Todd is starting off his year on a "positive" note while Arie celebrates his birthday, death day. As yinz know, Texas is hot. Todd brings it up all the time and he's here to quench his thirst with some Ranch Fire. On the other hand, Arie snags one of his favorite locale IPAs to kick off 2022. Speaking of the heat, Wendy's cranks it up a notch in the kitchen in celebration of 'National Roast Day,' there will be 'Chaos & Carnage' ripping through North America, and we cover what can only be known as 'National Deathcore Day' with one of the strongest release days we've seen in a while! One of those releases just so happens to be this week's featured band. Break in case of fire when you hear the aboslute SHRED impaling your ear holes. ARISE! Turn it up to 11, crack open that beer, it's about to get BREWTAL! https://linktr.ee/brewtal This week's episode features Axes of the Voivode 2 (feat. Dallas Toler-Wade of Narcotic Wasteland and Ex-Nile) from Porgressive Death Metal Outfit Arise From Worms Bio: “Arise from Worms” will eat your musical vocabulary for breakfast and compost you a newfound respect for what is to come Forged throughout the 2020 pandemic, Arise from Worms is the Shred Child of Sonny Lombardozzi (Ex-Incantation), Steve Tucker (Morbid Angel), Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy/Vltimas). The group came together as a result of the 2019 Sickenss Tour, when Sonny spent 2 months on the road with Steve. During this time they decided that they would love to collaborate on a project! Steve had mentioned that they should approach Flo with the offer and without hesitation he was in. Combining the classic elements of death metal, while creating arrangments that push the form to new heights. AFW's influences span the gambit fromm Neo-classical/classical greats like Niccolo Paganini to moments of tech Jazz and even crossing into the world of Video Game midi sound tracks, while never losing its absolute pummeling brutality. Not even for one goddamn second! AFW is not only the culmination of its members' influences, but most of all is fueled by the forward thinking, and boundless arranging/playing style, of Sonny. But it makes Ben want to hydrate and have sugar, so he’s having some homemade sports drink. Which causes things to go more off the rails then one might expect. Ryan is finally getting around to the Beyond Resin IPA from Upland Brewing Company, which leads to a much more expected discussion on hop varietals. A brief cut later and Joe tells us that he’s having a Butterbeer from Ozark Mountain Bottleworks. Which is “very butterbeer-y”, according to Joe. 00:35:51 - Next, we talk about how busting apart asteroids, a la Armageddon, is actually a tougher job than we thought because of a pesky little thing called gravity but we’re going to test some other asteroid deflection techniques with the upcoming DART mission, so don’t despair yet! 00:55:22 - Finally, the PaleoPOW where we get feedback and give it back to you! So many tasty brews and pies filled the room at the Ivy Tech Community College Culinary and Conference Center along with jhhugames and music from DJ Kyle Long.  Pauly G., Dougy Fresh, and Jordan enjoyed spent another fun evening meeting new beer friends and reminiscing with old friends.   Arts for Learning Development Director, Jennifer Collins, gives the ins and outs of this special event where all the proceeds go each year along with some “chocolatey” upcoming events.   Even though they hit their goal early on, the Pigs thought it would only be right to donate, on the behalf of Indy comedian, Jeremy Brown, an extra $500 since he decided to go to church instead of joining us for the evening. (They do take cash, Jeremy, and thank you in advance.) Beer and pinball extraordinaire, Round Town’s very own,  Mr. Eric Fear, chats about the so many fabulous brews and events coming up for Round Town.   The almost too young chef from Hops & Fire Pizza chats for a few and dishes out some of his killer pies, and as usual, the boys from Moontown (overall winners for the evening) join the Pigs for a few rounds of laughs and brew talk with their new Brew Master, Cody Peczkowski.   Tune in and then join us next year for the 4th Annual Indy Pies and Pints.     Shout outs in this week’s episode include:  Fountain Square Brewery;  Quack Daddy’s;  Black Circle; New Holland Brewery;  Next Hop Model;  Sinking Ship;  One Well Brewery;  Hot Box Pizza;  Brozinni Pizzeria;  Kevin Fertig;  and Upland Brewing Company

What would you do with $173?  Would you buy a power plant?  Perhaps another house, or dos, to supply power to and earn more money from?  Those questions are answered in this week’s episode of Beer’d Gamers by none other than Teej, Mister One-Hundred-And-Seventy-Three-Dollars-Money-Bags himself. We’re playing Power Grid in this week’s episode, and we have a complete blast while doing so.  Power Grid is a Euro-style game where players use strategy rather than dice to outwit, outspend, and outearn the other players.  Each round the players bid on power plants, which are then used to power homes.  Players need to watch price points, resources needed and consumed, as well as how many homes each power plant is able to power.  It’s a game of money-management, but trust us, it is way more fun than just that. Power Grid retails for roughly $40-45 depending on the seller, and is another game that we definitely recommend. This week in beers we’ve got Teej drinking Teddy Bear Kisses by Upland Brewing Company, Schnell enjoys Arrogant Bastard Ale (because he is one) by Arrogant Brewing, Junior imbibes Buffalo Sweat (because he’s weird) from Tallgrass Brewing Company, and Nelson enjoys Hanalei IPA from Kona Brewing Company.

Unpretentious:  The one word that can summarize the dining philosophy as it relates to their cuisine, service staff, and ambiance of Madison’s which located in the heart of downtown Pendleton, IN. Through the little hall just past the garden patio and indoor family dining rests a charming little, prohibition era like, adult only bar which boasts one of the best stocked bars in the Midwest with an eclectic wine list, an amazing array of whiskeys, and a wide variety of domestic, craft beers.   The Pigs thought they died and went to heaven.  The Pigs were invited for their World Tour of Whiskey event and had the pleasure of chatting with owner and chef, Dan Stackpoole, before their delightful whiskey journey.  It was easy to figure out after hearing Dan talk about his passion for food and drinks just why Madison’s has such a fantastic selection of fine wines and whiskeys.  Only the best of the best make their way to this overflowing bar of goodies.  The warm, quant, brick atmosphere, along with the savory menu and mammoth drink selection, is enough to provide anyone with a congenial time while dining at Madison’s. But it’s the great staff and local regulars who treat everyone who walks in the door as part of the family that will keep you coming back time and time again. Tune in to this week’s episode to hear about Dan’s journey to Madison’s, it’s great food and drinks, and some of the great live, original music you may encounter while you are there.  Also hear from Mayor elect, Dwayne, who joined the boys after the whiskey tour as they discussed some of their favorites of the evening. Shout outs included: Fall Perk’s Coffee House, Quack Daddy Donuts, The Bier Brewery, Redemption Alewerks, Taxman Brewing Company, The Guardian Brewing Company, Chapman’s Brewing Company, Chilly Water Brewing, Upland Brewing Company, Fountain Square Brewing Company, Rick Garrett(the tenderloin man),  Evil Czech Brewery, Tin Man Brewing Company, and the 12.05 Distillery.
