This week on Episode 472 of Priority One --- We ‘Trek Out’ what ViacomCBS has in-store for streaming, “Lower Deck’s” Future - or past, and T-Shirt subscriptions. In Star Trek gaming, the game’s afoot with Sansar’s Roddenberry Museum scavenger hunt, get your tabletop action on with an awesome humble bundle, and Timelines has an update. Of course, as always, before we wrap up the show, we’ll open hailing frequencies for your incoming messages Let us know on social media like Facebook, Twitter, or by visiting our website! This Weeks Community Question Is: CQ: For those of you who will have the opportunity --- how will YOU watch the Thursday Premiere of Lower Decks? With Friends via Zoom? By yourself with a bowl of popcorn and your favorite beverage? And CQ: Who do you think would be a good fit to return in animated form in Star Trek: Lower Decks. TREK IT OUT by Jake Morgan ViacomCBS’ Plans to Rebrand, Expand Move Forward 'What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet'. Or - - that which we call a recently-re-merged-corporation’s over-the-top subscription service by any other name would deliver as enjoyable an entertainment experience at a comparable price point? Okay, so the idiom may not entirely work here… and the iambic pentameter was thrown to wind - but it does Segway very - VERY - poorly into our first story! On Wednesday July 29th ViacomCBS revealed more about their upcoming CBS All Access revamp, and in the process added 70 shows to All Access’ expanding catalogue. President/CEO of ViacomCBS Digital and ViacomCBS’s chief digital officer Marc DeBevoise said of the move ”It’s the first big step to transform All Access into the super-service we’ve been talking about”. Included in the addition are titles from BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, The Smithsonian Channel, VH1, and TV Land - and Paramount Pictures threw in a few movies for good measure. Along with the title roll-out, the CBS All Access’ user interface got an upgrade, and we learned a little more about ViacomCBS’ strategy for the service. On exclusivity and distribution, DeBevoise told ViacomCBS Newsroom “A lot of our competitors are being carried on one platform and not on another. We’re effectively across all the major platforms already. We are everywhere. We have millions of subscribers. We have a service with high engagement”. Translation, they’re more than happy to let you watch Star Trek elsewhere - as long as they’re getting paid. So now the important stuff - what’s this going to cost us? As of right now DeBevoise doesn’t expect an increase with the rebranding roll out, due to hit sometime in 2021! Vague, but good news nonetheless. Lower Decks “Legacy Actors” and Hope for International Viewers Part of the problem with pre-recording a podcast is that - inevitably - important talking points today may turn out to be old news tomorrow. That COULD be the case with our next story - you’ll see what we mean in a minute. On Monday August 3rd, entertainment website Inverse published a sit down with “Star Trek: Lower Decks” show-runner Mike McMahon and star Tawny Newsome to discuss the upcoming series - set to debut on August 6th. The series, which takes place one year after the events of “Star Trek: Nemesis”, would presumably have reference to the Star Trek of that era. When McMahon and Newsome were asked about a possible Newsome/Mariner crossover to “Star Trek: Picard”, McMahon dropped a fully trekked nugget straight into the sauce. ”That’s interesting because we do have legacy actors who show up in the first season of Lower Decks and we have gotten to have a little bit of where are they now sort of vibe through a Lower Decks lens. But I gotta say, if anyone wants Mariner to show up on their live-action Star Treks, you’ve got to have Tawny” So now the time paradox - this news on Friday August 7th may NOT be as great as it was on Tuesday August 4th because on Thursday August 6th one of those Legacy Actors may have already shown up. Or maybe not - Especially if you don’t live in North America. At the time of this writing, there still hasn’t been word on how international viewers will get to watch Trek’s first comedy series. On Friday July 31st, Twitter Tweeter @Nottinghillnerd Tweeted https://twitter.com/NottingHillNerd/status/1289258556319916033 to which showrunner McMahon replied https://twitter.com/MikeMcMahanTM/status/1289279515709997056 