Aidan Johnston from Gun Owners of America talks about evidence that FBI agents pressured people into signing paperwork that waived their 2nd Amendment rights via the "NICS Indices Self-Submission Form." This form, discovered in 2019, allows individuals to “voluntarily” have their names added to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), permanently banning them from purchasing firearms or ammunition. Once submitted, this waiver cannot be reversed. GOA’s investigation reveals FBI agents pressured people into signing this form, often visiting their homes or workplaces and framing it as a means to prevent firearm access for those deemed a danger or mentally unfit. This coercion threatens constitutional rights and due process. Newly obtained documents show the FBI trained agents to use this form, targeting individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues. Emails reveal agents congratulating each other for successfully coercing victims into signing, underscoring the FBI’s disregard for due process. GOA demands immediate action from Congress and the executive branch to stop the FBI from using this form and ensure those affected are notified that they can still legally own firearms. Garland has been vacated via a three-judge panel. This essentially means that the panel ruled that bump stocks are not machine guns. This is a victory for the 2nd Amendment community even if you're not a fan of the bump stock. The battle determining the legality of bump stocks has been raging on for quite some time and the GOA has been working to restore these firearms accessories back to legal status as non-machineguns since they were first banned on March 26th of 2019.
