It's Wednesday, March 26th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark 19 Christians arrested in Sudan, Africa Christians continue to suffer in Sudan during the ongoing civil war there. Fighters from one of the sides arrested at least 19 Christians in Sudan in recent months. The Christians face false accusations of supporting the other side in the war. A local attorney told Morning Star News, “This is systematic targeting of Christians who are arrested without taking them to a court of law to get justice.” Sudan is ranked fifth on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian. Revelation 2:10 says, “Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Evangelicals are now the majority of Protestants in France In 2021, Protestants made up about 9% of the French population that attends religious services regularly. Protestants in France are mostly Evangelical now, reports Evangelical Focus. New data shows that 58% of French Protestants attend an Evangelical Free church outside of the historic Reformed or Lutheran denominations. Also, a quarter of French Protestants come from non-Protestant families, especially Catholic ones. Russia and Ukraine's ceasefire in Black Sea Russia and Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire in the Black Sea on Tuesday. This followed talks between officials from both countries and the Trump administration. The White House said, “The United States and Russia have agreed to ensure safe navigation, eliminate the use of force, and prevent the use of commercial vessels for military purposes in the Black Sea.” The agreement is the latest in the attempt by U.S. President Donald Trump to bring an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine. 12 states consider displaying 10 Commandments in public school In the United States, over a dozen states have introduced bills to display the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms. Louisiana was the first state to mandate such displays. Texas is another state considering such a measure. Jonathan Saenz is an attorney with Texas Values who helped draft his state's bill. He told CBN News this is what voters want. SAENZ: “We're confident, with the recent election results, that this is what voters want. They want to make sure that we preserve our values and that we teach about these things in our public schools and we get back to basics.” And Montana Republican State Senator Keith Regier spoke from the floor of the Montana Senate in favor of posting The Ten Commandments in public schools. REGIER: “God is mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. It's on our money, in music, like “God bless America.” It's in our literature, and it's in the pledge to the flag. Why would we not mention God in our schools? The courts need to understand that by removing God, they're replacing it with nothing.” Speaking of His commandments, God said in Deuteronomy 6:7, 9, “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. … You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Trump freezes $20 million of funding to Planned Parenthood The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that the Trump administration is freezing $120 million in federal funding for so-called family planning grants. This includes $20 million in funding for abortion giant Planned Parenthood. The federal funding freeze is part of a hold on grants that align with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, said, “This is a victory for the unborn and for taxpayers who have been forced to fund an industry that ends innocent lives.” Federal Reserve leaves interest rate alone The Federal Reserve decided to leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged yesterday. The rate remains in the range of 4.25% to 4.5%. The Fed indicated rate cuts are likely later this year. President Trump responded by calling for rate cuts as his import tariffs transition their way into the economy. Young Christian women more liberal than male peers Pew Research released their 2024 Religious Landscape Survey recently. Data shows that young, self-identified Christian women are more liberal than their male peers. Less than half of the young men support abortion and sexually perverted lifestyles. However, a majority of the young women support the same things. This gender gap in the church continues a trend that Pew Research has documented for at least 10 years. Average church raised $165,000 annually And finally, Faith Communities Today released a report on the annual income of churches in the U.S. Church income is recovering after a dip during the COVID-19 pandemic. The average church brought in $165,000 in 2023, up from $120,000 in 2020. The average church spent $160,000 over the year, and the average church member gave $2,222. However, the rise in income has not been enough to keep up with inflation. But 61% of churches were still able to self-report good or excellent financial health. Today on SUFTT, for the first half hour, we welcome pro-life lobbyist Sue Liebel from Susan B Anthony Pro Life America. We will be looking at the April 1 election in Wisconsin and it's wide-ranging affect on all the states, due to the contest between conservative Brad Schimel and pro-abortion candidate Susan Crawford. Back in 2023, the state judiciary veered left with the defeat of conservative Daniel Kelly. This election as well, no less important for the complexion of the Wisconsin court, will be closely watched by all the states largely due to the pro-life issue. Sue will expound on the significance of it and Wisconsin's current abortion status. In the 2nd half today, we look at some headlines regarding Israel, and also the latest series from Amazon entitled, "House of David". It is faithful biblically, is it stuck in the woke spin cycle, or is it just so much fiction aka The Chosen? I would say at this point, if you plan to watch it, have eyes wide open. It's Monday, March 10th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Police arrest Christians in India for evangelism On February 23rd, police arrested nine Christians in two locations in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India for holding Sunday prayer meetings, which Hindu groups alleged were intended to convert Hindus, reports ChurchinChains. Five Christians, including a pastor, were arrested in Sitapur district, where a case was registered following a complaint by Anuj Bhadauria, the district coordinator of a Hindu nationalist organization named Bajrang Dal. Plus, four others, including a pastor, were arrested