A sermon by Rev. Mitchell Hay and Rev. Barbara Lemmel. Hebrew Scripture - Isaiah 64 selections Oh, that you would burst from the heavens and come down! How the mountains would quake in your presence! As fire causes wood to burn and water to boil, your coming would make the world tremble. For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait! You welcome those who gladly do mercy and justice, who follow your ways. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind. And yet, O Lord, you are our Parent. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand. Gospel - Mark 13:24-37 But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see The Promised One coming in clouds with great power and glory, sending out the angels, and gathering the chosen from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky. From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know the Promised One is near, at the very gates. Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. But about that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Begotten One, but only Abba God. Beware, keep alert; for you do not know when the time will come. It is like people going on a journey, when they leave home and put their workers in charge, each with a certain task, and those who watch the front gate ordered to stay on the alert.
Christendom is directly opposed to the reign of ChristToday's homily is based on the following lectionary readings selected for Christ the King Sunday:Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24Thus says the Lord God: I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out. As shepherds seek out their flocks when they are among their scattered sheep, so I will seek out my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places to which they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited parts of the land. I will feed them with good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel shall be their pasture; there they shall lie down in good grazing land, and they shall feed on rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will make them lie down, says the Lord God. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them with justice. Therefore, thus says the Lord God to them: I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. Because you pushed with flank and shoulder, and butted at all the weak animals with your horns until you scattered them far and wide, I will save my flock, and they shall no longer be ravaged; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David shall be leader among them; I, the Lord, have spoken.Matthew 25:31-46 (The Inclusive Bible)31 “At the appointed time the Promised One will come in glory, escorted by all the angels of heaven, and will sit upon the royal throne, 32 with all the nations assembled below. Then the Promised One will separate them from one another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats. 33 The sheep will be placed on the right hand, the goats on the left. 34 “The ruler will say to those on the right, ‘Come, you blessed of my Abba God! Inherit the kindom prepared for you from the creation of the world! 35 For I was hungry and you fed me; I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me; 36 naked and you clothed me. I was ill and you comforted me; in prison and you came to visit me.' 37 Then these just will ask, ‘When did we see you hungry and feed you, or see you thirsty and give you drink? 38 When did we see you as a stranger and invite you in, or clothe you in your nakedness? 39 When did we see you ill or in prison and come to visit you?' 40 The ruler will answer them, ‘The truth is, every time you did this for the least of my sisters or brothers, you did it for me.' 41 “Then the ruler will say to those on the left, ‘Out of my sight, you accursed ones! Into that everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and the fallen angels! 42 I was hungry and you gave me no food; I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink. 43 I was a stranger and you gave me no welcome; naked and you gave me no clothing. I was ill and in prison and you did not come to visit me.' 44 Then they in turn will ask, ‘When did we see you hungry or thirsty, or homeless or naked, or ill or in prison, and not take care of you?' 45 The answer will come, ‘The truth is, as often as you neglected to do this to one of the least of these, you neglected to do it to me.' 46 They will go off to eternal punishment, and the just will go off to eternal life.”

Into the fire of the Age prepared for the Slanderer and the fallen angels! For I was hungry, and you gave me no food; I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink. When we become part of the family of God, everything about our lives is transformed. Our prayers will have power because we can approach God as our Father, knowing that all the holes and gaps in our lives will be filled by Him.
A sermon by Rev. Mitchell Hay and Rev. Barbara Lemmel. Epistle - Ephesians 5:18b-21 Be filled with the Spirit, as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to one another, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks to Abba God at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, being subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. Gospel Mark 12:38-44 As Jesus taught, he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to have the best seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets! They devour widows' houses and for the sake of appearance say long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.” He sat down opposite the treasury and watched the crowd putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny. Then he called his disciples and said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. For all of them have contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”

A sermon by Rev. Mitchell Hay and Rev. Barbara Lemmel. Gospel Matthew 10:24-39 "A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a slave above the master; it is enough for the disciple to be like the teacher, and the slave like the master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household! "So have no fear of them; for nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known. What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim from the housetops! “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from Abba God. And even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows. "Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before Abba in heaven; but whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before Abba in heaven. “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a son against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one's foes will be members of one's own household. ["Don't think I've come to make life cozy. I've come to cut—make a sharp knife-cut between son and father, daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law—cut through these cozy domestic arrangements and free you for God.” -The Message paraphrase] Whoever loves parents more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves children more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.