So since LAST Friday, there hasn’t been any further news. But there may be after August 4th but before August 7th. I hate temporal mechanics. Lower Decks T-Shirt Club Do you like Trek T-shirts? Subscriptions? Exclusivity? Then “Star Trek: Lower Decks” and Animation Production House and T-shirt Company Titmouse have a deal for you! Behold “the Lower Deckers Shirt Collective Subscription” Announced on Friday July 31st, the subscription service will feature 10 t-shirts - one for every episode of “Lower Decks” - designed by the team at Titmouse. For 180 US Dollars, residents of the United States and Canada will receive all 10 offerings, plus a free members-only eleventh. If you aren’t sure you want that many pieces of wearable Titmouse art, you can order one at a time for 20 US Dollars - but remember, you’ll forfeit the member exclusive. Don’t have the money now but you want the shirts? Well, unfortunately, that may prove to be a problem. To quote the Titmouse website ”When the new episode airs, the previous week's shirt style is GONE. No more. Nuh uh. Byeee. Don't look back. The only way to go now is forward.” In an interview with Star Trek.com to announce the subscription, Titmouse Director Barry Kelly said of the design process ”We try to find that little nugget of an idea that sparks a design. Could be a logo in the episode, could be an iconic shot, or just a random prop in the background could make a funny and iconic shirt.” Star Trek Gaming News by Shane Hoover and Thomas Reynolds Star Trek Timelines: “Legend Unwritten” and the Enterprise Vacation Campaign “As preparations to toast the legendary James T. Kirk get underway, the personal effects gathered to help pay tribute begin to change or disappear! Can you determine what kind of temporal disturbance is causing this before Kirk himself vanishes?” Get ready to party like it’s 2019, 2268 and 2404 at the same time, captains. From August 6th to 10th, Star Trek Timelines is reprising its “Legend Unwritten” Galaxy Event from March of last year for the Federation and Augment factions. This time around, the ranked reward will be the new 5-star EV Suit T’Pol; last week’s ranked reward crew Technician Fisher joins 5-star Captain Harry Kim, 4-star 1701 Jadzia, and 4-star Evil Kirk as the event crew. At least, we’re pretty sure it’s Evil Kirk. None of them are wearing name tags. The official Star Trek Timelines Twitter account also announced the upcoming Enterprise Vacation Campaign, starting August 6th. Although details on the event remain scant, we do know it will feature Enterprise’s Lieutenant Reed and Commander Tucker as we saw in the episode “Two Days and Two Nights”. Probably not all of how much we saw them, though. Consider Yourself Humbled (Bundled) Star Trek may take place in an idealized future, but its gaming franchises continue to recognize the needs of the many today. Until August 19th, Humble Bundle and Modiphius Entertainment are offering a Star Trek Adventures RPG Book Bundle in support of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Purchasing the bundle at the top $15 tier unlocks the Federation core rulebook, expansions, pregenerated adventures, canon character sheets, and even a 50% discount off the core rulebook print edition. As of writing the Bundle has raised $144,510.12 from 9,042 purchases. The Hunt Is On With Roddenberry And Sansar Back in episode 467, we let you know about an upcoming virtual scavenger hunt sponsored by Roddenberry Entertainment, in partnership with Sansar. Well, Captains, the hunt has begun! Since July 28th, Sansar has been dropping regular clues to the mystery on its social media channels. The first clue was “We’re FLOATING with excitement to start off the Roddenberry Recovery Mission” The next clue was “We’ve got brews for you, on this Skyway Avenue.” Then came the clue, “You’ll need to grab yourself a cup of Mokah to get energized!” And, after the weekend break, yesterday’s clue was “After finding this clue, you may need a shower; it sure is a SANDY Sansar day.” To Trek out every day’s clue, just follow Sansar and Roddenberry Entertainment on Twitter. And to track down the missing items, and maybe win an Oculus Rift S VR Headset (among other prizes), head into the worlds of Sansar and follow the trail. You don’t even need VR to play, thanks to a desktop-only PC client option. Good hunting, Captains!