in Raebareli district. In each case, the Christians had gathered for regular Sunday prayers in a home when a Hindu mob barged in and alleged that they were defaming the Hindu religion, and its deities, and offering inducements to convert people. Police seized Bibles and other religious materials as evidence of conversion activities. Over one hundred Christians are reportedly being held in different jails across Uttar Pradesh state, with 35 jailed so far in 2025. Christians make up less than one percent of the 200 million people who live in the state there in India. The Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act 2021, a strict anti-conversion law, was amended last year to include harsher punishments including life imprisonment for religious conversion activities. Many Indian Christians find solace in Joshua 1:9 which says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Trump's pro-America speech wins accolades Last Tuesday night, President Donald Trump addressed a joint session of Congress. (Read the transcript here) TRUMP: “America is back! (applause) Six weeks ago, I stood beneath the dome of this Capitol and proclaimed the dawn of the golden age of America.” CBS News polled Americans and discovered that 91% said the 47th president actually discussed issues that were important to them, and 74% said the address was entertaining. Overall, a total of 71% said the speech was inspiring. Trump used humor to address the border and wasteful spending No doubt, Trump's description of his policies was indeed entertaining. Listen to what he had to say about the border. TRUMP: “The media, and our friends in the Democrat Party, kept saying we needed new legislation. We must have legislation to secure the border, but it turned out that all we really needed -- was a new president.” (cheers) He was equally entertaining as he described the waste that the Department of Government Efficiency has identified under the leadership of Elon Musk. TRUMP: “Just listen to some of the appalling waste we have already identified. “$22 billion from HHS to provide free housing and cars for illegal aliens. $45 million for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion scholarships in Burma. $40 million to improve the social and economic inclusion of sedentary migrants. Nobody knows what that is. (laughter) $8 million to promote LGBTQI+ in the African nation of Lesotho, which nobody has ever heard of. (laughter) $8 million for making mice transgender. (laughter) This is real. … “Under the Trump administration, all of these scams have been found out and exposed and swiftly terminated by a group of very intelligent, mostly young people, headed up by Elon [Musk]. And we appreciate it. We found hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud.” (applause) Post-abortive women have higher suicide rate In a new topic-blind study, 2,829 American women, between ages 41 and 45, were surveyed about their reproductive health and suicide attempts, reports LifeNews.com. Authored by Elliot Institute Director David Reardon and published in The Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics & Gynecology, the study found that women who had abortions or natural pregnancy loss were twice as likely to attempt to end their lives. The research sought to discern whether post-abortive suicide attempts are “entirely incidental and most likely fully explained by pre-existing mental illness,” as some have claimed, or directly related to the loss of life in the womb. To garner unbiased results, the respondents were completely in the dark as to what the purpose of the research was. Among women with a history of abortion, 35% of them had attempted suicide. Even women who did not have abortions, but lost their babies due to miscarriages or problematic pregnancies, had suicide attempt rates of roughly 30%. Notably, the research found that women who were coerced into having abortions had the highest rates of suicide at 46% of whom tried to end their own lives. Only 13% of women who had successful deliveries with no abortions, no miscarriages, no problems within the pregnancies were found to have made suicide attempts — the lowest rates among all surveyed women. Trump DOJ ends Biden lawsuit to force Idaho to allow ‘emergency' abortions The Trump administration has ended a Biden-era attempt to force Idaho pro-life doctors to participate in so-called “emergency” abortions, but a federal judge is still attempting to delay the law's enforcement, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Idaho's Defense of Life Act bans all abortions except those deemed “necessary to prevent the death of the pregnant woman.” On Wednesday, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America reported that the new Justice Department under President Donald Trump has moved to drop the case, ending the federal government's efforts to invalidate the Idaho Defense of Life Act. Actor Chris Pratt: “I care enough about Jesus to take a stand!” And finally, Chris Pratt has built a career on playing heroes — from the lovable goofball Andy Dwyer on "Parks and Recreation" to Marvel's Star-Lord, he's won over audiences with his humor and charm. But his greatest mission, said the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star, is far bigger than Hollywood, reports The Christian Post. After having listened to the entire Bible, Leah Klett asked Pratt which Scripture has had the most profound impact on his life. PRATT: “Matthew 5:14. Being a light in this world, a city on a hill cannot be hidden. I'm being called to be that city on the hill at this moment in my life. I feel like you take a risk. I think being in the entertainment world, being vocal about anything that's divisive, religion is divisive. I do care enough about Jesus to take a stand, even if it cost me. If it costs me everything, I don't care. It's worth it to me, because this is what I'm called to do, is where my heart is. “I'm a father of four. I want to raise my children up with an understanding that their dad was unashamed of his faith in Jesus, and with a profound understanding of the power of prayer and the grace and the love and the joy that can come from a relationship with Jesus. That's something that's really important to me. You don't hear that a lot from people in entertainment, but it's who I am. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. So, get back to Matthew 5:14.” Now there's a Hollywood star whose knee bends to his Savior Jesus Christ. Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, March 10th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America warns Harris wants to “…steamroll Americans into taking part in abortions…” A look at the fight for the US Senate in Wisconsin and Michigan. And a new book says that it has the answer for those who feel that life is harder than it needs to be.
