Ingrid Curtis -- she spent 17 years helping build one of the most ambitious digital transformation platforms in enterprise. She then became its CEO, and her first move was to say the whole thing needed to be rebuilt. She has a rare kind of credibility; she didn't just form opinions about why enterprise aI initiatives keep failing, she helped build the infrastructure that's now becoming the bottleneck. And rather than quietly course-correct, she's calling it out openly. As CEO of Sparq, she's repositioning the company from digital-first to data-first, and she believes this shift is about to become the defining leadership challenge in enterprise.
Dr. Amber Michelle Hill spent 14 years inside medical research — as a neuroscientist, in the lab, on the preclinical side, and patient-facing — before she discovered the real reason 90% of clinical trials fail. And it has almost nothing to do with the science. In this Inspiring Women conversation, host Laurie McGraw sits down with the founder and CEO of Research Grid (R.grid), the London-based, VC-backed company she built to take the administrative burden out of clinical trials, speed them up, and make them more diverse and representative of the people the medicines are meant to serve. Research Grid didn't start as Research Grid. It grew out of Movement for Hope, a nonprofit Amber founded during her academic years that brought researchers, artists, and patient advocates together to raise awareness for neurological conditions. When COVID shut the events down and investors passed on the idea, she repurposed the technology — and the hard-won community relationships behind it — into two AI products: Inclusive, which automates everything that happens before a trial starts and expands access to underrepresented patients, and Trial Engine, which automates the back office of the trial itself. Today that network spans 99,000+ communities, 400 million members across 157 countries, and 2,000 health indications — all built by hand, over years, with no bought data, while the company stayed stealth for four years before launching in 2023. Amber breaks down why a single medicine takes 10 to 14 years to go from bench to bedside, why $400 million per trial is burned on admin alone, and how women were once excluded from drug testing entirely. Then she gets brutally honest about raising money as a woman of color in a world where less than 2% of funding reaches female founders — including the investor-scoring matrix she built to decide who's even worth her time. And through all of it, she stays an artist: every painting in her home, including the giant acrylic pour behind her, is her own. WHAT WE COVER: - The art-and-science mind behind the company — and why painting quiets her thinking - 14 years as an end-to-end researcher, and how Movement for Hope became Research Grid - Why 90% of clinical trials fail — and why it's an admin problem, not a science one - The hidden cost of research: $400M per trial and 28,000 hours per person on admin - Why 84% of trials still don't reach the people who need them in time - How women were excluded from drug trials, and the fight to diversify research - Building a 400-million-member network the hard way, with no bought data - How AI took a six-month site feasibility process down to minutes - The truth about raising capital when you're "different from the person across the table" - How she scores and filters investors instead of chasing them - Repositioning to seed and landing in the top 1% of seed-stage companies globally - Her golden rule for founders: never assume common sense GUEST: Dr. Amber Michelle Hill, Founder & CEO, Research Grid (R.grid) HOST: Laurie McGraw ABOUT INSPIRING WOMEN: Inspiring Women with Laurie McGraw features candid conversations with the women leaders, founders, and changemakers reshaping their industries.