This week Jurek and Earl once again enter the virtual squared circle as they face off in Natsume Championship Wrestling for the Super Nintendo! The game turns out to be the true definition of a button masher! At one point Earl is literally just slapping his controller trying to make his wrestler do something! While the controls leave something to be desired, the music is surprisingly phenomenal! The guys also play a few rounds of "Guess the poorly described wrestler". Come have a drink with us! Cheers! The acronym PFAS is short for Poly- and per- FluoroAlkyl Substances--a diverse class of chemicals including the specific chemicals PFOA and PFOS. It's fortuitous that our interview occured on Friday July 31st 2020, since on the previous day the NYS Department of Health officially established maximum contamination levels (MCLs) for PFOA and PFOS in drinking water at 10 parts per trillion (ppt), each. This week Earl and Jurek strap on their wings and grab their virtual bows as they play Kid Icarus on the NES! The guys end up having some fun with the game, but it's pretty hard to have too much fun when the game is so frustratingly difficult! This game is an oddball in the NES library, as it's one of a few games that actually gets easier as you progress! Despite the difficulty, the game controls great and has a pretty decent soundtrack. Come have a drink with us! Cheers! NOTE: This episode was recorded on Friday July 24, 2020. Thanks for listening, Revelers!

5 mistakes people make going through the 5 phases Welcome! This episode is brought to you by The UnDiet Academy starting August 4th 2020. Learn more about our program here - www.thebodylovesociety.com/undiet Phase 1: The Initial Exit Mistake: They’re starting here and can easily get stuck in consuming INFORMATION but never moving forward with actual transformation. Phase 2: The Diet Mentality Detox Mistake: Still having that tiny voice in the back of their head focusing on weight loss/ weight gain instead of focusing on how their body feels. Phase 3: The Inner Self Work Mistake: Thinking they need to love themselves and their body all the time but really - starting with body neutrality (or staying here) is much more helpful etc - body love isn't about the way your body looks. Phase 4: Embodying Intuitive Eating Mistake: Allowing all food physically but not mentally ALSO - focusing majorly on eating when you’re hungry, “mindful eating”, avoiding emotional/ boredom eating. Phase 5: Wellness without the obsession Mistake: You second guess yourself and think that when your body asks for a salad, veggies, or something considered “healthy,” it means you’re dieting again- you second guess your intuition because you don’t believe you could actually choose the salad because you actually want it - because salad is something you forced yourself to have in the past as a dieter, you’re hesitant if you’re actually transforming your relationship with food or if it’s just a trick. We would love to support you in avoiding these pit falls in The UnDiet Academy which is open right now and closes August 4th. To share a little bit about the program - this is our most comprehensive program that we offer, it is 3 months of going through the 5 phases of undieting with us and a small group of women on the same journey. It includes weekly video lessons and worksheets that get straight to the heart of each phase so that you aren’t wasting your time on anything unnecessary. You will receive daily coaching and support from both of us in the private facebook group for the entire program as well as being able to see the questions that other women ask -- this can often provide some HUGE ah-has from seeing the answers to questions you didnt even think of asking. This group element makes this program stronger than many 1 on 1 options and its also more affordable. Win Win! We are also including weekly live coaching sessions where your personal questions will be answered - you can watch live and interact or you can tune into the replay to get the answers to your questions as we move through this work together. To get more info about the Academy take a look at www.thebodylovesociety.com/undiet We also wanted to let you know about a coupon code we are offering for $100 off until Friday July 31st, the code is undiet2020 - use this with either the pay in full or the payment plan and get the discount instantly.