This is many warriors GOOD FIGHT! Are you lacking clear vision in certain areas of life? Do you want to know the TRUTH even if you don't FEEL like it? When we don't know the truth of what is going on, then we have a hard time being properly prepared for the battles that will ensue. In today's Spiritual and Political climate in America it is hard to get beyond TRIBAL feelings. Of the 66 books in the Bible not a one of them is called “Feelings” or “Opinions”, yet our Political and Spiritual cognition seems to be driven by those 2 nemeses. Emily Davis, Vice President of Communications for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is joining Mr. Black for an hour of Power and Truth. In 1993 Bill Clinton Democratic platform coined the phrase: ‘Safe, legal, but rare” to describe their belief on Abortion. That statement implied abortion was inherently immoral, and thus should be rate. Today's Democratic party celebrates the death of the unborn, as a power move. Today's conversation will pull back the curtain on what took place at the Democratic convention, and in the back halls of the DNC that has totally changed the landscape and what abortion is about today. This is an important conversation, one that you need to listen to and share. If you are going to live your life like it matters, then, THE TRUTH will set you free. It is the Way of Warrior! In the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, there were three lies told about abortion. Guest host Adam McManus addresses all three with Sue Liebel, the State Affairs Director for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. Plus, you'll hear the audio clips of all three. LIE #1: Abortions don't happen in the ninth month of pregnancy. Kamala Harris falsely claimed, “Nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term and asking for an abortion. That is not happening; it's insulting to the women of America.” Truth: Abortion is legal for any reason up to birth in ten states and DC. Abortion is legal through nine months of pregnancy for any reason in ten states plus D.C. Those states are Alaska, California, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, and Vermont. LIE #2: There is no state in which “abortion after birth” is legal. At one point, debate moderator Linsey Davis inappropriately jumped in to debate Trump, telling him, “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it's born.” She is incorrect! Truth: “After-birth abortion” or infanticide does occur, and 15 states allow it. These 15 states allow infanticide: Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Utah, and Vermont. That's why Marjorie Dannenfelser, the President of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, sent a letter to ABC demanding a correction. In 2019, then-Senator Kamala Harris voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires abortionists to provide potentially lifesaving care to babies born during botched abortions. In addition, just because it is illegal in many states to kill a newborn baby does not mean it is not happening and that abortion advocates don't support it. Pennsylvania abortionist Kermit Gosnell is in prison currently for actively killing babies who survived his abortion procedures. LIE #3: Pro-life laws make it “criminal” for a doctor to provide health care for women who have miscarriages. During the debate, Kamala Harris falsely claimed, “Over 20 Trump abortion bans make it criminal for a doctor or nurse to provide health care. In one state, it provides prison for life. I have talked with women around our country. You want to talk about, ‘This is what people wanted?' Pregnant women who want to carry a pregnancy to term suffering from a miscarriage being denied care in an emergency room because the health care providers are afraid they might go to jail and she's bleeding out in a car in the parking lot. She didn't want that. Her husband didn't want that.” Truth: No pro-life law prohibits legitimate health care. This program includes: 1. The Worldview in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Lila Rose to Trump: “Stand for life;” Hurricane Helene slams Florida with 140 mph winds, Small but committed church in Syria) 2. The case of former Stoughton Police Detective Matthew Farwell, who is accused of murdering Sandra Birchmore, has sparked calls for additional charges under the Unborn Victims of Violence Act. Farwell, 38, allegedly killed Birchmore, 23, in her Canton apartment on February 1, 2021, after she revealed she was pregnant with his child. Farwell's indictment includes charges related to the murder of Birchmore, who was about two months pregnant at the time. Prosecutors allege Farwell strangled Birchmore and staged her death to appear as a suicide. The disturbing details of the case have led some to argue for the inclusion of an additional charge related to the unborn child. “It is hard to imagine a more clear-cut case for enforcing federal law for protecting unborn children than this one,” said Roger Severino, Vice President of Domestic Policy at the Heritage Foundation. “The very existence of the unborn child was the very evidence against this monster.” Birchmore had shared her excitement about the pregnancy with Farwell through a text message, including a photo of a handmade card that read, “Congrats, we are going to be parents!” However, Farwell allegedly reacted negatively to the news, leading to the fatal incident. Assistant Special Agent in Charge Steve Kelleher from the Boston FBI emphasized the severity of Farwell's actions: “Matthew Farwell's gun and badge did not grant him authority to violate the Constitution and certainly didn't entitle him to sexually exploit, abuse, and rape a child before killing her and her unborn baby in an attempt to cover up his alleged crime.” The Unborn Victims of Violence Act, also known as "Laci and Conner's Law," could be applied in this case. The law, enacted in 2004, allows for separate charges if an unborn child is harmed or killed during a federal crime. Activists, including Colbe Mazzarella, president of the Pro-Life Legal Defense Fund, and Autumn Christensen of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, are pushing for the application of this law to Farwell's case. “The accusation