In fast-moving B2B markets, positioning rarely stays fixed for long. As technology, buyer expectations, and competitive dynamics shift, companies have to keep refining how they communicate their value. But repositioning too often, or too abruptly, can confuse customers, slow sales momentum, and weaken trust. In this episode, Caitlin Allen, SVP of Market & Strategic Advisory Board Chair at Simbe Robotics, unpacks what it actually takes to reposition a company multiple times while continuing to scale. Caitlin shares lessons from leading Simbe Robotics through several major shifts, from robotics to shelf digitization to the broader category of store intelligence, all while navigating long enterprise sales cycles, evolving market expectations, and increasing competitive pressure. Caitlin explains how to recognize when messaging has stopped creating meaningful differentiation and breaks down the practical work behind positioning changes, including how SaaS companies can approach AI messaging without defaulting to generic claims that fail to set them apart. Key Takeaways: How customer signals reveal when positioning has stopped differentiating Why gradual messaging shifts protect trust better than hard resets How unclear AI positioning can weaken differentiation Timestamps: (00:00) Introduction (03:58) The retail problem Simbe Robotics was built to solve (07:01) Why Simbe Robotics has repositioned three separate times (08:55) Creating FOMO without creating fear (09:58) Building credibility through third-party validation (11:58) Moving beyond robotics into store intelligence (13:59) The signals that tell you it's time to reposition (15:57) Repositioning without disrupting active deals (17:56) Protecting brand equity while evolving the narrative (19:56) Aligning sales teams around new positioning (24:02) Why repositioning works better through "breadcrumbing" (26:58) The next shift toward store intelligence (29:00) Why most rebranding announcements miss the point (30:59) The risk of chasing AI positioning trends Check out the ebook " Trust Issues: How SaaS and AI-Native Brands Can Beat AI Credibility Fatigue" by PANBlast: https://www.panblastpr.com/resources/trust-issues-ai-credibility-ebook/

What does a cereal box have to do with leadership, reputation and career progression? More than most people realise. In this solo episode of Leading You, Julie Hyde unpacks one of the most powerful metaphors she uses with clients when discussing identity, leadership positioning and professional reputation. Because just like products on a supermarket shelf, people make decisions about you long before they understand the full picture. Your reputation is your packaging.Your behaviours are your ingredients panel. And whether intentional or not, you are constantly training people how to see you. This episode explores why highly capable leaders often become trapped inside outdated perceptions, how behaviours reinforce professional identity over time, and why visibility alone will not move you into your next level of leadership. Julie also explores research from organisational psychologist Dr Tasha Eurich around self-awareness and why the gap between how we see ourselves and how others experience us often widens at senior levels. In this episode, we cover: Leadership identity and reputation Why behaviours shape positioning The danger of becoming known only as “the doer” Strategic positioning vs visibility Self-awareness and executive perception How leaders accidentally reinforce outdated identities Repositioning yourself for future leadership opportunities Why delivering more is not always the answer If you have ever wondered why you continue being seen for the same type of work despite wanting more influence, this episode will challenge how you think about leadership growth. Because your reputation is already speaking for you. The question is… what is it saying? Sometimes rejection is not a failure, it's a repositioning. I break down how getting rejected from a job, relationship, opportunity, or space often means you were misaligned, not worthless. A lot of people take rejection personally because they tie their identity to being accepted, but that's a dangerous way to measure your value. I explain why position matters more than approval and how the wrong space can make you think something is wrong with you when it's really just the wrong fit. Sometimes the rejection is actually redirecting you toward where you belong and where you can win bigger. Show Notes: [03:21]#1 Rejection exposes structural mismatch. Heartbreak is not just a loss, it's a repositioning event. I explain why most men respond to heartbreak by chasing comfort instead of upgrading their position, and how that keeps them stuck in the same cycles with the same types of people. The real opportunity after heartbreak is to rebuild yourself stronger, smarter, and with higher standards than before. I also break down why some people emotionally stop growing after a major setback and end up reliving the same patterns for years. Growth only happens when you use the pain to evolve instead of using comfort to avoid it. Show Notes: [04:52]#1 Identity must not be couple dependent. Eddie Hertzman, founder of Athletech News and creator of the Athletic Innovation Summit, pulls no punches in this conversation about what's holding the fitness industry back — and what it's going to take to finally move it forward. From the frustrating silence of successful fitness executives who refuse to show up at industry events, to the critical gap between how this industry sees itself and how consumers and investors see it, Eddie breaks down why fitness still hasn't gotten its "got milk moment." He and Eric dig into the second year of the Athletic Innovation Summit, what makes it genuinely different from every other fitness conference, and why bringing in voices from hospitality, media, luxury brands, and Wall Street is the only way this industry levels up. After a trillion‑dollar sell‑off in software stocks and the so‑called “SaaSpocalypse”, it is not just founders who are nervous - CMOs and marketing leaders are questioning the future of their products and positioning. In this episode of the FINITE Podcast we sit down with Antony Cousins, VP Product at Meltwater, to interrogate the death‑of‑SaaS narrative head‑on. They unpack how investor decks, agentic AI and vibe‑coded tools like Claude Cowork have fuelled the story that AI will replace subscriptions. Ant brings a rare perspective, combining a career in Ministry of Defence tech roles with frontline communications work in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Arab Spring, leadership in AI startups and now product leadership at Meltwater. He has spent the last decade at the intersection of AI, media intelligence and reputation. If you are a B2B marketing leader wondering how AI will affect your revenue, this conversation will help you separate existential risk from lazy narrative – and design for growth, not just survival.Inside you'll find…Why “SaaS is dead” is an oversimplified narrative – and where AI agents and vibe‑coded tools genuinely threaten software. How data moats, long‑term memory and UX become the defensible edge in an AI‑native SaaS ecosystem. What CMOs and agencies should change now: commercial models, junior hiring and how they collaborate with software providers.
