How many times have you reached out to someone; and poured your heart out; Doing for them as you would for your own children; and all you get in return is the fruit of ungratefulness. There is not even a mention of your kindness toward them. Not so with King David: He wanted the world to know that he was thankful for all the wonderful things that the Lord had done for him. These were his words and they are today's scripture reading; taken from Psalms 9 verse 1 which says: I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I have heard many testimonies of good acts of kindness that had nothing to show for them. The recipients remain unthankful and even rebellious. What are we to do with such ungrateful people? The bible says that we are to pray for them. Many of you have experienced this type of Love, and you know what I'm talking about. Some of you have loved and became separated because the Love could not endure under pressure. Do you want to know what true, enduring love is like? Lend me your ears and I will tell you what the bible says. With the sweet sound of the Anointing, the Apostle Paul said: Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) What can separate us from the Love of God? The answer is ‘Nothing.' When you accepted the Love that Jesus offers you, you become his; and he is not going to let you get away from him ; neither will he let anyone snatch you out of his hands. And he is serious about it; just as any man should be when he finds himself a wife. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Do you think it means that you are like a beggar; without food or money? If you said YES, you might be partially correct. Welcome to the Daily Podcast. It's good to be with you again This is Episode 49 and today's Scripture Reading comes from The Book of Matthew Chapter 5 and verse 3 which says: Blessed are the poor in spirit: For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Listen to what Jesus said in John Chapter 5 verse 30 and we'll go from there. He made this statement in public. He wanted everyone to know about his relationship with the Father and how important it was to his earthly ministry. He said: I can do nothing on my own. The Amplified Bible puts it this way: I can do nothing on my own initiative or authority. Just as I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just(fair, righteous, unbiased), because I do not seek My own will, but only the will of Him who sent Me. Jesus is saying that without the Father, he can do nothing: He always comes in agreement with what the Father says, and what the Father wants because the Father knows what is best. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

What I have discovered is that the man named Enoch walked faithfully with God, and kept his mind stayed on the Lord. For that reason, I am inclined to believe that he lived his life in peace. I say this because the bible says in Isaiah 26:3: You will keep him in perfect peace; Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Just listen to what Moses wrote concerning Enoch while he was under the anointing and inspiration of the Holy Spirit: When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. (Genesis 5:21-24) Enoch may have suffered persecution, and live for some time without peace; but there is no record of that. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Proverbs 4:23 says: Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it springs the issues of life. Everything passes through the heart and then out again. That's when a person's character is defined. The human heart has an overflow valve (so to speak) so that when it becomes filled with issues, it can release the overflow. A spontaneous response is usually from the overflow of the heart. Sometimes it is a God-given response; as was the case with Peter. In Matthew 16: When Jesus asked the question, ‘Who do men say that the Son of man is?' With scrupulous exactitude, he shouted; ‘Thou art the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:16). If you want to know what a person is all about, then take time to listen to their words and how they are presented. In their words, you will be able to recognize character traits; like anger, bitterness, greed, unforgiveness, just to mention a few. You will also be able to recognize Love, gentleness forgiveness patience and the like. In Matthew 7:15-20 Jesus said: You will know them by their fruits. No one expects to get oranges from a lemon tree; or grapes from thorn bushes. And so it is with the good and the evil heart. Well, that's only possible when people like you continue to do good and share what you have with others. Of course, the good Lord can intervene and do wonders. That act of doing good and sharing is very important in the lives of Christians; and may I say, in the lives of all people. When we think of giving, sharing, and doing good; the first thing that comes to mind is LOVE. A person can give without loving; but it is almost impossible to love without giving. LOVE is a giving thing. John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. The act of godly giving resonates from deep down in the soul where compassion dwells. A Proverb is not a Promise from God; so if it does not accomplish what it says, you have no reason to be upset with God. Yes, Proverbs is One of the 66 Books of the bible; and it is a very important part of the Canon of scripture. But before I begin to expound on today's verse (Proverbs 22:6); allow me to give you a definition of what a Proverb is. A Proverb is a Simple, Concrete, Traditional Truth based on common sense or experience. Proverbs are often used as a type of metaphor. Most cultures have their own unique proverbs. As a child growing up, I used to hear my mother say: ‘Where there is smoke, there is always fire.' Or ‘You don' know what you have, until you lose it.' Here are some Proverbs you may have heard before: A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. A bad workman always blames his tools. Actions speak louder than words. Now can you see the difference between a Proverb and a Promise made by God in scripture? