It's Good Friday, April 18th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus and Jonathan Clark Chinese Communists sentence Christians for Bible distribution Chinese Communists gave nine Christians prison sentences and large fines for re-selling and distributing Bibles in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia located in North China, reports International Christian Concern. On April 10th, the religious freedom magazine Bitter Winter reported their prison sentences were four years long and their fines ranged from $68 to more than $136,000. The sentences stem from charges and arrests in 2021, where the Christians bought legally published Bibles in Nanjing but ended up re-selling and distributing them at much lower prices as they wanted to share God's Word as a means of evangelism. These Chinese Christians will be inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:16-17. It says, “Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” Salvadoran President: Deported man will not be sent back to US When Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele came to the White House on April 14th, CNN host Kaitlan Collins asked a question about an illegal alien El Salvadoran man from Maryland, named Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who had been deported back to his country on March 15th. TRUMP: “Let's hear the question from this very low rated anchor.” COLLINS: “Do you plan to return him?” To be clear, Garcia was arrested in Baltimore, Maryland on March 12 by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Attorney General Pam Bondi explained that he is a member of MS-13, a gang, which Trump has now designated a terrorist organization. BONDI: “In 2019, two courts, an immigration court and an appellate immigration court, ruled that he was a member of MS-13 and he was illegally in our country.” In response to Kaitlan Collins' question, Salvadoran President Bukele laughed, reports The Epoch Times. BUKELE: “The question is preposterous. How could I smuggle a terrorist to the United States? I don't have the power to return him to the United States.” Later, outside the White House, Stephen Miller, Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff, schooled reporters who seem to be more concerned with illegal alien MS-13 gang members than they are with the laws of our country. MILLER: “A judge has said he must be deported from the country. He has no right to remain here any longer. He must be removed from the country. So, his only options are to be deported to his home country or another country. That's it. There's no other option. He doesn't get to stay here. He doesn't get to live here. He has no future here. He has no right to be here. He's an illegal alien. “So, when you keep saying ‘return' because you've been spun up by the Open Borders advocates, you all seem to be operating under the illusion that he would be able to come to United States and just continue to live here illegally. That's not an option available to him. His only choices in life are to live in El Salvador or to live in another country. That's it. There's no other option, legally or otherwise, because he came to our country illegally. Do you understand that?” Trump administration examines negative impacts over "transgendering" The Trump administration ordered the National Institutes of Health to study the effects of so-called “gender transitioning.” A leaked memo indicates the agency must investigate the “chemical and surgical mutilation” of children and adults. In particular, the Trump administration wants to identify negative impacts on physical and mental health caused by such practices. The investigation will also look into “regret and detransition” by people who have pretended to be the opposite sex. Trump hosted an Easter prayer service On Wednesday night, President Donald Trump hosted an Easter prayer service dinner at the White House, reports The Associated Press. He affirmed the ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Listen. TRUMP: “Nearly 2,000 years ago, during the sacred week, the living Son of God entered Jerusalem in triumph. Soon after, the Savior of mankind, who brought truth and light into the world, was betrayed, arrested and tried, beaten and nailed to a cross and crucified. “For our sake, He gave up His life and, as the very great Reverend Billy Graham once said, ‘God proved His love on the cross. When Christ hung and bled and died, it was God saying to the world, ‘I love you.' “The death and resurrection of Jesus are the essence of the Christian faith. Whether rich or poor, healthy or sick, young or old, or in times of peace or war, Christians everywhere find solace and hope in the knowledge that Christ died for them and that they could be united with Him in Heaven. And that's what we want. That's what we all want.” Luke 24:6 says, “He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you, while He was still with you in Galilee.” 