Viele Künstler, insbesondere Musiker, denken: "Ich bin richtig gut. Chapter 9: Dedicated to my team In this final episode of The First 17 Years, Tiffany introduces you to three key members of her executive team: Sarah Riggio, Darren Halbig, and Danielle Falconer. Darren Halbig is, at his core, an artist. He's a designer by trade, and a massively creative individual. When he stepped into a leadership role at Element Three, he reached a boiling point—he had to give up design in order to prioritize leading his 25-person team. So..was it worth it? In this candid conversation, Joe and Reid connect the dots between Darren's parents fostering 70 to 100 children and Darren fostering growth in his colleagues. Finally, they contrast Darren and Tiffany Sauder's perspectives on growth, from our previous episode, and follow a new lede for our next conversation..

According to the EPA: “Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of [anthropogenic] chemicals that includes PFOA, PFOS, GenX, and many other chemicals. PFAS have been manufactured and used in a variety of industries around the globe, including in the United States since the 1940s. [These] chemicals are very persistent in the environment and in the human body – meaning they don’t break down and they can accumulate over time. There is evidence that exposure to PFAS can lead to adverse human health effects. PFAS can be found in: - Food packaged in PFAS-containing materials, processed with equipment that used PFAS, or grown in PFAS-contaminated soil or water. - Commercial household products, including stain- and water-repellent fabrics, nonstick products (e.g., Teflon), polishes, waxes, paints, cleaning products, and fire-fighting foams (a major source of groundwater contamination at airports and military bases where firefighting training occurs). - Workplace, including production facilities or industries (e.g., chrome plating, electronics manufacturing or oil recovery) that use PFAS. - Drinking water, typically localized and associated with a specific facility (e.g., manufacturer, landfill, wastewater treatment plant, firefighter training facility). - Living organisms, including fish, animals and humans, where PFAS have the ability to build up and persist over time. …Although PFOA and PFOS are no longer manufactured in the U.S., they are still produced internationally and can be imported in consumer goods such as carpet, leather and apparel, textiles, paper and packaging, coatings, rubber and plastics.” Learn more at https://www.epa.gov/pfas/basic-information-pfas On Truth to Power each week, we gather Forward Radio programmers and friends to discuss the state of the world, the nation, the state, and the city! Join host, Greg Carlwood, as he talked Sandy Hook, Capstone Events, and The Coming Lawsuit, with Wolfgang Halbig. Folks, we have seen many strange and sad events since 9/11 that seem to fit the template of a false flag, but even more strange is the suggestion of a “full blown simulation” in some of the active shooter situations we've been shown by the media. Of these events, there is none more divisive and irregular than the events at Sandy Hook Elementary on December 14th, 2012. And when you start looking into the details, you find so many holes and irregularities, that you're forced to wrestle with conclusion that this event was more stagecraft than shooting. Of course I'm no expert, but luckily folks, today we do have one in our midst, by the name of Wolfgang Halbig, and I can think of no one more qualified to give there analysis of a school shooting than him. Mr. Halbig is the former Executive Director of the National Institute for School and Workplace Safety. He has worked in public education as a teacher, Dean, Assistant Principal, Principal, and even Director. He's also held the title as Director For School Safety & Security of the Seminole Country Public School System, a school district of approximately 65,000 students. Mr. Halbig also has law enforcement experience as a former Florida State Trooper in Miami, FL, and as a United States Customs Inspector. That is no small resume, and when his job has been to prepare schools and public places for exactly these types of situations, I think we owe it to him to listen. Unfortunately, in the years since, Wolfgang has had his life turned upside down, and his family threatened just for asking basic questions, seeking out records, and looking for explanations to why traditional protocols he's professionally familiar with were not followed. Now we have him here at a very crucial time, hot off the heels of our good friend Marty Leed's documentary about the situation entitled Dear Wolfgang- and just as he's preparing for the culmination of his ongoing legal battle- as he's currently being sued by Lenard Posner, the supposed parent of Noah Posner. One of the alleged victims at Sandy Hook. 02:50 Wolfgang starts by expanding on his credentials and why his expertise shouldn't be dismissed. 12:48 Wolfgang explains how unreasonable it is to believe that Adam Lanza acted alone, given what he knows about the supposed weapons involved. 