that a police officer killed his former student and their unborn baby strikes horror in every feeling heart,” Mazzarella said. “This law was passed by Republicans and Democrats to punish and prevent many abusers who kill pregnant women or use violence to force a woman to abort their child.” Critics of the law, including the American Civil Liberties Union, argue that it could undermine a woman's right to make decisions about her own pregnancy. The ACLU has expressed concerns that recognizing the unborn child as a separate victim could threaten reproductive rights. Despite these concerns, the FBI's Kelleher noted additional evidence that Birchmore had no intention of suicide, including recent attempts to book a newborn photo shoot and purchase baby clothes. “Our investigation also uncovered evidence inconsistent with someone choosing to die by suicide,” he said. The federal prosecutors have left the door open for additional charges, and the possibility remains that Farwell could face further legal repercussions. Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy has indicated that any new evidence will be thoroughly investigated. As legal and political debates continue, the case underscores the complexities of applying federal laws to crimes involving unborn children. For now, the focus remains on obtaining justice for both Sandra Birchmore and her unborn child. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? It's Thursday, July 25th, A.D. 2024. This is The World View in 5 Minutes written by Jonathan Clark and heard at www.TheWorldView.com. Filling in for Adam McManus I'm Ean Leppin. Christians in China Facing the Worst Persecution in Decades Bob Fu, the founder of China Aid, addressed the second International Religious Freedom Summit Asia in Tokyo this week. Fu said Christians in China are facing the worst persecution in decades. FU: “Between 100 to 130 million Chinese Christians are now currently experiencing the worst Christian persecution we have not seen since the cultural revolution in 40 years.” Fu said China has moved from trying to control Christianity to eradicating it. For example, the Chinese Communist Party forbids children from believing in Christianity. Officials encourage family members of Christians to report them. Authorities have also banned private Christian education and many foreign missionaries. Fu goes on to say that part of eradicating Christianity involves criminalizing aspects of it. FU: “The recent trend shows the Communist party even tried to criminalize the most fundamental elements of Christian worship. Pastors, one after another, had been arrested for simply putting up an offering box, are now being criminalized as business fraud. So many pastors already got sentenced from three years, four years, seven years imprisonment for collecting the tithing and offerings.” Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in China, ranked the 19th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian. Christians in Scotland feel Excluded A recent survey from Logos Scotland found most Christians in the country feel excluded from public life. Seventy-percent of respondents believe the Scottish government does not support them. A similar number said they are concerned about abuse leveled at Christian politicians. Most also said they have experienced discrimination for their faith. Scotland's latest census data from 2022 found people who identify with no religion outnumbered those who do identify with a religion for the first time. Netanyahu speaks to Congress As reported by NBC News. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday delivered an impassioned speech to Congress, taking on protesters inside the House chamber and thousands gathered outside the Capitol. It was his first address to U.S. lawmakers in nearly a decade and the first since Hamas' Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel killed 1,200 people and resulted in the taking of over 240 hostages to Gaza, where about 100 are still believed to be held captive. Netanyahu spoke about that day. NETANYAHU: “October 7th is a day that will forever live in infamy. It was [a] Jewish holiday. It began as a perfect day - not a cloud in the sky. Thousands of young Israelis were celebrating at an outdoor music festival. And suddenly, at 6:29am, 3000 Hamas terrorists stormed into Israel. They butchered 1200 people from 41 countries, including 39 Americans. Proportionately, compared to our population size, that's like 29 9/11s in one day.” Netanyahu also emphasized the importance of the US and Israel standing together. NETANYAHU: “This is not a clash of civilizations. It's a clash between barbarism and civilization; between those who glorify death and those who sanctify life. America and Israel must stand together.” Vice President Harris Secures Democrat Delegates In the U.S., Vice President Kamala Harris has received enough support from Democrat delegates to become her party's nominee for president. She has secured 3,180 delegates, well over the required 1,976. This comes after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday and endorsed Harris. She went on to raise over $80 million for her campaign in the first 24 hours. The Democratic National Convention meets next month and plans to officially select their nominee by August 7. Trump Leads Harris in Polls Former President Donald Trump narrowly leads Vice President Kamala Harris in recent polls, according to Real Clear Politics. Trump led by three points in a CNN poll with an average lead of 1.7 points across recent polls. However, one poll from Reuters/Ipsos gave Harris a two-point lead. With many voters supporting Biden's decision to not run again, Harris is performing better against Trump than Biden did in the polls. Pro-abortion Work of Harris Speaking of Kamala Harris, the Vice President is an outspoken supporter of killing unborn babies. Emily Davis with Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America warned, “American women and babies lose if she's in office, because she will not stop. She knows whom she's beholden to financially. She is the preferred candidate of the abortion lobby.” Harris is known for targeting pro-life voices. As California's attorney general, she prosecuted whistleblower David Daleiden in 2016. Daleiden had exposed Planned Parenthood's sale of body parts from aborted babies. In an interview with Fox News Senator Marco Rubio of Florida said this concerning a potential presidency of Kamala Harris. RUBIO: “Kamala Harris is owned by the left. She is a product of the left wing of the Democratic party, whether it's defunding ICE, getting rid of ICE, defunding the police. Single payer health care- I know she's changed her positions when she became the vice presidential nominee. But these are the things she fought for and stood for and voted for when she was a senator, and that's what she'll do when she's president. She is a committed California left wing Democrat. And she will be the most radically left president this country will ever have if she were elected.” Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Happy Birthday John Newton! And finally, this week marks the birthday of John Newton. He was born on July 24, 1725 in London. Newton was a captain of slave ships in his early life. While at sea, a severe storm brought him to his spiritual senses, leading to his eventual conversion. Newton went on to marry, become a pastor, and work to end the slave trade. Newton is probably best known for his hymns. Each week he would write a hymn to a familiar tune. Of his hundreds of hymns, he is especially remembered for “Amazing Grace,” “Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken,” and “How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds!” Newton wrote his own epitaph for his tombstone which says, “JOHN NEWTON. Clerk. Once an infidel and libertine, a servant of slaves in Africa was by the rich mercy of our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST preserved, restored, pardoned and appointed to preach the faith he had long laboured to destroy. Near 16 years as Curate of this parish and 28 years as Rector of St. Mary Woolnoth.” Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” And that's The World View in 5 Minutes on this Thursday, July 25th, in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Tuesday, May 7th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Pakistani Muslims attacked Christian family Last month, a Pakistani Christian, Ashraf Yousaf, and his two brothers and two sisters were attacked by Muslim neighbors in the Punjab District. The Muslim attackers confiscated their wheat crop. Thus far, the police have done nothing to help them. In fact, their attackers have filed charges against the Christian family. Ashraf told The Christian Post that “We have lost everything: our livelihood, our money, and most of all, the hope of getting justice.” Russian saber rattling More saber rattling from Russia this week. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the Russian Defense Ministry will conduct tactical nuclear weapons drills in the near future. This comes after what the Russians referred to as “provocative statements and threats against Russia [made by certain Western officials.]” The tests involve any or all deployments short of a nuclear explosion. England sends $4 billion to Ukraine Late last week, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron promised Ukraine $4 billion of annual support for the war, reports Reuters. He acknowledged the weapons could be used to strike targets inside of Russia. Warren Buffet addressed his mortality The sixth richest man in the world spoke to his own mortality at the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in Omaha, reports CNBC. Warren Buffet, age 94, told the gathering that “I shouldn't be taking on any four-year employment contracts, like several people are doing in this world, at an age when you can't be quite that sure where you're going to be in four years.” Buffet's foundation: The largest single abortion funder Warren Buffet and his foundation, named after his late wife, constitutes the most powerful non-governmental, pro-abortion advocate in the world. Indeed, Forbes.com lists the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation as “the largest single donor supporting abortion rights in the U.S.” According to the World Health Organization's Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation provides half a billion dollars per year to pro-abortion causes. That's about equivalent to the entire U.S .government funding of Planned Parenthood. And 20 times the income of the five largest pro-life groups in America — 40 Days for Life, Americans United for Life, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, National Right to Life, and American Life League. Psalm 37:35-36 speaks of this. “I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a native green tree. Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more. Indeed, I sought him, but he could not be found.” Survey: Disney should return to wholesome programming The Rasmussen Reports national survey discovered that 71% of American adults agree with the statement that, “Disney should return to wholesome programming and allow parents to decide when their children are taught about sexuality.” Only 22% disagree with the statement. Also, the survey found that only 33% of Republicans view Disney in a favorable light, and only 46% of Americans overall have a favorable view of Disney. Nonetheless, this seemingly impregnable entertainment giant's annual revenues topped $89 billion in Fiscal Year 2023, up from $83 billion in FY 2022, and $67 billion in FY 2020. Saudi Arabian bank loans money to anti-“gay” Uganda First, the World Bank suspended loans for the nation of Uganda because of its stand against homosexuality. And now, Uganda's government has announced obtaining a sizable loan of $295 million for infrastructure from Saudi Arabia's Islamic Development Bank, reports Reuters. Indeed, over the last decade, Arabic countries have invested $100 billion into Africa. In addition, over the last two decades, China has invested $170 billion into Africa. Pro-homosexual “mainline” Protestant denominations are dying Pro-homosexual religious denominations in the U.S. have lost membership. The United Methodists have dropped from 11 million to 5.4 million, with only 1.5 million attending in 2022. The Presbyterian Church USA has dropped from 4.5 million to 1.1 million as of 2022. And the Evangelical Lutheran Church has dropped from 5.6 million to 2.9 million, with only 500,000 attending weekly. In total, only 3 million remain attending these mainline denominations. That's just 1% of the U.S. population, compared to 21% of Americans who claim to be Evangelical. As The Worldview reported on May 2nd, the United Methodist General Assembly struck down its longtime ban on homosexual clergy last week by a vote of 447 to 233. It also removed the ban on performing faux weddings for homosexual men and lesbian women living in unnatural relations with one another, by