Christina Brady is a sales leader, entrepreneur, and the CEO of Luster.ai, a company dedicated to measuring and improving sales proficiency through AI. With 18 years of experience in sales, she is passionate about fixing broken hiring and onboarding processes and enabling professionals to succeed. Christina is also the Chicago Chapter Head of Pavilion and serves on the executive team at Women in Sales. Three Key Quotes from Christina Brady “If you don't measure proficiency, you don't know who you're hiring, how to up-level them, or why they struggle.” “AI isn't here to replace you—it's here to make you better at what you do.” “Founders have ‘magic' because they know the mistakes that have been made and the risks they're willing to take. You can't expect a new hire to replicate that.” In this insightful conversation, Christina Brady discusses why hiring and onboarding in sales are fundamentally broken and how AI can transform proficiency measurement. She also breaks down the “founder magic” that makes transitioning from founder-led to AE-led sales so difficult. This episode is a must-listen for leaders looking to scale effectively. 5 Key Takeaways on Finding Your Catalyst 1. The Hiring Process is Fundamentally Broken Companies often hire without a clear understanding of what makes a candidate successful. The interview process is subjective, leading to mismatches between candidates and roles. Relying on past success (e.g., quota attainment at another company) does not predict future success. 2. Onboarding Needs to Be Personalized and Continuous Most onboarding programs are generic and fail to address individual deficiencies. Employees are often left confused after onboarding, with no clear roadmap for success. The best organizations move from "onboarding" to "everboarding," offering continuous training and development. 3. Measuring Proficiency is the Key to Success Companies struggle because they don't objectively measure proficiency at the skill level. AI tools can now map skills, identify deficiencies, and predict performance gaps before they become issues. Without measurement, companies rely on subjective “gut feelings,” leading to inefficiencies and lost talent. 4. AI is a Tool for Enablement, Not Replacement AI should be used to enhance human capability, not replace it. The right AI tools help sales teams avoid revenue-impacting mistakes before they happen. Leaders must shift their mindset from fear to experimentation when adopting AI. 5. Founder-Led Sales is a Different Game Founders have “magic” because they understand the product deeply and can flexibly adjust deals. Expecting an AE to replicate a founder's selling process is unrealistic. The transition from founder-led to AE-led sales requires a structured process, proper tooling, and realistic expectations. This week, we sit down with Adrian from Luster to dive deep into their creative process and the unique dynamics of the band. We discuss how they manage to blend emotional vulnerability with a sound that's evolved over the years. Highlights Include: The surprising fact that, despite playing shoegaze the most, it's what Adrian listens to the least! The origins of Luster as a "bedroom project," with Adrian and Alvin sending ideas back and forth, allowing the rest of the band to contribute at their own pace. How Adrian and Alvin's friendship began 10+ years ago at California shows, not as childhood friends, but as kindred spirits shaped by a shared culture and humor. Adrian's thoughts on embracing emotion in music, especially within Latin culture, where expressing feelings is often discouraged. Why moving to a small town of just 400 people has given Adrian the peace and space he needs to be creative. Reflections on the band's emo-adjacent sound and how Adrian's emotional experiences influence his lyrics. Plus, Adrian shares stories of growing up listening to everything from Nu Metal to Slayer, and the band tattoos that have left a lasting mark: Morrissey, Unbroken, Psychic TV, and Swans. This episode is filled with honest insights and reflections from a band that started with a simple mission—to play music with friends—and has checked off dream collaborations along the way. Don't miss out on this amazing conversation!

Hey Strangers, #genz #jobs #6figures A new survey release by Indeed and Harris Poll shows that nearly 40% of Gen Z and millennial workers (ages 18-34) said they would leave a job because of political differences at work, and 40% said they would leave if their CEO expressed political views they disagreed with. Overall, 28% of workers would consider resigning over political differences, and 32% might leave if the CEO expressed views they disagreed with, Indeed found. It's rare for everyone in a workplace to share the same political views. Employees who find themselves in the political minority may feel trapped in a toxic work environment if it's not handled properly. The survey found that 39% of respondents experienced social pressure to align with a particular political perspective at work. Additionally, 39% reported instances of discrimination or harassment based on their political beliefs, and nearly 16% admitted to avoiding colleagues who hold different political views. ======================================= My other podcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw ************************************************** Something Strange https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjVc2TZqN4&t=4s ************************************************** article links: https://www.sbam.org/40-of-gen-z-and-millennial-workers-would-quit-a-job-over-political-differences-in-the-workplace/ https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/22/gen-zers-and-millennials-are-increasingly-rejecting-corporate-loyalty.html https://www.businessinsider.com/gen-z-sick-leave-pto-mental-health-work-from-home-2024-8 ====================================== Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discord https://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxq TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoder Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@codingwithstrangers Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangers Twitter https://twitter.com/strangestcoder merch Support CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch. Christina Brady, CEO and co-founder of AI start-up Luster, discusses the challenges in B2B selling and the need for a buyer-centric approach. She highlights the importance of leading indicators and the lack of measurement in sales processes. Brady emphasizes the changing buying behavior of customers and the need for sales teams to adapt. She also introduces Luster, an AI-powered solution that enables salespeople to practice and receive targeted feedback, leading to improved performance and coaching. In this conversation, Christina Brady, CEO of Luster, discusses the importance of practice and continuous improvement in sales. She emphasizes the need for a safe environment for reps to practice and make mistakes without fear of judgment. Brady also highlights the value of senior reps continuing to practice and maintain mastery, rather than becoming complacent. She shares her journey of founding Luster and the challenges she faced in the early stages. Brady attributes her sales success to her background in improv theater, which taught her to think on her feet and build rapport with customers. She also mentions several mentors and leaders who have influenced her career. Takeaways Internal challenges in B2B selling include the reliance on lagging indicators and the lack of leading indicators to measure success. Sales teams often pivot without understanding what is broken or not working, leading to constant changes and lack of measurement. Buyers have always wanted to buy in a way that suits them, and sales processes should be buyer-centric to drive success. The lack of time and tools for training and coaching sales teams hinders their ability to improve and adapt. Lustre provides a solution for salespeople to practice and receive targeted feedback, leading to improved performance and coaching. Creating a safe environment for reps to practice and make mistakes is crucial for their growth and development. Senior reps should continue to practice and maintain mastery to stay at the top of their game. Founding a company comes with challenges, but having a supportive network and mentors can make a significant difference. Skills learned in improv theater, such as thinking on your feet and building rapport, can be valuable in sales. Continuous improvement and a growth mindset are essential for success in sales. So, I met today's guest, Dominique Luster, at a Women's Leadership Retreat in Lake Las Vegas earlier this year. I took Dominique's workshop, Your Mother's Mother's Mother, which I found fascinating. The premise of the workshop was to learn how to start tracing the powerful lineage of the women in our family, so we can better understand our brave roots. Maybe your mother went to college when it wasn't popular, maybe your grandmother or your great-grandmother was a first-time immigrant to the U.S. or another country. Whatever the stories of the women in your family, they start to light a fire of power underneath you, showing you that you, too, can do brave and amazing things. I know that when I started learning more about the women in my family, I was inspired. If you take the time after this show to start tracing your herstory, I'm sure you will be, too. During our conversation, Dominique and I chatted about: What led Dominique to be an archivist and why the work is so important.A piece of poetry Dominique shared from her site, the lustercompany.com.Some tips and tricks Dominique shared to get started tracing our female lineage. Why doing this is important for our personal and professional lives. And how she can help you if you don't know where to start.
