We're beyond thrilled to bring you a new episode in our "Behind The Industry" series. Highly regarded as one of the most influential individuals in the Latin music industry, the power house and dear friend Tomas Cookman is our guest for this edition. This conversation delves deep into stories of the punk era at the legendary CBGB and going on to work with artists like Fabulosos Cadillacs, Aterciopelados and many others, to the creation of Nacional Records and the Latin Alternative Music Conference. While the business side of things is ultra important, he reminds us the need to have fun at the same time!
Amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant and psychic investigator Fran find themselves in the middle of another investigation when a member of a local Morris Dancing side is unfortunately found dead on May Day. Driven in part by her interest in Morris lore and in part by her insatiable appetite for detecting, Libby leaves her comfort zone in Kent and travels to Cornwall. Here she sees the darker side of Morris and its surprising links to Satanism. Back home in Kent, she and Fran begin to unravel the facts behind the murder and the cleverness of a completely unsuspected killer.
Lesley Cookman's best-selling series featuring amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant is back for its fifth instalment! Middle-aged artist-come-investigator Libby Sarjeant can't ever seem to have a quiet moment. Her son, Adam, has uncovered a body within Creekmarsh Place, where he is working as a gardener for TV personality Lewis Osbourne-Walker. The police seem to think there is no connection with the current owner, but Libby, naturally, can't just leave it at that. With her psychic friend Fran's mind on other things, Libby has to go it alone. A murder in London inspires the police to dig deeper, and Libby, determined to help her new friend Lewis, stirs up more trouble.
Lesley Cookman's best-selling series featuring super sleuth Libby Sarjeant is back for its fourth instalment! Nobody wants to be 'a nuisance to a killer', but is it too late? Psychic investigator Fran Castle gets a request from the police to help when a body discovered on a rocky island in the middle of Nethergate Bay thoroughly stumps them. Libby Sarjeant, Fran's sleuthing partner, is on the case too, refusing to abandon Fran to solve the case alone. Together they delve into the shameful world of the exploitation of illegal immigrants. Libby's partner, Ben, is concerned that her occasionally over-enthusiastic investigations might get her into trouble. His worries seem justified as Libby and Fran get on the trail of a war-time fascist spy. No one wants to be 'a nuisance to a killer', and Libby and Fran may have just acquired that dangerous position....
First in a series of 20 murder mysteries featuring middle-aged-actress-come-investigator Libby Sarjeant. There's a baffling mystery in the village of Steeple Martin...but actress and amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant is on the case! Libby Sarjeant, former actress and artist, loves life in the idyllic English countryside. She's busy with her friends preparing a play for the pretty new Oast House Theatre in Steeple Martin when there's suddenly news of a baffling mystery - the murder of a cast member. Written by Libby's friend Peter, the play is based on real events from his family's history, and it seems that these events still cast a long shadow in Steeple Martin. From the Pink Geranium restaurant to the Manor Farm, Libby risks causing a scene as she uncovers secrets hidden in the village. Can Libby, with best friend, Fran, and Sidney, the cat, in tow, find the culprit and get her show on the road? The first book in Lesley Cookman's best-selling series featuring amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant, this cozy crime novel is perfect for fans of Betty Rowlands, Faith Martin, J.R. Ellis, LJ Ross, Miss Marple and Midsummer Murders.
An addictive and pause-resistant crime mystery novel perfect for fans of Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, Faith Martin, J. R. Ellis, L. J. Ross, Miss Marple and Midsummer Murders! Lesley Cookman's best-selling series featuring amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant is back for its third instalment! Can they uncover how the corpses connect? Bella Morleigh was pleased to inherit a derelict theatre, that is until an unknown body is discovered within it.... Luckily for her, her two friends, Libby Sarjeant and psychic investigator Fran Castle, are on the case. Although Libby is rather distracted by the preparations for her friends' civil partnership ceremony, she's at least getting the hang of using a computer to dig for information, something she's certain will be terribly useful in her detecting career. When a second body is discovered, however, it is one of Fran's psychic moments (and none of Libby's computer know-how) that help them discover the surprising link between the two corpses....
An addictive crime mystery audiobook perfect for fans of Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, Faith Martin, J.R. Ellis, LJ Ross, Miss Marple and Midsummer Murders! Lesley Cookman's best-selling series featuring amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant is back for its second instalment. There is something not quite right about the death of her aunt...and psychic investigator Fran Castle is sure of it. The will is missing, and long-lost relatives are obstructing the case, both of which are suspicious on their own, even before the bodies start piling up.... Luckily, nothing is likely to stop Fran's sleuthing partner, Libby, from getting involved to help hunt down the murderer. As the murders multiply and the police take over, can the amateur sleuths keep on the trail?
A new year dawns over the sleepy coastal town of Heronsbourne and brings with it a brand-new case for amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant. When a woman's body is found on the local golf course after an illicit New Year's party, news quickly spreads, and Libby finds herself being tracked down by locals desperate to share information about the victim, Jackie Stapleton. But things are never that simple in Libby's world. Whilst everyone had an opinion on Jackie, it seems nobody really knew much about her. Libby's chum DCI Connell is being more tight-lipped than usual, and even with her friend Fran Wolfe's help, discovering a motive for the killing is frustratingly difficult. Is the murder linked to some distinctly dodgy dealing, a dispute with the local golf club, or something far more sinister - a ghost from Libby's past? Gripping and compulsive, Murder After Midnight is the latest instalment in the much-loved Libby Sarjeant series by Lesley Cookman. Perfect for fans of Faith Martin, J. R. Ellis and LJ Ross.