A sermon by Rev. Barbara Lemmel and Rev. Mitch Hay Hebrew Scripture Genesis 1:1-5 At the beginning of God's creating of the skies and the earth when earth was wild and waste (tohu va bohu), darkness over the face of Ocean, rushing-spirit (ruach) of God (elohim) hovering over the face of the waters-- God said: Let there be Light! And there was light. God saw the light: that it was good. God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light: Day! and the darkness God called: Night! There was setting, there was dawning: one day. Epistle 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 Finally, friends, farewell. Be restored; listen to my appeal; agree with one another; live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints greet you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. Gospel Matthew 28:16-20 The Eleven made their way to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had summoned them. At the sight of the risen Christ they fell down in homage, though some doubted what they were seeing. Jesus came forward and addressed them in these words: “All authority has been given me both in heaven and on earth; go therefore, and make disciples of all the nations. Baptize them in the name of Abba God, and of the Only Begotten, and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to carry out everything I have commanded you. And know that I am with you always, even unto the end of the age!”
A sermon by Rev. Mitchell Hay and Rev. Barbara Lemmel. Hebrew Scripture Jeremiah 29, excerpts These are the words of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the remaining elders among the exiles, and to the priests, the prophets, and all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had taken into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon . . . The letter read: "Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and husbands for your daughters, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. "But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare . . . For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope." New Testament Lesson Acts 1:1-11 In my earlier account, Theophilus, I dealt with everything that Jesus had done and taught, from the beginning until the day he was taken up, after he had given instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After the Passion, Jesus appeared alive to the apostles — confirmed through many convincing words — over the course of forty days, and spoke to them about the reign of God. On one occasion, Jesus told them not to leave Jerusalem. “Wait, rather, for what God has promised, of which you have heard me speak,” Jesus said. “John baptized with water, but within a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." While meeting together, they asked, “Has the time come, Rabbi? Are you going to restore sovereignty to Israel?” Jesus replied, “It is not for you to know times or dates that Abba God has decided. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes down upon you; then you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.” Having said this, Jesus was lifted up in a cloud before their eyes and taken from their sight. They were still gazing into the heavens when two messengers dressed in white stood beside them. “You Galileans — why are you standing here looking up at the skies?” they asked. “Jesus, who has been taken from you — this same Jesus will return, in the same way you watched him go into heaven.”

A sermon by Rev. Barbara Lemmel and Rev. Mitch Hay Gospel Lesson John 1 In the beginning was the one who is called the Word. The Word was with God and was truly God. From the very beginning the Word was with God. And with this Word, God created all things. Nothing was made without the Word. Everything that was created received its life from the Word, and its life gave light to everyone. The light keeps shining in the dark, and darkness has never put it out. The true light that shines on everyone was coming into the world. The Word was in the world, but no one knew him, though God had made the world with the Word. He came into his own world, but the nations did not welcome him. Yet some people accepted him and put their faith in him. So he gavethem the right to bethe children of God. They were not God's children by nature or because of any human desires. God's own self made them children of God. The Word became a human being and lived here with us. We saw his true glory, the glory of the only Son of Abba God. From him all the kindness and all the truth of God have come down to us.
