We talk a lot about agility, and today, we're going to talk about how lessons of agility can come from unexpected places - like the set of Seinfeld - where - for those superfans like me - our guest played Alec Berg - which should be said in more of a Jon Houseman manner, and while guest starring there (plus other shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Tracey Takes On..., and more) took some lessons from the value of collaboration and how great ideas can come from anyone, anywhere. Joining me today is Mark DeCarlo, an Emmy Award-winning comedian, TV host, and speaker who brings a fresh and entertaining perspective on navigating change, AI, and work-life balance. Mark has developed five simple strategies to help people embrace chaos, overcome fear of AI, and actually be happier while working smarter. ABOUT MARK DECARLO Improv actor/host, screenwriter and best-selling author Mark DeCarlo, lives a dual life: as an Emmy Award-winning TV host…and a cartoon.   As host/ringleader on 1000+ episodes of hit TV; Studs, X Show, Taste of America, and current series; World's Funniest Videos Top 10 and ABC's Windy City LIVE, Mark's improvisational skills - honed as a Founding member of The Second City Hollywood - have earned him three Emmy Awards for On Camera Host. From pissing-off pal Steve Carell, to convincing a random tourist to pose as a fashion designer during a live remote, Mark's interviews of the famous/infamous celebrate the odd and eccentric. His characters on “Curb your Enthusiasm,” “Tracey Takes On…,” “Seinfeld” and 2020's “Ballbuster,” zig where most zag. That's Mark, the human. Mark, the cartoon, came within a Shrek of winning an Oscar starring as Hugh Neutron in Best Animated Picture nominee “Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius,” and has built a career playing energetic, off-beat and edgy cartoons characters on many series, including; Family Guy, Barnyard, Planet Sheen, Johnny Bravo and Handy Manny. He stars in Steve Oedekirk's series of Thumb comedies from Thumbtanic to BatThumb, and will reprise his iconic role of Black Helmet Man in the upcoming 2022 release of ThumbWars IX. That's the premise of Ruth Spiro's latest book 'How to Explain Climate Science to a Grown-Up" and her entire 'how to explain' series! Ruth stops by the show this week to discuss her latest books and how we can empower kids and use their love of knowledge to help explain things to us, grown-ups, which we typically might not be able to wrap our mind around. It's a great conversation and I can't wait for you to hear it, enjoy! About Ruth Spiro Ruth Spiro is the author of more than 30 children's books, with over one million copies in print worldwide. Her bestselling Baby Loves Science board books are the groundbreaking originals that introduce big ideas to the littlest listeners in an age-appropriate and engaging style. The series has been praised by the Los Angeles Times, NPR, TODAY, Popular Science, Working Mother, and more. Fans who have publicly shared their love of her books include former U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords, Chelsea Clinton, and Chance the Rapper. In addition, Ruth is the author of picture books including Made by Maxine, Maxine and the Greatest Garden Ever, Love Grows, and One Small Spark: A Tikkun Olam Story, which received starred reviews from Publisher's Weekly and Kirkus. Sometimes grown-ups need YOU to explain things to THEM. Like climate science! In this tongue-in-cheek guide, an in-the-know narrator instructs kid readers in the fine art of explaining climate science to a grown-up. On this episode of the Plan Simple Podcast, I'm really excited to talk with Kristyn Ivey, a professional organizer and certified KonMari consultant about organizing and decluttering.Decluttering and organizing is about examining the things we surround ourselves with. While a lot of us want a decluttered and organized house, getting there feels daunting and like a huge chore. We talk about remembering the benefits of a decluttered space, and Kristyn points out that the KonMari method gives permission to keep what you want (and let go of the things you don't—but the focus is what you want to keep). The process starts with examining your ideal lifestyle and living environment, with questions like: What is your why? What do you love? How do you want your home to feel? How do you want it to look? What would your life be like if it were clutter-free?We talk about: Planning your tidying event, keeping in mind three things: the size of your home, the level of clutter, the pace of your decision makingWorking with other people's priorities and conversations about decisions Digging in and making decisions instead of doing a little tidying here and thereDo the whole process for yourself and focus on your own stuff before you even think about kid's or partner's stuffHow the process changes your consumption patterns Adjusting the KonMari method order (clothes, books, papers, miscellaneous, sentimental items) to fit your current needs—start with what is causing you stressAbout Kristyn Ivey Kristyn Ivey is a professional organizer who is dedicated to teaching busy families, professionals, and creative entrepreneurs how to let go of “stuff” and attract a truly abundant life. What To Do and Not To Do After Divorce with Andrea Rappaport

