Trump's GOP Purge Rolls On as the DNC's 2024 Autopsy Implodes (Audio)

Trump's grip on the Republican Party is no longer theoretical—it's playing out in primaries across the country. Chris and Sean break down a wild week in 2026 politics, from Rep. Thomas Massie's Kentucky primary loss to Brad Raffensperger getting knocked out in Georgia, Trump-backed wins in Indiana state Senate races, and Sen. Bill Cassidy's collapse in Louisiana. What do these races tell us about the modern GOP? Is this just Trump loyalty—or a deeper Republican realignment driven by populism, MAHA, foreign policy, and grassroots frustration with establishment Republicans?  Then the guys turn to Texas, where Trump's endorsement of Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate race against John Cornyn could either seal a MAGA victory—or make the general election much more expensive and unpredictable for Republicans.  Meanwhile, Democrats finally released their long-delayed 2024 election autopsy—and immediately tried to distance themselves from it. The report warns that Democrats lost ground with men, non-college voters, rural voters, and irregular voters, but the DNC's reaction may say even more than the report itself. Are Democrats serious about learning from 2024, or are they still avoiding the hard truths?  Plus, Chris and Sean bring it home to Arizona with the increasingly nasty AZ-01 GOP primary, where Joseph Chaplik's attack on Jay Feely over Feely's work helping Haitian men come to the U.S. sparked a major firestorm in one of the most competitive congressional districts in America.  From Trump endorsements and GOP primary wars to the DNC's messaging crisis and Arizona's toss-up House battleground, this episode of Light Beer Dark Money covers the fights shaping 2026—and the bigger political realignment heading into 2028.  #LightBeerDarkMoney #Trump #GOPPrimary #DNC #2026Midterms #KenPaxton #JohnCornyn #ThomasMassie #BillCassidy #BradRaffensperger #MAHA #ArizonaPolitics #AZ01 #JayFeely #RepublicanPrimary #Democrats #StarWorldwideNetworks #PrattMarketingAgency  Subscribe for weekly conversations on Faith, Freedom & Free Enterprise with Sean Noble and Chris Clements. This week on Breaking Battlegrounds, Chuck Warren and Sam Stone bring together a powerhouse lineup of guests to break down the biggest political, economic, and cultural issues shaping Arizona and the nation. Kicking things off, congressional candidate and former NFL kicker Jay Feely joins the show following a major endorsement from President Trump and backing from national Republicans. He also recently received the NRCC's endorsement as part of a select group of candidates in key battleground districts. With Arizona's 1st Congressional District seen as a key battleground for control of the House, Feely shares what he's hearing from voters on the ground—rising concern over border security, illegal immigration, election integrity, and the economy. Beyond politics, Feely discusses his journey from the NFL to public service and lays out his vision for tackling Washington's spending problem. From cutting waste and fraud to exploring blockchain as a tool for real-time transparency in government spending, he argues that Americans are demanding accountability—and not getting it. He also highlights Arizona's opportunity to lead in AI, data centers, and energy production, making the case for long-term investment in infrastructure to fuel economic growth. See more about Jay Feely's campaign: https://www.jayfeelyforcongress.com/ Economist Richard Salsman joins to take on bigger philosophical questions about capitalism, government intervention, and immigration. He argues that the U.S. has drifted away from true free markets and calls for a return to constitutionally limited government. On immigration, he outlines a more structured, Ellis Island-style system—one that balances opportunity with security and assimilation. See more about Richard's work: https://richardsalsman.com/ Investigative reporter Aaron Sibarium brings a real-world example of government failure, detailing a case in Maryland where a condominium complex was overrun by a homeless encampment while local officials stood by. The result: extensive property damage, displaced residents, and a bureaucratic deadlock that has left homeowners facing financial ruin. See Aaron's latest article here: https://freebeacon.com/america/state-created-danger-condominium-besieged-by-homeless-encampment-heads-to-federal-court-to-take-on-left-wing-county-officials-who-let-it-fester/ The episode also dives into higher education, as Timothy Minella of the Goldwater Institute raises concerns about the growing influence of DEI ideology at Arizona State University's Barrett Honors College. From curriculum shifts to a lack of transparency around course content, the discussion highlights broader questions about trust in institutions and whether students are getting the education they signed up for. See Tim's full story here: https://www.goldwaterinstitute.org/arizonas-honors-colleges-hijacked-by-activist-faculty-to-force-dei-on-students/ Finally, Bess Byers joins to explore the intersection of government, technology, and privacy. From delays and complications in the U.S. Postal Service's electric vehicle rollout to the rapid expansion of surveillance tools like license plate readers, the conversation underscores the risks of unchecked technological growth—and the urgent need for clear safeguards to protect civil liberties. Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four Thursday takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Middle East Tensions Clay Travis and Buck Sexton broadcast live from Washington, D.C., where Clay and Buck share behind-the-scenes insights from their high-level meetings with members of President Donald Trump’s administration. The hour opens with lighthearted anecdotes about fan encounters in Georgetown and a humorous mishap involving Clay being denied entry to a White House meeting due to not having a Real ID. Despite the setback, Clay books former NFL kicker Jay Feely—now a congressional candidate in Arizona—for Hour 2 after a chance sidewalk meeting. The conversation quickly pivots to serious geopolitical developments, with a major focus on escalating tensions in the Middle East. Clay and Buck analyze the Trump administration’s strategic posture toward Iran amid reports of U.S. personnel being evacuated from embassies in the region. They discuss the implications of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) declaration that Iran is violating nuclear non-proliferation agreements—marking the first such ruling in 20 years—and the possibility of an imminent Israeli military strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. President Trump’s firm stance that Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon” is highlighted, along with his administration’s efforts to support Israel while avoiding direct U.S. military involvement. Buck, drawing on his CIA background, and Clay explore the broader regional dynamics, including the Abraham Accords, Saudi-Israeli relations, and Iran’s weakening influence through proxies like Hezbollah and Hamas. They also examine the internal pressures facing the Iranian regime and speculate on whether a successful Israeli strike could destabilize the theocracy and pave the way for a more democratic future in Iran. Jay Feely for AZ Arizona congressional candidate Jay Feely. The former NFL kicker and sports broadcaster shares his journey from the football field to the political arena, emphasizing his commitment to President Donald Trump’s America First agenda. Feely discusses the challenges of campaign fundraising, the importance of border security, and the economic struggles facing young Americans, particularly in high-cost housing markets like Arizona. Feely also weighs in on the controversial topic of transgender athletes in women’s sports, defending fairness and safety for female competitors. He recounts his personal experience coaching girls' soccer and criticizes Simone Biles’ comments about Riley Gaines, highlighting the biological advantages male athletes have in women’s sports. The hour takes a lighter turn as Clay and Buck debate whether Clay could beat WNBA star Angel Reese in a one-on-one basketball game, sparking humorous banter about aging, athleticism, and dad pride. Feely joins in, joking about his own competitive edge and experiences playing with LPGA golfers. NYC Politics The upcoming mayoral race doesn't offer good options. Clay and Buck critique progressive candidate Zohran Mamdani’s past support for replacing police with social workers in high-crime areas, contrasting it with the potential return of Andrew Cuomo. Despite Cuomo’s controversial past, Clay argues he may be the most rational Democrat in the race, sparking debate among listeners. Obedience Training for the Masses The escalating national unrest, immigration enforcement, and cultural flashpoints shaping the political landscape under President Donald Trump. The hour opens with a critical analysis of the ongoing protests and riots across major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York City. Clay and Buck emphasize the distinction between peaceful protests and violent riots, highlighting the media's reluctance to acknowledge the latter. A major focus is on President Trump’s immigration policy, particularly his promise to execute the largest deportation operation in American history. The hosts underscore that this initiative, which prioritizes the removal of violent criminal offenders, aligns with the working-class majority’s support. They also discuss the exploitation of illegal labor by elites and the need for stricter enforcement against employers hiring undocumented workers. 338: What Are 4 Ways That Winemakers Die in Wineries and Why Is It So Dangerous? Caro Feely, Author of Grape Expectations, Has Answers

