So what happens when a working rock artist steps out of the spotlight and back into the rehearsal room with something real to say? We sit down with Australian rocker Rose Carleo in the Zoom room to talk about the whirlwind since our last chat: the secret-keeping, the exhaustion, the unexpected upside of meeting younger musicians, and why flying the flag for rock still matters. Then we get into the music and the meaning behind it. Rose opens up about writing from lived experience, including how “Daisy's Song” carries a message of hope and the importance of reaching out when you hit rock bottom. We also dig into the story behind the new single “Son Of God,” a tribute to friend Ross Young, son of AC/DC's Malcolm Young. It's a clever title, a heavy riff, and a reminder that some of the best rock songs are built on gratitude, loyalty, and genuine connection rather than hype. From there, it's all road stories and what's next: the Rose Carleo Band's first international tour in Japan, what makes Japanese audiences such dedicated live music fans, and the push to take this momentum across Australia. Rose shares details on upcoming South Australian shows, how to grab tickets, and what to expect from the upcoming album 42 Days, including plans for CD and vinyl and a title track written through loss that ultimately becomes a turning point toward healing. If you love Australian rock, AC/DC history, tour talk, and songwriting that actually means something, hit play now. This week's episode is a very special one… and an emotional one for me. My great friend Joe Pangelinan, a 2-time guest on the podcast (Ep. 219 & Ep. 352), unfortunately passed away last week (April 14th, 2026) after his valiant fight and courageous battle with Stage-IV lung cancer. Therefore, to honor his legacy and life, I am not only resharing one of my favorite conversations with Joe, I share some deep thoughts & lessons in the beginning and end of this episode to make it tremendously personal and special. I've known Joe since 1998. He was there in the early days, and he even helped name my first gym, Fitness Quest 10. He's been a brother to me in every sense of the word. And while this conversation was originally recorded during the fight of his life, what you're about to hear is so much more than a story about cancer—it's about how to live. Joe was originally diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer on December 31st, 2020. What he thought was walking pneumonia turned into a diagnosis that had already spread throughout his body. It didn't make sense. A healthy, vibrant, fit, non-smoker… and yet, there he was, in the fight of his life. But what will hit you most isn't the diagnosis—it's his mindset. This conversation we had is raw, real, and deeply human. You'll laugh. You might cry. And you will absolutely walk away with a renewed sense of gratitude, perspective, and purpose. Here's what you'll learn in this episode: The story behind how Fitness Quest 10 got its name and Joe's role in it A hilarious behind-the-scenes story from Joe's days as a D1 wrestler at Cal Poly, including a run-in with Chuck Liddell Joe's cancer journey and what happened on that life-changing New Year's Eve The emotional rollercoaster after diagnosis—and how he chose to respond What it means to "fight to be on the tail end" and hold onto hope The life lessons Joe learned while staring adversity in the face How a wrestler's mentality shaped his grit, resilience, and refusal to quit The blessings, gratitude, and perspective that defined his final chapter What IMPACT truly means—and the legacy Joe wanted to leave behind This episode is more than a conversation—it's a reminder. A reminder to not live in fear. A reminder to double down on gratitude. A reminder to keep fighting, no matter what battle you're in. Joe's life and legacy will continue to impact me—and I know it will impact you too. Please do me a favor…Hug someone tight this week and don't wait to say, "I'm sorry," "I forgive you" or "I love you." And in honor of Joe's legacy, please share this episode with your following or on your social media. Or share it with anyone who is going through a difficult time right now and needs some perspective on life right now. Hey friends, Chase here This episode is short and direct — and it's built around a question I think most of us care about more than we admit: what actually makes a great friend? Friendship is often treated as something casual. Easy. Automatic. But as life gets fuller — work, family, responsibility, distraction — the quality of our friendships can quietly slip into something surface-level. Not because we don't care, but because we stop being intentional about how we show up. What I've learned is that great friendships aren't defined by history or proximity. They're defined by behavior. Being a great friend isn't about always having the right words or fixing someone's problems. It's about presence. Courage. And a willingness to show up in ways that actually matter — even when it's uncomfortable. Here's the core idea: Great friendships aren't built on convenience — they're built on intention. That intention shows up in a few specific ways. In the courage to be vulnerable instead of polished. In choosing shared growth over staying comfortable. And in offering real, actionable support instead of vague good intentions. One of the biggest differences between casual friends and lifelong ones is the kinds of conversations you're willing to have — and the kinds of moments you're willing to share. Depth doesn't happen by accident. It happens when someone goes first. This episode is about closing that gap. About turning "let me know if you need anything" into actually showing up. About asking better questions. About becoming the kind of friend you'd want to have in your own corner. In today's episode I cover: Why vulnerability is the foundation of real friendship How shared growth experiences deepen connection What it looks like to offer meaningful, specific support If you've been thinking about the people who matter most in your life, this episode is an invitation — not to do more, but to show up differently. And to remember that the strongest friendships are built through small, intentional acts done consistently over time. Until next time, show up with intention — and be the kind of friend you'd want in your own corner.