Comedian Andrea Rappaport knows what it's like going through life's biggest jokes — a love story turned toxic relationship and signing divorce plans that went wrong.  In this episode, the How Not to Suck at Divorce podcast host shares her journey going through the process with her two young boys making many painful mistakes and shedding light on how you can avoid them. ▶️ What To Do And Not To Do After Divorce with Andrea Rappaport ✔️ One of the biggest mistakes people make post-divorce is to stop going to therapy because they think it's over.  Andrea pleads those going through a rough patch never stop getting professional support pre and post-divorce. "One of the biggest things I recommend is keeping your butt in a therapist's chair. Keep talking. I have a personal therapist. I have a therapist who helps me with my children, who helps me navigate my kids' needs based on what they went through and all that stuff. And I have a therapist for my current relationship because I want to make sure that I'm not repeating behavior and traits that I picked up in past relationships." ✔️ A parenting agreement is a tough document to change.  Never miss out on having a professional help you through that step. Andrea says, "It's easy to make mistakes, especially if you are in a high-conflict divorce or where there's abuse of different types going on. There's a myriad of reasons why these mistakes get made in a parenting agreement. What are your child's needs at that point, and what is the best scenario for your kid? It is not an agreement for the parents. It's an agreement for the child, and I can't stress that enough." ✔️ Taking advice from friends and family can keep us stuck.  They try to take you out of your emotion because they're uncomfortable being in it with you. If you choose to do things independently, you will waste more time, even if you feel you are strong enough. Experts come in to guide you through the process and provide actionable steps that will get you back on your feet faster. ✔️ We will do things in our divorce that will hurt the kids and ourselves. Yet, we must do it to make peace and end the chronic conflict. We teach our kids to make similar choices by not settling for less and support them well to become more empathetic and resilient adults. --------------- Andrea Rappaport is a humorist and image consultant. Funny people are usually a result of something very unfunny, and Andrea is no exception. Known for her candor on her Instagram platform @theandrearappaport, Andrea shares the journey of her traumatic divorce and single mommy life with two young boys. She mixes plenty of humor, because laughter is her favorite form of cardio. Professionally, Andrea provides goal-based consulting to individuals and businesses. She blends her 20+ years in the beauty and fashion industry with her expert communication skills from her 20+ years of acting training and 40+ years of therapy. Andrea's clients learn to speak effectively to their audience while showing themselves in the most authentic way. Her clients range from small businesses looking to rebrand to post-divorce individuals looking to get back on the dating scene. A graduate of Chicago's Second City Conservatory, Andrea's wit has been featured on TODAY Parents, The Jam, The Tamron Hall Show, Windy City LIVE, and Great Day SA. In addition to comedy, Mona is a sought-after speaker for her experience using stand-up comedy to bring joy and affinity to various socio-political topics in the United States, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Mona has a Master's in International Development and is fluent in English, German and Arabic and performs in these languages. Currently, Mona is back home in Chicago after having completed a powerful Pre-COVID touring schedule throughout US, and recently WON the “Kennan Thompson Road to NYC” comedy competition in Las Vegas this year; having just completed her Summer tour throughout the West Bank, Europe and the United Kingdom. As an international producer, host and headliner Mona in less than one week performed and produced 9 shows spanning Palestine, Switzerland, and the heart of London's thriving comedy scene. She was the first female to headline this revolutionary series produced by Viacom. State side, Mona has been a regular throughout the Midwest, Northeast, South and West Coasts of US. While touring Mona always checks in with Chicago based media as a consistent featured guest on “Pretty Late with Patti Vasquez” Chicago's #1 late-night radio show WGN 720 Radio as well as a regular feature on Chicago's #1 daytime talk show, Windy City Live! Globally, Mona launched “Class Clowns” a stand-up comedy, improv, spoken word & writing workshop for kids and adults of all ages in all environments using the comedy club as a microcosm for leadership, self-expression, face-to-face empowerment and healing. The workshop is currently running in the Chicago & Cape Town, South Africa. She is currently working with the University of Chicago to teach medical students comedy skills to relate better to their patients and overcome racism and income disparities. Share with the audience a little bit about who you are, and why you're on the journey that you're in right now. The truth is this. I'm your classic bullied kid that turned out when she went back to her high school reunion that I was actually the bully. So I'm the reformed bully, whereby I really got to see that creating laughter as the school bully or the class clown that I was because I had a lot of stuff going on at home that I was bringing to the table. There was a lot of stuff going on personally, where making other people laugh, made me feel really, really good. That line of comedy and tragedy, I walked my whole life. I was a really, really big kid. And in order to get anybody to give me attention, I had to be the funny kid. And typically the funny kid can actually be the bully. So that's really my talk. My conversation and my journey was the emancipation of your high school class clown. It's a shift in perspective. Where, really, laughter is the best medicine. And you teach this laughter all over the world. I know you've been on some big stages, not only here in the United States, but internationally, so talk about that. I am my own worst bully. Because imagine, if you're the bully in school, who do you think else you're bullying? You're pulling yourself all day. Us comedians bully ourselves. It's like this rat race. So as my career was getting better and better, it took me a long time to look back and say, hey, Mona, you've done Carnegie Hall in less than a decade, kid. How about you tone down all your self hate? How many of us are super successful and still like I can't believe it. Where did you grew up Mona? I grew up in Chicago. I grew up by Wrigley. I have a Palestinian father who's