2 killed, 6 wounded at Florida State University shooting On Thursday, two people were killed at Florida State University in Tallahassee and six others were wounded by Phoenix Ikner, a 20-year-old political science major, as he opened fire from an orange Hummer. The son of a Leon County Sheriff's deputy, he used his mother's handgun in the campus rampage, reports the Miami Herald. Appearing on Fox News Channel, FSU student Owen Girard described what he witnessed. GIRARD: “Sounded like a jackhammer, of these repetitive beats going on in the distance. Thought it was construction. Next thing you know, you have all of these students running at you, yelling that there's a shooter, so you just drop everything and run. That was our experience. We ran. We hid on the outskirts of campus.” Florida State University President Rick McCullough spoke at the press conference. McCULLOUGH: “This is a tragic day for Florida State University. We are absolutely heartbroken by the violence that occurred on our campus earlier today. Two have died. Five other innocents are being treated for their injuries. We're working to support the victims, their families, and everyone affected by this traumatic event.” Texas school choice passes the state House Texas lawmakers are one step closer to approving a $1 billion private school voucher program hours after passing a bill to allocate $7.7 billion in funding for public schools, reports The Christian Post. The voucher proposal, known as Senate Bill 2, passed the Texas House of Representatives on Thursday by a largely party-line vote of 85-63, in which all Democrats and two Republicans voted against it. Illinois bill hostile to homeschooling dies for now And finally, an Illinois bill, hostile to homeschoolers as well as private schools, missed a procedural deadline in April, reported Capitol News Illinois. If it became law, homeschoolers could face penalties for not filling out government paperwork. However, the bill's main sponsor, Democratic State Rep. Terra Howard, has requested an extension to keep it on life support. On March 19th, 8,000 homeschooling parents and kids traveled to the Illinois state capitol where they packed the committee room and extended into the hallways and the Capitol Rotunda, reports HSLDA. What if everything you've been taught about America's founding was incomplete? What if our monuments, buildings, and founding documents contain evidence of a deeply Christian heritage that has been systematically erased from public education? This episode takes listeners on a fascinating journey through America's architectural treasures – from the biblical inscriptions inside the Washington Monument to the Ten Commandments engraved above the Supreme Court chamber, from paintings of prayer and Bible reading in the Capitol Rotunda to the towering Forefathers Monument in Plymouth that few Americans even know exists. The evidence is literally carved in stone: America was founded as a Christian nation. Fisher Ames, who worded the First Amendment's Establishment Clause, believed the Bible should be the primary textbook in schools. John Jay, our first Supreme Court Chief Justice, stated that Christians have both the privilege and duty to elect Christian leaders. These weren't religious extremists but the very architects of American liberty. As we explore these forgotten monuments, we also examine how Bible illiteracy has allowed revisionist history to flourish. Without knowledge of Scripture, we miss countless biblical references in our founding documents, presidential addresses, and national symbols. This knowledge gap has enabled the false narrative of America as a secular nation from its inception. The episode weaves together this historical exploration with timeless spiritual wisdom from the book of Philemon about free will, love, and our relationship with Christ. Jesse emphasizes that just as Paul wouldn't force Philemon to free his slave but appealed to his heart, God doesn't force our love either – He offers it freely, waiting for our response.Whether you're a history enthusiast, a person of faith concerned about America's direction, or simply someone who wants to understand the complete story of our national heritage, this episode will challenge assumptions and inspire a deeper appreciation for the biblical principles woven throughout American history. Listen, learn, and consider how reconnecting with these roots might help secure liberty for future generations.Support the showThe American Soul Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1791934/subscribe

On January 13, South Dakota landowners and citizens gathered together for a rally in the Capitol Rotunda in Pierre to kick off the legislative session and ask the legislators for a simple thing -- eminent domain reform for carbon pipelines. HB1052 has been introduced by Rep. Karla Lems and Senator Mark Lapka and would provide Constitutional clarity and much-needed relief to landowners who have faced condemnation on a proposed pipeline route.Presented by Bid on Beef | CK6 Consulting | CK6 Source | Real Tuff Livestock Equipment | Redmond RealSalt | By-O-Reg+ | Dirt Road RadioSave on Redmond Real Salt with code RADKE at https://shop.redmondagriculture.com/Check out Amanda's agricultural children's books here: https://amandaradke.com/collections/amandas-books

This week ushered in the second Trump administration as President Trump took the oath of office in the Capitol Rotunda due to inclement weather. Rather fitting, no? A storm is raging outside, but the American republic literally and figuratively takes shelter within the physical and political structures established by the Constitution. That wasn't the only thought provoking visual the inauguration ceremony presented. In style and substance, this second Trump inauguration signaled a serious shift from the Biden years towards a vision of American possibility that drew on history, the Constitutional order, Trump's own brand of optimistic swagger, and America's religious roots. There is a lot to unpack, here, so I jumped on a call with my friend and colleague, Dr. Scott Waller of Biola University, to unpack the imagery, rhetoric, and history of the moment we witnessed this past Monday. Martin Luther King's niece: MLK Day & Trump