a vote of 479 to 203. In John 15:5-6, Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” Gun jams when church gunman attempts to kill pastor And finally, during a Pennsylvania church worship service on Sunday, a gunman stepped into the aisle, took aim at the pastor, and pulled the trigger. But, by the mercies of God, the gun jammed, and several congregants tackled 26-year-old Bernard Junior Polite, reports CNN. It's not clear why the suspect tried to shoot the pastor. In fact, Pastor Glenn Germany said he had never seen the gunman before. The topic of abortion is making a huge appearance this election year, but political speeches often distort the realities on the ground. Misinformation and carefully-crafted language can make it easy to think that a vote for abortion is a vote for the empowerment of women while a vote against it endangers women's health, dignity, and welfare. Today Cinthia interviews two women who are involved in the ongoing battle for the lives of babies in the womb and for legislation that truly protects the health of women and girls. [A note here: We know that this topic can be deeply painful for many people, but avoiding it only causes more harm and pain. If abortion is part of your story, please know that there is help and healing available and that God longs to pour out His mercy on us. You can grieve; you can heal both from what has been done to you and from what you have done. Please reach out to safe people for assistance. Look for a safe, healthy pastor, therapist, or ministry that walks people through these journeys on a regular basis; many pregnancy resource centers have support groups or counseling available for those who have had abortions.] Emily Erin Davis is the Vice President of Communications for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. She is an international communicator, author, and humanitarian who is also the mother of two children born from unplanned pregnancies by the time she was 22 years old. She recalls being pressured to have abortions in each case, though she was able to withstand that pressure and have both children instead. Davis confronts the idea that abortion is empowering to women. She reports that the majority of surveyed women who have had abortions report that their abortions were inconsistent with their own values, with many reporting force or coercion having been used to influence them toward abortion. Davis indicates that abortion coercion is a reality not being openly discussed, one that is highly relevant to the question of whether individual women's choices are actually the ones being protected by abortion laws. The majority report having had abortions for non-emergency reasons that had more to do with a lack of financial or emotional support than with a desire to choose abortion. “This isn't even the first choice of women,” says Davis. “The pregnancy is not the problem.” She states that women “want lifelines, not life-enders.” Meanwhile, of women surveyed who considered abortion but chose instead to give birth, Davis reports that the percentage who now state they love these children and are glad they did not abort is in the “high nineties.” She states that women with unplanned pregnancies often fear that “your life is over” because of the pregnancy, but that this is not the case. “You are going to get through this,” she states, emphasizing that there are resources available and people who want to help. “This is not the end for you or your child.” She also notes, “Nobody complains that they did not have an abortion.” Davis emphasizes that abortion is a human rights issue. She reports that the United States is one of only seven countries in the world to allow elective abortion past 20 weeks of gestation, making us a “global outlier” and “a pariah” in the eyes of most countries in the world and categorizing us with countries such as China and Vietnam that are known more generally for human rights violations. Davis is especially attuned to this concern since she grew up in Taiwan, where her father counseled many who had experienced the carnage of China's abortion laws at that time; she recalls that girls, as well as boys with any kind of prenatal defect, were targeted for abortion at that time and place, though the specific targets of abortion can, she says, “change with the cultural wind.” Davis indicates that misinformation about the laws on ballots is prevalent right now. For example, women in Ohio were recently told that they needed to vote for abortion legislation as a way of ensuring they would have access to miscarriage care, though this was untrue. She says that parental consent and notification laws, conscience laws that protect doctors, etc., are being targeted by proposed laws around the country, particularly the “Women's Health Protection Act,” which strips any and all protections against abortion (e.g., restrictions on the availability of abortion at any point in pregnancy, parental consent and notification laws, conscience laws for doctors, etc.). U.S. funding is also being channeled toward Planned Parenthood and away from pregnancy resource centers. Davis states that Biden, when asked to identify when human life begins, stated that this was “a Republican trap” and that he did not have to answer that. Davis asks, “At what point does the child in the womb receive human rights? At what point are they worthy of protection?” Pelosi referred to abortion being important for our nation's economy. Davis encouraged voters to pursue education about this topic and to know where representatives and other politicians stand; she explained that sbaprolife.org has information on each federal candidate, including stances and voting records. She encouraged those who are pro-life to “lean into these uncomfortable conversations.” Cinthia agrees with Davis that abortion is “sold as a way to fix things and move on” but that it “ignores the impact to the body and mind of the woman.” She states that how we value the least of these impacts our own self-worth, and that a society that provides abortion on demand for humans but disallows euthanizing an animal without just cause has lost its perspective. Even societies that sacrificed infants to pagan gods valued their children more than this, she explains, noting, “Babies were sacrificed to gods because they were valuable;” as horrific as those sacrifices were, our nation is devaluing these children even more by treating them as “throw-aways.” Cinthia states that our society has developed a mentality that wants to make uncomfortable things simply