immigrant came in 71. I have an American British mother and my grandmother immigrated after World War II from the United Kingdom. That was back when Arabs were like the hippies. My pops was in the 70s with this big Afro. And my mom's like he's super cute. So like me understanding my own identity where my Grandmother has a British accent. And my other grandmother is Palestinian like literally from the motherland. And I'm their translator because they don't speak the same language. How did you get into comedy? It was one Christmas Day. I had come back from Namibia finishing my thesis in late 20s. And my family said you need to be a comedian. My family said, listen, you're working so hard to entertain us. You need to be a comedian. I said, I just got my masters. The way they came at me was as if it was like a confessional. But that was the best journey of my life because I really did a deep dive into intellect because my first reaction was like, I'm not going to be comedian. They're dumb. Turns out, it's the exact opposite. Your comedian is your modern day philosopher, court jester, celebrity, teacher, reporter. So you have to know a lot about a lot of things. I know you have a really strong belief about comedy in our culture today. And more importantly, comedy as it really relates to our health. Can you tell us more? Tip #1 - The three tips that I would give anybody, right now, if they're listening to it, the most important rule in comedy is “yes and.” So whatever you're dealing with, lean into it. If you just got into a car accident, “yes and.” How was this car accident here to serve me? Right? So whatever's going on in your world, if you allow that the world isn't happening to you, it's happening for you. And you just have to add, these are principles of comedy. And these are principles of self-development. Tip #2 - The second would be a perspective exercise. Which is everything makes sense from the other person's perspective. What is that perspective? And how is noticing that gap in difference important? For example, when I walk into a comedy club, I walk in early and I evaluate my environment. Where's the waitress staff, what's going on with that? Has the lighting been set up in my environment? What is my environment? Understanding how they interpret me. As an American comedian, who has an English accent and my type of accent? What data are they assuming is true? Based on me walking on stage? Tip #3 - And third, is going to sound totally counter to number one, but third is the power of no. Being able to be like no, these are my boundaries. Then you can have you have control of the mic, you have control of your voice. And that's why when I teach these comedy classes for kids because if you can navigate society by being able to say Yes, and make fun of yourself, understand how they're seeing you, and how you're seeing yourself and able to say, No, no one's ever gonna mess with your mind. I work on a lot of spiritual, acupuncture meditative and the comedy classes that I teach like this perspective, exercise is taught at the University of Chicago level. This is a project that I'm currently in three year project where we're teaching physicians, the art of standup comedy, as a modality to navigate society, racism, income disparities, because when a white doctor walks in looking just like you, Christie with a lab coat, and there is an African American man, that's 80 years old, he is existing in a conversation that's tied to civil rights. So he might feel some type of way when you walk in, or you might be like, this is a black man, I don't want to I don't really don't want to insult him in any way, understanding some of the principles of comedy allows that to navigate much more holistically. And that's the project we're working on. Mona's Free Gift: I'd like to offer a 90-minute workshop which I'll have the information on when that live class is going to be. It's a 90-minute class clowns workshop. It's the same workshop, whether it's kids in high school for veterans, those old timers or in corporate America, where I've been doing a dual development model for corporate training, team building. A lot of these same principles go into all that training modality. So offering a 90-minute course. I might have comedian friends coming in and out of the background, in and out from different countries. You never know. We've offered that and then it will be also recorded and available for consumption. So we'll have that recording available. Free Gift Link How to connect with Mona: Website: https://monacomedy.com/ “Your comedian is your modern-day philosopher, court jester, celebrity, teacher, reporter. You have to know a lot about a lot of things.” – Mona Aburmishan

"When you shift your focus to what you want to keep, it's a much more interesting exercise and not as stressful."  –Kristyn Ivey   On this episode of the Plan Simple Meals Podcast, I’m really excited to talk with Kristyn Ivey, a professional organizer and certified KonMari consultant about organizing and decluttering.   Decluttering and organizing is about examining the things we surround ourselves with. While a lot of us want a decluttered and organized house, getting there feels daunting and like a huge chore. We talk about remembering the benefits of a decluttered space, and Kristyn points out that the KonMari method gives permission to keep what you want (and let go of the things you don’t—but the focus is what you want to keep).    The process starts with examining your ideal lifestyle and living environment, with questions like: What is your why? What do you love? How do you want your home to feel? How do you want it to look? What would your life be like if it were clutter-free?   