raining down from Vice Admiral Rampart's Venator-class Starships the cloning facilities of Kamino crack apart. With the Kaminoan facility breaking apart around them, the Bad Batch, their new droid AZI and a sour Crosshair have to make it to their ship, the Havoc Marauder, to escape. Making their way from the central buildings to Nala Se's private lab is fraught with danger. Separated by blast doors from the bad Batch and with seawater rapidly encroaching in their enclosed chamber, Omega struggles to free Crosshair trapped under a fallen rebar. Using her ingenuity she manages to free him and reunites with her team. As they reach the lab, where they were all previously cloned and experimented on, the disintegrating facility detaches and falls to the bottom of the Kaminoan ocean. To free themselves from a watery grave the team use their original testing tubes and, guided by AZI, float themselves to the surface. When AZI and Omega are trapped trying to escape, Crosshair uses his deadshot skills to save them. Finally reaching their destination the Bad Batch offers to take Crosshair with them but he refuses. Omega pleads with him saying he is a brother to them all, but Crosshair's mind's made up - Kamino, the Republic, regulation clone troopers and the Bad Batch are over, in their place the Empire will rise and he will be part of it. With his faith in the Empire, he stays behind hoping to be rescued by Imperial scouts; while the Bad Batch board their ship and leave. Meanwhile, on another world, Kaminoan lead cloning scientist Nala Se is delivered to a new imperial base and the Empire has many new projects that require her expertise. It's the first part of the season one finale we're chatting all about Star Wars The Bad Batch Episode 15 "Return To Kamino". This is a great set up for the end of season one and the recently announced second season. The Bad Batch Episode 15 "Return to Kamino" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni, Brad Rau Episode Written by: Matt Michnovetz Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz Episode Directed By: Nathaniel Villanueva Crosshair has captured his quarry. He returns to Kamino to present Hunter to Vice Admiral Rampart with the knowledge that the rest of the Bad Batch will follow when he activates Hunter's homing beacon. After fixing up their ship the Havoc Marauder the Bad Batch pick up Hunter's signal and, as predicted, set off to rescue their brother-in-arms. Using Omega's knowledge of the hidden areas of Tipoca City on Kamino, the team makes it into chief scientist Nala Se's secret laboratory. Omega explains that this was their birthplace. She was there when the Batch were brought to life. While in the lab the team meets up with a droid in hiding, AZI-3, who explains that all of the clones have been reassigned from Kamino and all major scientists have been removed from the planet or eliminated.Meanwhile when Hunter discovers that the cloning planet is being decommissioned he appeals to Crosshair to give up on the Empire and they can remove his control chip before all of the Clones are replaced. But Crosshair refuses. He knows he's on the right side and knows he no longer belongs with the Bad Batch. He realised this when they left him behind to be experimented on by Nala Se and Admiral Tarkin. Tech, Wrecker and Echo try to retrieve Hunter but, when they are surrounded by Crosshair's men, they are saved by Omega's quick thinking. In the stand off Crosshair gives the Bad Batch the choice he never had, asking them to join him on the side of the Empire. They refuse knowing the impact the Empire is having on the galaxy. With cloning technology now in the hands of the Empire, Vice Admiral Rampart, believing Crosshair has turned on them, orders the destruction of Kamino's capital city, as the Bad Batch, Crosshair, Omega and AZI try to escape the burning city. The Bad Batch Episode 14 "Infested" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni, Brad Rau Episode Written by: Damani Johnson Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz Episode Directed By: Steward Lee In the middle of another off-world job for Cid, The Bad Batch are contacted by former Clone Captain Rex. He's received a distress call from a former comrade, CC-5576 also known as Captain Gregor, from the planet Daro. Convinced by Omega that it's their duty to help, the team go to Daro to find the missing trooper. On Kamino, under direction from Vice Admiral Rampart, every clone trooper, young and old, in the cloning facility is ordered to leave the planet. Prime Minister Lama Su is even more concerned at these events as the Empire has cancelled all contracts with the Kaminoeans for any future cloning and so he arranges transport off planet for all essential workers including himself. Back on Daro while trying to locate Captain Gregor, Hunter discovers a massive hidden facility in the mountains. Security is high but despite the overwhelming odds Hunter, Tech and Echo find and free the missing Captain. During their escape, in a tussle with these new “TK” troopers, the Bad Batch discover these are not Clones. Captain Gregor reveals that this facility is filled with volunteers loyal to the Empire under Project “War-Mantle.” These new recruits are known as “Storm-Troopers” and there is an endless supply of them in the galaxy. With the Bad Batch stranded on top of the mountain pursued by Storm Troopers, Wrecker and Omega fly the Havoc Marauder in to save them. In the confusion of the rescue, Hunter falls out of reach and he orders the batch to leave him behind and they reluctantly comply and Hunter is taken prisoner. Meanwhile on Kamino, Vice Admiral Rampart discovers the Kaminoan escape plot and feeling that politicians will be of little use to him, Rampart takes Nala Se and her team of scientists with him and orders for the Prime Minister to stay behind. As Hunter stews in his prison cell on Daro he gets a visit from Crosshair. He was hoping they'd catch the full team, but Hunter will have to do. Hunter decides they must escape but Cid is waiting for them at their ship. She threatens to expose them unless they help to get her parlor back. As Roland is trying to prove he's a capable smuggler, Cid wants to embarrass him in front of his clients from the Pyke Syndicate. They are going to use Ord Mantall's vast cave network to sneak back to Cid's former office and steal the shipment, six cases of Spice, before the Pyke's can collect. There are only a few problems. They have to traverse the cave network in silence as it's infested with dangerous creatures called Irlings and Cid has entrusted her barflies, Bolo