In this episode of Seasoned with Salt, titled "Too Legit to Quit," we dive into the powerful story of Mephibosheth, a man who experienced life-altering setbacks from the moment of his birth. Dropped as a child and left physically disabled, Mephibosheth's journey seemed destined for obscurity and despair. However, God had a different plan for his life. Through this sermon, we explore how God's grace reaches us in our lowest places and transforms our stories, no matter how broken or forgotten we feel. Mephibosheth's story reminds us that despite being dropped, overlooked, or written off, we are not disqualified from God's favor. Tune in as we discuss how God's intervention can elevate us from obscurity to prominence, and why, no matter the circumstances, we are "too legit to quit." --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/seasonedwithsalt/support

Now 150 pounds lighter and with a running streak approaching 900 days. Ingrid is inspiring change and motivating others. About the book A legit business: one that's proof-of-concept tested, compliant and connecting with your customer. For real. Practical and frank, 100 Days of Brave is the ultimate guidebook for building a business that will thrive. It's for women who want to live life on their terms, enjoying the freedom that entrepreneurship provides – but who haven't the mentors to get their show on the road. Whether you're on the cusp of beginning a part-time hustle or you're in the throes of start-up, 100 Days of Brave presents you with an achievable roadmap to testing and working your business concept. Source: https://iolanthegabrie.com/books/ About the author Iolanthe never imagined herself at the helm of a thriving brand. But after a detour from academia in Dublin and a wrestle with retail management, Iolanthe crossed the final frontier: she became an estate agent and an auctioneer. Iolanthe's family and friends were about as impressed with this decision as you might imagine – but her intuition served her well: real estate is the ultimate bootcamp for business. In its arid soil, Iolanthe learned to connect with prospects, to market her negotiation skills and to have difficult conversations about money with an agitated public. After a successful career in property, Iolanthe launched Ruby Assembly in 2009, intuiting that social media would play an important role in global marketing in the years to come. She was right. Serving a diversity of professional categories from real estate to law, finance to franchise and local governments to psychics – Ruby Assembly enjoys a fine reputation for inimitable social media and digital marketing content that connects. An engaging and generous speaker, prolific business writer and marketing strategy mentor, Iolanthe shares her passion and expertise for very good business via Serious Women's Business, a 500-strong networking group based in Melbourne. Source: https://iolanthegabrie.com/about/ Big idea #1 – Being Brave The book is split into three sections. Brave beginnings, building brave and being brave. Ultimately it is about building the brave muscle, the mindsets, the skills, the actions, and the activities, that you need to bring your idea to life as a business or as a side hustle. We don't have to be creating the next unicorn or tech venture, and Iolanthe is very strong on the fact that any business is a start-up, so whether you are walking dogs, financing multi-billion-dollar mergers or acquisitions deals, all of this is relevant to you. By the end of part one of the book, you almost forget that you needed any bravery at all. The advice in the book is so practical and outlines what you have to do, you can go off and do it. There's also lots of good advice in there about what to worry about and what not to. Bravery is also required to avoid some of the noise - those awkward questions from your family, friends, and ex-colleagues. And that's before you've even needed to dig into the bravery required for hard client conversations and feedback. Big idea #2 – Brains & Guts Brave involves both knowing your stuff and knowing yourself. Iolanthe talks about how you do need to tap into a bit of intuition, a bit of your internal knowledge, to do some of the things that you will need to do as a business owner. But your business foundation can't be based on woo woo, or intuition alone. You do need to have some substance behind it. Iolanthe provides a really good amount of caution to those drawn to the Instagram fantasy or influencer types that lie to you about the reality of running a small business and getting one off the ground. She talks you through defining your initial offering, tricky legal things to avoid, money, hiring, firing, marketing, business development, prospecting, and SEO. She also covers what you should consider for branding, what to outsource and how to surprise and delight your clients and customers. Big idea #3 – Too Legit to Quit The first part of the book is about getting clear on your business. The second part is more about creating legitimacy and looking at the part. You can do this by creating branding that's fitting, professional and walks the talk of your work. You need to be findable, trustworthy, clear, and consistent. It doesn't need to cost millions to do this, and it is a marathon not a sprint. This is the stuff to outsource (branding, copy, photography, building a website or even social media) because it's probably the stuff that you're going to put off or you might not have the skills to do and may take you longer. But once you've got this stuff down, it becomes the baseline for having some fun with your business which allows you to make it your own and make it memorable. This week on Albummer! we're talking about Too Legit for The Pit: Hardcore Takes the Rap, a collection of mostly ironic guitar covers of hip hop hits that sure as hell didn't age well.
#63 - In this episode, we wanted to circle back. It's been a little while since we've actually jumped on the podcast, talk to our audience, so much has happened since we started off the year.Kevin's going to be a father in the next couple of months. Bertrand is rocking the community with Hammertime and our athletes are just flourishing right now.
#57 - One of my favorite parts of our podcast is being able to highlight incredible members of our community. When I met Patrick last year, he was a newlywed - preparing for his first marathon. A virtual event that he was able to complete thanks to the help of Coach B and Too Legit Fitness. At the time, he was still learning about tapering, and what it meant to toe the line for 26.2 miles. Little did I know the incredible fitness journey that he's been on, and how he's lost nearly 70 pounds since 2018 in his late 30s.In this episode, you'll learn how Patrick rekindled a love for physical activity after a long sedentary period. The advice for overweight runners that he wish he knew when he started. Why a chance encounter on a race course changed his fitness journey. And the benefits of having a running coach such as Coach B for hitting your goals.