Andy Schectman rejoins the Friday Night Economic Review for a timely discussion on the most important shifts unfolding in the global economy. As financial uncertainty grows, nations around the world are accelerating moves away from the U.S. dollar by increasing trade in local currencies, building alternative settlement systems, and rapidly expanding their gold reserves. At the same time, many countries—including China—appear to be stockpiling and protecting silver holdings as strategic assets in an increasingly unstable world. Andy breaks down what these trends could mean for the dollar, inflation, central bank policy, and the future of global trade. He also explains why gold and silver have historically become more valuable during periods of monetary stress, geopolitical tension, and economic transition.Be smart, protect your assets with a company you can trust at premiums that respects your value – go to SarahWestall.com/MilesFranklin to get access to the private price list.See exclusives and more at SarahWestall.Substack.com

In 1971, the French government announced a massive extension of its military base on the Larzac plateau in southern France. Land was to be expropriated from 107 farms around the small town of La Cavalerie. Limited resistance was expected, but what happened next exceeded all expectations. Local sheep farmers set up protest camps and occupied the land. They soon attracted an astonishing level of support, pioneering a form of regional radicalism with global implications. Drawing out the international dimensions of the protest, Make cheese not war: Transnational resistance and the Larzac in modern France (Manchester University Press, 2026) by Dr. Andrew Smith explores a transnational resistance movement in the 1970s that challenged dominant visions of modernity and became a wellspring of radical alternatives. Exploring previously unconsulted archives in France and elsewhere, the book offers an in-depth analysis of the decade-long peasant movement and its aftermath. Repositioning the Larzac struggle within a wider network of French and international solidarities, from the US to the UK, Germany, Burkina Faso, New Caledonia and Japan, the book retraces political networks of pacifist activism, as well as environmental movements and anti-nuclear protest. It shows how this French peasant campaign became both a platform and a model for popular engagement. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. REPOSITIONING MEN IN TODAY'S WORLD | PROPHET SHEPHERD BUSHIRI
This is an unfiltered Q&A episode. No script. No preparation. Just the questions you submitted and my honest answers about what's keeping you stuck. We're covering why content gets engagement but not sales, how to reposition without losing momentum, when to delegate sales, whether to scale one offer or build multiple, what identity shift is required to hit seven figures, and if I could only help you fix one thing to unlock scale, what would I look at.Here's the truth: most of you are solving for the symptom, not the source. You want premium buyers but solve low-level problems. You're keeping strategies that haven't moved the needle in six months because you think doing more equals making more. Repositioning a 100-year-old luxury resort hits different than building something new. You work with history, legacy expectations, and a modern guest who doesn't care about any of that unless the experience delivers. Suzanne co-hosts with me, and we talk with Daniel Hostetler, President & CEO of The Boca Raton, about how the property has managed a multi-year repositioning under new ownership — what they changed, why they changed it, and how they operate it day to day. I'm sharing it under #NoVacancyNews. Here's what we hit:
In this episode, we sit down with Myisha Moore, founder of Saint Enzo — a luxury modern Lambrusco designed to rival Champagne in quality and sophistication. Launched in August 2025, Saint Enzo's first release sold out within minutes online. Retailing at $80, the wine is produced entirely in Italy using 100% organic Lambrusco Grasparossa, with zero additives or cellar manipulation — challenging outdated perceptions of Lambrusco and restoring it to its historic prestige. Myisha, a brand management leader with experience across Nike, BlackRock, Ferrari, and Christian Louboutin, identified a white space in the wine and celebration market. Partnering with Armon Moore — a Creative Director with experience spanning Bentley, Bevel, and global luxury wine markets — the duo spent six years developing a product intentionally designed for modern connection and elevated celebration. In this conversation, we discuss: • Repositioning misunderstood categories as aspirational • From