and Ketch, to create a distraction by kidnapping Durand's pet Ruby. Ruby proves too difficult to handle for the drunken duo and Durand is on the Bad Batch's trail far sooner than Cid had hoped. As Cid and the Bad Batch race back through the mines with the stolen spice, pursued by Durand's forces, the commotion awakens the hive of Irlings. They kill his forces, capture Durand and threaten to make his entire family pay for this slight. The Pykes hold Omega hostage and force the Bad Batch to retrieve their Spice or the kid gets it. In The Bad Batch Episode 12 the team are on a mission to free some political prisoners. We discuss all the spoilers about this episode in our latest podcast about "Rescue on Ryloth". The Bad Batch Episode 12 "Rescue on Ryloth" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni Episode Written by: Jennifer Corbett Story Editor: Nathaniel Villanueva Episode Directed By: Steward Lee Hera Syndulla is on the run on Ryloth. With her parents Cham and Eleni out of the way, on charges of attempted assassination, Vice Admiral Rampart tightens the Empire's grip on the planet rounding up Twi'lek insurgents. But his orders to round up peaceful citizens do not sit well with Captain Howzer or with other clones under his command. At an old base of Cham Syndulla his daughter, with help from Chopper, sends a distress signal to the Havoc Marauder to bring the Bad Batch to Ryloth. As they weigh up their plan of attack to rescue Hera's parents from their prison an Imperial probe droid alerts Crosshair to their arrival. Despite reservations about the mission Hunter focusses Tech, Wrecker, Omega, Hera and Chopper to attack the Imperial refinery to draw the Imperial forces away from the capital as Echo and him go after Cham and Eleni. At the refinery, plan A fails as Chopper is detected and is unable to deactivate the perimeter cannons. Omega and Hera enact a spur of the moment plan B using a transport ship to destroy the cannons allowing Tech and Wrecker to attack the refinery in the Havoc Marauder. Led by Vice Admiral Rampart and former Bad Batch member Crosshair they negotiate with former Republic Senator Orn Free Taa to bring the planet Ryloth into the expanding Empire. Tactical droids have become a very valuable commodity in the galaxy as they contain the cumulative information of the droid army on how to beat clones in warfare. Following their loss in the Clone Wars the droid army is being decommissioned at a facility on Corellia. The Bad Batch are sent to the facility to retrieve the data for an unknown buyer. As the Bad Batch carry out their mission they realise they aren't alone. Trace and Rafa Martez, sisters from Coruscant, get to the tactical droid's head and central processing unit first, but an alarm is triggered in the facility. The Bad Batch Episode 5 "Rampage" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni Episode Written by: Tamara Becher-Wilkinson Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz Episode Directed By: Steward Lee After their narrow escape from Pantora the Bad Batch go to Ord Mantell to research the bounty hunter chasing Omega. There they meet with former Jedi confidant Cid. Before she will give them the information they need, the team must go and recover a child called "Muchi" from some Zygerrian slavers. Their plan doesn't go well as the Bad Batch are captured. But Omega releases an adolescent caged Rancor and the Bad Batch are free. With the Rancor's help they take out the Zygerrians and free the slaves but realise "Muchi" the Rancor is the one they've come to save. Wrecker battles Muchi, establishing dominance and bringing her back to Cid. With their mission complete, Cid warns Hunter that the Bad Batch must be highly valuable targets as the bounty hunter Fennec Shand is particularly dangerous, but she couldn't find out who hired Fennec. Cid assures them she'll keep their secret and offers the Bad Batch future jobs, as Muchi is returned to her owner, Bib Fortuna, for transport to the palace of Jabba The Hutt on Tatooine. This week on Force Insensitive we discuss Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 4 - Cornered. Well, we don’t so much discuss the episode as we do our general feelings about the series so far. There is some love, there is some disappointment and there is some ambivalence. In the end we do get a much anticipated appearance, and some good easter eggs! As an added bonus: Blue Narcolepsy turns back the clock while Green Sativa tries to hold it in until he can sprint to the bathroom! This week we discuss The Bad Batch Episode 4 "Cornered". While on an emergency supply run to Pantora, the team run into a bounty hunter on a mission to retrieve Omega. The Bad Batch Episode 4 "Cornered" Synopsis Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni Episode Written by: Christian Taylor Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz Episode Directed By: Saul Ruiz On the run from the new Galactic Empire, Hunter decides on a new destination for the Bad Batch, the uninhabited planet of Idaflor. A perfect hideout for the team. But, now cut off from the Republic, the ship needs fuel, the team is out of rations, and the Imperial comm chatter has their ship signature. Tech proposes they make a pit stop on the planet Pantora where they can stock up and he can scramble their ship’s signature. Wrecker and Tech pay credits for the silence of Raspar 6, the Sullustan Depot manager at the Pantora Spaceport, but for even more credits he reveals the Bad Batch’s location to Bounty Hunter Fennec Shand who is on a mission to recover Omega from the team. While Wrecker and Tech repair the Havoc Marauder; Hunter, Omega and Echo disguised as a robot enter the city to resupply. They have to complete the mission quickly as the population is celebrating the end of the war as new Clone Troopers, marching through the street, arrive at their new posting. Hunter (temporarily) exchanges Robot Echo for the Imperial credits they need and Echo becomes a droid supervisor for a group of astromechs at the shop. As he bargains with the shop owner, Omega wanders off to chase down her new toy and is separated from Hunter. Fennec poses as a helpful passerby to abduct Omega while she’s on her own. Hunter tracks and frees Omega from Fennec’s clutches in a chase high above the streets of Pantora and they return to the Havoc Marauder. Fortunately, with the help of Echo’s new team of astromech repair droids, that he frees from their restraining bolt, the Bad Batch are ready to escape the planet just in time. But Fennec Shand reassures her employer that she will capture her target.