Dear friends, grace to your and peace from Abba-God and the Lord Jesus Christ!Way back in mid-August, I introduced our Emotionally Healthy Relationships series imagining our spiritual lives as a marathon—a long, long race, or facetiously, a five-year mission to explore strange new feelings, seek new life in Christ's civilization, to boldly go where Christ has gone before! Since then, we've leaned into our biblical roots and drawn insights and tools from modern psychology, deepening our discipleship and growing in loving relationship with God and each other. And it's been good!To varying degrees, we've practiced…· Anchoring ourselves in the love of God by sitting quietly with God at least twice a day, beginning our mornings with God's voice in scripture and looking back at night to notice God's touch;· Then working the program: checking in with each other—staying connected through affirmations, puzzles, what we notice and prefer, hope and dream; · We've stopped mind-reading, clarified our expectations, and expressed our wishes gently and patiently; We've…· explored our families of origin—Jesus may be in my heart, but how does Grandpa (or Grandma!) still live in my bones?—· and looked beneath the surface of our lives to recognize the emotions in our bodies, minds, and hearts, letting them move through us instead of stuffing them down to come out sideways as illness or irritability. With growing awareness of what's going on in ourselves, our EHR group participants have begun to…· quiet ourselves to listen more deeply and fully to others;· clarify our values using a tool for self-examination and awareness called the “ladder of integrity;” and· put all these learnings together and become peacemakers who “fight clean.” We're learning to stand calmly, with “patient endurance” in our own God-given places, and to move through conflict in Christlike, calm, healthy ways with family, friends, and colleagues. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality lives the Jesus Way of Resting in God's Love and Following God's Lead. It isn't easy. But it is life giving and good.Support the show
The well-known and loved parable of Jesus also happens to be extremely provocative as it describes an Abba-God who is exceedingly, prodigiously, recklessly generous in many ways.

A sermon by Rev. Barb Lemmel and Rev. Mitch Hay Hebrew Scripture Lesson Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31 Does not wisdom call, and does not understanding raise her voice? On the heights, beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand; beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries out: “To you, O people, I call, and my cry is to all that live. The Lord created me at the beginning of God's work, the first of God's acts of long ago. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth— when he had not yet made earth and fields, or the world's first bits of soil. When God established the heavens, I was there, when God drew a circle on the face of the deep, when God made firm the skies above, when God established the fountains of the deep, when God assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when God marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside the Lord, like a master worker; and I was daily God's delight, rejoicing before the Lord always, rejoicing in God's inhabited world and delighting in the human race. Epistle Romans 5:1-5 Therefore, since we are vindicated by faithfulness, we have peace before God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. Gospel Lesson John 16:12-15 I have much more to tell you, but you can't bear to hear it now. When the Spirit of truth comes, she will guide you into all truth. She won't speak on her own initiative; rather, she'll speak only what she hears, and she'll announce to you things that are to come. In doing this, the Spirit will give glory to me, for she will take what is mine and reveal it to you. Everything that Abba God has belongs to me. That is why I said that the Spirit will take what is mine and reveal it to you.

Harmony Sunday worship service - 4/24/22 Sermon Series: Why Pray?Message by Pastor Mark StephensonMusic by Gattison and the worship band
Yes, it's exceedingly unfair that Thomas gets such a bad rap. But that's a sermon that's been preached a thousand times, including several times by Pastor Megan. Instead, this week she dives deep into what she'd always previously glossed right over. Jesus says to the gathered, frightened, newly Spirit-filled disciples: “As my Abba God sent me, so I am sending you.” With a huge nod to the BibleWorm podcast Scripture geniuses, Pastor Megan wonders what it means to be sent just as Jesus was sent by Abba God. In short: We are sent to be incarnated - to experience kinship and share life with all of creation. Thanks be to God!Sermon begins at minute 1:45John 20.19-31ResourcesBibleWorm podcast: Episode 339 – Jesus Appears to Thomas, Amy Robertson and Robert Williamson, Jr.Image: some Seattle Mennonites experiencing kinship with Thornton