personal observation to market opportunity • Six years of vineyard visits and producer partnerships • The intersection of design, strategy, and luxury • Building a brand ecosystem rooted in joy and cultural relevance Saint Enzo is more than wine — it's a reframe of celebration itself. Ridepanda turned the failed unit economics of shared micro-mobility into a viable B2B model by eliminating operational costs that drove Lime's per-minute pricing from $0.15 to $0.55. After working at Lime and seeing firsthand why rebalancing, charging, vandalism, and theft made profitability impossible, Co-founder Chinmay Malaviya built a subscription model where employers subsidize personal e-bikes and scooters for employees. The insight: commuting is planned travel with validated enterprise budgets already allocated to parking, shuttles, and transit. Ridepanda now works with Amazon, Google, and County of San Mateo, achieving 5-15% employee adoption—triple San Francisco's 2-4% bike commute rate—with 85% being net-new riders who've never regularly used bikes or scooters before. Topics Discussed: Why shared micro-mobility's cost structure (rebalancing, charging, vandalism) made $0.55/minute pricing inevitable Targeting enterprise transportation teams versus mid-market HR benefits buyers as distinct ICPs Subscription economics: $50-$250/month with employer subsidies only triggering on employee sign-ups Converting non-riders to daily commuters: 85% adoption from people who previously didn't bike/scooter Enterprise-first strategy: going where dedicated teams and budgets already exist for employee transportation Vertical expansion into manufacturing, law firms, hospitals, and universities GTM Lessons For B2B Founders: Target existing budget holders, not net-new spending: Enterprises already fund parking facilities, shuttle services, van pools, and commuter benefits through dedicated transportation and facilities teams. Ridepanda didn't create a new expense category—they repositioned within existing line items. This meant selling to buyers with validated pain, allocated budget, and quarterly goals tied to employee transportation. When entering established markets, map where your solution fits in current spending patterns rather than forcing buyers to carve out new budget. Structure pricing to eliminate perceived risk: The subsidy only applies when an employee signs up—there's no upfront commitment or wasted spend on unused capacity. This removed the enterprise objection of "why am I paying when I'm not getting anything." For a new category where adoption rates are unproven, usage-based pricing aligned incentives and made pilots trivial to approve. When selling unproven solutions, architect your commercial model so the buyer's risk scales linearly with actual utilization. Segment ICP by buyer motivation, not just company size: Enterprise buyers (transportation/facilities teams) optimize for modal shift, carbon reduction, and getting employees out of single-occupancy vehicles. Mid-market buyers (HR/benefits managers) optimize for return-to-office adoption, wellness metrics, and benefits competitiveness. Same product, completely different value props and sales conversations. Don't assume company size determines buyer psychology—map the org chart to understand who owns the problem and what they're measured on. Attack broken unit economics, not just user experience: Lime's pricing increase from $0.15 to $0.55 per minute wasn't greed—it was fundamental business model failure. Shared services require rebalancing fleets, charging distributed assets, and absorbing vandalism/theft losses. Personal ownership via subscription eliminated every operational cost that made shared mobility unprofitable. When incumbents are struggling financially despite strong demand, the opportunity isn't better execution—it's a structural model shift. Prove behavior change at enterprise scale, not just product-market fit: Achieving 5-15% employee adoption when the city baseline is 2-4% demonstrates that subsidized access plus personal ownership drives 3x penetration. More critically, 42% daily usage from an 85% net-new rider base proves the model creates new commuting behavior rather than capturing existing cyclists. Enterprise buyers focused on emissions and modal shift care about conversion metrics, not vanity usage numbers. Define the transformation metric that proves you're changing behavior systemically, not incrementally. // Sponsors: Front Lines — We help B2B tech companies launch, manage, and grow podcasts that drive demand, awareness, and thought leadership. www.FrontLines.io The Global Talent Co. — We help tech startups find, vet, hire, pay, and retain amazing marketing talent that costs 50-70% less than