Art by:1) Azor Ahai & Nissa Nissa by Tom Durning (Fantasy Flight Game)2) Daenerys by ayhotte3) Euron by gibilynx Link utili:1) https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/41pm3q/spoilers_all_telling_the_future_from_the_past_the/2) https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/426cy0/spoilers_all_telling_the_future_from_the_past/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=usertext&utm_name=asoiaf&utm_content=t3_41pm3q3) https://sweeticeandfiresunray.com/2019/08/09/mirror-mirror-serwyn-reversed/4) https://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php?/topic/90950-the-last-hero-tale-by-old-nan-foreshadows-the-deaths-of/5) https://lucifermeanslightbringer.com/2019/08/26/the-weirwood-throne/6) https://www.reddit.com/r/pureasoiaf/comments/kr3yvw/spoilers_acok_dany_and_nissa_nissa_symbolism/7) https://www.reddit.com/r/pureasoiaf/comments/6wvfj2/evidence_that_daenerys_will_be/8) https://www.quora.com/How-does-Jon-Snow-fit-the-Azor-Ahai-prophecy/answer/Kelsey-L-Hayes?ch=10&share=2ccfc58b&srid=5inM9) https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/mi6943/spoilers_extended_decoding_the_song_of_ice_fire/10) https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/529ih0/spoilers_extended_euron_greyjoy_the_prince_who/11) https://www.reddit.com/r/pureasoiaf/comments/gcze7m/spoiler_extended_who_really_started_the_long/Supportate il canale in cambio di contenuti esclusivi: https://www.patreon.com/LaCittadellaQui trovate tutti i link del canale e dei suoi host: https://linktr.ee/LaCittadella
The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Davos is imprisoned in the Dragonstone dungeon. He receives a visit from Melisandre, where he learns that she had no role in the disaster on the Blackwater, as well as learns that she believes Stannis is Azor Ahai reborn. Next he welcomes a new cellmate, in the form of Hand of the King Lord Alester Florent. Mackelly and Simon bake some cookies for the newbie on the block.Chapter Review:Davos Seaworth finds himself in the dungeon of Dragonstone. It's dark and dank but at least it's warm. His illness from his time on the little island in Blackwater Bay has gotten worse. However, just when Davos thinks he'll soon die, Maester Pylos nurses him back to health.Melisandre pays him a visit. The Red Woman tells Davos that there is a war that has raged on since the dawn of time. A war between R'hllor and The Great Other. She also divulges that Stannis Baratheon is the Chosen One of R'hllor. He is Azor Ahai reborn. She saw it in her flames. Davos asks why she didn't save them from the flames on the Blackwater, if she can see the future? She explains that Stannis' faith was weak, and he left her at home. If she'd been there the outcome of the battle would've been different. Three days later, Davos gets a new cellmate. It's Stannis' Hand of the King Alester Florent. He's here for the crime of trying to broker a peace deal with the Lannisters, without the knowledge of King Stannis. His plan was for Stannis to recant his claims of Lannister incest and bend the knee to Joffery Baratheon. In response, the Lannisters will name Stannis lord of Dragonstone and Storm's End. To seal the deal, Shireen Baratheon and Tommen Lannister will marry. Davos can see the flaw in this plan. Stannis would never agree to any of it.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Davos Seaworth - The Onion Knight. Former Smuggler, now close advisor to King Stannis Baratheon.Stannis Baratheon - Lord of Dragonstone, rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms.Melisandre - Red priestess of R'hllor. With Melisandre as our guide, we'll be able to unlock the all-important, Azor-Ahai-centric secrets of the shadowbinders and R'hllorists, and figure out why Jon and Dany are both being advised by shadowbinders. The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
On Dragonstone, Davos watches Melisandre burn the gods of The Seven. He has a drink with pirate Salladhor Saan. He meets with King Stannis and is commissioned to go spread the word of Stannis' rightful claim to the people of Westeros. Simon and Mackelly consider converting. Chapter Review: Melisandre reveals the prophecy of Azor Ahai and his flaming sword Lighhtbringer, from the time of heroes. She tells that Stannis is the embodiment of the fabled hero and he withdraws a flaming sword from the burning effigies of the seven false gods of Westeros. Davos is impressed by Melisandre's powers, but concerned by Stannis' willingness to alienate what few allies they have. Davos has a pint with Salladhor Saan, a Lysene pirate. He brings news of the wars on the mainland and demands that they attack King's Landing while it is vulnerable. Saan also has a very negative view of the whole Azor Ahai thing - he, Azor Ahai, murdered his wife to make his sword, not exactly an inspiring antecedent for Stannis to emulate. Davos meets with Stannis. The king wants his smuggler to sail to every port in Westeros with news of Joffrey's parentage and Stannis' rightful claim. Davos doubts that they have the proof, but Stannis reminds him of Edric Storm - Robert's recognized bastard son at Storm's End. Stannis bemoans that he is in the right, but has the least gold and men of the various claimants. He notes that his only assets are his navy and Melisandre. Characters/Places/Names/Events: Stannis Baratheon - (Arguably) The rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms. Elder brother of Renly Baratheon. Husband to Selyse. Father of Shireen. Melisandre - The Red Woman of Ashaii. Priestess of R'Hellor, the Lord of Light. Advisor to King Stannis. Selyse (Florent) Baratheon - Wife of Stannis Baratheon, (arguably) rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Mother of Shireen. Ser Davos Seaworth - The Onion Knight. Advisor to King Stannis Baratheon. Maester Pylos - Young maester, sent to Dargonstone to replace the frail Maester Cresson. Maester Cresson - 80 year-old maester of Dragonstone. Long-time servant of the Baratheon family. Robb Stark - Eldest son of Eddard (Ned) and Catelyn (Cat) Stark. Crowned King in the North after his victory at Riverrun. Eddard "Ned" Stark - Erstwhile hand of the King, Lord of Winterfell, and deceased King Robert's closest friend. Beheaded for treason by order of King Joffrey Baratheon. Renly Baratheon - Robert and Stannis' youngest brother. Lord of Storm's End. Husband to Margery Tyrell. Claimant to the Iron Throne. Joffrey Baratheon - King of the Seven Kingdoms, as son of the former King Robert. Known to be the bastard son of his mother Cersei and her twin Jamie Lannister. Salladhor Saan - Pirate prince of the Narrow Sea. Former accomplice of Davos Seaworth's smuggling. Now recruited to King Stannis' cause. A god-king born from the graves a charnel pits. The most horrifying, twisted version of Azor Ahai reborn imaginable. The usher and the ruler of a new age of darkness. The third head of the dragon. A new Night's King. Euron Greyjoy may be all these things and more.
Were Azor Ahai and Night's King the same person? The symbolism of Stannis Baratheon and Jon Snow tell the story. Val is in this one too :)
The Azor Ahai myth is moral relativism test for the reader - one which Dave and Dan failed. See why a deeper look at this all-important legend dictates that George R. R. Martin is *not* steering his books towards a similar ending.
How do the legends of Azor Ahai and Lightbringer, which are from Asshai and the Further East, connect to Westeros, Dawn, the last hero and his dragonsteel, the Night's Watch, and the War for the Dawn? Are any Westerosi Houses descended from the Great Empire of the Dawn? (hint: yes) It's all here...