#56 - Irina is a rockstar physical therapist and a valued member of the RaceMob and Too Legit communities. Her nickname is Rocket - and she recently opened her own business - Rocket Physical Therapy. On today's episode, we dive into Irina's start, and how she got into one of the most prestigious PT schools in the country. We dive into the lessons she's learned from years of running, and over a decade of working with other runners. She tells us the short daily routine that can help prevent injury, why dynamic warmups are so crucial, and the important post workout routine that speeds up recovery.Plus - we dive into how this busy mother of two finds the time to train for Boston, and start a new practice in the midst of a pandemic.
#55 - On today's episode, we break down all the latest news from RaceMob and the running world, including updates from our Cut the Crap Challenge with Tony Julian, our takeaways from the town hall Q&A featuring Kevin Vandy, life updates from Coach "B" and myself, recapping Western States, including how some of our podcast guests actually did during the event, and finally we recap the Olympic trials in Eugene

#41 - This is a great conversation with a well respected, veteran podcasting crew. We met Tommy and India through a discussion we were invited to in September of 2020. That discussion brought together podcasters from around the world to discuss the importance of inclusion and diversity in our sport. Before we get into the episode notes, I want to just take a few minutes to talk about something that's on my mind:As an Asian American male, I've often felt uncomfortable speaking out on matters of inclusion and diversity. I'm still learning about the challenges and struggles that my partner and so many in the African American community have had to deal with due to systemic racism. My approach has been to listen, uncover the stories, and amplify them. But recently, there has been an unsettling number of hate crimes towards Asians - including a recent incident in Atlanta. And there was a heinous crime in Boulder, Colorado just this week - in the same city where I went to college and a few blocks from where I lived. While the motives are unclear, what is obvious is that these violent crimes have become all too prevalent. For too long, we've had powerful leaders, media outlets, and social media algorithms that have capitalized on hate. They amplify it and funnel it to fuel their own agenda. That's why it's more important than ever to be intentional when building communities. We all have an obligation to be inclusive, to make sure our clubs, organizations, and teams are diverse. We're so fortunate as runners to be able to bond over a common love for the sport, and the appreciation for the hard work that it takes to get over the finish line. I'm so fortunate to partner with Bertrand - because you can see the diversity and enthusiasm that his group Too Legit naturally carries. That's why at RaceMob, we're not so focused on bringing in "high ticket" sales or attracting "affluent" market segments. We're intent on inspiring health and fitness to everyone, but it's especially important that we bring health, wellness, and hope to those who need it. Especially those who don't know where to start. We've seen how it's impacted our lives, not only our health, mental acuity, and confidence, but especially the emotional benefits of having a strong community.Ok, thank you for listening to this important tangent, and now for the notes. You're going to love this incredible conversation with the Run Duo Podcast. We dive into the Publix Atlanta races - yes, real live races! We chat about the importance of diversity and important steps that we're seeing towards inclusion, India breaks down her recent experience getting coaching certified and the unique program she's coaching with, plus dive into some podcasting tips from these industry veterans. All of the show notes can be found online at racemob.com/podcast
Jamie and Mike discuss their PTSD from watching "The Day After" and growing up during the Cold War. Jamie's inability to sleep with his feet off the end of the bed due to the horror movie "Trilogy of Terror". The Too Legit to Quit hand gesture, drum machines, samples, incels, 4Chan, and progressive songs from 1991, not being so progressive in 2020. Mike talks about making the OZZY video, and for the first time on the show, has to pause the episode to go poop. It wouldn't be an episode of GSOH if Jamie and Mike didn't argue about album grades. So of course that happens. The History and Legacy of “Mystery Science Theater 3000”, Chapter 12: Well-Oiled Machine. We celebrate 50 amazing episodes with a very special hour!Sure, "The Deadly Bees" and "The Space Children" are discussed. My favorite David Lynch cinematographer comes up. The Professor from "Gilligan's Island" is in fact killed in his sleep by a giant jelly brain from Heaven. MC Hammer does factor in somehow. All of these things are true and acknowledged. But the most special part? A huge conversation about "The Addams Family" (the original series and two awesome movies). How did Raul Julia's portrayal of Gomez help your wonky yet affable host feel represented in American culture? Why are the Addams' the most well-adjusted family in television history? In the brief period where MC Hammer sold millions of records, he was tapped to record an original song to promote The Addams Family. His song for that film, Addams Groove, is notable for many things, not the least of which is that it was Hammer’s last top ten single. The song also received the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Original Song that year, even going so far as to beat out Vanilla Ice’s titular song from Cool As Ice. That being said, the song was successful enough to see inclusion on Too Legit to Quit as a bonus track.
Before Wrestlemania 32, MANY historians recorded that Summerslam 1992 was the biggest show in company history as far as attendance goes legitimately and it is indeed the topic of the latest episode of the Lucha Bros as we take a look back at the summer sizzler from Wembley Stadium. This is part one of a two part series going through the history of the show and the matches. This edition covers some real wackyness including: Why the venue moved to the UK, Draven's Hall of Fame moment of clarity, MARK REN's live thoughts via Twitter PM, The Legion of Doom's last night as Hawk vanishes, the Drug Issues of 1992, Too Legit 2 Quit Virgil introduces us to Fuck Money, Sensational Sherri's abnormally large and perfect ass, Rick Martel vs. Shawn Michaels in the "no Punches to the face" match, the tag team program makes no sense, and MORE.