We talk about:  Planning your tidying event, keeping in mind three things: the size of your home, the level of clutter, the pace of your decision making Working with other people’s priorities and conversations about decisions  Digging in and making decisions instead of doing a little tidying here and there Do the whole process for yourself and focus on your own stuff before you even think about kid’s or partner’s stuff How the process changes your consumption patterns  Adjusting the KonMari method order (clothes, books, papers, miscellaneous, sentimental items) to fit your current needs—start with what is causing you stress   BIO   Kristyn Ivey, is a professional organizer who is dedicated to teaching busy families, professionals, and creative entrepreneurs how to let go of “stuff” and attract a truly abundant life. She’s the founder of For the Love of Tidy. With over 1000 hours of tidying experience, she’s been featured in Good Morning America, Bloomberg, HuffPost, Vox, and the Chicago Sun Times, with live appearances on ABC7, FOX32, Windy City Live, and more. She also co-hosts the weekly podcast Spark Joy celebrating the transformative power that comes from surrounding yourself with joy. She is also the author of the #1 Amazon Best Seller The Tidy Home Joy Journal and regularly chats about clutter with packed audiences, eager to shift their understanding of what it means to be organized in their home and life.  LINKS https://fortheloveoftidy.com/ Spark Joy podcastThe Tidy Home Joy JournalMore on the KonMarie Method from the Plan Simple Podcast Doable Changes from this episode: THINK ABOUT YOUR WHY. Before you start going through your stuff, set aside time to think about why you are doing this. Get clear on your ideal lifestyle and living environment. Ask yourself: What do I love? How do I want my home to feel? How do I want it to look? What would my life be like if it were clutter-free? SCHEDULE YOUR TIDYING EVENT. Commit to digging deep and doing the work in large chunks. Think about 3–5 hour tidying moments. Put 6 of these on your calendar. Plan for what you will tackle during each. (KonMari method usually moves through categories in order—clothes, books, papers, miscellaneous, and sentimental).  WORK WITH WHAT YOU CAN HANDLE. If you’ve read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, you know that it suggests pulling everything that is in a category out at the same time, (so for example, pulling out all of your clothes from every closet and bin and drawer. Kristyn recommends working with what you can handle and saving your energy for decision making. So doing all the books on one level of your house, rather than moving them all into one central space. Be realistic about what you can go through in a given tidying “moment.” Get Access to the Art of 90 Days »   This episode is an excerpt from the Art of 90 days, where 25+ experts in wellness, mindfulness, relationships, parenting, decluttering, and entrepreneurship share how to reach specific goals in 90 days. Since his first TV appearance, Chris has performed on shows like The Steve Harvey Show, Windy City Live, Good Day Chicago, Penn and Teller, Scam School, and the Adam Carolla Show.Transcription for seo purposes only. One word Chris Jones podcast talking with Chris this month about how how is it bringing a child in to the world. Now when we're dealing with everything that were dealing with with you know that the riots around the country and around the world the pandemic that we've all been basically quarantined from everybody else. Is it scary to be a new dad or a dad to be in this time. I'm so excited. So excited. I have a little bit of perspective because I got into his three books and over so you know you if you have been an argument in 1920 and I just want to read the case, you can look back and take a minute there will be done in the past to get the interesting thing is that my twins were born in 2001. In November 2001 after the attack on the on our country and on the 9/11 attack is and at that time I was scared to death like what are we doing bringing children into this world at this time but you know they've done really well and then they graduate this year when everything's kinda shut down so I mean they had a couple of trying times. I think that'll push them to be that much better in the future, and my hope is that's the case for baby Jones as well. Very good perspectives that motivate 18 years old. Yeah. Like the young kids like your kids age can't fight a war that noted they are going to happen if there were any evildoers and therapist to be a fast war were just getting it the dominant he's been dead for a while now, when you see the world doing now that you know you had the riots happening around the country and you know I heard this morning on the radio that there happening around the world that there's some writing happening around the world for George Floyd. Do you think that this will end up being something or changing for something like that when Rodney King when that happened. I thought that that was going to change the world and I don't think it did gas and try to change the world as I try to make the world stop spending anything like this change of enactment of Jackson, but we've been with the world. We spend together. You know that the long way. I still have hope because I'm not going to be salt." I was reading very light misinformation going around saying that George Floyd didn't die that the priest and actor and stirring up some conversations that should not be a conversation at all. So who comes up with this conspiracy BS that's what I want to know this thing is true for Sandy Hook people so there's to get your gun Nazis had PR people ban public relations that even the client had public relations people they work on their image, and someone said no when and if he created this happened, yes, let's push that story and the accident happened. That's why I love journalism even more now. One of the first things he suddenly started talking today is that you are reading in the history books and that this kind of stuff is happened forever, and I believe that what you just I believe that I think that nowadays we're more aware of it hyper. Where is it now because of the fact that we have everything at the palm of her hands who can speak and get information immediately if not sooner. Assess happening and things in the past weren't always that way because I mean in a think about when when