Volgens Gido en Gé heeft Daan overal gemold waar dat kon, zonder zichzelf te opvallend te maken. Juist die combinatie van subtiel en effectief maakt hem voor hen een sterke Mol.Toch zijn er ook kanttekeningen. Gé vond dat het thema “oog in oog met de Mol” er dit seizoen iets te dik bovenop lag, waardoor het aan kracht verloor. Gido was minder te spreken over sommige verborgen aanwijzingen, zoals de plaatsnaamborden op het meer die naar de achternaam van Daan zouden verwijzen, wat voor hem wat gezocht voelde.Uiteindelijk blijft vooral de tevredenheid hangen. De juiste Mol, een logisch geheel en voor Gido en Gé de bevestiging dat hun analyse van begin tot eind klopte.

Het tempo blijft erin, al zorgt dat niet per se voor een aflevering die echt boven zichzelf uitstijgt.Gido en Gé richten zich vervolgens op de tweede opdracht, en juist daar ontstaat de discussie. Vanuit een bus moesten de kandidaten afgevallen deelnemers spotten die langs de route verschenen in opvallende dierenpakken — en dat ging eigenlijk verrassend goed. Ze werden nauwelijks over het hoofd gezien. Maar precies dát maakt het interessant: als alles zo duidelijk zichtbaar is, kon er hier überhaupt wel gemold worden? Of was de invloed van de Mol in deze opdracht simpelweg minimaal? Het roept de vraag op of we hier iets gemist hebben, of dat de Mol zich juist bewust afzijdig hield.Langzaam verschuift het gesprek naar waar alles naartoe werkt: de eindconclusie. Na weken van analyseren, twijfelen en bijstellen vallen de puzzelstukjes steeds meer op hun plek. Gedragingen, keuzes binnen opdrachten en posities in de groep — het lijkt ineens logisch te worden. Voor Gido en Gé is het duidelijk: er blijft uiteindelijk nog maar één naam over die echt past binnen het hele plaatje. Dit… is de Mol.

Tegelijkertijd valt hem iets anders op, deze kandidaat wordt binnen de groep lang niet door iedereen verdacht. Is dat juist een slimme positie, of zegt het helemaal niets?Gé komt vervolgens met een interessante theorie rondom de gift aan de stichting. Volgens hem wist de Mol hier helemaal niets van, waardoor diegene vrijuit kon mollen zonder rekening te hoeven houden met een onverwachte wending. Maar is dat een voordeel voor de Mol, of juist een gemiste kans om het spel subtieler te sturen?

Volgens hem wil de Mol daar juist níet tussen de springers zitten, maar liever op de grond opereren om meer invloed uit te oefenen. Dat inzicht zorgt ervoor dat hij opnieuw twee kandidaten definitief kan afstrepen. Toeval, of precies hoe de Mol het spel naar zijn hand zet?Ook Matteo komt uitgebreid ter sprake na de ‘Freddy Mercury'-opdracht. Waar sommigen hem nog verdachten, zien Gido en Gé juist het tegenovergestelde: dit was zó onmols, dat hij voor hen definitief afvalt als verdachte.

Toch hakken ze een knoop door: ondanks alle chaos en twijfel richten ze hun pijlen vol op één verdachte. Maar zitten ze daarmee eindelijk goed, of trapt juist íedereen in dezelfde val?

Hij blijft trouw aan zijn huidige Mol, maar merkt dat er eigenlijk nóg iemand is die hij net zo verdacht vindt. Twijfel slaat toe: spreidt hij zijn kansen, of kiest hij vol overtuiging voor één verdachte? Gido lijkt ondertussen steeds stelliger te worden in zijn richting.Zitten ze op het juiste spoor, of laten ze zich misleiden door wat de Mol juist wil dat ze zien?

Hoe dan? Gido begint opnieuw te twijfelen. En dan volgt het oordeel. De Mol die we aan de rand van het zwembad zagen is Loes… of Nathan… nee, Loes… of toch Merel? Nee. Nathan. Toch? Geen idee?!

Alleen een knipoog naar het verleden ontbrak, maar ach, daar knijpen de heren graag een oogje voor dicht. Eén ding is zeker: de jacht op de Mol wordt alleen maar spannender.

Zo verwarrend kan dit programma zijn.

Gido blijft overtuigd van zijn Mol, al kunnen de landelijke verdenkingen zijn zekerheid zomaar aan het wankelen brengen. Kortom: de verdenkingen schieten weer alle kanten op, precies zoals het hoort!
