On this extra special (and quite long) episode, Brandon from the Namely 90s podcast sits down with us to chat about the August 93 edition of Nintendo Power. We talk about good bad Street Fighter II art, Star Trek, Aliens, and much more. Which Looney Toon character is the most problematic? How's that Star Fox comic going? What's up with the purple goo in Zombies Ate my Neighbors? Did some random NP reader speedrun TMNT IV faster than anyone else in history? And what games introduced at CES 93 not make it to market? We'll get to the bottom of some of those questions. We want to shout out a few folks today. Of course the Namely 90s Podcast, listen to Brandon and Andrew talk about what happened in a different month from the 90s in every episode. Also check out The Weekly Cooldown, on which Link was a guest recently. And give a listen to all the shows Brandon recently guested on: Everything 90s, The Nostalgia Test, and All 90s Action All the Time. OH, and the Prime Nostalgia Podcast.

Zombies Ate My Neighbours has been one of the most requested games for us to cover on the show over the last couple years. I never played it back in my youth, and honestly, I kinda wrote it off. I thought it looked generic. One of those games that ended up selling for $19.99 after the console generation was coming to an end. But then I played it. This game kicks ass. It's tough, but fair(ish). The combination of 'easy to learn, tough to master' mechanics and randomly generated item drops keeps you coming back for one more game, and every time you get past the level that beat you on your last attempt, you feel rejuvenated and want to keep going. I like Zombies Ate My Neighbours now. My guest, the incomperable Thaddeus Archer the Third, has always been a fan. We finally put our heads together and had a nice chat about saving BBQ'ing weirdos and cheerleaders from demon baby dolls, and you can listen it on it this week. And of course, before we talk Zombies, it's the Remember The Game Infamous Intro! This week, we look at the best retro gaming soundtracks, and retro series we'd like to see continued (a discussion sparked by Streets of Rage 4). We also look at the possibility of Nintendo 64 games coming to Switch, and if they do, whether or not we'd like to see Nintendo release N64 controllers for the Switch like they did with NES and SNES controllers. Plus, we have another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One'. This time, it's the 'retro halloween-y games' edition, featuring Zombies Ate my Neighbours, Splatterhouse 2, and Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts! If you want to skip to something specific, here's where to go: 0:00 - Intro 2:50 - Initial self-indulgent rambling & 'Expansion Pass #46: Play One/Remake One/Erase One - Hot Dog Edition' Clip 10:40 - 'Blowing In The Cartridge' (Listener comments & questions) 23:50 - 'Play One. Remake One. Erase One.' 32:30 - What have I been playing? 34:45 - Listener's 'Zombies Ate my Neighbours' Memories 37:20 + Zombie Talk! Enjoy the podcast!

The problems that blue-collar business face isn't all that different than those fortune 500s have to deal with. High turnover rates, stagnating growth, and untapped potential of employees. Are the solutions to these problems the same regardless of the business model? Jamie Gerdsen is the President and CEO of Apollo Home a home heating & cooling and electrical company, author of Squirrels, Boats, and Thoroughbreds and Zombies Ate my Business and is connecting with traditional businesses to help them grow and renew via Main Street Leadership. Jamie talks about how he wrote his first book from the personal lessons he had learned at Apollo Home and how with Peter's help they turned that book into an assessment that traditional businesses can use to understand where they are and ultimately how to get everyone focused in the same direction. Jamie and Peter discuss the need to ensure that if you write a book it is filled with content people will want to read and that you are not writing it to fulfill your own ego. Jamie has proven assessments can be a valuable asset. If you are thinking about making your own check out our 3 Tips and Tricks for Building an Awesome Assessment.
