(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Police arrest Christians in India for evangelism On February 23rd, police arrested nine Christians in two locations in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India for holding Sunday prayer meetings, which Hindu groups alleged were intended to convert Hindus, reports ChurchinChains. Five Christians, including a pastor, were arrested in Sitapur district, where a case was registered following a complaint by Anuj Bhadauria, the district coordinator of a Hindu nationalist organization named Bajrang Dal. Plus, four others, including a pastor, were arrested in Raebareli district. In each case, the Christians had gathered for regular Sunday prayers in a home when a Hindu mob barged in and alleged that they were defaming the Hindu religion, and its deities, and offering inducements to convert people. Police seized Bibles and other religious materials as evidence of conversion activities. Over one hundred Christians are reportedly being held in different jails across Uttar Pradesh state, with 35 jailed so far in 2025. Christians make up less than one percent of the 200 million people who live in the state there in India. The Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act 2021, a strict anti-conversion law, was amended last year to include harsher punishments including life imprisonment for religious conversion activities. Many Indian Christians find solace in Joshua 1:9 which says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Trump's pro-America speech wins accolades Last Tuesday night, President Donald Trump addressed a joint session of Congress. (Read the transcript here) TRUMP: “America is back! (applause) Six weeks ago, I stood beneath the dome of this Capitol and proclaimed the dawn of the golden age of America.” CBS News polled Americans and discovered that 91% said the 47th president actually discussed issues that were important to them, and 74% said the address was entertaining. Overall, a total of 71% said the speech was inspiring. Trump used humor to address the border and wasteful spending No doubt, Trump's description of his policies was indeed entertaining. Listen to what he had to say about the border. TRUMP: “The media, and our friends in the Democrat Party, kept saying we needed new legislation. We must have legislation to secure the border, but it turned out that all we really needed -- was a new president.” (cheers) He was equally entertaining as he described the waste that the Department of Government Efficiency has identified under the leadership of Elon Musk. TRUMP: “Just listen to some of the appalling waste we have already identified. “$22 billion from HHS to provide free housing and cars for illegal aliens. $45 million for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion scholarships in Burma. $40 million to improve the social and economic inclusion of sedentary migrants. Nobody knows what that is. (laughter) $8 million to promote LGBTQI+ in the African nation of Lesotho, which nobody has ever heard of. (laughter) $8 million for making mice transgender. (laughter) This is real. … “Under the Trump administration, all of these scams have been found out and exposed and swiftly terminated by a group of very intelligent, mostly young people, headed up by Elon [Musk]. And we appreciate it. We found hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud.” (applause) Post-abortive women have higher suicide rate In a new topic-blind study, 2,829 American women, between ages 41 and 45, were surveyed about their reproductive health and suicide attempts, reports LifeNews.com. Authored by Elliot Institute Director David Reardon and published in The Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics & Gynecology, the study found that women who had abortions or natural pregnancy loss were twice as likely to attempt to end their lives. The research sought to discern whether post-abortive suicide attempts are “entirely incidental and most likely fully explained by pre-existing mental illness,” as some have claimed, or directly related to the loss of life in the womb. To garner unbiased results, the respondents were completely in the dark as to what the purpose of the research was. Among women with a history of abortion, 35% of them had attempted suicide. Even women who did not have abortions, but lost their babies due to miscarriages or problematic pregnancies, had suicide attempt rates of roughly 30%. Notably, the research found that women who were coerced into having abortions had the highest rates of suicide at 46% of whom tried to end their own lives. Only 13% of women who had successful deliveries with no abortions, no miscarriages, no problems within the pregnancies were found to have made suicide attempts — the lowest rates among all surveyed women. Trump DOJ ends Biden lawsuit to force Idaho to allow ‘emergency' abortions The Trump administration has ended a Biden-era attempt to