How Proverbs 21, Inchstones, and God-Centered Friendship Build Real Strength, Open Doors, and Transform Your LeadershipIn this episode, we break down Proverbs 21, godly friendship, and the Inchstones approach to daily wisdom, uncovering why the only way “in” is never through friendship itself—but by becoming the kind of friend God can use. These first two sentences are keyword-rich to help listeners searching for Proverbs 21 meaning, biblical leadership, Christian friendship, spiritual growth, and godly wisdom find exactly what they're looking for.I've learned this the hard way: when I tried to enter rooms through friendship, I was denied… but when I focused on becoming the right kind of friend, God opened every door I didn't even know to knock on. Relationships have torn down walls, shattered barriers, and moved mountains in my life—and maybe that's God's not-so-subtle way of keeping me grateful. Or maybe it's Him showing me—demanding of me—that true greatness is found in being the friend I'm so often searching for.Proverbs 21 flips the script:Stop hunting for the friend who will open doors.Become the friend whose motives please God… and watch Him handle the rest.In this episode, we unpack the traits Proverbs 21 tells us are non-negotiables for a great friend and a great leader:Give God your heart — right motives matter more than sacrifice.Let go of envy, pride, and ego — they don't work. Ever.Choose diligence and patience — they build unstoppable momentum.Speak life — it's an unfair advantage in a negative world.Pursue godly gain — it's more valuable than worldly success.Pay attention — awareness brings wisdom.Be generous — it saves you when you need it most.Do what's right — righteousness brings joy.Honor the future — wisdom sees beyond the moment.Love well — prosperity and honor follow those who lead with love.Strength comes from wisdom — not force.Listen fast, speak slow — the wise reverse the natural impulse.Prepare fully — but remember: the victory is always the Lord's.These traits transform friendships, leadership, business, family… your whole life. But Proverbs 21 closes with a warning: none of them work if you don't spend time with God.This episode will challenge you, stretch you, and give you practical Inchstones—small, quiet, daily moves—that build a life God can use and friendships that change the world. If you're ready to become the friend you've been searching for, this conversation will hit home.If this episode encouraged you, subscribe, review, and share the podcast to help spread the message. All links are right here: https://solo.to/kellycardenas

We start today with some awfully sad news, long time wolfpackers would know our rules guy Stu McPhee, whenever we needed anything clarified, Stu was our go to guy - what he didn't know wasn't worth knowing. Sadly, Stu passed away last week from cancer, and we acknowledge him on the pod today, and our thoughts are with his family at such a difficult time. And then, as Stu would have expected, we get on with the show.Michael had a question about bag maintenance on course, and who drives that - player or caddy - Nick and Mark explain their approaches. Nick tells a great story about playing in the Australian Open without any wet weather guy....was he focused and tough? Or did he just forget to pack wet weather gear? We find out.Question from 'anonymous' on two friends of his who are going to Cypress Point and the Ryder Cup shortly. Anon has two questions, one for Nick and one for Mark. Leads to a chat about AFL theme songs, for international wolfpackers, AFL football clubs in Australia have theme songs and Nicks favourite team has the definitive worst theme song of all. After the turn, a Vietnam update, Nick is there for the week, we find out where he's played since the earlier pod, and where he's playing today. We get some Monty comments - always fun. And then an amazing story from a wolfpacker about crocodiles at Royal Port Moresby Golf Club !!!!!And we wrap with a question from Dean about pace of play, a hot button for Nick and Mark. We're live from Titleist and FootJoy HQ thanks to our great partners:BMW, luxury and comfort for the 19th hole;Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best;Golf Clearance Outlet, they beat everyone's prices;Betr, the fastest and easiest betting app in Australia; And watchMynumbers and Southern Golf Club. Today we are talking about a person who held a special place in our hearts in the las vegas podcast community, As we have lost a fellow Vegas Enthusiast/Blogger/Podcaster/Author but most of all a GREAT FRIEND. So today episode is all about our interactions with the 360Vegas podcast and why we went to the majority of the events held by Mark & crew. How it gave us the idea of starting our very own podcast and why his reaction to it blew me away. Truly 1 of the most genuine person you could meet and over all was never shy about teelling about things things he hated in las vegas lol. The fun stories of tearing up las vegas together in groups of 30 plus people casino hopping non-stop all night long and fun casino stories right along with it from these fun vegas vacation events. Why he shocked me every-time he held an event? Most of all why his passion for las vegas was so infectious and why it got so many like minded strangers to meet up in las vegas and the storiers to go with that will make regret not making it to any of these events held in las vegas. I really hope you enjoy this episode as much as i had fun recalling the fun times had with mark around sin city. Jesus is a good friend, one who reminds John and others of the eternal hope and healing they have in Him by faith. John the Baptist gets high praise from Jesus above all other people, and still as he sits in prison he doubts the Messiah. And it's Jesus' response that is remarkable; He is gentle and patient. The same is true for us in our doubts, that our Great Friend is slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and He hears our doubts and loves us still.

This week I am so excited to share my conversation with childhood friend and mental health advocate, Josh Murphy. Josh and I grew up together, and over the years we have bonded about the importance of therapy. In this episode, Josh talks about how his therapist has helped him navigate some of the toughest challenges in his life, from being a college athlete to navigating the public eye. We also talk about the crucial role that friendships have played in Josh's life. I have always been in awe of the friendships that Josh has, and I'm so happy I had the chance to sit down and learn more about how he has cultivated such strong relationships. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/zoescurletis/support

It's a story that seems unimaginable. Fifty years after the end of our brutal war with Vietnam, the two countries are now good friends, close trading partners, allies in many important ways. How did this remarkable reconciliation occur? What does it mean for the future? Don't miss this engrossing talk with U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, Marc Knapper.“Our current friendship with Vietnam reflects a journey that a Hollywood scriptwriter could not have written.”