Spiritual Perfectionism - the over-reliance on actions to feel spiritually justified and ok. Often combined with a hyper-focus on thoughts and feelings. Identifying them as bad thoughts, or "I shouldn't feel this way." Believing that negative thoughts and feelings make you a bad person. Strong feelings that God won't love you or loves you but will punish you. Or feelings that the Universe or Source won't provide for you if you're out of alignment. Many people spend a lifetime striving for spiritual perfection by doing all the right things, saying all the right words, and thinking all the right thoughts. Always denying themselves and restricting everything as if this is the way to connect with the Creator. Your spiritual life, this journey you are on while not without challenges, should not be denial and suffering. If we are to have life and have it more abundantly, then God wants you to have experiences. You should have relationships, people in your life. There should be joy and discovery, learning, and growth. We're talking about the pitfalls of trying to do everything right. Of always feeling guilty, and never enough. And how none of this has anything to do with the beautiful spiritual being you are. Listen in... Starting Monday July 27th through Friday July 31st, I'm hosting a free 5-day workshop called "Blemished & Bad Ass". It is a deep dive into perfectionism, finding your personal core values, living in alignment with those values, and having the courage to make necessary changes in your life. It is completely free...my gift to you and the Universe in these trying times. You can register at Blemished & Bad Ass. Would love to have join this women's collective representing 4 countries! Tonight we remember the life and legacy of two great men who passed just hours from each other on Friday July 17th. Dr. CT Vivian and the Hon. Congressman John Lews both left this world in much better shape than they found it almost 100yrs ago .They both lived during some very tumultous times as Black men in this country in search of equality and justice for all Back people. They both work directly with Dr. Martin Luther King during the Civil Rights Movement, marching and protesting for justice. Even after the movement, both men might have taken different paths but they both continued to strive for equali rigths for all of God's people. We discuss their iconic lives during tonight's show. And, we also share the song "Glory' that the Detroit Youth Choir recently recorded and shot a video for it right here in the City of Detroit. We talk with Gwenolyn Jackson and her mother Hollie as they share their experiences shooting the video and recording the song.. PLUS, we have another dynamic Thought of the Week in store for you as well. Needless to say, we hace a great show in store for you tonight and we defdinitely hope that you join us tonight at 8;m. Get to know my new favorite band: The Aces. Comprised of sisters Alisa and Cristal Ramirez, Katie Henderson, and McKenna Petty, The Aces grew up in Provo, Utah where they started the band in their early teens in Katie’s garage. After one of their moms cold-called a recording agent by finding his number on Google, they signed with Red Bull Records where they released their debut album When My Heart Felt Volcanic in 2018, and later joined 5 Seconds of Summer for their Meet You There Tour. They’ve also gone on their own North American headlining tour, where they performed on Seth Meyer's Late Night Show and SXSW. This May, they announced the release of their second studio album, Under My Influence, which dropped Friday July 17th. In this episode, The Aces and I talk about what it was like to grow up in one of the most conservative Mormon towns in the United States, our everlasting love for Haley Williams, how they’ve set out to re-define the idea of the girl band, and why this new album is a step in a more honest and real direction for the band. Instead of a guest today, I’d like to humbly do my part in honoring the life and legacy of John Lewis. Representative John Lewis died on Friday July 17 at the age of 80 from pancreatic cancer. You will find beautiful tributes to Mr. Lewis, in the recent New York Times article, on a NPR special and throughout social media platforms. Please take the time to learn more about this courageous, devoted man of integrity. I look forward to watching the documentary “John Lewis: Good Trouble”. In addition to John Lewis’ life, which embodied his values and steadfast fight for equality and justice, is the profound impact he had on so many people. Throughout this past weekend, I was so inspired by the countless posts I read on Instagram, from activists and everyday people I truly admire. Some included memories of meeting John Lewis in person, others paid tribute to what John Lewis endured and stood for. In case you don’t follow the same people I follow or if you do and need to hear their words again, I’ll share a few of these posts that touched me. Check out the show notes for links to the documentary about John Lewis, the New York Times article, and all the Instagram accounts of the people I quoted. Over the past several years, I've been following the saga of "Animal Crackers", a new all-star animated film that's finally being released this Friday July 24th. In this fascinating conversation, directors Tony Bancroft and Scott Christian Sava discuss making the fun feature, assembling the tremendous cast, asking for special permission from the band Queen... and how Netflix came-in for the distribution save.