29:40 Wolfgang describes a “capstone event” and explains why that might be what we're looking at in the Sandy Hook saga. 40:29 Wolfgang talks about his relationship with the Alex Jones Show, and his disappointment with their 180 on the Sand y Hook issue. Wolfgang's trial starts Nov 7th. Cato’s president will examine the threat posed by the proliferation of statist ideas, as well as ways to increase public understanding of the merits of individual liberty and limited government.Next, Michael Cannon will discuss the important Halbig v. Burwell decision—a ruling that could lead to the ultimate repeal of Obamacare. In the landmark decision, the D.C. Circuit ruled the president has no authority to tax, borrow, and spend tens of billions of dollars to mask from consumers in 36 states the true cost of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act's overpriced health insurance. If the court's ruling stands, millions of Americans will feel the full cost of their Obamacare coverage and will demand thatCongress reopen and possibly repeal the law. Finally, David Boaz will discuss the future for freedom in America. From the rapid rise to prominence of first-term Senator Rand Paul to the state-level movements to legalize gay marriage and marijuana, the philosophy of fiscal conservatism, social liberalism, and restrained foreign policy seems to be gaining currency in American politics. In light of recent setbacks for individual liberty, Cato’s executive vice president will discuss how we can get back on the path to freedom, free markets, limited government, and peace at this auspicious "libertarian moment." Confused by all the talk around Halbig v. Burwell? Rumors abound that this case represents the next big legal challenge to Obamacare, but how do we know it's not just hype surrounding a technicality, as the law's supporters suggest? In Halbig, an IRS interpretation of Obamacare – dubious, but crucial to the law's implementation – was rejected by the courts as an unlawful use of administrative authority. The underlying concern is the ongoing revival of extralegal executive powers – akin to the "Royal Prerogative" of yore – under the banner of "Administrative Law." If the Halbig decision stands, it would represent at least a small win against the growth of executive power. But health care isn't the only area where increasingly absolute executive authority is eroding the checks and balances of our constitutional government. Columbia Law Professor Philip Hamburger will join the show to clear up the confusion, and to reveal the long historical struggle to constrain extralegal power as told in his fascinating new book, Is Administrative Law Unlawful?

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act says its exchange subsidies, employer-mandate tax, and (to a large extent) its individual-mandate tax may be implemented only "through an Exchange established by the State." Since January, however, the IRS has been implementing those provisions (save the delay of the employer mandate) in the 36 states with exchanges established by the federal government. Four lawsuits have been filed so far challenging the IRS's actions. On July 22, the D.C. Circuit ruled in Halbig v. Burwell that the IRS has no such authority — in essence, that the Obama administration is violating the law by taxing, borrowing, and spending tens of billions of dollars to encourage people to enroll in ObamaCare. On the same day, the Fourth Circuit issued a conflicting ruling in King v. Burwell, which the plaintiffs have appealed to the Supreme Court. Two scholars who laid the groundwork for these lawsuits will explain what the two courts said, what happens next, and what Halbig and King mean for the nation. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals—known as the second-highest court in the land—has ruled in the case Halbig v. Burwell that the IRS regulation authorizing tax credits in federal exchanges was invalid. But at the center of the Halbig ruling is checking presidential power. President Obama, like an autocrat, thought he could levy taxes on his own authority. The decision also shows that the Affordable Care Act does not work as promised. Could this lead to the collapse of Obamacare? What’s the next step in the effort to replace the ACA with a free-market alternative? Cato scholar Michael Cannon—along with law professor Jonathan Adler—first drew attention to this issue in August 2011 and has been called the “intellectual father” of Halbig. Michael will update Cato Sponsors on the latest developments, chart the next move, and take your questions.Recommended Reading:"Reining in ObamaCare — and the President," by Michael F. In Halbig v. Sebelius, four individual taxpayers and three employers are challenging a seemingly obscure IRS decree. The IRS claims the authority to issue hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies to health-insurance companies, and to impose penalties on individual taxpayers and employers, in the 33 states that have refused to establish a health insurance "exchange" under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). The Halbig plaintiffs assert this decree would penalize them in violation of the clear, consistent, and unambiguous language of the PPACA, as well as congressional intent. The Congressional Research Service writes that Halbig "could be a major obstacle to the implementation of the Act." Law professor Michael Greve writes, "all of ObamaCare hangs on the outcome." The lead attorney in Halbig, Michael Carvin, and three other panelists will discuss the legality of the IRS's decree and the implications for the PPACA.