our parents were children that they went to the movie theater and theirs in Israel at the beginning of the about of a show. Oh yeah, that was under comedy side think that the bank robbers back in the day. Yeah, they rob a bank. Maybe have gone and shoot their initials into the side of the wall. I get it with copper and the boy. No police and then you know that when I was because I'm 20 years older than you. When I was a kid we'd find about it on you know in the newspaper because it came in. No sooner when you were a kid. It was things are on television immediately when it happened because they had to come up with, you know, ways to do that and then you know when my kids is Internet and by the time your child is older, who it might just be like thought processed into their heads. I know that so that's a weird way of thinking about things, but immediately look at how how things have changed and how we get our news now compared to the way that we got it in the past and it's just really right. I get that physical paper to my house delivery, five days a week. So many things you have so much technology like the CCX to watch the weather channel and she's like, how come we can't stop hurting we can on their we can't stop 20th is running the family's home. The more things change, Chris the morning to say the same minute identity feel their status in other states. I think the date that I got the answers and then something happens that I have no idea what the hell's going on anywhere you have control of my own life. What about something else you know is right. It's crazy. So let me you know I hate to but I hate to bring race into our conversation, we doing so being a black man now with what's going what's going on you know with with the everything in the in the world right now. I mean, is it different than it was two weeks ago, all without a doubt to his guy went running and running and now I go running and I don't want to wait a police car, but I feel obligated to live in a neighborhood that has a lot of police officer next to me. I don't want to leave. It's not right away when walking the dog. Like to go running my running too fast, and still something. How do I look like I'm clearly a runner and not losing someone's home to me that is me being sensitive remember an Georgia man was shot by civilian for running or jogging and in that man was are you are you more aware of it because it because you're black I'm aware of that I did not say that I would be oh you mean when you came to Chicago in your talk about when he got pulled over and that there are some black people and excellent. He told the story we were laughing at what she said a little bit of you being naïve in your my wonderful friend said I was very quiet and I have the little things are opposite and we were like yeah like that's where it starts to get pulled over like we asked permission on the department let them know my wallet in my pocket. Can I get it, like we get super scared we get pulled over when I was told the story and then you do, you mentioned that to me I was you know at the time is 2019 or 2018 and whenever was no surprise that happens, you know, in those days, and now all this is 2020 and the PS it happened in Minneapolis is unacceptable. I mean it's it it's hard to believe that that kind of crap happens in 2020 and then I'm embarrassed to say I don't member the name of the way I think it was Breanna. She was in bed with her boyfriend or husband and police Louisville first in the home without a warrant would identify and complete the her boyfriend was in the house was a burglar hired a couple shot fire multiple shots and they killed her and she was the first to find out if we can't find her and she is gone now but it wasn't on camera and the man who shot the burglar was brought up on trials tempted and drop now but Stacy she argued. Why is it that when a black man shot killed by police was unarmed. Get national attention and was a black woman don't hear about it. That's it. That's a legitimate question Chris. I don't know if you think I don't. Do you think a lot of what we have or having now is caused by media. I wouldn't say that I wouldn't say that that's wrong. If we unpacked some ugly stuff he always gives more prestige and power to men. And so when something is fighting against the powers that be. A man is usually attacked track down what happened to unpacked it further and be very ugly if a black man, was accused of raping a white woman went to kill him. I would show up in 2020 oh nine in the okay okay okay you get accused of like Emmett till was a Chicago kitty went out and allegedly whistled at a white woman and a light knock showed up or he was staying his cousin, and held them for a few days… I just tortured and then the men were later acquitted, and then wrote a book saying and I was one of the great awareness about all this to say we don't protect women fighting to get married and got to that happens to woman when I will be doing in their claim that the boat when it's on camera. I would like okay now I see what I believe are all the facts and opinions and then people hate it is semi final thoughts they Chris last night I couldn't sleep too well that I kept thinking about all lives matter. One of the suburbs of Chicago. There was a black watch another project in all lives just across the street and if you're going to say all live in that I'm saying you would like an angry person you are going that I don't love arguing all lives matter, my life matter as a white person on each putting down my value as a white person I would say you don't believe all lives matter because it is separate from the parent right now and intentions you don't believe in ice member life matters. You don't believe that some across the border illegally matters you don't believe that kids have the right to grow up and not get shot in our own American schools are. You don't believe all my it's a fine argument to last about two seconds really truly heart wanted to be an advocate for all lives matter worth you wouldn't be angry in the way that you are.