I was super late getting this one out, so everyone gets to hear the Patreon songs! Also, found poetry! Album of the Week: Lydia Loveless -- Daughter Daughter finds Americana stalwart Loveless at the ebb of significant upheaval: a divorce, a relocation, a cathartic but tumultuous outing of bad practices at her previous label, Bloodshot Records, the reverberations of which are still being felt three years later. But all of that has led to one thing: out with the bad, and in with the good. On Daughter, Loveless is searching for answers amidst a way forward. She’s continuing to explore that sort of disco pop that’s marked her last few releases, though that sense of freedom has also drawn her to explore some back-to-basics Americana with much more sure-footed songwriting. It’s still a Lydia Loveless album, after all, and there are plenty of albums to cry, sip, or smoke along to: whatever it is that helps you feel washed clean after a good bout of searching the bottom of your soul. Johanna Rose -- “A Nite Like This” AND “Only Good” (Only Good Nites) Concetta Abate -- “A Bit of Rain” (Mirror Touch) Lydia Luce -- “Dark River” (Single) Lydia Loveless -- “Wringer” AND “Daughter” (Daughter) Emily Zuzik -- “Stay Wild” AND “Chinese Food and Donuts” (Torch & Trouble)) Phillipa Cookman -- “Greasy Mabel” (Single) Girls on Grass -- “Spill Your Guts” (Spill Your Guts/Who’s Gonna Cry? 7”) Al Holbrook -- “Guru Lover Star” (Rocket Ships For Dreamers) Bonnie Whitmore -- “Fine” AND “Flashes & Cables” (Last Will & Testament) Bison Bone -- “Downtown” AND “Drinking To Do” (Find Your Way Out) Mike West -- “Rock Ferry” (The Next Life) Jensen Sisters -- “Beat of a Bad Habit” AND “On the Fringe” (Yellow Shades) Brendan and the Strangest Ways -- “Anxiety” (Single) Olivia Ellen Lloyd -- “Emily” (Single) Bette Smith -- “I Felt It” (The Good, The Bad, The Bette) Send me music via SubmitHub! 'With fascinating characters and an intriguing plot, this is a real page turner' Katie Fforde Super-sleuth Libby Sarjeant is back with her most puzzling case yet . . . a mysterious death at the local cliffs. Colin Hardcastle has arranged for two men to meet and discuss the sale of a house. But when Nick Nash - the owner of the property - doesn't show, Colin cannot begin to imagine the events he has set in motion. Perplexed, Colin tells his friends in Steeple Martin, piquing the interest of Libby Sarjeant - and the Reverend Patti Pearson, who finds Nash's name strangely familiar . . . Despite her burgeoning reputation as a super-sleuth, Libby is somewhat loath to investigate what seems to be a tragic accident. But when two of Patti's parishioners ask for her help, Libby very quickly finds herself caught up in the mystery. Then Nash's body is found, and things take a darker turn. As the case unravels, biting deeper into the local community, Nash's shocking past is unearthed and it's up to Libby and her friend Fran Wolfe to help solve the case before it's too late... This is an addictive and unputdownable crime mystery novel perfect for fans of Faith Martin, J.R. Ellis and LJ Ross.

Patrick Fasano has over forty years of real estate development experience. It all started in 1974 while he was working at his first restaurant job in New Brunswick. With the savings he earned, Patrick began buying boarded up houses and renovating them. He even rented these single and multi-family homes to the staff that worked alongside him in the restaurant. The owners of the restaurant eventually invested in Mr. Fasano to begin his first business, Reliable Properties. What followed were many successful development projects across the US. Fast forward to 1998 when Pat acquired his first building in Asbury Park on Bangs Avenue. The first floor of this building he donated to the gay & lesbian community, and the 2nd floor was converted into apartments to provide housing for his contracting employees as they began rehabbing more buildings throughout the beachfront city. Over the past 15+ years Mr. Fasano has focused on developments in Asbury Park. In the past decade he built over two hundred condominium units for sale with a market value of over $50 million. Additionally he built a number of commercial spaces and restaurants such as Brando’s, The Asbury Lanes, The Wonder Bar, Plaza Tapatia, The Bond Street Complex, and Passion as well as 12 storefronts on Cookman & Mattison Avenue. We were fortunate enough to catch up with Pat for a live podcast and walking tour of his latest passion location, Atlantic City. Pat literally shouted his love for this City from the streets as we toured his development on the New York Avenue portion of the Orange Loop, home to Bourre, a New Orleans style restaurant, the home of a shipping container style hotel with 40 rooms, and a CBD dispensary along with 12 apartment units that were currently under construction. Pat has a contagious passion for his projects, which is evident in this quick interview. Perhaps most interesting in this episode is Pat's response to the question about the approval process in Atlantic City with respect to his extensive plan on New York Ave. Be on the look out for Part 2 as we look to sit down with Pat in the studio for a more extensive conversation soon!