Inauguration providential Alveda King, Martin Luther King, Jr's niece, spoke up in an op-ed column on FoxNews.com yesterday. I believe that God made it so that these two events would align.” King's main concern was protecting the lives of the unborn. She wrote, “Let us all praise the Almighty that abortion is no longer a constitutionally protected right in the United States. Yet this does not mean that our work is over as a movement. Instead, as we continue to march in support of the unborn, we will also turn our efforts to the state level to protect life through state legislatures.” Biden issues pardons for his own family minutes before Trump's oath Lame Duck President Joe Biden pardoned several controversial figures who have yet to be indicted for any crime. The news of Texas covered today includes:Our Lone Star story of the day: Donald J. Trump was invested with the Office of the President today in the Capitol Rotunda in the City of Washington. I'm pleased to bring you his entire inaugural address. Also, I point out Democrats used the event to lie and propagandize about this being a “democracy” which it is not. Leftist Senator Amy Klobuchar opened by misleading the American people.Democracy: government by the people: rule of the majority. This is the first and pure definition from Merriam-Webster and something our founders specifically opposed. The United States of America is a Republic: a government in which the power belongs to a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by the leaders and representatives elected by those citizens to govern according to law. This matters much because Democrats claim that might makes right, meaning, as was the case with Democrat-backed slavery and segregation, that an opinion of a voting majority is superior to guaranteed natural and constitutional rights. Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.Texas baby murdering activist Cecile Richards, daughter of that piece of work Governor Ann Richards, died this morning of brain cancer. I guess she'll be explaining to the Lord why killing millions of innocent babies was such a good idea.Houston so certain of snow and ice tonight that both Hobby and Bush Intercontinental airports are closing at midnight and closed on Tuesday – a huge economic cost.Listen on the radio, or station stream, at 5pm Central. Donald Trump was sworn in as our 47th president, pledging to put America first every day he is in office. For the first time in four decades, the inauguration was indoors. President Trump says he made the call because of the frigid temperatures, and while it may have been much smaller in scale, the majesty of the Capitol Rotunda made up for it. And due to the freezing weather the president and first lady will attend an indoor rally instead of the traditional parade, and tonight they will dance at a number of inaugural balls. It all started off with the big “make America great again” victory rally featuring the president-elect and the Village People whose song, "YMCA" has been Trump's theme song on the campaign trail. Plus, President Trump promised a host of actions immediately after taking office - on immigration, closing the border with Mexico, and renaming the body of water to the west of Florida. Trump wants to call it “The Gulf of America.” And at least 15,000 structures have been destroyed in the LA fires, and today we're learning among the buildings that went up in flames are some banks where Jim Moret reports it seems the safe deposit boxes aren't always so safe.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

President-elect Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States inside the Capitol Rotunda. President Trump's inaugural address struck on a theme of unity and also one of American excellence. Trump also thoroughly rebuked the Biden Administration. Seated closely to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Trump did not hold back on calling out the failings of the last four years, and he pledging to secure the border, unleash American energy, and end DEI and woke policies. #BobbyEberle #TrumpInauguration #Trump47
Today marks a historic occasion in Washington, D.C., as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take the oath of office for his second term while the nation honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This rare convergence of Inauguration Day and MLK Day has happened only twice before in modern history. Trump's inauguration was moved indoors to the U.S. Capitol Rotunda due to freezing temperatures, with Chief Justice John Roberts scheduled to administer the oath at noon. Meanwhile, Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network are leading a major rally and march in the nation's capital, using the overlap of events to highlight critical civil rights issues. Sharpton emphasized the importance of honoring Dr. King's vision, saying this is a moment to honor Dr. King's vision and fight against efforts that threaten to undo decades of progress. The day's events underscore the continuing struggle for civil rights and the significance of Dr. King's enduring legacy. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