Creek (our watershed!), during Faith Climate Action Week 2022, photo taken by Pastor Megan RamerHymn: VT 358text: Victimae Pashali trans. This is Episode 443 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Mark 14:36 which says "And He was saying, “Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.”"We can come to him for anything. We can cry out and tell him about our struggles. We can vent about school, or work. We can cry and say why, why am I stuck in this season. Why am I still single, why haven't you given my a child. Parents want the best for their children. They make us work for certain things. They discipline but ultimately they want the best for us. They want us to succeed. Often times they surprise us or spoil us. Our father is no different. There are seasons in life where we cry out thank you father! Thank you for all that you've give me. There are seasons when we have more than enough and overcome with emotion."Quick Links: @mymorningdevo on IG: https://www.instagram.com/mymorningdevo/@alisonelizabethco on IG: https://www.instagram.com/alisonelizabethco/Facebook Group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/mymorningdevotional/Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/mymorningdevo)

Today's Words of Inspiration come from John 6:35-37: Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All those Abba God gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”

A reading and homily based on the following gospel from the Revised Common Lectionary:John 15:5-17Jesus said to his disciples, "I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. Whoever does not abide in me is thrown away like a branch and withers; such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Abba is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become[c] my disciples. “As my Abba has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. And you will abide in my love if you keep my commandments, just as I abide in Abba God's love and have kept God's commandments. I tell you all this that my joy may be yours, and your joy may be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. "And you are my friends, if you do what I command you. I no longer speak of you as subordinates, because a subordinate doesn't know a superior's business. Instead I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have learned from Abba God. It was not you who chose me; it was I who chose you to go forth and bear fruit. Your fruit must endure, so that whatever you ask of Abba God in my name God will give you. This command I give you: that you love one another. "
Shalom fam! Perhaps we haven't heard much about the flesh of Jesus Christ outside of the context of crucifixion or Bread of Life? However, Holy Spirit has shown through His Living Word the power of the Flesh of Jesus Christ as it pertains to His Bride (The Church) overcoming and making herself ready for Him-removing the blemishes, stains, and wrinkles of her garment as written in Ephesians 5:27 presenting her to Himself holy and blameless-that's a major part of Jesus's return people of God! As written we are advised not to have a hint of flesh found in sinful nature such as sexual immorality, any kind of impurity or greed because we are deemed God's holy people now on earth as in heaven as written in Ephesians 5:3, 1 Peter 1:15-16, 1 Peter 2, Deuteronomy 7:6, Isaiah 62:12, Daniel, etc. We are called to be imitators of Jesus Christ as written in Ephesians. We absolutely need his heart, mind, spirit, soul, and flesh people of God...we need the very flesh of Jesus Christ as written to remain in Him and Him in us, to become one in Him, etc. Holy Spirit has shown through scripture the power of his flesh (the flesh of Jesus Christ overcoming flesh found in the sinful nature. 1 John 4:16-20 Jesus has prayed the church be one in Him as He is one in the father. God is holy and anything in Him therefore is holy including us who are hidden in Jesus Christ, in his holiness and purity through his precious blood. Our eternal selves, the creation in Jesus Christ even now-we are currently hidden in Jesus Christ and seated with Him in heavenly realms as written in Colossians and Ephesians. Again bringing to mind that even outside the dimension of time we remain seated with the Holy One, Jesus Christ in eternity as his holy nation, his kings & priests, as his true sons of God; which by the way, affords us the privilege and honor to pray from a place of victory even now in and through Jesus Christ, by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony, his sacrifice on the cross and victory over sin and death praise Jesus. The word of God commands us to consume His flesh in remembrance of Him (the new blood covenant), His flesh is real flesh, food people of God as written in Matthew 26 and John 6 especially John 6:55-56 *see G4561 - sarx - Strong's Greek Lexicon (kjv) (blueletterbible.org). We are to renew our mind-taking on the mind of Christ and his heart of flesh and spirit as written in Ezekiel 36:26, Matthew 