Welcome to Episode #79 of the Red Ink Revival Leadership Podcast. Today's conversation is with Adam Young. Adam is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with Master's Degrees in both Social Work and Divinity. He is a certified colleague of The Allender Center, co-founded by renowned psychologist Dr. Dan Allender and our previous Red Ink Revival guest therapist Cathy Loerzel. Dr. Allender and his trained clinicians–including Adam Young–are the foremost thinkers on Story Work. Adam is a certified EMDR clinician, which addresses trauma and brain function. He has also served as a pastor in a local church. Adam's podcast, The Place We Find Ourselves, is a favorite. Adam's practice is in Fort Collins, Colorado. Today Adam and I talk about attachments, and how they organize all of our relationships including our leadership connections. Our conversation includes the following: * Adam's faith story and how he became a therapist. * Why historical story work is so important for people–especially pastors and leaders–to explore. * What an attachment style is, the four kinds of attachments, and how our brains evolved with our own style. * How pastors and leaders are better leaders when they know the truth behind their own stories and attachment style. * What Scripture has to offer us to compel us to dig into attachments. * How to “earn” a secure attachment style. * How early childhood development of the brain and attachment has informed our instincts in relating with romantic partners, friends, and even God. * How spiritual disciplines and exercises are experienced differently based on individual attachment styles. * How repentance looks different for those with different attachment styles. * How pastoral preaching is styled after the pastor's own attachment style. * How attachment predisposes us to emotional flooding and dysregulation. * How knowing the truth of our stories in the context of our family of origin is critical to repentance and healing. Today Adam and Rosie talk about pregnancy and birth, giving plans you can use to move forward with your pregnancy and preparing for what's to come. Rosie explains that it would have been nice to have prepared for getting an epidural, about which she didn't have a complete understanding when it came time to decide and had no coping mechanism in place to help prepare her. We discuss the pros and cons of hospital birth and home birth and what you should do beforehand so that you're ready for either one. Thinking about birth plans 2:18Epidurals and pain relief 4:01The stigma of home birth 7:32One of the key things Rosie learned in the hypnobirthing course 10:31What the consultants might not like 19:41A cute thing that happened to us 23:29“That was another little tip. Tell the receptionist what type of birth plan you have, and if possible you'd like a match. Then that way there's no hostility and contention when you get on the ward and you've been mismatched. Many people new to trading, and even many veterans, have a very limited view of Technical Analysis. They often see it as merely a tool used for analysing market price action, or may hold beliefs which may lead them to be sceptical or even cynical about its usefulness or validity. Yet, technical analysis is far more than merely a tool for analysing the market price action, it can provide an entire framework for your trading. This includes helping improve timing of discretionary actions, forming the core underpinnings of systematic or quant-based approaches, enhancing your fundamental trading views, and even being a vital part of your risk management approach. In this episode we talk to Adam Sorab. Adam is a partner at a UK based hedge fund and someone with a deep and long history in the financial markets within trading and investment roles. Adam has played an active role as a significant user of technical analysis, and has also held a major role in some of the world's leading Technical Analysis Institutions. As you will hear, Adam is one of the most informed people on all things technical analysis and how to use it effectively and productively.Today Adam is a partner at Aptior Capital, a distressed debt hedge fund based in the UK. Prior to that, and for over a decade, he was head of technical research and product specialist sales at the hedge fund giant CQS where he produced technical analysis-based investment research and strategy for their traders and portfolio managers. Prior to that Adam held various roles, including his early years' experience as an FX trader at the Swiss Investment Bank Credit Suisse, and head of Absolute Return strategies at Deutsche Bank Asset Management. Adam holds a Honours Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and has been heavily involved with our sponsorship partner the Society of Technical Analysts (the STA) where he was formerly chairman and remains a member of their ‘Investment committee'. Adam was also president of the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA), the global body which the STA is itself a constituent member of. Today Adam and I wanted to discuss something that many people take for granted, including Adam, who used to really not make it a priority in his life, but now can see how important it is for progress. Our bodies are designed to react according to our situations and if we're constantly stressing ourselves out, everything will be off, such as our appetite or ability to sleep, and so on. Rosie's main tactic is making sure she gets enough rest to ease the pressure and stress in her life. You also need to feel good about yourself, or feel like you're presentable, and this can be done through exercise, nutrition, or taking care of your aesthetic side. Why we need to focus on self care 2:01Rosie's self care 6:45Use this technique for your own self care 10:28Naps 16:46Adam's list 18:39“If you've got somebody in your life that doesn't value self care as much as you do, the one thing that shifted for me, other than when our third child Daithi was born, and just literally the need. And I think that's where I saw it shift from having this misconception and this myth that taking care of yourself and looking out for yourself is luxury. I saw that it then became a basic need of life.” 20:09https://www.facebook.com/theirishmummy/https://www.instagram.com/the_irish_mummy/https://www.theirishmummy.com
While debt is often (justifiably) framed in a negative light there are ways to utilize and structure it for your benefit. Today Adam and Ari dive into differentiating good debt and bad debt, and how the binary view some personalities have with debt has a beneficial message for a wide audience, but can be edited when speaking to individuals with different goals.
Hi listeners. A quick note before we start the usual trailer. We recorded this using Zencastr which unfortunately didn't allow us to save Antoine's audio. So the audio quality for this episode is going to be less than stellar because we had to extract the audio from the video file and then edit with that. Anyway. Enough with the technical stuff. Today you came here to talk about MMO's. That is the title of this week's episode: “Making MMO's Matter”. It was recorded on May 18th, 2021. Today Adam, Phil and Antoine look at MMO's from different lenses. Antoine is going to compare the classes in Final Fantasy 14 and World of Warcraft. Adam is going to talk about the clash of cultures in a game like Black Desert Online. Lastly Phil is going to end the show talking about something we all love. Warhammer. He's going to talk about the latest hot mobile MMO: Warhammer Odyssey and the existence of these kinds of games on mobile phones. We conclude the show talking about the plans for the week and an exciting new topic for the podcast next week. MMO's Covered Today: 1. https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/ (Final Fantasy 14) 2. https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/ (World of Warcraft) 3. https://www.blackdesertonline.com/ (Black Desert Online) 4. https://warhammerodyssey.com/ (Warhammer Odyssey)

