She started getting hormonal acne at 25. What changed was when she decided to take her health into her own hands and heal with holistic medicine, adaptogens, and stress management and when she realized that no one is perfect and that millions of women were going through the same thing as me - the thing was, few we're talking about it! She saw not only the healing power of plant medicine to boost her overall health and heal her skin from within, but also the power of self-love.She started Copina Co. to empower all to live their happiest, healthiest, most vibrant lives exactly as they are now. She got tired of beauty being tied to perfectionism and wanted to create space to build a new definition of beauty. She cold emailed the founder of Alinea and ended up as general counsel of a three Michelin star restaurant. She followed her passion for food and it brought her to an amazing opportunity, which then led her to founding her own company! With  the  arrival  of  her  daughter  in  2018,  she knew  she wouldn't  have  as  much  time  to  cook.  But  she didn't  want  her  family  to  subsist  solely  on  takeout.  She needed  something  around  the  house  that  was  tasty,  nutritious,  &  ready  at  a  moment's  notice.  She settled  on  frozen  mini-waffles:  a  crowd-pleaser  that  wouldn't  spoil  &  would  be  satisfying  as  breakfast  or  a snack. There  wasn't  an  option  on  the  market  that  checked  all  of  my  boxes,  so  she  started  tinkering  with  recipes.  She  was  hyper-focused  on  keeping  her  mini-waffles  clean:  no  refined  sugars,  no  dairy,  &  no  preservatives.  Flavored  only  by  real  fruits,  vegetables,  nuts,  &  spices.  To  ensure  my  ingredient  list  would  be  as  lean  as  possible,  she made  everything  from  scratch,  including  her  mixed  berry  jam. Emily Griffith is the CEO and founder of  Lil Bucks and has been obsessed with sprouted buckwheat ever since she first tasted it several years ago in a “life-changing” acai bowl in Sidney, Australia. While living in Australia, she discovered sprouted buckwheat and created Lil Bucks, a company to make and sell the crunchy, earthy-tasting seeds. She launched Lil Bucks in May 2018 at a fitness festival in Chicago. You can add them to granola, sprinkle them on salad, and dust them over yogurt! They are  a “superfood,” but the real benefit is their fiber (5 grams in a quarter-cup), protein (6 grams in a quarter-cup), their nice texture and alluring flavor. In this episode, we cover the road to entrepreneurship, dealing with burnout, long distance romance, planning a wedding during a pandemic, and traveling as a digital nomad!CONNECT WITH LIL BUCKSWebsiteInstagramUSE CODE LITUP for 15% off your order!CONNECT WITH LAURENInstagramWebsiteOTHER RESOURCESXOLAURENP for 20% off Sakara LITUPWITHLO for 15% off Just Thrive Lil Bucks New York Times featureLil Bucks Bon Appetit feature

Tina is the co-founder and CEO of Just Thrive, a supplement company based in Chicago, Illinois, that focuses on the critical importance of gut health. Just Thrive products can be found in over 1,000 retail locations, online at www.JustThriveHealth.com and Amazon. Her journey into the world of health had a unique start and some unusual turns. She began her career as a trial lawyer who specialized in settling cases by bringing both sides together, a personal passion of hers. Once her second child arrived, Tina left that high-stress job behind so she could focus on her family. Luckily, she was still able to use her considerable legal skills to point her career in a new direction as the in-house counsel for a family pharmaceutical company. But what Tina saw there made her change direction again. Frustrated by the many abuses in the pharmaceutical industry, Tina turned toward the field of natural health, and found her life's work. She channeled her energy into learning all she could about disease prevention and good health maintenance. That led her to discover the importance of gut health and how connected and crucial it is for overall health and wellness. To share her discovery with the world, Tina along with her husband created a unique supplement that contains the superior probiotic strains of renowned researcher Dr. Simon Cutting. By promoting gut health and probiotics, Tina shares her passion for wellness, helping others live their best physical and emotional lives.CONNECT WITH JUST THRIVEInstagramWebsite order the probiotic and any other gut health products with the code LITUPWITHLO for 15% offCONNECT WITH LAURENInstagramWebsiteOTHER RESOURCESTina on Wellness Mama PodcastTina on Food Heals PodcastTina on Bulletproof RadioTina on TSC Podcast Heart Math / Inner Balance CalmI Can See Clearly Now by Wayne DyerThe Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