force Idaho pro-life doctors to participate in so-called “emergency” abortions, but a federal judge is still attempting to delay the law's enforcement, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Idaho's Defense of Life Act bans all abortions except those deemed “necessary to prevent the death of the pregnant woman.” On Wednesday, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America reported that the new Justice Department under President Donald Trump has moved to drop the case, ending the federal government's efforts to invalidate the Idaho Defense of Life Act. Actor Chris Pratt: “I care enough about Jesus to take a stand!” And finally, Chris Pratt has built a career on playing heroes — from the lovable goofball Andy Dwyer on "Parks and Recreation" to Marvel's Star-Lord, he's won over audiences with his humor and charm. But his greatest mission, said the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star, is far bigger than Hollywood, reports The Christian Post. After having listened to the entire Bible, Leah Klett asked Pratt which Scripture has had the most profound impact on his life. PRATT: “Matthew 5:14. Being a light in this world, a city on a hill cannot be hidden. I'm being called to be that city on the hill at this moment in my life. I feel like you take a risk. I think being in the entertainment world, being vocal about anything that's divisive, religion is divisive. I do care enough about Jesus to take a stand, even if it cost me. If it costs me everything, I don't care. It's worth it to me, because this is what I'm called to do, is where my heart is. “I'm a father of four. I want to raise my children up with an understanding that their dad was unashamed of his faith in Jesus, and with a profound understanding of the power of prayer and the grace and the love and the joy that can come from a relationship with Jesus. That's something that's really important to me. You don't hear that a lot from people in entertainment, but it's who I am. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. So, get back to Matthew 5:14.” Now there's a Hollywood star whose knee bends to his Savior Jesus Christ. Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, March 10th, in the year of our Lord 2025. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Vietnamese pastor harassed and arrested by Communists Pastor Nguyen Manh Hung, age 71, was arrested on January 16th for a Facebook post that criticized Vietnam's communist government, reports International Christian Concern. Authorities charged Nguyen with promoting “anti-state propaganda,” a charge that carries a maximum of 20 years in prison. Police reportedly cut off the power to the pastor's home, entered the home, and arrested the pastor. Officers also confiscated documents, laptops, and phones. Matthew 5:10 says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.” Authorities have harassed Pastor Nguyen several times in the last 15 years. But he has continued to publicly challenge corruption and human rights abuses from the communist government, including appearing in 2015 before a U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Sub-Committee investigating violations of religious freedoms in Vietnam. According to Open Doors, Vietnam is the 44th worst country worldwide for the persecution of Christians. Trump: “America will always be one nation under God!” President Donald Trump spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast yesterday which was held in the Washington Hilton, reports The Christian Post. TRUMP: “From the earliest days of our republic, faith in God has always been the ultimate source of the strength that beats in the hearts of our nation. America is and will always be one nation under God.” President Trump referred to the Christian faith of John Winthrop, a Puritan lawyer who helped found the Massachusetts colony, and Roger Williams, a Puritan minister who founded Providence Plantations which became Rhode Island. TRUMP: “Just steps away from here, in the Hall of Columns, is the statue of John Winthrop, who famously proclaimed that America would stand as a city upon a hill, a light to all nations. “In that same hall, we also find the statue of the great Roger Williams, who founded the state of Rhode Island, named its capital city, Providence, and built the First Baptist Church in America. It's Williams that we have to thank for making religious liberty part of the bedrock of American life, and today, we must protect the fundamental freedom with absolute devotion.” Trump forms task force to stop anti-Christian bias in government President Trump indicated he would form a task force to stop anti-Christian bias in the federal government. TRUMP: “Today, I'm signing an executive order to make our Attorney General, Pam Bondi, the head of a task force, brand new, to eradicate anti-Christian bias. The mission of this task force will be to immediately halt all forms