To begin to penetrate the shroud of mystery around the legend of Night's King, we will use the familiar method of examining characters which seem to echo his archetype - Stannis Baratheon, Jon Snow, and Euron Crow's Eye. Stunningly, all of these characters also demonstrate clear Azor Ahai reborn symbolism - and I believe that is because Night's King was either Azor Ahai, or his son or brother. A blood of the dragon person. Contents include nightmare visions, Others wordplay, Warlock Wine, a dragon-on-dragon battle, all of Euron's symbolism, and tons of fodder for JonValJon shippers. Music by John Walsh, voice acting by Martin Lewis.

On this week's episode of MULTIMEDIOCRITY, Doofin and Talley fawn over the first half of Game of Thrones' exhilarating seventh season, and look forward to what prophecies have yet to be fulfilled... and by whom. Their freeform conversation takes them everywhere: from the merits of Kate and Rooney Mara to David Fincher's stellar filmography, from the new season of HBO's Hard Knocks to the kickain-fueled decisions made by '80s filmmakers and musicians. Doofin also recounts catching a revival screening of EXPLORERS and a harrowing experience at the clinic, while Talley threatens to blow up all round earth deniers before being reminded that mass murder is, in fact, wrong. Come for the defense of good-bad movie sequels like GREASE 2 and GREMLINS 2: The New Batch, stay for the discussion on what constitutes "Yacht Rock." The guys double down (You always double down on 11) on this spirited installment, heard exclusively on the State Lines Network! "And you never once paid for drugs! Not once."

Martin.
Stimulated Boredom | Reviews. Gadgets. Gaming. Geek Culture. Podcast.
The second episode, Stormborn, kicked the door down with swift elaboration on Azor Ahai. Wut? That’s the Song of Fire and Ice’s version of Jesus that is going to send the Night King and his army of the dead to somewhere very, very warm. This is huge in the theory land of book fandom, like R+L = J big. At some point soon, Dany and John will meet. Fangirl hearts are pitter pattering everywhere, this episode of the podcast included. Just as high as the episode takes us, it also thoroughly grosses us out. Thanks again Citadel and your witchy ways. Then when you think you’re going to vomit, it washes you over with joy and sorrow when we see Nymeria again. Yes. That’s her. We frequently imagine that we have somehow built up a tolerance to the reckless highs and lows to Game of Thrones, and that’s the narrative’s magic if there ever was one – because we haven’t. Now it’s time to listen to us get all up in our feelings about all these things, too: Verys and Dany confrontation Red Priestess and her dangerous prophecy Jaime & Tarly Balerion the Dread, Cersei and her mad scientist Olenna and clever men Greyworm & Missendai 4eva ARYA KNOWS ABOUT JON! AND SHE WENT HOME! Greyscale is gross AF Sansa is finally queen, but somehow, we end up down one Fucking Theon As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments section and we will discuss on the next podcast.