disappear and that we need to understand our actions matter because we matter. Cinthia visits next with Dr. Ingrid Skop, M.D., FACOG, an OB/Gyn who has delivered over 5,000 babies and is the Vice President and Director of Medical Affairs for the Charlotte Lozier Institute. Her bio, available at https://lozierinstitute.org/team-member/ingrid-skop-m-d-facog/, includes publication of research in multiple peer-reviewed articles regarding maternal mortality, abortion, and women's health; providing expert testimony at the state and federal levels on legislation related to abortion; and opposing politicians who “choose not to follow the science regarding fetal heartbeat and development.” Dr. Skop reports that misinformation is being used to accomplish political goals and that the reaction to the overturning of Roe v. Wade has been characterized by “fearmongering and lies.” She states that we have been told maternal mortality is going to increase and that women will not get needed care, but that this is “absolutely untrue.” Dr. Skop reports that every state with abortion restrictions allows for exception to protect the woman's life, though this is hardly ever needed. (Dr. Skop explains that it is necessary at times to deliver a baby early in order to save the life of the mother, but that everything is done in these cases to attempt to save the life of the child; actually needing to abort the child for the sake of the mother's medical stability is rare.) Dr. Skop reports that all states with abortion restrictions allow exceptions for ectopic pregnancies, for example, and that the spread of misinformation about these issues is an attempt to “frighten the public,” including pregnant women and doctors. Dr. Skop explains that 95-97% of abortions in the U.S. are for financial and social reasons; she states that those who describe tragic medical circumstances to protect abortion access do not know or acknowledge that exceptions always exist in the laws for these circumstances. She also indicates that the current access to abortion pills is itself medically dangerous to women since these medications are being mailed to anyone who requests them with no legitimate screening for risk factors for taking them (e.g., ectopic pregnancy) or for the existence of coercion; 63% of America's one million abortions last year were performed with these kinds of drugs, though this can occur in ways that are “totally medically unsupervised.” Even medical data is sometimes used in deceptive ways. For example, claims are made that chemical abortion is “safer than Tylenol” for the woman, but this is deceptive. “We have almost no good data,” explains Dr. Skop, because the numbers are not mandatorily reported. Dr. Skop has cared for many women with physical and mental health complications from abortions, including hemorrhages, infection, and needing surgery. She has seen the impact on mental health and notes that women are six times as likely to commit suicide in the year following an abortion than if they carry their babies to term. Dr. Skop reports that women and girls sometimes take abortion pills having been told they are aborting “a clump of cells,” and then are shocked to recognize arms, legs, and a human shape to what is expelled. She states, “The American public has been gaslighted about this, and euphemisms have been used to the point that people don't even really understand what is happening.” Like Davis, Dr. Skop emphasizes that the demand for abortion is being misrepresented. She states that most women who have abortions do not want them but feel desperate because of other circumstances; she notes, “There are so many other ways to deal with social problems” in our society. She also repeatedly refers to the existence of coercion toward abortion by men and others in the lives of pregnant women. While she does not state that the American public generally opposes abortion, she does state that it is much closer to pro-life than to the anytime-for-any-reason ideology being advocated by politicians. She also states that approximately 90% of doctors do not do elective abortions and that their representing agencies are advocating their own ideologies and not those of the doctors they represent. She states that most obstetricians “know they have two patients and want to care for both.” In her years as a psychotherapist and current work as a life coach, Cinthia has also worked with many women who have mental health complications from abortion. She states that women are biologically wired to love the child with which they become pregnant, that they “can't help but love that child no matter what,” and that, when we encourage women and girls to consider abortion, “we are setting up women to be murdering and then have to live with that for the rest of their life.” Cinthia and Dr. Skop both emphasize that women and girls with unplanned pregnancies may be in difficult situations and often do not realize that there are people who want to help. Like other people in difficult situations, these women and girls need people around them who are “strong enough to help them think through what is happening” and access the many resources that exist. Cinthia emphasizes to clients considering abortion that, while abortion is sold as a way to make the problem disappear and make life go back to normal, this decision will have implications for the rest of their lives; it is not like going and getting your teeth cleaned or having another medical procedure that simply takes care of a medical issue and frees the patient to move forward in life. Dr. Skop emphasizes that this is not simply a political issue, but “at its root an intensely spiritual and moral issue” which we “should be unafraid to address from the pulpit.” Cinthia encourages us as a society to stop “searing our own conscience” so that we see things in a way that is upside-down and backwards, allowing ourselves to do what seems like it will make problems go away but which compounds them astronomically. Again, if you have experienced or participated in abortion in any way, we emphasize that there is help, hope, mercy, and forgiveness. God can heal, and He does it all the time. Please go to Him. Tell Him where you are with this whole issue – honestly and completely. Let Him give you mercy, protection, and courage. And then, with His guidance, seek help from safe people who know about the aftermath of abortion and who can help you make this journey. Grace and peace to you.