of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government, including at the DOJ, which was absolutely terrible, the IRS, the FBI and other agencies. “In addition, the task force will work to fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society and to move Heaven and Earth to defend the rights of Christians and religious believers nationwide.” That task force will be a welcome respite after four years of demonstrable anti-Christian bias at Biden's Department of Justice and the FBI. District Judge has delayed Trump deadline for federal workers to take buyout Yesterday, a federal judge has delayed a midnight deadline issued by the Trump administration for federal workers to make a buyout choice as more than 60,000 staffers have already opted to take the offer, reports NewsNationNow.com. Millions of U.S. government employees had been facing a Thursday deadline to decide whether to accept a buyout offer from the Trump administration or remain in their position. Those who chose to stay still risked being laid off. U.S. District Judge George O'Toole, a Bill Clinton appointee, ruled in favor of several labor unions that had requested a temporary restraining order against the plan spearheaded by Trump adviser Elon Musk. The judge didn't express an opinion on the legality of the program and directed administration officials to extend the deadline to apply for the program until after a hearing scheduled for this Monday. President Trump's push to reduce the size of the government is unprecedented, causing turmoil in Washington, and triggering protests and union concerns over potential legal violations. So far, more than 60,000 employees, about 2% of the federal civilian workforce, have accepted the buyout with more expected to join them. It remains unclear how many of the federal government's 2.3 million civilian workers will ultimately agree to the offer, which guarantees pay through September if they resign by Thursday. U.S.. taxpayers funded transgender opera in Columbia and trans comic book in Peru The United States Agency for International Development, which was created by President John F. Kennedy in 1961, has become a conduit for waste, fraud and abuse. With a budget of over $50 billion, USAID is one of the largest official aid agencies in the world and accounts for more than half of all U.S. foreign assistance. Thanks to Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency the taxpayer-funded gravy train is finally coming to an end. Outside the White House, Karoline Leavitt, President Trump's Press Secretary, listed some objectionable expenditures of the United States Agency for International Development. LEAVITT: “If you look at the waste and abuse that has run through USAID over the past several years, these are some of the insane priorities that that organization has been spending money on. $1.5 million to advance [Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion] in Serbia's workplaces. $70,000 for a production of a DEI musical in Ireland. $47,000 for a transgender opera in Colombia, $32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru. “I don't know about you, but as an American taxpayer, I don't want my dollars going towards this crap. I know the American people don't either. That's exactly what Elon Musk has been tasked by President Trump to do: to get the fraud, waste and abuse out of our federal government.” Nearly all 14,000 staff members for the U.S. Agency for International Development, will be placed on leave tonight, according to the agency. In addition, all overseas missions for USAID had been ordered to shut down yesterday, reports CBS News. Jump-roping champion saves teen out of icy waters And finally, a famous jump-roper, David Fisher, recently saved a young man from drowning after he fell through the ice on a frozen lake, reports GoodNewsNetwork.org. Near his home in Westfield, Indiana, Fisher, age 61, discovered a teenage boy who had fallen into the icy waters through thin ice as he tried to rescue his dog who had met the same fate, according to the Washington Post. Fisher instinctively grabbed the two long cloth ropes he uses for Double Dutch jumping and ran out to the lake. In God's providence, the boy grabbed the jump rope, got back onto the ice, and Fisher pulled him to safety. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” Or, in this case, an absolute stranger! He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.' “Our Father today, as President Donald J. Trump: "The golden age of America begins right now!” On Monday, President Donald Trump gave a 30-minute inauguration speech inside the Capitol Rotunda beginning with this memorable line. TRUMP: “The golden age of America begins right now!” (applause) Once he has implemented his policies, he's convinced that America's reputation will dramatically improve. TRUMP: “America will reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on Earth, inspiring the awe and admiration of the entire world.” Trump affirmed two genders. TRUMP: “As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female.” (applause) He encouraged national pride with the caveat that Americans need to remember God. TRUMP: “National unity is now returning to America and confidence and pride is soaring like never before. … We will not forget our country. We will not forget our Constitution. And we will not forget our God. Can't do that.” (applause) And President Trump referred to the first assassination attempt on his life. TRUMP: “Just a few months ago, in a beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin's bullet ripped through my ear. But I felt then, and believe even more so now, that my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again!” (applause) Read a transcript of Trump's inauguration speech here. Martin Luther King's niece: MLK Day & Trump Inauguration providential Alveda King, Martin Luther King, Jr's niece, spoke up in an op-ed column on FoxNews.com yesterday. She noted first that “It is no coincidence that on the very same day as MLK Day, we will celebrate the second inauguration of President Trump. I believe that God made it so that these two events would align.” King's main concern was protecting the lives of the unborn. She wrote, “Let us all praise the Almighty that abortion is no longer a constitutionally protected right in the United States. Yet this does not mean that our work is over as a movement. Instead, as we continue to march in support of the unborn, we will also turn our efforts to the state level to protect life through state legislatures.” Biden issues pardons for his own family minutes before Trump's oath Lame Duck President Joe Biden pardoned several controversial figures who have yet to be indicted for any crime. The list includes Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, General Mark Milley (Ret.), Democratic Senator Adam Schiff of California, and former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming. Then, just minutes before leaving the presidency, Biden issued blanket pardons for members of his own family including his brother James and his wife, Sara; his sister, Valerie, and her husband, John Owens; and his brother Francis. However, Trump prosecutor Jack Smith, former FBI Director Christopher Wray, and Attorney General Merrick Garland were not on the list of pardons. Fartcoin, another joke crypto has got a value of $1.8 billion as of today. The total market capitalization for cryptocurrency is approaching $4 trillion. That's about five times the size of the U.S. oil and gas industry. A few less Americans are investing in 25,000 different crypto-coins. 40% of men and 16% of women invested in 2024 — slightly lower numbers than 2023. SERIES 2 EPISODE 174: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: We need a Walter Cronkite moment from The New York Times. The New York Times needs, one day – one day soon, one day now – to devote the entirety of the front page – to a headline, and an editorial, signed by the publisher Sulzberger and the editor Kahn and the key columnists and correspondents – headlined “TRUMP IMPERILS DEMOCRACY” and sub-headlined “YOUR LIFE AT STAKE.” We need a Walter Cronkite moment from The New York Times and when Trump went to a Philadelphia area seaside resort called Wildwood, drew maybe 10,000 cultists, lied and had the Republican mayor lie and say it was 80,000, complained that immigrant students don't speak English and immediately afterwards said something like “Borden-in-riv-iv,” said something else like “carry doubt-ite-by-rite,”claimed the president between Ford and Reagan was named Jimmy Connors, said the Chinese were preparing to invade Beijing (their own capital), insisted the entire country was grateful that he killed Roe-V-Wade, thanked – by name - the Supreme Court justices who gutted it, suddenly invoked the fictional cannibal character Hannibal Lecter, seemed to praise him, claimed the character was dead, and got the name of the movie wrong, and then insisted all immigrants are Hannibal Lecter – and all of that was after he was introduced by some immigrant who called him “President CHUMP"... the New York Times story, by a sixth-stringer named Michael Gold, mentioned… none of that. This was what Editor Joe Kahn's writer told consumers of the most influential news organization in America, quote: “After a long and often tense week in his criminal trial in Manhattan… Trump… took part in a time-honored ritual enjoyed by countless New Yorkers in need of a break: He went to the shore.” Oh ho ho, how clever. The Times instead lets Maggie Haberman dismiss as “hearsay” Michael Cohen's first-hand recounting of what Trump told him about ‘not being on the market for long' if Melania dumped him and if Haberman doesn't know the legal definition of “hearsay” get rid of her. And the Times made room for an op-ed bashing Joe Biden by Mark Penn, a dishonest right wing pollster who has been posing as a