11:28-30, a clean heart as written in Psalm 51:10 and Matthew 5:8 all of which are very important regarding the process of transformation and maturation of a believer in Jesus Christ on the road to Romans 8:18 and 1 John 3:2 manifesting on earth as in heaven. Yahweh as a gift offers his children a new heart of flesh and spirit (a heart of flesh as written in Ezekiel 36:26 as opposed to remaining in the Romans 7:25 struggle) not a heart of stone, not a hardened heart, not a deceptive heart as written in Jeremiah 17 but his heart, his flesh and not our own praise God allowing Him to make us new, that new creation in Him! Allowing Jesus to change the very course of our sinful nature to that of his holy nature we see depicted in Isaiah 43:18-19 praise God. For the word of God speaks of the pure in Heart seeing God as written in Matthew 5:8! The word of God speaks of us putting on the mind of Christ, clothing ourselves in the essence of his heart which is humility and gentleness people of God. God has a heart and soul as written in Jeremiah. Our God desires us His Bride to become one with his heart, mind, soul, and flesh beautiful people of God! The two become one flesh as written in holy scripture. By the betrothal mentioned in Hosea 2 we see we shall also conceive become pregnant with the the seed of Yahweh-the seed of love, seed of righteousness and his faithfulness praise Jesus to bear fruit of his Spirit & kingdom praise Jesus on earth as in heaven praise God (we will rightly divide the scripture to further convey this concept). As Creator and our Groom (our Husband and Redeemer as written in Isaiah 54:5), Jesus is molding and shaping us into his Bride that will be flesh of of his flesh quite like he fashioned Eve for Adam, and Adam declared Eve was bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. The Church the Bride of Christ is to become one flesh with Jesus Christ via His holy matrimony covenant, peace covenant, and blood covenant praise God. Jesus Christ, God in flesh as written in 1 Timothy 3:16 lives-He is absolutely alive and offers us a heart of flesh and new spirit through the living Word of God as written in Ezekiel 36:26 praise God! A heart and spirit provided by Him for us that will help and cause us to obey Him, to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Abba God in heaven wants Godly offspring as written in Malachi 2:15 and Ezekiel 16 for example. Additionally, the living Word of God states we are born of God to be a kind of firstfruits of his creation through the Word of Truth, Jesus Christ as written in James 1:18. Check out this fresh new revelation, insight, and perhaps even new biblical concept that is absolutely amazing and true considering prophecies yet to be fulfilled concerning God's holy people written in Daniel 7, 8, 12 and Revelation 12 just to name a few people of God! The sons of God shall be on earth as He is heaven. Scripture declares the sons of God are his holy nation of kings and priests...vessels of His mercy and instruments of His righteousness displaying his splendor, glory and light on earth as in heaven. This is absolutely a part of prophecy unfolding as part of the culmination of all things and unity of the faith, the perfect plan and will of God per scripture people of God (Genesis 1:26-31). He wants to display his holiness through his chosen people Ezekiel 20:40-42, Isaiah 4:3 Receive the holiness and purity available to you in and through the heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit of Jesus Christ. We must renew our minds to receive of his holy flesh (body) people of God. Not all flesh is bad. The flesh of Jesus Christ is holy with abundant life, life eternal as written in John 6:54. His righteous, holy flesh is available to us via holy matrimony (betrothal) covenant becoming one with Him as His bride, receiving His new heart of flesh & spirit, through His blood covenant for He is the Sacrificial Lamb & Bread of Life, also through conception and birthing of His living word in and through us for the Word of God is the seed of life eternal and we may sow for ourselves (become pregnant) with his seed of righteousness in order that we bear the fruit of his unfailing love and devotion as written in Hosea 10:12..being slaves of God having our obedience lead us to reap holiness, righteousness, and eternal life as written in Romans 6:16-22.