Adam Taylor spent years as one of the top BMX photographers in the country before changing career paths to Real Estate and architecture photography. Adam found that he could grow his earnings by licensing the photos he took of high-end homes, to the cabinet, faucet, tile, and furniture manufacturers. Today Adam breaks down how to adopt the licensing mindset and start making more with your images in this interview. In This Episode You'll Learn: How Adam got started in photography What shooting BMX taught him about being a better business later in life What is licensing How to license your photos Who to license your photos to The differences between a real estate image and one you would shoot for a brand to license What gear you need for real estate photography Resources: Adam Taylor’s website Adam Taylor’s Learn to License Your Photos Course - Save 25% by using the promo code “Beginner” at check out Adam Taylor on Instagram Standout Quotes: "If you're shooting for a product company, you want that product to be in focus, you want it to be the star of the show" - [Adam] "The first step in protecting yourself is having a conversation with your client" - [Adam] "I would rather not sell my photos than sell them for 12 cents each" - [Adam] Key Takeaways: Adam explains the role of having a focused mindset and asking for help, in pulling through the setbacks he faced as a learning photographer. The licensing mindset is about more than how to license a photo, it encompasses the different avenues by which photographers can maximally monetize their pictures. Companies that would purchase licensed photos are typically companies that are involved in the production or sales of items in the photos. Adam explains different ways to connect with companies that potentially would value your photos enough to pay for them. The first step in protecting yourself is having a conversation with your client, so they understand what they are allowed to do with the photos. Comparing with third party stock photo websites, the major difference is how you upload, the price you get, and how people get the images

Hi listeners, no it is not Adam but me Crian. I am helping out with the trailer and show notes for The Game Show. I have been sick this past week and still waiting for my voice to recover. This episode was recorded on December 22nd 2020. Today Adam talks about games he would give to family, and friends. He also manages to cover my list as well so a big thanks to him for that. So you are going to get a total of 8 games. He talks about Overcooked 2, Kerbal Space Program, Donut County, Just Dance 2021, Warhammer: Mechanicus, Stardew Valley, Farmville: Country Escape and Shogun: Total War 2. Boy, that was a mouthful. A little difficult but satisfying for those willing to get past the learning curve. https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP2470-CUSA10062_00-DONUTSIEA0000000 (Donut County) The famous puzzler that resembles Katamari in some way but is its own beast. Today Adam and Tanner bring in guest Leiland Tanner, the musician who worked with Adam to create the intro music for the podcast. Leiland is a ball of spiritual energy and someone who brings a lot to the table that most saints - including Adam and Tanner - don't even think about it. He's an expert on godly symbolism and its power and we go deep on how it applies from something as basic as how our food is presented to what our mindset should be when we participate in the temple endowment.

Adam Bossie is the cofounder and CEO of Afficionado Coffee Roasters, but he wasn't always a coffee connoisseur. Like many entrepreneurs he played in many fields and started various businesses. It was during his full time gig as a financial analyst and compliance associate that he became disillusioned and yearned to return his entrepreneurial roots. That's when he decided to quit his day job and pursue his passion of coffee roasting . He started roasting coffee on his mom's bbq on the weekends and peddling it at local farmers markets in New Jersey. Eventually, Adam struck out and traveled to the places coffee grows and fell in love with the culture, the craftsmanship, and the unparalleled hospitality he experienced across Africa and Central & South Americas. After forming relationships with these local farmers Afficianado Coffee Roasters began it's journey. Today Adam oversees daily operations of Afficionado and acts as the company's lead visionary. He tells Michael about his family roots in entrepreneurship and how his parents influenced him in that mindset. Plus, his formula for success by way of failure and passion for what you do.