Democrat for at least 20 years. In Court: “Michael Cohen calmly describes Trump's hush money instructions,” reads the headline in The Washington Post. The SUB-headline quotes Trump: “Just do it.” That's what the prosecution needed out of Cohen. And it needs it again out of him today. AND whenever the cross-examination begins. It needs him making more self-abnegating jokes about ‘angry, even for me.' It needs him testifying as he did yesterday: that he was there in Trump Tower, days before Trump was sworn in as president, with Allan Weisselberg, reviewing a handwritten document plan to repay Cohen for the Stormy Daniels hush money and how they would hide it. And that Trump said “smart individuals” had told him, Trump, to pay the $130,000. And that Trump told him he knew if the Daniels story got out it would be a disaster for the CAMPAIGN. And it needs him producing one outstandingly sleazy quote from Trump per day on the stand, like when Cohen asked Trump about the impact on his wife MELANIA if the story got out and Trump said “don't worry. How long do you think I'll be on the market for? Not long.” B-Block (22:54) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: California Assembly Bill 2265 and what it can do to save dogs - and save shelters the horrible cost of killing them. (24:27) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: An update on the back story to the "This Is SportsCenter" commercial I did with soccer's Alexi Lalas, in which I reprised John Belushi's moment in "Animal House" in which he smashes the guitar against the wall. The update? The DVD with the outtakes literally fell off a shelf here yesterday. Enjoy. C-Block (40:35) GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (01/17/2024): 3:05pm- Kristen Pieffer of the Freedonia Group documents the results of a brand-new study on the impact of New Jersey's ban on single-use plastic bags. She writes: “following implementation of the New Jersey bag ban, total bag volumes declined by more than 60% to 894 million bags. However, the study also shows, following New Jersey's ban of single-use bags, the shift from plastic film to alternative bags resulted in a nearly 3x increase in plastic consumption for bags. At the same time, 6x more woven and non-woven polypropylene plastic was consumed to produce the reusable bags sold to consumers as an alternative. Most of these alternative bags are made with non-woven polypropylene, which is not widely recycled in the United States and does not typically contain any post-consumer recycled materials. This shift in material also resulted in a notable environmental impact, with the increased consumption of polypropylene bags contributing to a 500% increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to non-woven polypropylene bag production in 2015. Notably, non-woven polypropylene, NWPP, the dominant alternative bag material, consumes over 15 times more plastic and generates more than five times the amount of GHG emissions during production per bag than polyethylene plastic bags.” You can read the full report here: https://www.freedoniagroup.com/press-releases/freedonia-report-finds-new-jersey-single-use-bag-ban-boosts-alternative-bag-production,-increases-pl 3:20pm- Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday, Argentine President Javier Milei told those in attendance “do not surrender” to socialism and to instead embrace capitalism, free markets, and individual liberties. 3:30pm Why does Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise follow Matt on social media? Documents obtained from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services by a House committee and reviewed by The Wall Street Journal show that a Chinese researcher in Beijing uploaded a nearly complete sequence of the virus's structure to a U.S. government-run database on Dec. 28, 2019. Chinese officials at that time were still publicly describing the disease outbreak in Wuhan, China, as a viral pneumonia “of unknown cause” and had yet to close the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, site of one of the initial Covid-19 outbreaks. The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: Kristen Pieffer of the Freedonia Group documents the results of a brand-new study on the impact of New Jersey's ban on single-use plastic bags. Notably, non-woven polypropylene, NWPP, the dominant alternative bag material, consumes over 15 times more plastic and generates more than five times the amount of GHG emissions during production per bag than polyethylene plastic bags.” You can read the full report here: https://www.freedoniagroup.com/press-releases/freedonia-report-finds-new-jersey-single-use-bag-ban-boosts-alternative-bag-production,-increases-pl Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday, Argentine President Javier Milei told those in attendance “do not surrender” to socialism and to instead embrace capitalism, free markets, and individual liberties.
