When Randy was struck with the idea of made-to-order Mexican food that was both fast and fresh, Chronic Tacos was born.Giving back to the community is important to Randy. Together with Chronic Tacos CEO Michael Mohammed and the entire Chronic Tacos team, they support nonprofits such as the Eco-Warrior Foundation where they participate in four beach clean-ups a year and provide free food to the volunteers. Jason Acuna, also known as Weeman from the Jackass collection of movies and television show, talks about his travels around the world. Being a fan of his work for 20 years made for a great conversation about growing up in the South Bay of the Los Angeles beach cities and him getting to travel the world for acting, skating and his business ventures with Chronic Tacos. We also discuss the idea of timing and how timing affects the decisions in your life. Some are fortunate and some don't work out at the time. Jason has taken advantage of being at the right place at the right time thru out his adult life and excelled with the opportunities that presented themselves to him.I was surprised with the countries he has yet to visit and I ‘m looking forward to following his journey to see when he finally arrives at those countries. Trust me he already has circumvented the globe several times but he still has some gems he wants to visit.Make sure to follow Jason and Chronic Tacos on their social media pages to see where new stores are opening and maybe even a chance to win tacos and meet Jason.ABOUT Jason “Weeman” AcunaBorn in Pisa, Italy of Chilean origin, Acuña grew up in Torrance, California, and attended North High School. He was the subscription manager for the skateboard magazine Big Brother. His association with that magazine led him to become involved with the Jackass television series in 2001. Acuña's Jackass antics include skating as an Oompa-Loompa, kicking himself in the head (a feat accomplished with the aid of his dwarven proportions), dressing as a king while rolling Johnny Knoxville down a staircase in a red carpet, doing deep-knee bends while holding NBA star Shaquille O'Neal on his back, and having Preston Lacy ask someone to help him with his bags, only to have Wee-Man pop out, causing Preston to give chase. In 2007, Acuña starred in the reality TV series Armed and Famous and in July 2007, Acuña appeared on TV as a host of MTV's Scarred Live.Acuña appeared on the first season of NBC's Celebrity Circus. In the fourth week of competition, he became the first contestant to receive a perfect score (a 10 point average). Acuña ended the season in third place.SUBSCRIBEYou can subscribe to The Travel Wins Podcast on Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, YouTube, iHeart Radio, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Spreaker, Podnews, Castbox, Pocket Casts, Radio Public, and Amazon. The Travel Wins intro song by Allison Johnson and Steve StevensWebsite Design by Stack Host#weeman #jasonacuna #jackass

Mike Mohammed: “We really pride ourselves on authenticity. So authenticity in the food, as Randy said, it started with authentic recipes. But then an authentic vibe with the people and how we interact with our customers and with each other. For us in our culture, we really value creativity. We value progressiveness, and we value having fun.So that's kind of at the core of our culture. And then from there, obviously, we have pillars that drive us. For us, it's unparalleled flavor, elevated vibe and an irresistible edge. And when we're talking about the irresistible edge, it's just fun, it's playful. But we want to create a different vibe when you walk in with the music, with the art, with the entire decor. So it's very authentic to who we are. We're always looking at what we're doing.Randy Wyner: To me, it's just having fun. It's doing it the way you want to do it. Like when you go into our restaurant, you make it how you want it, and that was a big thing. I'm a picky eater, and I want to make it how I like it.”Mike Mohammed: “Be who you are.”Randy Wyner: “Be who you are.”– Randy Wyner, Founder/President, Chronic Tacos Enterprises, Inc. & Mike Mohammed, CEO, Chronic Tacos Enterprises, Inc.

On this episode of Run The Pass, Host Andre Natera talked with Michael Mohammed, the Chief Executive Officer and President at Chronic Tacos Enterprises, Inc., where he oversees the strategic vision of the fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand. The duo talked about Mohammed's career, Chronic Tacos, and creating a vibe.Mohammed and his three brothers first became affiliated with Chronic Tacos back in 2010, when they helped finance the chain's expansion into Canada. They noticed the potential for the brand and, in 2012, took it over. While they do have one store in Montgomery, Texas, most of their locations are in California. For him and the brand, it's all about “living the taco life.”Founded in 2004 by two friends in Orange County, California, they set out to create taqueria-style food with a Southern California vibe. The taco life.“They wanted something fun, with an atmosphere,” Mohammed said. “The recipes they got from family friends are third-generation recipes, really authentic, and they wanted to kind of meld that into a vibe with music playing, a real, local feel and somewhere fun...It's that southern California vibe.”His background isn't in restaurants, though he has grown into the role. After earning an MBA at Saint Martin's University in Washington State, he eventually landed at Boeing as a Financial Analyst. Then he stumbled into sales at his family's business, Cattermole Group, where he worked his way up to President in 2004. In this role, he focused the company on investment and real estate projects.