Shalom fam! Praise Jesus for his resurrection power!!! We take time to acknowledge and pray a prayer of thanksgiving to Yahweh in Jesus name for his resurrection power and redemption through the precious blood of Jesus Christ our Messiah, our Adonai, our everything! We also learn about the four witnesses of God as written in Hebrews 2:4 (KJV). We compare and contrast the influence & applications of color used in the Kingdom of God vs. the Kingdom of Darkness. This is awesome and beneficial for us to pursue insight and understanding as warrior priests living and walking by the Spirit of God as written in Galatians 5:16-17, 25 in the supernatural realm (unseen realm- 2 Corinthians 4:18) given we battle not with flesh & blood but with entities described in Ephesians 6 praise Jesus. Also, this study aides us with gaining insight into some of the methods of communication Holy Spirit uses to communicate with his sons and daughters via a supernatural encounter, theophany, vision, and/or dream with regard to color and holy scripture (the logos word of God). Ephesians 3:10 Matthew 4:24 Mark 1:34 1 Peter 1:6 Titus 3:3 1 Peter 4:10 *Zechariah 14 for context please read the entire chapter with key verses: 16-19 referencing the preceding episode of restoration of apostolic doctrine, ordinances, precepts, & covenantal renewal(s) preparing the way for the second coming of Jesus, as well as kingdom life & reign on earth. Holy Annual Feasts such as the Feast of Tabernacles, observance of New Moons, & Sabbaths (Isaiah 66:23) are vitally important for our now season in preparation for the millennial reign with King Jesus post Tribulation period. Bless Abba God in Jesus name for the outpouring of his Spirit on us; especially for the Issachar anointing-it is our gift and help from Holy Spirit as we charter new territories in the realm of the Spirit on earth as in heaven! The body of Christ needs restoration of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding concerning the spiritual implications found within these statutes, ordinances, and precepts of the living word of God in Spirit and truth in Jesus name all to the glory of Abba God in heaven. Obedience is better than sacrifice and may we all continue to develop, grow, and flourish under the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ through his logos and rhema word, remaining enveloped by his love, and soaring like an eagle under the shadow of his mighty wings: He is our refuge as written in Psalm 91 glory to Jesus; amen brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ (Yahshua HaMashiach)! *Please visit the following links: CAIN - Rise Up (Lazarus) [Official Lyric Video] - YouTube Colours in Dreams - John Paul Jackson August 2013 - YouTube G4182 - polypoikilos - Strong's Greek Lexicon (KJV) (blueletterbible.org) G4164 - poikilos - Strong's Greek Lexicon (KJV) (blueletterbible.org) The Twelve Tribes of Israel - Who They Are and What Happened to Them (biblestudytools.com) Color, Symbolic Meaning of Definition and Meaning - Bible Dictionary (biblestudytools.com) Color; Colors - International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (biblestudytools.com)

Shalom. In today's episode we are talking about wearing the garments of righteousness in the Kingdom of God for the work of the Lord and the glory of the Lord. Before we jump into the deep and awesome treasures of scripture; I wish to thank Abba God in heaven for his son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and for the gift and indwelling of Holy Spirit. Father I pray (we) your people become increasingly and keenly aware of your presence reigning and ruling within us (that we become increasingly and keenly aware of the bounty of your love and wellspring of your living water flowing from our innermost being). Help us Holy Spirit to discern your still small voice; help us to stand in awe when you thunder from the heavens above. Let us not lose our sense of awe and reverence for your glory and majesty. You are holy, you are love, you are good. Holy Spirit teach us to clothe ourselves in the righteousness of Jesus Christ that we bear much fruit, good fruit; and, bring glory to your name. Amen. We know as children in the kingdom of God we are children of light and all that we are and all that we do in Jesus is by his grace, good measure of faith given unto us...with help from Holy Spirit. Once we seek the Kingdom of God and have come to learn what it means to enter into the Kingdom of God (or even to behold and perceive the Kingdom of God which could be a separate teaching); we can begin the process of seeking his righteousness. The first question I have for you is: How do we find the Righteous One, Jesus? Well, we can find him through his word; and today we will think of this process in the context of following a roadmap to get to our destination-unearthing the hidden treasures of righteous garments. So, we will look at Matthew 6:33 and then Romans 13. Matthew 6:33 instructs us to, "seek 1st his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you as well. We are currently in pursuit of this passage. Just for the purpose of context, Matt. 6:33 was written in the context of counsel (written to advise against the temptation and act of worrying and instructs the believer not to worry about what he/she will eat or drink for God knows what they have need of and he is their provider-in him they lack no good thing). Alright, so in pursuit of righteousness-we need to locate the garment of righteousness; which, happens to be the Righteous One...see Romans 13:14. The passage reads, "Instead clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the desires of the flesh." That's