Academy-award winning director David Marsh (Man on Wire) takes viewers on cinematic journey through the life of literary genius Samuel Beckett. DANCE FIRST highlights his lived life of many parts: Parisian bon vivant, WWII Resistance fighter, Nobel Prize-winning playwright, philandering husband, recluse. But despite all the adulation that came his, way he was a man acutely aware of his own failings. Titled after Beckett's famous ethos "Dance first, think later," The film is a sweeping account of the life of this 20th-century icon. It focuses on his relationships with the people he loved and who loved him back, but who he felt that he had wronged. Director David Marsh (The Theory of Everything) joins us for a conversation on why he chose to dive into the life of a notoriously private man, working with screenwriter Neil Forsyth, their decision to frame the various chapters of Beckett's life from the perspective of his”mistakes”, using a black and white format in filming the story and finally assembling a terrific cast includes; Fionn O'Shea, Sandrine Bonnaire, Leonie Lojkine, Bronagh Gallagher, Grainne Good, Robert Aramayo, Maxine Peake, and Aidan Gillen as James Joyce. I think that team TOTLB is a big time fan of anything involving aliens. Sometimes even if we know that it might not be the most entertaining project. BUT, today's episode is definitely entertaining. The only problem with this show, and what I personally think might have been it's downfall, is that it's on the History Channel! We're talking about, Project Blue Book! "Project Blue Book was an American historical drama television series that premiered on History on January 8, 2019. The main role of Dr. J. Allen Hynek is played by Aidan Gillen, and the first season consisted of ten episodes. The series is based on the real-life Project Blue Book, a series of studies on unidentified flying objects conducted by the United States Air Force." Right before we recorded, but after we watched, we learned that this show was cancelled. This series was very good for what it was, and deserved more than what the History Channel could offer such a show. If you haven't watched it, you definitely need to give it a try, if you're into alieny type of shows! SUBSCRIBE: Apple Podcasts | Android |  Spotify | Pandora | RSS Tell us what you think! An episode planned before the first one was ever recorded, Diana nervously brings her pick Circle of Friends (1995). A good portion of her history with the movie is being unavailable to watch it during her entire career as a podcaster. This was finally resolved thanks to a shiny Blu-Ray arriving on her doorstep from the lovely (and all-star friend of the show) Meg. Despite being unfamiliar with the film, Ryan is quick to understand why it had a lasting impact on his wife. Three women, who've been friends since childhood, meet at university in Dublin in 1957. Student and boyfriend life begins. Stars Minnie Driver, Chris O'Donnell, Geraldine O'Rawe, Saffron Burrows, Alan Cumming, Colin Firth, Aidan Gillen, and Ciarán Hinds. The 738am podcast - talking to people about stuff

No doubt many of you who are into podcasts are well aware of Jarlath Regan. His show 'An Irishman abroad' hit the ground running when his first episode topped the iTunes charts, and since then he's gone from strength to strength, interviewing people like Boy George, Niall Quinn, Aidan Gillen and loads more. Jarlath was in town last week for the Vodafone Comedy Festival where he recorded his latest shows (a two parter with Tommy Tiernan), and he was kind enough to come to the Castaway studios for a good chat about his life as a stand-up comedian and as a podcaster – roles that he views as quite separate from each other. We discuss why he moved into the world of comedy after a career in graphic design didn't fulfill him, how and why he started the podcast, his process in preparing for interviews, and loads more. If you're a podcast junkie, this is going to be one you'll really enjoy. You can find Jarlath on Twitter @Jarlath and you can subscribe to An Irishman Abroad on iTunes. As ever, hope you enjoy the show. If you like it, a rating or a review (or both!) on iTunes would be greatly appreciated.