Restaurant Entrepreneur Randy Wyner & President/CEO Mike Mohammed. Sometimes it starts with a Carne Asada Burrito and a Shrimp Taco and ends up a global phenomenon. It's not always over night and it's not always the guys with an MBA from Harvard business school with enough angel investors to open a dozen locations either! Randy Wyner, Chronic Taco's founder opened his restaurant in the same plaza he frequented growing up. From there he would expand his love into a franchise that would cross boarders into Canada and eventually make it's way over to Japan! It was in Canada he met his future CEO/President Mike Mohammed who combined his sense of business with Randy's world renowned menu and begin building like never before. Welcome to another episode of Action and Ambition. In today’s episode, we have invited Michael Mohammed, the CEO of Chronic Tacos. Michael has a background in finance and sales. He was a financial analyst at Boeing and was involved in real estate and private equity investing and lending. Coming from an entrepreneurial family, Michael has always been business-minded, and after a thorough researching and learning the specifics of franchising, he and his brothers saw an opportunity to get involved in the franchise of Chronic Tacos, and potentially partner with founder Randy Wyner. 16 years ago, Chronic Tacos just started out as a little taco shop, but with time and experience, exploded into a Taco Empire. Randy started Chronic Tacos and in 2011, Michael took over and took it further, implemented systems in place that allowed them to grow from a little taco shop to an empire, with over 50 locations all over the United States, Canada, and even Japan. Now, his goal in the next five years is to have 100 franchise locations around the states. This is an episode you are surely gonna love! Your one-stop resource of what you need to know about franchising, freely available! You are going to love today's episode.

Sean owns three Chronic Tacos locations in N.C. and is planning more. He had a short run in hospitality before diving into this opportunity, but he went after it full speed ahead and is having lots of success. There's a 100% chance you'll learn something meaningful from Sean and be inspired. And you'll laugh a few times as well! He is high energy, sharp, confident, fun to hang out with, and a master of Instagram with over 14,000 followers (he shares his secret sauce during the interview). I really enjoyed learning from a guy who invested into somebody else's idea but has taking ownership of making sure it's very successful in his territory. Sean's awesome, enjoy...

I met Dan through Brian Chau, you might recognize him in episode 3. In the past couple of years, Dan has been slowly building this incredible, much-needed space within the Bay Area. Dan thought of Tinker Kitchen when he was in college. One of his class had a “Learn-by-Doing” workshop that he loved. Combined with his fascination with cooking, this dream was decades in the making. Having the chance to explore the space, you have food service equipment, so much table space, and any machine you can think of. From freeze dryers to centrifuges. We go into great detail on building this space, such as the challenges in construction, and the rewarding feeling of completing a dream. Tinker Kitchen is now open for business and the price you pay to play there is phenomenal. Check out their website at Tinkerkitchen.org and I hope to see you at Tinker Kitchen some day. We are meeting with Michael Mohammed, CEO of Chronic Tacos, Chronic Tacos is the fast casual concept that offers the taste of Mexican cuisine in a fun, laid back atmosphere. Chronic Tacos was founded in 2001 by Randy Wyner and Dan Biello. The pair had an idea that fast, fresh, made to order Mexican food could be served up with authentic recipes in a fun and friendly atmosphere. They envisioned great Mexican food with California style. By 2004, Chronic Tacos became a local sensation and the owners found that customers were flocking not only from Newport Beach, where the first location opened, but from nearby cities as well. It was at this point they realized it was time to expand.
It's the big FIVE - OH for Solid Cat, as we reach Episode 50. The Slumber Party of Podcasts hits the road, literally, as we podcast while driving (please don't try this at home). Plus, we have the added plus of this being the first episode with an appearance by Zoe, the Danger Diva. It's really like you're taking a road trip with the three of us... while we try to record a show. How will it sound? That's up to you. But in this week's podcast, we discover our car's turn signals are really loud, and traffic is noisy. We credit Newbsradio for helping Solid Cat across Canada. We ask, what noise does a muskox make? We talk beer cans, and stumble upon a farmer's market. We have lunch at Chronic Tacos, and someone says, "disturbingly healthy." We find out Val's dream vacation. And we issue the Solid Cat General Apology, while pleading with humanity not to live up (or down) to the stereotype.