If you have suggestions or feedback on how I can earn your paid subscription, shoot me an email: cmclymer@gmail.com.]The state funeral for James Earl “Jimmy” Carter, Jr., the 39th President of the United States, was as well attended by dignitaries as one might expect — or hope.Among the hundreds in attendance at the Washington National Cathedral were Presidents Biden, Obama, Bush, and Clinton; Vice Presidents Harris, Pence, Gore, and Quayle; Secretaries of State Clinton and Kerry; first and second spouses; Chief Justice Roberts and Associate Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, Kavanaugh, Barrett, and Jackson; current and former heads of government from Canada, Colombia, Japan, Portugal, and the United Kingdom; Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh; Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations; and scores of senators and members of Congress and ambassadors and other luminaries.I may be missing a notable name or two. Perhaps at least two. That is possible.Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood sang “Imagine" — one of the late president's favorite songs.Steve Ford, the son of President Gerald Ford, whom Pres. Carter defeated in the 1976 election, delivered a beautiful eulogy in which he said to the Carter family: “God did a good thing when he made your dad.”President Biden, in what is likely the final major public speech of his tenure, summed up President Carter in three words: “Character, character, character.”It all felt right and good. It felt fitting. It felt rare and maybe fleeting. It felt like we may not see this kind of easy agreement across the political spectrum for a long time. But with all due respect, it didn't come close to matching the quiet and hardy adoration that could be observed in the previous 36 hours on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol and surrounding streets. It is cold in D.C. this week, enough during the day to aggressively bundle up and enough at night to find any excuse to be indoors and immediately reject that one friend's insane invite to go out for a drink, much less an evening stroll. It is, for most of us, bitterly cold. It is so cold—at least to this Texas gal—that nothing less than the threat to life and limb to a loved one would be enough to convince me to venture into the elements. It is so cold that “outside” is wholly inadequate and only the word “elements” carries a sufficiently adequate connotation.Last night, at 9pm, the temperature was easily below 20 degrees with the wind chill. I understand some of you up north consider this balmy. You must understand that most of us think you're crazy. So, it was painfully cold and uninviting, and yet, even late into the night, there were thousands and thousands of people across all walks of life waiting in line outside for several hours just to enter the Capitol Rotunda for a few moments and walk around the flag-draped casket of one Jimmy Carter and pay their respects to a model human being. There were those who were off for the federal holiday and those who came after a long day of work—suits and dresses and military uniforms—young and old, Democrats and Republicans and independents, the working class and the wealthy, entire families, all of them standing outside in the freezing cold for several hours. That's not an exaggeration. The wait was several hours. At best, one could reasonably hope to get through the line and the quick orbit within the Rotunda in just over three hours. Some folks waited longer, some as many as five hours depending on when they got in line. When was the last time you waited five hours in line for anything? When was the last time you waited three hours in line? When was the last time you did this in the bone chilling cold? When was the last time you did this without any expectation of a tangible reward? They all knew there was no material incentive to be had here. It wasn't like everyone who made the journey got a cookie or gold star after leaving the Rotunda. There were no certificates of appreciation conferred upon completion. No dinner coupons. No drink tickets. No free t-shirts.Need to use the restroom? Walk a few blocks to a nearby restaurant or bar and hope someone is kind enough to hold your spot in line.It was so cold that even the usually familiar sight of phones capturing every angle of any given political event for social media was scarce. Gotta keep those hands warm.People heard the updates. It's gonna be three hours. Maybe four. Maybe five. They stayed in line.It wasn't as though Pres. Carter could do anything for these thousands upon thousands of people who came to say goodbye beyond what he did for them in life, deeds already completed and offered without any assumption of reciprocity. This man who hadn't been president in more than four decades, who had a 31 percent approval rating the month he lost reelection, who was unfairly maligned for many years over his job performance, who was unjustly a punchline to much of the country afterward for so long after leaving office — it was this man they came to honor. They stayed in line, freezing, probably hungry, probably needing to use the restroom at some point, many of them probably wishing they were at home with a hot beverage and blanket in hand. They stayed in line. This one-term president, who went back to his peanut farm after leaving office, who was detested by the bulk of D.C. political circles, who didn't cash out and join a bevy of corporate boards, who didn't feel it necessary to say what was popular or easy, who navigated his life thereafter as a private citizen with such grace and integrity that even his most ardent detractors had to tip their hats and acknowledge his decency.I realize there are so many reasons to feel pessimistic about the future of our country at the moment, but if such decency is so honored as we've seen by everyday Americans on the ground in our Nation's Capitol over these past few days, tell me that isn't cause for hope.Tell me that isn't a glimmer of what we could still be.