Chris, the only thing running in and yeah and that you know that the people out there delivering Amazon to psych, Amazon, post office, UPS, FedEx, all those guys are out there men and women are out there delivering packages to everybody and that is people like us that are staying at home and leaving our packages at home. You don't like them they are great for that, and I loved it all. And I will become the perfect payoff. It was something as it was a pleasant home is worth the wait. Or not. Lately you instead of being in front of an audience you doing a different type of audience to see you on Facebook live all the time now showing off how to do some different things and on the other day as a plan you in your beautiful bride mother to be our planes and foosball and it looks like you cheated for the first couple, but I'm sure that you probably end up winning that game I did when when there's a camera on her discrete I don't know well you know what I totally think her to also today there are two against one right. I used to be in front of people like to. That's the whole thing yeah it was my right, you don't need makeup and I'm arty like. I learned how to do magic trick. Watching you watching your IDE or Facebook videos I taught how to turn a small coin into two large going to need to change it. So you're going to bronze coins. Whatever you want from the magic that you know I mean, that's so cool in those traits. They say that I hundred one? Which is true but you buying for only two tricks you though. I read the book. Have you so have you ever done magic in front of people I know that you know that you do as I kiss your you know, me just a magician as if you well, but you're basically listed as a comic right yeah last night and magic was a fundraiser for young boys and family counseling and his parents created a foundation anti-bullying and they give money to first responders. The two things he cared about was being nice people, not bullying, and the character by what we should and women purchased on the greater foundation I went to Burlington, Wisconsin, and that little coffeehouse did poetry and they played in the band and I did magic and I get a card trick and I had a few drinks and beautiful, like the fact that he got a drink, absolutely. Well, you would know that because you're a college graduate from from Utah Valley University Wisconsin crossed and I don't know if I have a lot of people know this about you or not but you were a new model when you're here, but you also gave a scholarship seedless scholarship at UW well because you graduated from here. I had a really great teacher, Dr. Ronald he called me about the blue I never met before, my guess reach out to the school and he says were trying to get new faces in the ring at your 78. Waiver. If we can, so I'm trying for anyone coming from out of state to get that thing discount price that's my hope that you pretty cool to come back to the cross. I think timber said a lot world is open again on the back of the car that you make sure that I'm available for those for that time because I know the last time you're in town. I think we got we got together we did a podcast from him Riverside Park and submit. Remember, people were eating lunch, and a minute staring at them they just walked away or like five and you videotape the two did you ever do anything of it at all I have. I thought yesterday that the people thing, according to just go draw your old furniture. Like all that I went to Japan and never edited into the video like literally like I need to get on that. Speaking of Japan, and the owners of rain sucks her friend Shane is in Japan now and is in there for a couple years but I saw that he liked the post that you posted about you being a dad in your holding a doll baby doll baby girl doll upside down by the foot. Great that you do it that way, did you how did you do that you just come out of a hat. So did you do that, just for a fact not know but when I went to the girl we just want to help each other so I can write but it was a black light hanging by one leg but my friend you like. I got the girl yeah yeah either way that can be applied. Is it scary to have a daughter. You have got I think I'm going to do my best to say look like she's gorgeous how did I get hurt line my ass off. I yeah look out the guys are just charmers like how you dad Marriott because he was nice was polite and patient. I know you your very book smart you what you do a lot of reading and stuff. Since his first TV appearance, Chris has performed on shows like The Steve Harvey Show, Windy City Live, Good Day Chicago, Penn and Teller, Scam School, and the Adam Carolla Show.Transcription for seo purposes onlyOne word Chris Jones podcast this month talking about what's on everybody's mind these days. Of course, talking Cove at 19th and Chris actually has a special guest with him though much better half of the of the equation there. Stacy is joining him for the first time Stacy, welcome to the podcast so things nowadays you guys basically have a whole life that's change you guys just got married, you're pregnant with their first child. You guys bought a house now were dealing with the pandemic and we all have to kind of shelter in place. How he has been dealing with that I think were doing pretty good I'm doing great. I really really enjoyed being your state how all department where there is so big and kind that will tell you what the few times that Chris is one I see the post on Facebook that he won so that's what friends are for. You have the option of talking your cell phone ringing with the TV or typing it in and I can't tell for ship and I can't talk so I'm like no I like I like the thousand points on the final Jeopardy in my five round my colleague like I can you please hey you probably way more colleges than anybody I know right like college that I