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Before I go any further, I want you to know that it is my desire to explain the scriptures in the simplest way possible so that even a child could understand. For this reason, you can feel safe to have your children listen to the Podcast. The primary language is English, but we hope to have it translated into several languages. Praise the Lord. Today's scripture says: For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Throughout the New Testament, the Greek word, ‘SOZO' is used for salvation. It means: To Deliver (from the bondage of sin) To Protect (from the evil one) To Preserve (unto the Day of Salvation) To Heal (from pain and suffering) To make whole (spirit, soul and body) That's why Jesus came to this earth. 1 John 3:8 says: But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. And the ultimate purpose was to reconcile the world to himself: 2 Corinthians 5:19 says: God was in Christ. He was working through Christ to bring the whole world back to Himself. Firstly, God had to destroy the power of Satan. That was accomplished when Jesus died on the cross and was raised again from the dead. After having done that, he was able to give the Holy Spirit to those who believed in him. John 7:37-39 --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Jesus is the Pathway to God, so for us to get to the Father, the obstacle must be dealt with ‘in the Pathway.' Let me say it another way: Sin is an obstacle in the pathway to God; so for us to get to him, sin must be dealt with in the body of Jesus. 1 Peter 2:24 says: Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. When we examine the word ‘Confess or confession,' we find at least two applications. One as it relates to sin; and the other, as it relates to acknowledgement. For example, as it relates to Sin, 1 John 1:9 which says: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us. An example, as it relates to Acknowledgement, is seen in Matthew 10:32-33 which says: Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. So this brings up a very important point: That we must always interpret a verse of scripture, in its context, or we will miss its true meaning. Today, we'll take a look at confession from a sin perspective. What does confession do for us, when we sin? What happens to that sin; and how does God view us, in light of our confession? One of the most difficult things to do; is to confess that you are a sinner. Pride will not let you do it. I remember, many years ago, someone tried to witness to me. One of the things, they wanted me to do, was to confess, or admit that I was a sinner. I couldn't do it. Pride wouldn't let me. But after hearing the Word, and coming to grips with what Jesus suffered on the cross for my sins; it was easy to make that confession. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Jesus also said that he is the only Way to the Father. (John 14:6) One may say that Moses was also a Mediator. Well, that is quite true; but his mediation was to deliver the Ten Commandments to the people. He was more of a Deliverer than a Mediator. He delivered the Israelites from slavery under Pharaoh. Then he delivered The Ten Commandments; rules given by God for the people to live by. They never imagined that it was impossible for anyone born under the Fall of Adam to keep every Commandment; but I know a man who did keep them all. His name is Jesus. No one who is born in sin is able to keep God's righteous Laws. You must be Born Again; like Jesus said. Romans 3:10 and 23 says: There is none righteous; no, not one; for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 5:12 says: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 6:23 also confirms that the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

If Christ had not been raised from the dead, then what are we living for? We might as well; just be merry, live and have a good time until we die. There are many people who live with that mindset; and they do it because they are afraid of the judgment that will come upon them when they pass from this life to the next. I'm not just referring to the Sadducees during the time of Jesus, but modern day Sadducees. These are people who refuse to believe that there will be a resurrection of the dead; and that we shall all be judged for the things we have done while we were alive here on earth. I don't want you to become paranoid concerning the resurrection of the dead. I'm telling you this because you may have friends or family who fit that description; and you will be able to minister to them; and offer them a new perspective on what lies in the future. In today's episode, we will be talking about the sentence. In every trial, there is a verdict, and then comes the sentencing. This is when the Victim or Victims get the opportunity to hear what form of punishment the perpetrator would receive. Jesus was wrongfully charged with a crime, and was sentenced to death by way of crucifixion on a Roman cross. Who in the world would want to assume the guilty verdict of another, knowing that their life would be at stake? I know a man who would, and he did. His name is Jesus. And that's what 2 Corinthians 5:21 is all about. This transfer of Innocence and Guilt was prearranged before the foundation of the world. The man Christ Jesus was referred to as ‘The Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29) He