the US & Europe. www.GlobalTalent.co // Don't Miss: New Podcast Series — How I Hire Senior GTM leaders share the tactical hiring frameworks they use to build winning revenue teams. In today's world where every imaginable product can appear at your doorstep with the click of a button, the art that goes into manufacturing those products is increasingly overlooked. Tim Minshall is a professor of innovation at the University of Cambridge and the author of How Things Are Made: A Journey Through the Hidden World of Manufacturing. As head of the Institute for Manufacturing, Tim is shaping the future leaders of manufacturing and reinforcing the critical role manufacturing plays in today's world. In this conversation, Tim and Greg discuss the disconnect happening between modern-day consumers and the products they buy, plus the misconception that manufacturing has declined. They also delve into the complexity and fragility of manufacturing systems, the role of education in manufacturing, challenges in reviving manufacturing, and the future of manufacturing and software integration. *unSILOed Podcast is produced by University FM.* Episode Quotes: Bridging the gap between idea and implementation 08:09: The narrative has got a bit confused. This idea that there is a thing called innovation where you have got all the great science and technology and all this cool stuff happening, and that is brilliant. And then there is a bit, which is now implement, or we can call that manufacturing and, as you say, not without its challenges to scale and support software at scale. It is a non-trivial challenge. But if you are scaling up the production process for a new cell therapy to treat cancer or scaling up the production of, a novel semiconductor approach using, I do not know, compound semiconductors, there is, as you say, massive physical challenges involved there, so, but to me that is all part of the same innovation story. You go from the idea and the market opportunity all the way through is part of the innovation story. There is not this neat line in the middle which goes, yes, we have done with the innovation, now we manufacture. Have we become disconnected from how manufacturing happens? Every single thing we can see, unless it is a plant, a rock, an animal, or another human, has been manufactured...All of these things have been manufactured, and so there has been a slight worrying thing that has happened, certainly in the UK, and I suspect a little bit in the US as well, which is we have become disconnected from how that happens. And the more we become disconnected from it, the less we appreciate how incredibly clever it is. What are one of the biggest challenges facing manufacturing? 16:39: One of the biggest challenges facing manufacturing is. Getting good people to want to work in factories. Surely step one is making it visible. If you do not know it and you have not seen it, you are unlikely to just go, oh, I want to get involved in manufacturing. You need to have seen it. Repositioning manufacturing as the thing that drives solution 23:24: We have to reposition manufacturing as the thing that drives solutions. It is the thing that pushes us to deal with the energy transition. It allows us to deal with our multiple healthcare crises. It is what allows us to deal with sustainability challenges, all of these, it allows us to deal with the defense challenges. Geopolitics at the moment is pointing to extremely important role for manufacturing. We would rather not be in this situation, but it is an absolute truth. Description: Jen revisits this fan favorite episode with Mel Robbins. Buckle up, listeners. It was only a matter of time before our paths crossed with Mel Robbins, one of the most respected experts on change and motivation in the zeitgeist, and today is that day. Known for being the host of the #1 ranking education podcast in the world, bringing deeply relatable topics, tactical advice, tools, and compelling conversations to her audiences, Jen and Amy spend today's hour diving into Mel's “Let Them” theory, which is taking the world by storm, already delivering instant peace and freedom in the lives and relationships of people putting it into practice. Together, they discuss: The difference between “Let Them” and “Let Me” Learning to release the white-knuckle grip we hold over other people's behavior (and other things beyond our control) Reframing disappointment to view it as a gift (yes, it's possible!) Repositioning self-worth inward, rather than leaving it dependent on others' opinions. Thought-provoking Quotes: “For a lot of women, we spend so much time upstairs in our heads as people-pleasers and over-analyzers, over-thinking and ruminating, trying to get things