got for the figure you think Dick Baker know nothing. So how is the one that you want the chess games. Oh, I can beat my wife and shut public connect for little that were killed or pre-Mac that you go talk our Stacy got a passenger married to a hypnotist as he ever uses hypnotic presence in order to win games that think about. She talked about everything. All that is what you what you call a Chris no birthing you don't get yeah childbirth there you go you can you can learn that and that could be a whole mother side gig for you. Yeah you could see that you would be created yeah I want to be like oh we are feeling pain. You don't feel pain like. So how are you guys doing with the Cove at 19 and I'll be the quarantine and all that cool though I've been working and where to figure out ways to family and not only so a lot of meeting place for learning and they said and trying to be created a new date that and then I will be our main using our work walking and I was when I left the room. The more than seven people on my show book called like some schools are saying you can't performance so July and even then it should be online. Really well so I thought about doing like tell it like tele-type shows I have. I think a lot of performers really like their audiences and you feed off their laughing. Your timing comes in there laughing like Stephen Colbert and all he lately chose to do and she chose without audience and it is it doesn't hit the no really doesn't and especially like with yours and when you call people from the audience to come on up and do and to do things so would probably be a lot different than in a situation like that. So you think that were doing the right thing with the we know quarantine and the shutdown of basically the country code. Stacy and people will know that talking about that kind of thing that people who do think they are so think I think that's how it is well not anymore. What I know one thing that you know so that is very easily. I think that's the question people ask me if it's good or bad, and I wanted to compare it to other like people in Italy are going around and gone the people were outdoor China was monitoring people from their car and they were experiencing separate them immediately. I think you have to find the middle Like you should to some degree Of people who are going out but you shouldn't lock people up with their family because they have house America doing it. I am course, we could do better. All excellent faces that yeah but it other countries and look at the science that says people are getting sick as a hoax and you think you're going to survive this country or as a world with this policy to go next. But you know you can't stop human spirit working get better over. Cannot want to get back to state of normalcy. Yeah, I think I think I think that if we don't have a long talk about. I think that's really key part like the amazing work that are doing that if the we don't slow it down, but a lot of black and I think the fourth likely examined how they do things in a lot of ways examine our policies not possible like just caring for healing in this country and nothing more. Like all the way to go about it because they sound exactly like the sun and people need more than what the government is hopeful that we can come out of having a more solid and yeah a lot of these ideas like everyone hundred dollars check. The socialist idea is a good idea if you were out of work. Give them money to put into the economy like that US dollars here. You know Stacy is your right Chris, but Stacy, the nail on the head with the slowdown in reflection I think that that's what a lot of us need to do in order to to survive and to be it out to be right of mind. You know, and so I want to be healthy, go to the hospital and not be found by people coronavirus give birth and be healthy the kid to be healthy so that one find reason to for someone else will be okay about. Right now without a fight. Without any support. I can't even what that would be like in reality think any words or parting words of the of encouragement and hope for people out there that everything think the thing itself getting into a very hopeless negative outlook of being overwhelmed by things everything to think about the potential you can take advantage of that and get your stuff and enable anything that is your not writing a disease or your family and also indecisive because it can be really overwhelming for find that that one and I think it really really condemning you. Can you talk like a new Chris I wanted to say ditto but with I concur you don't have a dog think about getting a dog that yeah I think that a lot of people who make you love me right now and go shopping online right now and I take it dog or cat out of the foster stable life from being euthanized and the home with your finger help

Since his first TV appearance, Chris has performed on shows like The Steve Harvey Show, Windy City Live, Good Day Chicago, Penn and Teller, Scam School, and the Adam Carolla Show. This episode we start to talk about Chris Jones buying a house and fatherhood. Listen to where the conversation takes you.transcription for seo onlyhows homeownership. The house that's pretty cool little life is pregnant and so I've been moving things because she is working and growing up show you the work and enduring morning sickness I'm packing. How far is the house from where you live is currently 20 minutes okay 25 is that traffic right was not horrible and it is only like 4 miles from the airport. Those that make my commute a lot easier. So tell me about the pregnancy, you know, I'm just trying to be thoughtful because Stacy can't drink I'm not drinking, and the you know like wow I really could have like a nice drink right now and not stressed so much or be in my head, but you don't try to be empathetic, so she can't drink. I'm