Hey Food Allergy Mama, Introducing allergens to your baby or trying new foods with your child can be nerve-wracking and scary because of food allergies. Sometimes just the thought of trying a new food can turn your stomach and make you nauseous. Maybe your child already has a food allergy, or maybe their sibling does. Or maybe you just feel nervous because of things you've heard.  All of these things are valid reasons for feeling nervous, and it's ok; you're not alone or different for feeling this way. I want you to know that this is your safe space where you're understood. We've all heard the importance of introducing allergens early, and sometimes your doctor recommends an oral food challenge, or that your child needs to increase their food variety.  So what do you do? How can you move past all those feelings of fear to do what's right for your child? In this episode, I'll give you 3 game-changing steps for moving forward so you don't have to think about it anymore.  You can try new foods with confidence! If you're ready to take on the challenge of trying new food or introducing allergens, this episode is for you! I pray this blesses you, and I'm cheering for you, Corinna Next Steps: 1. Veggies & Virtue: Easy Meal Ideas for Families, Healthy Snacks for Kids, Picky Eating Help

In episodes one and two from this four-part series, we talked about: Consistency and how not incorporating variety in the small things can add up to aversions elsewhere in the diet of picky eaters (part one; episode 134) Crutches and how we can stunt our family's growth and/or our child's development when we lean too much on a given love it food (part two, episode 135) Now, as we dive into the third C that can perpetuate picky eating and poor nutrition, we get into the Crinkly & Cute nature of pre-packaged foods. As a busy mom of three myself, I know that having foods ready to go is key to being successful at snack time. However, just as the consistency of these packaged foods can create challenges and over-offering them can create an unhealthy crutch, we need to tune into the risks that come with cute and crinkly packages as well. Because beyond the nutrition that is often the assumed evil in snack foods, I see the marketing to our kids with such snack foods making an even bigger issue. Tune in to the episode for some easy to implement action steps you can take immediately for healthier summer snacking.   SHOWNOTES: Want to get on the waitlist for Mealtimes Made Easy Method? Encouraging your kids to eat their vegetables and try new foods is no easy feat. Perhaps you've tried bribing them with dessert, cajoling them with statements like “just take a bite, you might like it,” or tried sneaking vegetables into soups and smoothies, but nothing has worked and you're ready to give up. In this episode, I'm talking with Jenny Friedman, M.S. a registered dietitian who works with extremely picky eaters and children with severe food aversions, and author of “Stories of Extreme Picky Eating.” Jenny and I talk about the surprising reasons kids won't eat, sensory issues that can lead to picky eating, and what parents often say that can make picky eating worse. We also talk about what the research shows about getting kids to eat their vegetables and try new foods, and what you can do if you're really concerned about your picky eater. Be sure to sign up for the free video course, Turn Your Picky Eaters Into Little Foodies: https://www.julierevelant.com/free-video-email-course/.