an amazing truth to learn we can put on Jesus as a garment (in all that he is, in all that he represents: he is the lion of Judah, he is the Lord of Hosts, he is our Wonderful Counselor). So, we're going to continue to identify additional garments of righteousness and then we'll get to my favorite parts of this teaching where we are going to discover the fruits produced from wearing the garments of righteousness! This is important so that we may come up with a game plan of how to apply this kingdom principle in our lives (our familial relationships, professional relationships, social, etc.). Go to Job 29:14, "I put on righteousness and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban." We are going to stay focused on the robe which speaks to our Kingdom Identity (our royalty with King Jesus); and, it also speaks to his covering over us. Next, we can locate the next garment in Isaiah 11:5, "righteousness will be a belt around his hips [referring to Jesus], and faithfulness the sash around his waist." The sash of faithfulness is a bonus garment for this teaching because it is our gift of faith (we exercise on a daily basis) that actually pleases God…we live, serve, and love through the good measure of faith gifted to us by God. Now, wearing the belt of righteousness speaks to the integrity of his righteousness versus unrighteousness such as self-righteousness. Like a belt the belt of righteousness of God will secure and uphold you having you to remain in God rather than in unrighteousness namely, self-righteousness. So, whether we are wearing any of the above garments of righteousness or the breastplate of righteousness located in Ephesians 6 regarding being dressed and equipped to engage in spiritual warfare on behalf of the kingdom of God...they will all yield fruit of the kingdom of God! So, I've located praise God 8 fruits produced from the garments of righteousness we can reap from the word of God and sow for the glory of God (*A method I'm referring to as P.R.S., which, we'll discuss later in this episode). **In this episode I used Strong's Online Concordance and BibleHub.com for use of biblical references and terms. So, the first fruit to yield from the garments of righteousness is, "God's unfailing love!" Hosea 10:12 records, "sow for yourselves righteousness and reap the fruit of loving devotion (unfailing love depending on the translation). Kingdom Authority! Isaiah 32:1 reads, “Behold a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule with justice. Wisdom! An additional route to gaining the wisdom of God is by wearing the righteous garments found in the kingdom of God. Psalm 37:30 reads, “The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.” Peace! Isaiah 32:17 reads, “The fruit of the Righteous will be peace!!! Quiet or Quietness as in Rest-quiet-undisturbed according to Strong's Concordance Online Psalm 32:17 Confidence! In the context of safety… forever. Psalm 32:17 Deliverance in the context of Help. Psalm 37:39 Salvation in the context of Victory. Psalm 37:39 So, now let us move into the application phase for our growth and development and then we will finish with application for working as laborers for God's harvest, amen! To clothe yourself in Righteousness is to seek the kingdom of God as the bible instructs. This means we are availing ourselves to grow and mature by faith in the Spirit and word of God as a believer. This entails us taking on the mind of Christ which, (in essence) is being kingdom minded. The best example of distinction I would make regarding mindset could be that we move from a church mindset into that of a kingdom mindset. Continue to do what we are doing now- seeking the righteousness of the Righteous One, Jesus Christ. This means we are pursuing those garments, we are wearing those garments, allow Holy Spirit to produce fruit from the garments of righteousness in us, our relationships-familial, professional, social, etc. Actually, let us be about the Father's business of clothing ourselves which requires us to include our heart, mind, soul, and spirit in the process of being clothed. This is not religion based; it's about relationship and entering into a more intimate relationship with the Righteous One, Jesus Christ in our mind, heart, soul, and strength (which, is our display of our submission unto him). It is our act of obedience and our display of love toward him in spirit and truth.
In this series we will get to know the different ways that God reveals Himself though out the Scriptures.
How often do you call on "Father God" quite often, probably. While it is good to call to Father God there is also a time to call on "Papa", "Daddy", and "Abba" God. Jesus made a way for us to reconnect with our Dad. We are Children of God. It is time we started treating God like our Papa. Through the use of three Beatitudes the Psalmist expresses his desire to be at home (the Temple) in the presence of God. His desire mirrors ours in that we seek an ongoing relationship of love and intimacy with our Abba God.