perfect. That's the last place I should be, personally. I need to drop into my body and get out of my head.” – Mel Robbins “People reveal who they are and what they care about through their behavior. Ignore their words. Watch their behavior. Let people be who they are. Let them do what they're going to do. Focusing on them is not where your power is.” – Mel Robbins “The difference between ‘not my business' and ‘let them' is worlds apart. When you say, ‘not my business', you're scolding yourself. With, ‘let them', you're in the power position because you see what's happening and are choosing to allow it without allowing it. You're rising above it.” – Mel Robbins Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Demotivators - https://despair.com/collections/ Effin Birds on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/effinbirds/ Van Morrison - https://www.vanmorrison.com/ No Hard Feelings by the Avett Brothers - https://open.spotify.com/track/0bgQ1hQrpP6ScdBZlDfLE2 Foo Fighters - https://foofighters.com/ DePeche Mode - https://www.depechemode.com/ The Cure - https://www.thecure.com/ Taylor Swift - https://www.taylorswift.com/ The 5 Second Rule: Transform Your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage by Mel Robbins - https://amzn.to/427OHwu The Let Them Theory: A Life-Changing Tool That Millions of People Can't Stop Talking About by Mel Robbins - https://amzn.to/4hc53bE The Mel Robbins Podcast - https://www.melrobbins.com/podcast The Four Questions: For Henny Penny and Anybody with Stressful Thoughts by Byron Katie - https://amzn.to/3C7tKXT My Legacy Podcast - https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-my-legacy-podcast-255793246/ Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl - https://amzn.to/4ajbyaz Dr. Stuart Ablon - https://www.stuartablon.com/ The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson - https://amzn.to/3PCqxmi Guest's Links: Website - https://www.melrobbins.com/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/melrobbins/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/melrobbins Twitter - https://x.com/melrobbins Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/melrobbins TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@melrobbins Podcast - https://www.melrobbins.com/podcast/ Connect with Jen!Jen's Website - https://jenhatmaker.com/ Jen's Instagram - https://instagram.com/jenhatmakerJen's Twitter - https://twitter.com/jenHatmaker/ Jen's Facebook - https://facebook.com/jenhatmakerJen's YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/user/JenHatmaker The For the Love Podcast is presented by Audacy. Join the Conversation at 303-477-5600 or text to 307-200-8222 Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 6 pm MT. HOUR 1 Hour 1 of Rush To Reason pulls back the curtain on the economic forces quietly reshaping everyday life—from interest rates and housing to global power and artificial intelligence. John Rush and Andy Peth are joined by Jordan Goodman, America's Money Answer Man, for a fast-moving conversation that connects the dots between the Federal Reserve, national debt, and political pressure. What happens when foreign nations lose confidence in U.S. Treasuries—and what does that mean for interest rates, inflation, and housing affordability? The discussion expands into global strategy, examining China's grip on gold, silver, and rare-earth minerals, and whether the U.S. can realistically regain control through projects such as domestic mining and refining. Then the lens shifts to the future: prediction markets outperforming polls, crypto's brutal volatility, and AI's rapid takeover of entire industries. From journalism layoffs to software companies losing relevance, the hour raises an uncomfortable question: Are jobs, institutions, and even governments adapting fast enough? This is a wide-angle look at power, money, and technology colliding… and the consequences most people aren't ready for. HOUR 2 Hour 2 of Rush To Reason dives headfirst into one of the most explosive questions in American politics: is the two-party system broken—or is breaking it exactly what empowers the wrong people? John Rush and Andy Pate are joined by Tom Joseph, founder of America's Main Street Party (https://www.mainstreetparty.org/), who lays out a bold plan to overhaul how candidates are nominated using technology, voter engagement, and a money-free process. Could an “Olympic-style” system finally break the grip of incumbents and party insiders? After Joseph exits, the gloves come off. John and Andy examine why third-party movements may weaken individual liberty by splintering conservatives while collectivists stay unified. From voter psychology to consumer power, free