was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8). His death would satisfy the wrath of God that was upon all mankind; due to the sin that was committed by one man; ADAM. When God made man (Genesis 1:26), and placed him in the Garden of Eden, he commanded him not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, of Good and Evil. If he did, he would surely die. Unfortunately, the man did eat from the Forbidden Tree; and as a result, the death process began. No one truly understood how detrimental Sin was and still is. Not even Adam! And there are many people today who still don't understand the Horror that sin causes in the lives of people. Today we are in the midst of a Pandemic caused by a Corona virus code named Covid-19 which has already taken the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. According to the World Health Organization, the death toll has passed one million and counting. The bible says that Faith comes by hearing; and hearing by The Word of God. So I encourage you to keep on listening and hearing that you may build up your Faith. Let's look at the situation in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve are going about their business as the Lord had instructed them. Then the devil appeared, pretending to be the carrier of good news: news that will bring knowledge, wisdom and prosperity. I'm sure you've heard that kind of preaching before. So he delivers the ‘So-called Good News' and sets a course of action that would put all future generations at odds with God. Even the earth would be in a state of groaning. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit, in disobedience to God's command, something happened in their DNA that would allow their sin of disobedience to be passed down to every person who would be born into the world. Let's go to the book of Romans Chapter 3:10-12 which says: “There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” Verse 23 says: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God: Here is the proof of that generational curse that started with Adam. So I began reading from verse 17, and discovered that Jesus was with his disciples; on his way to Jerusalem when he stopped along the way to forewarn them what was about to happen when they get to Jerusalem. This is what he said: 18 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, 19 and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.” Then out of the ‘blues' came the mother of James and John, the two sons of Zebedee; nicknamed by Jesus; ‘The sons of Thunder.' And she put forth a request to Jesus; that was so astounding; so much that the other 10 disciples became angry and offended. She actually knelt down before Jesus to make the request. That alone could tell you how important it was to her. Let me ask you this: If your father was about to die, what request would you ask of him? While you think about that; let me tell you what she said to Jesus. “Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.” Did she even care that Jesus was about to be crucified? Or did she get a revelation of his kingdom that the others couldn't see? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

There is something very significant about the Shepherd that Jesus would describe himself as one; and also about the sheep; that he would refer to Christians by that name. As part of the mix, I would like to introduce an enemy of the sheep………'The fly.' Where ever there is infestation, flies gather; and if the conditions are ideal, they multiply. This particular fly is an insect that lays its eggs in the nostrils of the sheep; and when the eggs hatch, the larvae work their way up the nostrils and eventually into the head of the sheep. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

The Amplified version says: For I desire and delight in [steadfast] loyalty [faithfulness in the covenant relationship], rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. After reading this verse, I couldn't help thinking about a husband and wife whom I knew. They were happy and enjoying life to the fullest; until the wife became caught up with social media, and the wrong crowds. That led to a breakdown in the relationship; and the intimacy that they once shared was fractured. The woman would still carryout her duties, as a wife but her heart was not in it. The man loved his wife; and rather than file for divorce, he would invite a marriage counsellor to the home; hoping that she would realize that her behaviour was detrimental to the marriage. I don't know what happened to that marriage because we lost touch with each other. Today's scripture tells a similar story. We see God as the husband; the people of Israel as his wife and the Prophet Hosea as the marriage counsellor. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

The message in this Episode is about Fighting. It's not about Street Fighting: It's not about the UFC or World Championship boxing. It is about Fighting the good fight of Faith. Our Scripture Passage comes from The Book of 1 Timothy Chapter 6 and verse 12 which says: Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. So the big question here is: What is the Good Fight of Faith? The fact that there is a good fight, we can assume that there is a bad fight. Fighting the good fight of Faith is a fight against sin, and all the distractions that world has to offer. Some of these distractions include: The love of money, sexual immorality, false doctrine, envy, strife, greed, quarrels; just to name a few. That's what this fight is all about. Satan wants to distract you from your allegiance to Christ and cause you to suffer shipwreck with regard to your faith. