In this episode of It's A Clue, we discuss Nancy Drew & The Secret of the Forgotten City! But first, we crash elaborate field trips, Karen learns why vacation is a thing, Kelly heeds the PSA, and we fangirl over The Residence.  Otherwise, this book was pretty “whelp”, but there were some (unintentionally) funny moments that put the shine back on our apple. In this book, George grabs a car snake by the face, everyone's terrible at archaeology, there are lots of overly complicated codes, Nancy completes a truly epic craft project, and a dude named Archie has strong “well actually” vibes while contributing nothing to the plot.  That said, we both have some feedback for Harriet on this one...Rated 6 out of 12 forged relicsRecommendations:TV Show: The ResidenceBook: Sunrise on the Reaping (new Hunger Games book by Suzanne Collins)Support the showhttps://www.instagram.com/itsacluepodcast/

In today's Daily Fix: Martyn Ware, co-founder of the 80's synth band Heaven 17 told Rockstar Games to "Go F*** Yourself" after getting a lowball offer for the band's song, Temptation. The license would have paid each of the song's three writers $7,500 to use the song in Grand Theft Auto 6, but it would include no royalties from the game. Considering that GTA 5 is one of the best-selling games of all time (and continues to sell to this day), Ware refused, even when other gamers argued that the amount was better than nothing. In other news, a modder has unlocked the full developer toolkit for Baldur's Gate 3, which could lead to complete custom campaigns and other content beyond what the "official" modding tools provide. We could see something along the scope of Fallout: London or The Forgotten City, both of which started as mods for Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, respectively. And finally, Sony has announced a PS5 technical presentation for tomorrow at 8am Pacific. Join us here at IGN for the stream, after the event for a live Beyond! episode where we break down all the news.

It's a Leap Year, and the strange minds at Indieventure have taken this as a sign that we need to do a thematically appropriate episode about a gaming trope all three of us happen to love! Yes, since 2024 has an extra day, we decided to dedicate that sliver of bonus time to talk all about time loops. Trust us, it makes sense. Because of the fluid nature of this discussion we don't limit ourselves just to indie games on this occasion, although they remain a heavy focus because, y'know, if there's a good theme out there then there's 10 great indies and a couple of solid AAs to every AAA that nailed it, right? In this episode we talk about a whole bunch of timey-wimey titles including Deathloop, The Forgotten City, Hades, Heaven's Vault, In Stars and Time, Layers of Fear, Life Is Strange, Outer Wilds, P.T., The Sexy Brutale, Slay the Princess, The Stanley Parable, and Ultros. We also touch upon a few other games that aren't technically about time loops but evoke similar feelings thanks to the iterative way you're encouraged to play, such as Frostpunk and Hitman. We follow this up with a shorter discussion about how the shared experience of the pandemic has influenced storytelling in indie games in general, including but not limited to a notably increased use of the time loop trope; touching on 1000xRESIST, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, Full Void, Goodbye Volcano High, In Stars and Time (again), Mediterranea Inferno, and Roman Sands RE:Build. That's not even a comprehensive list of our favourite time loop games, and we could literally have talked about this for another several episodes. Sadly, unlike the inhabitants of a time loop, we need to wrap things up eventually — but not before we share our latest hyperfixations! Rebecca has rather unexpectedly finished Romancelvania, and extremely unsurprisingly recently re-watched the live action Ace Attorney movie; Liam has caved to Rachel's influence and begun watching The Traitors, and has also finished playing Stardew Valley (apparently that's a thing you can do?!); and Rachel has been watching True Detective: Night Country, the fourth season of the acclaimed weird crime thriller anthology series which is finally back after a five-year hiatus.

Today, a popular beach in Barceloneta, it was once home to up to 15,000 people living in shacks and huts built on sand. The radio version ran from 4 October 1952 to 19 March 1955, for 129 episodes. The same cast performed on both shows. The writers, scripts, and directors were reused between the radio and TV incarnations, but the radio broadcasts were not limited by studio sets and became more expensive in scope than the television programs. Although there was seldom any deliberate crossing-over of storylines, some of the television villains regularly appeared on the radio (notably Prince Bacarratti), and during the "Planet X" story, both the TV and radio versions explored the rogue planet's invasion of the Space Patrol universe. While the radio series lacked the sophistication of sci-fi shows like the later X Minus One, it was enjoyed as a throwback to the Golden Age of space opera popularized in the 1930s by pioneering magazine editor Hugo Gernsback. Only 117 of the original broadcasts survive. 97 are on the OTR site and a few others on torrent sites. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dwight-allen0/support

"The settlement of Poverty Point, occupied from about 1700 to 1100 BC and once the largest city in North America, stretches across 345 acres in northeastern Louisiana. The structural remains of this ancient site-its earthen mounds, semicircular ridges, and vacant plaza-intrigue visitors as a place of artistic inspiration as well as an archaeological puzzle. Poverty Point: Revealing the Forgotten City delves his enduring piece of Louisiana's cultural heritage through personal introspection and scientific exploration. With stunning black and white photography by Jenny Ellerbe and engrossing text by archaeologist Diana M. Greenlee, this imaginative and informative book explores in full Poverty Point's Late Archaic culture and its monumental achievements.   This week in Louisiana history. May 18, 1896. Those golden boys get all Groundhogs Day in Ancient Rome in this adventure mystery game. What started as a one man made popular mod for Skyrim, and turned into a standalone game by a small dedicated team, turns out to be a short but sweet snack of a game. You play as a character dropped into an Ancient Roman city that was built underground in an open cavern. The populace of the city has a problem: if any one of them commit a sin, the God of this realm will turn everyone to gold, and of course this is the one day everybody decides to get their sinning in! You get tasked with uncovering who is planning on sinning, as well as discovering the origins of the curse placed upon the city. It is a really captivating story, with charming dialogue and a stellar setting and atmosphere, and we recorded a banger of an episode. Enjoy! Important PS: We spoil every bit of the narrative in this especially narrative driven game, so listen with caution!

Welcome to Xbox Game Passengers. Once a month, host Derek and a guest will dissect and discuss just one game available on Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service, which was chosen for them (usually) at random. Whether the game is a magical or a horrible experience, they'll force themselves through it, share their thoughts, and let you know whether or not the game is worth your time! At the end of each episode, they'll also randomly select the game for the following show, so you always know what's coming up on the next adventure. This month, it's time for a time-looping mystery with Skyrim mod turned full game The Forgotten City, and for the first time in quite some time, Derek is joined by a brand-new guest! The Forgotten City is a mystery adventure game of exploration and deduction, and a re-imagining of the critically acclaimed mod that won a national Writers' Guild award and racked up over 3 million downloads. Combat is an option, but violence will only get you so far. Only by questioning an intertwined community of colourful characters, cleverly exploiting the time loop, and making difficult moral choices can you hope to solve this epic mystery. Here, your decisions matter. The fate of the city is in your hands. Listen to find out how things went, and if you like what you've heard, please let us know! Learn more about your ad choices. When your Skyrim mod is so involved that it just becomes its own game. Who doesn't love a good mystery? Well, truthfully the inhabitants of this idyllic Roman city aren't big fans, but they do have a compelling reason. You see, if any citizen commits a sin in their little paradise, the whole town pays with their lives. Your job is to travel back in time to figure out who dunnit... but unlike Clue, you wanna solve this crime before it actually happens. Yeah, we agree it is pretty trippy, but the developers at Modern Storyteller must have it all figured out.