will, faith, and political realism, the conversation challenges assumptions many voters take for granted. The hour closes with a blunt assessment of Colorado politics, the Victor Marks debate, and the uncomfortable truth that few people are actually deciding elections right now. Is principle enough to win—or does strategy decide the future? If you think you understand how power really works, this hour will force you to rethink it. ⏱️ Guest Timestamps * Tom Joseph – America's Main Street Party - 1:10 HOUR 3 Hour 3 of Rush To Reason pulls no punches as John and Andy confront the brutal realities of winning statewide in Colorado. With the gubernatorial field crowded and fractured, they argue that electability—not ideology—will determine the outcome, and they openly assess which Republican candidates have a path forward and which ones quietly help Democrats by splitting the vote. The conversation widens into a blistering critique of Colorado's political landscape, from activist statewide officials to a base that rewards passion over strategy. John and Andy press listeners with a simple but uncomfortable question: how does your candidate actually beat Michael Bennet in the general election? Then the hour takes a sharp turn into healthcare, as they react to calls from National Nurses United to abolish ICE and revisit COVID-era treatment of patients. Can medical professionals remain trusted when activism enters the exam room? A caller underscores the concern, recalling pharmacies that refused to fill doctor-prescribed medications—and the lack of accountability that followed. The hour closes with a hard reset on messaging about property taxes, crime, roads, and homelessness. If candidates can't focus on what hurts voters right now, does anything else matter?

Episode Description:This second installment of “From the Archive” returns to James's early, unfiltered conversation with Tim Ferriss. They unpack how to market by creating newsworthy moments (including a frigid book-launch fiasco turned lesson), how to learn anything using Tim's DISS framework (Deconstruction, Selection, Sequencing, Stakes), and why “possibility is negotiable” when you seek outliers and test assumptions. Tim explains fear-setting, slow-play networking that leads to real mentors, and the origin story of BrainQUICKEN → BodyQuick, including direct-response tactics, offline ads, and early UFC sponsorships. The through-line: run small experiments, protect your best energy, and stack skills to raise your odds. What You'll Learn:How to engineer “newsworthy” launches and recover from execution misses without losing momentum. The DISS method for rapid learning (Deconstruction, Selection, Sequencing, Stakes) you can apply to languages, poker, orFear-setting, not goal-setting: define worst-case scenarios, prevention steps, and recovery plans to make bolder moves.Mentors without asking “be my mentor”: add value first, build loose ties, and let a few relationships compound. From side-hustle to exit: repositioning, channel selection (including print/radio), and why out-of-fashion inventory can be a bargain.Timestamped Chapters:[02:20] A launch-day disaster in 10° weather—and the customer-recovery playbook.[05:00] “Possibility is negotiable” vs. the default “probable” path.[06:57] Finding mentors by learning before earning: the slow-play relationship strategy.[10:00] Optionality: the angel-investing analogy for career and mentors.[14:00] The DISS framework for learning anything.[18:50] Hunt the outliers: why “who shouldn't be good at this—but is?” unlocks technique.[24:30] Fear-setting: risk = likelihood of an irreversible negative outcome.[26:20] Micro-experiments to de-risk big transitions.[27:24] Secret origin: BrainQUICKEN → BodyQuick; from nootropics to non-stimulant pre-workout.[31:55] Repositioning, targeted niches, and early UFC placements.[33:13] Don't ignore “old” channels: print and radio as arbitrage.[33:55] Burnout, one-way ticket to London, and systems that led to a sale.[40:36] Title testing (and red herrings) in publishing.[46:16] The 4-Hour Workweek started by accident [52:14] Publishing myths: how “impossible” ideas become inevitable [01:07:58] TV vs. podcasting: control, constraints, and creative freedom [01:31:34] Investing: bet on people (the beer test + mall test) Additional Resources:Tim Ferriss — official site/podcast hub: tim.blog • The Tim Ferriss ShowThe 4-Hour Workweek (Expanded & Updated): Amazon listingThe 4-Hour Body — official site: fourhourbody.comThe 4-Hour Chef — official site: fourhourchef.comThe 4-Hour Workweek — official site: fourhourworkweek.