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. As we read this verse of scripture, we tend to wonder why Jesus would say: Go into your room, close the door and pray. In order to understand why he would make such a statement, we must read the verse in its context. So let's begin at the beginning. Matthew Chapter 6, starting at verse 1: This is what he said: “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. You believe the scriptures then you must believe what he said in Hebrews 13:5: I will never leave you nor forsake you. Even what Jesus said in Matthew 28: 20: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Today's Scripture will tell us a little more about God's intention toward those who love him. We will explain by way of scripture, what it means ‘To be still.' Reading from The Book of Psalms Chapter 46 and verse 10, it says: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10 is not just knowing that God is God Almighty, Creator of the heavens and the earth, and all that is in it; but more importantly, it is about having a personal relationship with him. During that time, before the advent of Christ, there was not a physical presence of God, so we can understand how important FAITH was; (and don't get me wrong; it still is) in the worship of God. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Today's Scripture comes from The Book of James Chapter 1 verses 2 and 3 which says: Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces patience. I want to add verses 4 and 12 to this mix, so that you can see the benefits when you use trials to your advantage. Verses 4 and 12 says: 4 Let patience or perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. 12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. I want you to notice that James did not say: ‘Consider it Joy; or be happy when you face trials.' As you well know, I make it a practice to read the previous verses that I may interpret the verse before me, in its context. So let us read from the Book of Colossians, Chapter 4, verse 2-6; and this is what the Apostle Paul said to the Brethren at Colossae: Be faithful to pray as intercessors who are fully alert and giving thanks to God. 3 And please pray for me, that God will open a door of opportunity for us to preach the revelation of the mystery of Christ, for whose sake I am imprisoned. 4 Pray that I would unfold and reveal fully this mystery, for that is my delightful assignment. 5 Walk in the wisdom of God as you live before the unbelievers, and make it your duty to make him known. 6 Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith. (The Passion Translation) It's quite clear that the Apostle Paul is speaking about Prayer and Evangelism. This is what we are called to do; but we must equip ourselves for the task ahead. In 2 Timothy 2:15,the Apostle Paul urged Timothy to study the scriptures. He said: Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Reading from verse 8, (1 Peter 3:8) this is what it says: It's a message to All Christians 8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. 9 Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. 10 For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. 11 Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. 12 The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.” Then comes Suffering for Doing Good 13 Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don't worry or be afraid of their threats. 15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. 16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. 17 Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong! (NLT) If someone were to ask you what the reason is for your Hope, what would you say? And don't be fooled, someday, someone will ask you that question; so you ought to think about it. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

We just want you to know that we appreciate all your comments. Thank you for the words of encouragement. May God's favour rest upon you, and may his light shine before you, and brighten your day. In Jesus' name! Amen. Today's Scripture is sometimes misinterpreted giving the idea that we, as Christians will not suffer tribulations or condemnation. So today, I'm going to spend a few moments to talk about Romans Chapter 8 and verse 1 which says: Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus: Whenever we see the word ‘therefore' we should always try to find out what the ‘there is for.' So let us turn to the previous Chapter and look for the answer. In Chapter 7, Paul talks about the sinful nature in him that causes him to do the things he does not want to do; in spite of the fact that he knows that they are wrong. There is this a battle going on. In verse 21 he says: So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. And he cries out for help. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? And he finds the answer. 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So let's go back to Romans 8:1, and we'll read it this way: Because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, for my sins; and the truth that he has been raised from the dead; I have been set free from the law of sin and death. This freedom only comes if you have accepted his sacrificial death for your sins; and received him as your Savior and Lord. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Welcome again to the Podcast. Our prayer is that God would shine his light upon you, and give you a revelation of who Jesus really is and what his resurrection means to your eternal destiny. There are three Gardens in this episode that I will be talking about. This event took place about two thousand years ago, but the root of it is found in Genesis Chapter 1-3. It all started when Adam and Eve, the first humans whom God created and he placed in the Garden of Eden with specific instructions concerning the TREE of Knowledge of Good and Evil. They were not to eat from it lest they die. And what do you know; they were tempted by the devil; and surely enough, they both ate from the tree. That act of disobedience brought sin upon everyone born into this world. Romans 5:12 says: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Over the course of time, man has sacrificed animals as a means of atoning for their sins; but that was just a covering. It was all because of love; God's love for the world. In John 12:32, after raising Lazarus from the dead, and knowing that the Jews were after him; to destroy him, Jesus made that statement again: He said: And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. In order for us to fully understand the significance of those statements, we need to go back into the genesis of time when God made Adam and Eve. Genesis 2:15-18 says: 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” I want you to notice that God gave the instructions to Adam because Eve never existed at the time. 18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” That's when the trouble began. 25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Today's program may seem different, but it's not. We are still searching the scriptures, and proclaiming the good news of salvation. Today's topic is about ‘Depression;' and the first scripture that comes to mind is Matthew 11:28: Jesus said: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Today many of us are carrying heavy burdens, and we don't know which way to turn. We have fallen from a place of joy into the mire clay of depression, and there seems to be no hope. But I'm here today to tell you that Hope is on its way. In fact, he has been here, waiting patiently just for you. His name is Jesus. He has sent his word to bring you peace and joy; and it will not return unto him void. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

We ask God's blessings upon you today, and trust that you will be edified by what we're about to share with you. It's all about Jesus, so you know it's going to be exciting. Today's Scripture Reading is from The Book of Philippians Chapter 2 verses 7-8 which says: Rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! The Amplified version unpacks the scripture further so that we get a better understanding of what the writer is saying. It is always good to look at other translations. The Amplified version says: He emptied Himself [without renouncing or diminishing His deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality and His rightful dignity] by assuming the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men [He became completely human but was without sin, being fully God and fully man]. 8 After He was found in [terms of His] outward appearance as a man [for a divinely-appointed time], He humbled Himself [still further] by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross. Humbled obedience in the midst of suffering: That defines the character of Jesus. And there is great reward for being humbly obedient in suffering. Some of you may remember how it was at the gym, when your coach put you through a routine that was sheer suffering and pain; but you stayed the course in spite of it. Today, you are thankful and you can see the benefits for being obedient. Well, so it was with Jesus. Philippians 2:9-11 says: For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth; 11 and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father. Obedience is very important to God; but humans have a tendency to be disobedient; even from the very get-go. Adam and Eve were the first humans on earth, and even though they knew that disobedience would result in death, they still disobeyed God's command. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lennox-blaides/message

Our prayer is that you would continue to trust in the Lord and be confident, as it says in Philippians 1:6 that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Today's scripture talks about the blessed person, and this is what we pray for concerning you. But even though we may pray for you, the blessings will not come, unless you put your trust in the Lord, and have confidence in him. Jesus said: If you love me, keep my commandments, and I will pray the Father that he would send you another Comforter. You have to trust Jesus at his word. You must believe in order to receive; if you doubt, you'll stay without. 1 John 5:14-15 (New Living Translation) says: And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. If you want to be blessed, you must look to God. James 1:17 says Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. But there is more to the blessings than just asking; and this is crucial. Listen to what God says, in 2 Chronicles 7:14-15: Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. We pray this in Jesus' name; Amen The act of submission is not always viewed in a positive light. For instance, in the sport of wrestling, it represents defeat. In the case of marriage, it takes absolute trust for the wife to submit to her husband, even though the bible demands it. Ephesians 5:22-24 says: Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Because of rising infidelity, on the part of husbands, wives are very skeptical in adhering to this rule. As Christians, we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, so we can do as it says in Hebrews 4:16: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. There are many reasons why we must always pray; but the one that tops the list is the one given for our protection against temptation. If Adam and Eve had prayed in the Garden of Eden they might not have entered into temptation; but no one taught them to pray.