This week Earl and Jurek take to the skies with Fox, Falco, and the gang as they play Star Fox 2 on the Super Nintendo! This is the most recently released SNES game, as it was officially released in 2017! We're still counting it as a retro game because it was developed in the mid 90s! The game turns out to be just ok. Perhaps with a little more time the guys would have liked it better, but the 3D graphics do not age well and the controls are hard to get used to. Come have a drink with us! Cheers! NOTE: This episode was recorded on Friday July 10, 2020. Thanks for listening, Revelers!

(Due to the importance of tonight's premiere, we're re-airing this important program from earlier in the week!) Tim Mahoney, filmmaker of the award-winning Patterns of Evidence series on The Exodus, The Moses Controversy, and The Red Sea Miracle Pt. 1 joins Real Science Radio to discuss tonight's Part 2 conclusion of the extraordinary Exodus trilogy! Good through July 31st! You can get your ticket right now at patternsofevidence.com to view this on your phone, tablet, computer, or large screen TV, at 7 p.m. Central Time, 6 p.m. Mountain Time (and so on). The coronavirus shut down delayed the premiere by two months from May 5th until today, Friday July 17, 2020. And with Mahoney's Thinking Man Films studio just a few miles from where the George Floyd protests erupted, Tim tells Bob Enyart how current events led to a change in the film's ending! And as Mahoney mentioned Egyptologist David Rohl, for more about the archaeoastronomy evidence for the New Chronology, which matches the Bible's chronology, check out rsr.org/exodus#astronomy. * List of Evidence for the Exodus: See also right here on our website our list of archaeological evidence for the Exodus at rsr.org/exodus! Much of our bulleted list comes from the work of Egyptologist David Rohl, filmmaker Tim Mahoney, and Brad Sparks' paper in Israel's Exodus in Transdisciplinary Perspective. Also, find our own contributions to this list such as that the Hebrews gave the word "Pharaoh" to the world! Also, our English word "alphabet" comes from the first two letters of the Hebrew alphabet, aleph and bet. Then think about the etymology of the word Pharaoh which looks back to the term for the palace of Egypt's king. * RSR's Google-based Multi-Creation Site Search: As of today, 2,050 times our custom search tool has saved time for our listeners! There are plenty of theories about what happened to Jodi Huisentruit on June 27, 1995 as she was leaving her apartment complex in Mason City, Iowa. One of those theories deals with a prisoner on death row who is set to be executed tomorrow (Friday July 17, 2020).Dustin Honken is a federal inmate in Indiana. Some believe that Honken may have been involved in Jodi’s disappearance, or at least may have some knowledge of what happened to her.Over the years, the FindJodi team has spent significant time investigating this theory. This episode covers what we’ve been able to learn about it.Thank you for listening to the FindJodi podcast, and keep those emails with questions, comments, and theories coming! Hello friends! As you may have seen on social media this week, we have had to reschedule the recording of this week's Episode on Ghoulies 2 with Paddy Murphy due to Andy picking up an issue with his knee that required treatment. With that in mind, the recording of the Ghoulies 2 episode has been rescheduled and will now be released on Friday July 24th. So, we put our heads together and decided that, rather than leave an empty void, we would put something out and so we bring you a taster of The Irredeemables series. The Irredeemables will be a series which, going forward, will be exclusive to Patreon subscribers in which we look at truly, deeply bad films and try to determine if there's anything to love... We begin with this... The Bye Bye Man! Let us know your thoughts... The synopsis is as follows: People commit unthinkable acts every day. Time and again, we grapple to understand what drives a person to do such terrible things. But what if all of the questions we're asking are wrong? What if the cause of all evil is not a matter of what, but who? When three college friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man, they discover that there is only one way to avoid his curse: don't think it, don't say it. But once the Bye Bye Man gets inside your head, he takes control. Please note that this podcast may contain strong language and even stronger Scottish accents.