not drinking the babies up the last time we spoke you pretty excited about the about about a couple things we talked about both of them actually talked about that you know the homeownership and about the about you being a father is kind of weird that only first met. I don't think you'd want to be a dad always met me. I deftly didn't want that responsibility. I would like is all about me I am the focus of the and out like I want attention or when the I rather give someone else realize universe is much, much bigger than I which is an insane concept like I'm one person that there's 7 billion people on the planet like to be self-centered at 30 40 you mean you've grown to come along way you know think about it that way. Thanks. Hello. I blame Stacy for my growth yeah yeah something to blame… That's pretty awesome to think about it. If you think about it like is good. I went to one of those job fairs for myself and I showcase for 30 minutes and usually I could do is show and 30 minute like that's plenty of time, but I didn't but I didn't rock my agent because he likely had anything so graciously heavy on stage like it's on audience like to try to stand up and it's funny you give me an ulcer you know is what you get to the part reinvent. I do your skip and I get to the point of the like, yeah, I do my best and his name is Chris as well and I got up there and I on that. I talked for like eight minutes on my 30 nights in three minutes at a time. People now I got to do one or two skits that I got Chris. I got up I wasn't thrilled with my performance. I got off stage and I was like I Stacy was there. My buddy Adam was there. My videographer was there like guys I'm going to go take a nap because I didn't Bob it wasn't a flop but I give that performance to C+ and it was in front of no 1500 people, but in the real other shady thing is there are other hypnotists performed after me the least to others, and they probably did better than I did and it's just what it is like I'm the guy who who had a target on his back. I went the first day like opening this job fair this conference. I didn't compete like I wanted to, but the house alike in a big way so I can't complain what the teacher I had all these ideas I wanted to share with the audience and Stacy like you know what your goal what your purpose and she sleeps in his ability to do this you like just you have a lot of messages just focus on one of them. I like know about inequality in our talk about this idea as a lady standing up if you Restrain your hand your keychain. Show me your preference. Regular size guys. They're afraid of us. We need to be better is the thing I want to talk was that yeah I hear you Stacy like you could just do that at the school. You don't need to go on your platform you know every chance you can you wait to your on-campus yeah but one might ask people from all 50 states in a room at one is like the size of the listeners is a focus on entertainment so I got to the school like a guy I get upset because women have to walk around in the dark with your keeping your fingers and rape whistle and pepper spray and we drunk guys and distributors we want and stucco his own apartment like you understand. I like how privileged we are. So what did I learn you now as you hurry you can drill five whole 5 feet deep, boating, drill one whole 25 feet but you can't do both. Like make your message firm or make five messages whatever dream is and not structurally sound. The binder that make sense yeah actually it does you got that you can 3:30 or four or you can do, wanted to know, yeah, the last thing that all I'll let you go. I think part of that is because I needed someone to talk to. I admitted their personal a while. I haven't had sharing time I got out of the time but just losing my headphones is not enough. I didn't do any writing talk venting all of this is just me moving +567 days by myself with the dog, and the like Tom Hanks and castaway we can just talk to your dog than that of an object being you have my number brother you can always call me I do and that you talk me on a great day like you talking on visiting my mom. My grandma Terry and I'm not a cemetery guy all hang there for all of 60 seconds and I'm like well the bugs I'm leaving cemetery are not my cup of tea

“Pony Up Daddy” is the new Dad saddle that allows your child to humiliate you in comfort. Did we need this invention? In “Health Beat”, Todd halves his Jube Gel intake and goes into weight loss freefall. But where to stop? Speaking of which, Todd bought some dubiously named workout drinks that he probably doesn't need, but it does taste like watermelon Slurpee. And in “Scarred for Life”, Matt brings Viva to perform at Windy City LIVE! and has to balance between ruining showbiz for her forever and ruining her for real life forever. Welcome back! Holy crap this is a good episode. Matt can't handle the White Castle Turkey Dinner Slider. Mainly because White Castle's are a time portal to planet filth. Butterball meat smothered in Bijou Sauce...what could make your mouth water more..for a glass of water. Todd can't figure out how to use Facebook in a way that isn't inherently Facebooky. He just wants to post a picture of his kid winning an award, but no matter how he posts it, he looks like a braggart jerk. Thanks Obama. Matt buys some lucky kid a Star Wars pancake mold. Or a waffle iron. Or a pancake mold. Or a waffle iron. Or... Matt killed it on Windy City Live. Todd came through in the clutch with glass-carrying skillz. Matt betrayed his own cool with a thousand-yard-stare into his beer glass on live television. Dave doesn't know what to do with his children now that it's December and there's no snow. Running on dry grass just doesn't seem like an option. We want to hear from you!!! Call us at (657) BAD DADS or send us an e-mail at paternitypodcast@gmail.com.