In the first episode of Mythical Astronomy, we learned that NIssa Nissa correlates to the moon which was slain by the comet. That's why we call her a moon maiden, and the same goes for all the characters who play the role of Nissa Nissa - they are all types of moon maidens. Now, as we track Azor Ahai through the weirwood forest, we've come upon a new revelation about Nissa Nissa - she's also a weirwood tree maiden. A weirwood goddess, even. Azor Ahai wed Nissa Nissa, and I think he 'wed the trees' too - and these two events might be related to one another, or even be part of the same thing... This episode is for all the ladies and goddesses and fairies and tree nymphs of the land, so guys, put that Lightbringer away for a second and instead... feed yourself to the tree. She's ever-hungry. Vocal performances by Martin Lewis of the Echoes of Ice and Fire Blog and Lady Nightwind. Theme music by John Walsh. Matching text at lucifermeanslightbringer.com
The alternate title for this episode could be "Azor Ahai goes into the weirwoodnet," because that's essentially the topic. Of course, when we say "Azor Ahai" in this sense, we are talking about the group or tribe of horned lords of which Azor Ahai seems to have been a part. We've been picking up hints about Garth people or horned lords being trapped inside the weirwoodnet, and we are going to figure out just exactly what that means. We will be attempting to answer one of those old questions of ASOIAF: whose faces are those on the heart trees? We will also get closet to discerning just what the connection between the meteors and the weirwoods. The matching text to this podcast can be found here. Thanks to Animals as leaders for their music, Martin Lewis and the Amethysts koala for their vocal acting.

Venus-based mythology is perhaps some of the most important world mythology to know if you want to understand A Song of Ice and Fire. George has drawn upon it in creating the Night's Watch, House Dayne and the Sword Dawn, and of course, Lightbringer, as well as a few other things. 'Lucifer' is the Latin word for the planet Venus when it appears as the Morningstar - the bright star which appears in the east just before sunrise and heralds the break of day. The word Lucifer also translates to "light-bringer," "dawn-bringer," and "son of the morning." Calling Azor Ahai's famous sword "Lightbringer" directly equates it with Venus, and indeed, heralding the end of the Long Night is what Lightbringer is supposed to do. But due to interesting celestial mechanics, Venus also takes a turn as the Evenstar - the bright star that appears in the west at sunset and heralds the nightfall. This is what our theorizing has told us about Azor Ahai - he's actually the dude who brought on the Long Night. In an interesting parallel, the Bible names both Jesus and Lucifer as the Morningstar. All of this mythology is expressing the dual nature of the planet Venus, and that's what we'll explore in this podcast. As usual, the matching text is available on lucifermeanslightbringer.com
Woof, woof! Join Natalie and Stu as they discuss the return of the Big Dawg himself - alongside veteran awesome guy Ian McShane. There's rejoicing in the kickass babeness of Lady Olenna and Lady Mormont, a Magical Mystery tour of the North, Margaery being told to lie back and think of Highgarden, and Jaime and Bronn in a stew at the siege of Riverrun. Also at some point Nat & Stu diverge into chatter about the superiority of 80s/90s cartoons, and how the kids these days will never understand. There's also more crackpot Azor Ahai theorising from Smart Enough to Know Better's own Greg Wah.
Our first character-centric breakdown takes up the theory that Tyrion is a Targaryen bastard by examining two of his symbolic personas - the gargoyle and the twisted monkey demon. We'll dive into mysteries such as "why are Dragonstone and Winterfell the only two castles with gargoyles on them?" and "Is there a connection between the Last Hero and Azor Ahai?" We'll also ponder one of the first examples of mythical astronomy in the books, Bran's fall from the tower. Featuring the vocal talent of Paige Lawrence & Lady Nightwind. In this episode, we are going to explain: moon blood and a maiden's flowering; Oathkeeper's waves of night and blood; Melisandre's black and bloody tide, Jon Snow's rivers of black ice and Drogo's oily river of darkness; starry cloaks and decapitated bulls; dragon eclipses, lunar eclipses, and solar eclipses; dark stars and black hole moons; black iron roses and black iron ravens. We'll also ponder the possibility of an undead Azor Ahai and his army of zombies, not to mention undead Night's Watch brothers. We'll wave hello to gods and goddesses and get some blood on our hands. The legend of Azor Ahai says that he cracked the moon when he forged Lightbringer. Does this make Azor Ahai "the bad guy?" He stabbed his wife too, and to work blood magic. Is blood magic heroic, or abomination? And what's with this Bloodstone Emperor guy, who worshiped a black meteor during the Long Night? Is there a link between this black meteor, the meteors of the moon explosion, and the greasy black stone? And what does this tell us about the nature of Lightbringer? Follow along with the text of the episode at https://lucifermeanslightbringer.com/2016/01/04/thebloodstoneemperorazorahai/
What was the cause of the Long Night? Who was Azor Ahai, and what was Lightbringer? What is the meaning of the relationship between comets, dragons, and flaming swords?
