2014 American romantic comedy film by Max Nichols

As a snowstorm hits the northeastern United States, we prophetically chose to watch a movie that deals with a freak blizzard that keeps two twenty-somethings snowed in after initially looking for a quick hook up. That's right, as you surely can guess, it's 2014's Two Night Stand, a low-stakes sort-of rom-com directed by Mike Nichols's son. Get snowed in with Leigh, Brendan, and Chris as they remotely watch this movie (thanks, Covid!) and discuss how rom-coms have mutated over the last decade or so, our thoughts on Miles Teller, and the genuinely unhinged act-three-romantic-gesture (truly, it's nuts). But, uh, at least there's a cocktail (actually, we didn't actually get to drink our cocktail, thanks Covid!). Remember, please mask up and stuff! Continue reading →

Two nights and three watches with the charming Miles Teller. And perhaps the more generally accepted charms of a dancing Lio Tipton in the little discussed (except for in one host's mind) TWO NIGHT STAND from the lineage that brought you THE GRADUATE and WOLF. When are we going to do an episode on Jack Nicholson urinating on James Spader by the way? Perhaps October??? Anyway ON THIS EPISODE we discuss the button combinations one must hit to perform a sexual finishing move on one's partner. And also this lovely romcom. Enjoy your education!

Two Night Stand is the story of Megan played by Lio Tipton. Megan is single, unemployed, crashing at her sisters apartment… we get the impression life has not been kind to Megan lately. After an embarrassingly awkward run in with her ex Chris, Megan decides to join a dating website. Immediately she matches and starts chatting with a guy named Alec, played by Miles Teller. Megan, in a spontaneous episode of pure adult antics throws caution to the wind and decides to immediately meet up with Alec AT his apartment… and that is the origins of our story for Two Night Stand.
