With over 300 partners integrated into the Procore Marketplace, Procore is helping drive collaboration and build a startup ecosystem within a construction industry that is rapidly evolving. Kris is an industry insider who has played numerous roles inside a construction company from project engineer to leading cutting edge construction tech deployments in the field. He shares why, short of Tooey, he thinks he has the best job at Procore, why an open platform & ecosystem approach is critical to the future of construction, what challenges still exist at both the GC & sub-contractor levels, and “What's hot and what's hype” in emerging ConTech trends. Finally, Kris gives a refreshingly open answer to why he would never tell his partner ecosystem to only integrate with Procore.

Craig "Tooey" Courtemanche is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Procore Technologies. Beginning his professional life as a builder, Tooey has always been passionate about building things and straddled two worlds that felt disconnected: construction and technology. Discovering the world of software in the 1990s, Tooey left his professional real estate developer career to immerse himself in the Silicon Valley tech boom. Working in San Francisco inspired him to found his first web startup which enabled Fortune 1000 companies to transition from analog to web services. It was here that he learned firsthand the impact digital transformation could have on different industries. In 2002, Tooey brought his two passions, technology and construction, together and started Procore. He set out to build a company that connected everyone in construction on a global platform, and thus improved the lives of everyone in construction. He knew the best way to do this was to invest in culture from day one and has since created a culture of Procorians who have empathy for the industry they serve and thrive when they’re on-site with customers, working alongside them to develop solutions to the challenges they face. For the last 17 years, Procore has been winning awards for its customer-first products and culture-first teams. Molly Mabray is a 10-year old Gwich'in, Koyukon and Dena'ina Athabascan girl who learns about her history and culture while having fun with her dog, Suki, and friends, Tooey and Trini. She is the main character of the new animated PBS series, Molly of Denali, starting in July. In the first episode she sets out to get her grandfather’s long lost drum returned and learns about the history of boarding schools along the way. It is the first nationally distributed children’s series to feature an Alaska Native lead. In this hour we’ll talk with the creator and cultural advisors to this groundbreaking series.
Connect the Dots with Rachel Ratner of Seattle band Wimps! (PS: Her new album Garbage People drops July 13 and she's embarking on a national tour to celebrate)! She’s a musician, songwriter, vocalist, ten year veteran of KEXP and a web developer, to boot. She’s also the creator of the Seattle Band Map, which is why I call her “a true DIY punk rock connector!” The open-source Seatle Band Map connects all musicians from walks of life, visually exposing just how each band and individual musician overlaps. Spoiler alert: They overlap A LOT. Isn't it weird how we sometimes forget how our output entangles with others? Entanglements--or connections--are the real reward of a full life and a great artistic journey. Today we talk about forging friendships with other artists, DIY touring (and yes, we touch upon my favorite subject, Japan), her work with iconic Seattle radio station KEXP, being kind always, and--of course--connecting! I hope this episode inspires you to connect someone else and, in turn, be connected. It's that easy.