Unreserved Wine Talk

What makes vine growing and winemaking so physically demanding? What are the hidden dangers of winemaking that most wine lovers never hear about? Why are some winemakers choosing to label their wines as Vin de France rather than follow strict appellation rules? In this episode of the Unreserved Wine Talk podcast, I'm chatting with Caro Feely You can find the wines we discussed at https://www.nataliemaclean.com/winepicks   Giveaway Three of you are going to win a copy of her terrific book, Grape Adventures. To qualify, all you have to do is email me at natalie@nataliemaclean.com and let me know that you've posted a review of the podcast. I'll choose three people randomly from those who contact me. Good luck!   Highlights How did Oprah Winfrey influence Caro and her husband to follow their dream of owning a vineyard in France? What was behind the decision to leave their corporate jobs for winemaking, which was such a different career? Why did Caro choose Bordeaux and Saussignac in particular? What were the main criteria that Caro and her husband sought when choosing a vineyard? Were there any transferable skills from the corporate IT world that were helpful in running a winery? What was the most surprising hurdle Caro and her husband had to overcome to buy their winery? How does Caro handle the tension between making wines she believes in versus what will pass official approvals or market trends? Why did Chateau Feely want to be classified as Vin De France? How physically demanding is winemaking? What are some of the funniest and most surprising animal-related episodes that have happened at the winery?   Key Takeaways As Caro explains it involves heavy machinery, tractors, attaching things to tractors, moving heavy pipes and other equipment around. Even hand picking grapes is a fairly active sport. Removing the vine shoots or suckers at the base of the vine is a big job and backbreaking. They don't want them to grow because they take nutrients from the grapes. Caro says that many wine lovers don't realize how dangerous winemaking is. There are four killers of wine makers. The first one was asphyxiation by CO2. In the fermentation, CO2 is created. If you don't have a way for it to get out of the closed spaces, you're going to get asphyxiated. The second one is falling from height particularly if a little bit of CO2 has escaped and made you a little lightheaded. The next one is machinery, so horrific things like falling into a harvest trailer. Electrocution because you're working with liquids and high electricity. Caro says that almost all of her wines are labelled Vin de France because she felt that so many of the appellation rules were not about the quality of the wine. She wanted to be free of those unnecessary constraints. For example, one biodynamic winemaker got kicked out of the appellation system because he had weeds under his vines. He handpicks his grapes so it actually doesn't matter if they're weeds under the vines. If you machine pick, the machine will kind of suck up the weeds. Caro would much rather have some weeds than have to use synthetic weed killer. Even when it comes to Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé and Premier Grand Cru Classé, some growers got more appellation points for having a parking lot for tour guests than they received for being certified organic.   About Caro Feely Caro Feely is a writer, yoga teacher, wine educator and organic farmer. She leads authentic, personalized and educative wine tours, wine courses, walking tours and yoga retreats near Bordeaux in France. She is a published author, an engaging speaker, a registered Yoga Alliance yoga teacher, a WSET* wine educator, and a professional with many years of workshop, presentation, teaching, and management experience. Caro offers accommodation, tours and yoga at her organic farm in Saussignac.         To learn more, visit https://www.nataliemaclean.com/338.
