On Keep It Positive, Sweetie, Tyler Perry recently gave his opinion on how couples should divide expenses. The actor and director opened the discussion by stating that Black women make more money than Black men do. He continued by saying that, in his opinion, it shouldn't be an issue if a man makes less money than his partner as long as he treats her well and makes a contribution."A lot of women, especially Black women, and I might get in trouble for saying this but I will," he began. "In our society right now, Black women are making a lot more money, for the most part, than Black men." Perry continued, "If you can find love, if that man works at whatever job and is a good man, and is good to you, and honors you, and honors the house, and honors his wife, and does what he can... because his gift might not be your gift, that is okay. That's not somebody that's beneath you. That's somebody who came to love you at your worth."Let me know your thoughts in the comment section on this conversation by Tyler Perry... A LeBron James-led team doesn't begin 0-4 often. Not since his rookie season has one of his teams stumbled out of the starting gate quite like this.''It's a new system. It's a new group of guys together,'' James explained. ''We're still trying to get familiar with one another.''Nikola Jokic had 31 points and 13 rebounds, Jamal Murray hit a big 3-pointer and the Denver Nuggets kept the Los Angeles Lakers winless with a 110-99 victory Wednesday night. The Lakers remain in the company of Orlando and Sacramento as the only teams yet to win this season.''We're four games and it sucks to lose, but we have 78 games left,'' new Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. ''It's plenty of time for us to right the ship. And it starts now.''Support the show
After the game, though, Kerr made clear he didn't believe the friction between Thompson and Booker on Tuesday stemmed from competitive animus alone:Steve Kerr says that some of the frustration Klay Thompson has been feeling with his minutes-restriction and the status of his game came out tonight and played a role in his ejection.Support the show
There was no celebration for the Oklahoma City Thunder after earning their first win of the season in four tries.Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 33 points and the Thunder defeated the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers 108-94 on Tuesday night.Oklahoma City coach Mark Daigneault said the players are more concerned with process than results as the young roster evolves. He said his team is ''robotic'' about feedback.''We just try to create like, an extremely ruthless consistency with our approach and just trust that if we do that, the guys will improve, the players will grow as they gain experience, things will slow down, their bodies will get stronger,'' he said. ''And we just trust in that deal.''The Clippers were without their two biggest stars. Kawhi Leonard sat out to rest his right knee and Paul George missed the game with an illness. Another starter, Marcus Morris, was out for personal reasons. Oklahoma City took advantage by holding the Clippers to 42% shooting.''I didn't fault our effort,'' coach Tyronn Lue said. ''I thought we did some good things, but we've just got to continue to keep getting better. When you're short-handed like that, the small things mean a lot. When you're missing Kawhi, PG & Marcus, all the small things add up.''Support the show
THOMPSON TOSSED AS SUNS BLOW OUT WARRIORS. The technical fouls were piling high in the third quarter. So was Devin Booker's point total and the Phoenix Suns' lead.By the time the whistles finally stopped, the Suns were well on their way to 134-105 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night in a game that featured Klay Thompson's first career ejection and seven technical fouls.Booker scored 34 points and Deandre Ayton added 16 points and 14 rebounds.''I thought emotionally, we kept it together when it was starting to get a little squirrelly,'' Suns coach Monty Williams said. ''We were able to make enough plays during that time where we could get back to solid.''Both teams lost their cool at various times during the third quarter, with all of the technical fouls called in less than six minutes. Thompson received two quick technicals and was ejected after having words with Booker, who also received a technical because of the exchange. At one point during the argument, Thompson held up four fingers to signify the four championships the Warriors have won over the past decade. Those rings didn't help on Tuesday. The veteran guard finished with two points on 1-for-8 shooting, including 0 of 5 from 3-point range. It was the five-time All-Star's first career ejection in 651 regular season games.''I love Klay Thompson, I have for a really long time,'' Booker said. ''But that doesn't excuse us from being competitive and talking to each other. I've always admired his game, how he plays on both sides of the ball, and obviously the rings speak for themselves.''But I'm going to bring it every time.''Support the show
Plenty of panic buttons have already been pushed among the wide swath of Los Angeles Lakers fans, but there doesn't seem to be any alarm coming from LeBron James following the 0-2 start. The Lakers will try to soothe their fan base and iron out some shooting woes when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday afternoon. The Lakers lost their season opener at the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, and then dropped their home opener to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. The Lakers were much more competitive against the Clippers, but still shot 9 of 45 from 3-point distance (20 percent), putting them at 22.4 percent for the season."Our ball club is our ball club. Philadelphia began the campaign with 126-117 road defeat against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday."We lost two games -- no moral victories," Philadelphia coach Doc Rivers said after the Thursday game. "(We) played two great teams.