It's Monday, February 5th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Theology professor fired for upholding Biblical sexual ethic A theology professor in Derbyshire, England, has been fired from a Methodist Bible university after sharing his Biblical beliefs on social media, reports International Christian Concern. Dr. Aaron Edwards, an employee at Cliff College for seven years, was dismissed for publicly criticizing the Methodist Church and its unbiblical views on marriage. Edwards' employer had accused him of “bringing the college into disrepute.” On February 19, 2023, Edwards tweeted, “Homosexuality is invading the Church. Evangelicals no longer see the severity of this because they're busy apologizing for their apparently barbaric homophobia, whether or not it's true. This is a ‘Gospel issue,' by the way. If sin is no longer sin, we no longer need a Saviour.” The professor's tweet drew push back from several homosexual groups, prompting Cliff College to call the post “unacceptable” and “inappropriate,” demanding the professor remove the tweet. Isaiah 5:20 describes perfectly both the push back of the homosexual groups and the cowardly, unbiblical Cliff College. “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.” Truth be told, Cliff College brought itself into disrepute. To his credit, Edwards refused to take down the post, arguing it would violate his conscience. He further pointed out that the post was not defamatory to any individual in particular and was, therefore, not in violation of the school's social media policy. Despite his sincere efforts, the school opened an investigation, leading to the professor's suspension and subsequent dismissal. Unbelievably, school officials threatened to refer him to the U.K. government's counter terrorism and hate speech unit. Edwards is suing Cliff College for unfair firing and compensation under England's Equality Act. U.S. hits hard at militias in Iraq and Syria On Friday, the U.S. military launched an air assault on dozens of sites in Iraq and Syria used by Iranian-backed militias and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, reports the Associated Press. This was retaliation for the drone strike that killed three U.S. troops in Jordan last weekend. The massive barrage of strikes hit more than 85 targets at seven locations, including command and control headquarters, intelligence centers, rockets and missiles, drone and ammunition storage sites that were connected to the militias or Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force. The Force is the Guard's expeditionary unit that handles Tehran's relationship with and arming of regional militias. The U.S. strikes appeared to stop short of directly targeting Iran or senior leaders of the Revolutionary Guard Quds Force within its borders, as the U.S. tries to prevent the conflict from escalating even further. Iran has denied it was behind the Jordan attack. Protesters rally in Texas against entry of illegal immigrants Here in America, hundreds of people converged Saturday in trucks, vans and RVs, in southern Texas to rally against what they say is an illegal immigrant "invasion," demanding tough new controls at the U.S. border with Mexico, reports AFP. Scrawled on the side of one of the vehicles reaching Quemado, Texas -- population 162 -- were the words "Join the God Fight." The convoy decided to gather in this tiny town along the Rio Grande river, which forms the natural border between the United States and Mexico, as debate swirls again about how to address record high illegal immigrant crossings. Hundreds of thousands of people from Central and South America, and beyond, have waded illegally across the river in recent months. But their huge numbers have become a galvanizing issue, especially ahead of the November presidential election, with Republicans in Congress blocking additional U.S. aid to Ukraine and Israel over demands that President Joe Biden does more to stop the flow. And so it is at tiny Quemado that the activist group calling itself "We the People" -- the first words in the preamble to the U.S. Constitution -- decided to meet and make their anger known. Under the slogan "Take our border back," these activists, traveling in convoys from the across the United States, have been arriving in towns along the border to camp -- and protest -- this past weekend. Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America to spend $100 million on presidential election A national pro-life advocacy organization aims to spend nearly $100 million and knock on over 4 million doors ahead of the 2024 presidential election, reports the Christian Post. The November election outcome could have major implications for the future of abortion policy in the United States. In a statement Thursday, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America announced it will collaborate with its partner organization Women Speak Out PAC to "spend $92 million and reach 10 million voters to protect life across America." The figure exceeds the $56 million spent in the 2020 election cycle and the $78 million the group pledged to spend during the 2022 midterm election cycle. The campaign's hundreds of thousands of volunteers will canvas in eight battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Bloody Mary's first Protestant martyr And finally, on February 4th, 1555, John Rogers, an English Protestant clergyman and Bible translator, was burned at the stake in England by Queen Mary I, also known as “Bloody Mary.” She was determined to violently restore Roman Catholicism. Translating the Bible into commonly spoken English, Rogers published The Matthew Bible under the pseudonym Thomas Matthew. Rogers' work constituted the first complete English Bible and commentary. On January 28 and 29, 1555, he came before the commission appointed by Catholic Cardinal Reginald Pole. He was sentenced to death by Catholic Bishop Stephen Gardiner for the so-called sin of denying the Christian character of the Church of Rome and the alleged real presence of Jesus Christ in the symbolic elements of bread and wine of Catholic communion. Even though Rogers was denied a meeting with his wife, he awaited and met death cheerfully. Shortly before his execution, Rogers was offered a pardon if he were to recant, but he refused. As he was marched to the site of his execution, the irrepressible John Rogers sang the Psalms. In John 16:2, Jesus said, “The time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.” Tragically, that is exactly what Bloody Mary thought, that she was offering a service to God by killing Protestant leaders who loved God's Word.