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this Omni Talk Retail episode, recorded live from NRF 2026, Mike Wier, Vice President of Store Brands at CVS, joins Anne Mezzenga and Chris Walton to discuss how CVS is rethinking private brands as a core growth engine across health, wellness, and everyday convenience. Mike explains what it means to run store brands like a “mini CEO,” overseeing product development, sourcing, branding, and growth across a 9,000-store footprint. With most CVS customers shopping quick, mission-driven trips, the conversation focuses on how simplicity, clarity, and trust at the shelf are shaping CVS's private brand strategy. Looking ahead, Mike outlines his vision for CVS private brands evolving beyond the store, becoming trusted consumer brands that extend outside of CVS's four walls and operate more like modern CPG companies. Repositioning cruises promise incredible value — sometimes half the price of a regular cruise — but after doing several of them (including my recent 18-night Silver Nova Alaska–to–Japan repositioning), I've realised many cruisers board with expectations that are completely misguided. And those myths guarantee disappointment. In this video, I reveal the most widely believed repositioning cruise myths that are 100% wrong — and what these cruises are really like. If you've been thinking of booking a repositioning cruise because they're cheap, relaxing, sunny, or just like regular cruises… this is the video you need to watch before you click "book". Welcome to the first podcast episode of the New Year. Today, I share the prophetic word God gave me for this year, and I do a little bit of teaching and exhortation at the end as well. There are 3 Key Words the Lord uses throughout this prophetic word for 2026. They are Rest, Reset, and Repositioning. They are all "R" words that begin with RE - isn't that just like God? I couldn't have planned that if I tried. However, after recording the podcast and typing up this description, I just realized there is a 4th RE word: Rejoice. I didn't talk much about that word this week, because last week's podcast episode was all about how our weary world be rejoicing. God is definitely on the move in mighty and miraculous ways this year! I pray this word not only blesses you, but also challenges you to seek God and go deeper with Him. One thing I know we need to do in this season is put down deep roots and be planted by the stream of His living water. As always, with any prophetic word. Seek the Lord. Ask Him to reveal more to you and show you what you need to do to align with what He is doing and what He wants accomplished in this New Season. It's almost the 250th anniversary of America's founding. Not only did the Revolution define the fate of the continent, Dr. Richard Bell argues it was a harbinger for the rest of the world. On this episode, we explore how he discovered that, and how that argument can shape our understanding of world events. From the publisher: In this revelatory and enthralling book, award-winning historian Richard Bell reveals the full breadth and depth of America's founding event. The American Revolution was not only the colonies' triumphant liberation from the rule of an overbearing England; it was also a cataclysm that pulled in participants from around the globe and threw the entire world order into chaos. Repositioning the Revolution at the center of an international web, Bell's narrative ranges as far afield as India, Africa, Central America, and Australia. As his lens widens, the “War of Independence” manifests itself as a sprawling struggle that upended the lives of millions of people on every continent and fundamentally transformed the way the world works, disrupting trade, restructuring penal systems, stirring famine, and creating the first global refugee crisis. Bell conveys the impact of these developments at home and abroad by grounding the narrative in the gripping stories of individuals—including women, minorities, and other disenfranchised people. The result is an unforgettable and unexpected work of American history that shifts everything we thought we knew about our creation story. Our other episode with Richard Bell, where we focused on his book, "Stolen," can be found here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/axelbank-reports-history-and-today/id1521053272?i=1000506680498Richard Bell's website can be found at https://www.richard-bell.com/Information on his book can be found at https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/752265/the-american-revolution-and-the-fate-of-the-world-by-richard-bell/AxelbankHistory.com is designed by https://www.ellieclairedesigns.com/Axelbank Reports History and Today" can be found on social media at https://twitter.com/axelbankhistoryhttps://instagram.com/axelbankhistoryhttps://facebook.com/axelbankhistory