John 16:12-15Hear what the Spirit is saying to the church from the Gospel of John:12 I have much more to tell you,but you can’t bear to hear it now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, she will guide you into all truth. She won’t speak on her own initiative;rather, she’ll speak only what she hears, and she’ll announce to youthings that are yet to come. 14 In doing this, the Spirit will give glory to me,for she will take what is mineand reveal it to you. 15 Everything that Abba God hasbelongs to me.This is why I said thatthe Spirit will take what is mineand reveal it to you. 16 Within a short time you won’t see me,but soon after that you’ll see me again.”This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God
John 14: 21-29Hear what the Spirit is saying to the church from the Gospel of John:23 Jesus answered, “Those who love me will be true to my word, and Abba God will love them;and we will come to themand make our dwelling place with them. 24 Those who don’t love medon’t keep my words.Yet the message you hear is not mine;it comes from Abba God who sent me. 25 This much have I said to you while still with you; 26 but the Advocate, the Holy Spiritwhom Abba God will send in my name, will instruct you in everythingand she will remind you of all that I told you. 27 Peace I leave with you;my peace I give to you;but the kind of peace I give youis not like the world’s peace.Don’t let your hearts be distressed;don’t be fearful. 28 You’ve heard me say,‘I am going away but I will return.’If you really loved me,you would rejoice because I am going to Abba God,for Abba is greater than I. 29 I tell you this now, before it happens,so that when it happens you will believe. This is the word of the Lord. John 10:22-30Hear what the Spirit is saying to the church from the Gospel of John:22 The time came for Hanukkah, the Feast of the Dedication, in Jerusalem. 23 It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the Temple area, in Solomon’s Porch, 24 when the Temple authorities surrounded him and said, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you really are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” 25 Jesus replied, “I did tell you, but you don’t believe. The work I do in my Abba’s name gives witness in my favor, 26 but you don’t believe because you’re not my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never be lost. No one will ever snatch them from my hand. 29 Abba God, who gave them to me, is greater than anyone, and no one can steal them from Abba God. 30 For Abba and I are One.This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God
Today’s No-Brainer: The stories we tell say something about us. When we trust in our Abba God and our Lord Jesus Christ, we are not the heroes. God is always the hero who works through people. When we tell God's Story with our six Cee words, we are lifting God up as our hero!
Through the Word, "Abba" - God the Father - made all of Creation, and through the Word made incarnate - Jesus the Christ - He brought and still brings life, light, love, and hope to those in darkness. This living Word is the source of our physical, spiritual, and eternal life and is the greatest gift from our loving God. The Scripture references are Isaiah 61:10-62:3, Psalm 147:13-21, and Galatians 3:23-25,4:4-7. The Gospel reference is John 1:1-18.

John B. Cobb is one of the world's most renowned theologians and philosophers, noted especially for his Christological pluralism and work across many disciplines, and lately in major ways in ecological sustainability circles. His writing and thinking are marvelously clear and powerful, continuing even today at age 92. We are thrilled that just last week he agreed to sit down with Mormon Matters host Dan Wotherspoon and great friend of the show and frequent panelist James McLachlan for a brief discussion of his life and the development of his thought, and then a much more extensive focus on his latest book, Jesus' Abba: The God Who Has Not Failed. Jesus consistently referred to God the Father by the Aramaic term, "Abba," which is very intimate, indicating an unconditionally loving stance from the father to the child. Shortly after Jesus' death, Christianity began to employ monarchial titles to God--Lord, King, King of Kings, etc.--emphasizing God's sovereignty and power. This shift, coupled with all the wrong turns brought on by modernity (individualism, industrialization, professionalization, rationalization, pervasive technologies), have all but eliminated the use and feel of "Abba" in today's world. For Cobb, Jesus's "Abba" understanding led him to begin to look at others in the world through God's eyes. Abba is a God who loves ALL of us, not just those on "our" side. As such, we must meet the world with radical love; we must love even our enemies. God loves even sinners. Living out of this consciousness, Jesus rejected the compromises involved in accommodation of Roman rule in Palestine, but he likewise rejected the path of revolt, rightly predicting what eventually happened in Jerusalem when that strategy was tried. Instead, Jesus lived out a "third" option. And he lived it right on through to the cross. It was so powerful, many people were moved then, and throughout history (think of someone like St. Francis of Assisi), and even more recently (Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr., along with many, many Christians who have an Abba understanding of God). They live powerfully even as they live counter-culturally. In them, and should society shift its values away from money, power, and all the other distractions and selfishness of this world, Abba God has not failed. Tune in to hear from this most powerful thinker who has been and is changing the world person by person, book by book and whose work and influence is growing in places as far away as China and is inspiring great movements in ecological activism. It's a wonderful treat to have him engaging us in Mormonism.
