Rabbi Jacobson will discuss the following topics: Chassidus applied to this time of year Why are these days between Yom Kippur and Sukkos so powerful? What is the lesson from these days? Why is the day after Yom Kippur called “G-d's Name”? What is the proper way to greet people during these days? What is the significance of new year and holiday blessings? How do our blessings and best wishes help? Can we bless others with the priestly blessing even if we are not kohanim? Though I am a simple person, can I bless others? Is it appropriate to bless people with “may you always have good news to share”? Post Yom Kippur If everyone was forgiven on Yom Kippur, why are some people being punished and suffering? Why do we sound the shofar at the end of Yom Kippur? What's the difference between a regular shofar and the “great shofar” that will be sounded when Moshiach comes? Is there a connection between the call of the “great shofar” and Yom Kippur's impact on all Jews to do teshuva? Why do we sing Napoleons March at the end of Yom Kippur and not at the beginning? Why Napoleon's March when the Alter Rebbe was so opposed to him? Why is Yom Kippur exclusively a day of repentance when a person should be repenting every day? To what extent can Yom Kippur help a person who hasn't repented all year? Why did G-d send Jonah to a non-Jewish city and encourage them to repent? How can Sukkos help us in this time of war in Israel? What is the essential message of Sukkos? How does the Sukkah help us internalize the light of Yom Kippur? Why is Sukkos a time of great celebration? What is the difference between Sukkah and the four species? Are the four species spiritual weapons? How can we maximize the blessings of the Sukkah considering that it is the only mitzvah that encompasses our entire bodies? If the sechach represents the clouds of glory that protected us in the wilderness, why didn't it provide protection on October 7th? Why was pouring water during Simchas Beis HaShoeivah considered such a joyous event? How did the Rebbe revitalize this celebration? And why in the streets? War in Israel What more can we do? Is it appropriate to invoke in a note to the Rebbe the merit of his mother to have the hostages released? What is the background behind the Poalei Tzedek group, established in the town of Lubavitch, who would wake up early every morning to say Tehillim and learn Torah together, and should we recreate that today?

Welcome to Top of the Morning by Mint, your weekday newscast that brings you five major stories from the world of business. It's Thursday, October 3, 2024. My name is Nelson John. Let's get started. We might be on the verge of world war three, as Iran's recent airstrikes on Israel underscore Tehran's readiness to confront any perceived threat. Shweta Singh explains why the situation could escalate, and how the US is involved in the mess. Shweta also explains the implications of this development on India, including how it could affect trade, and helps you understand the complex geopolitical dynamics at play. In a move to slash legal costs, the Indian government is setting the stage for a new national litigation policy, targeting cases where government entities end up suing each other. With this step, the law ministry aims to curb the financial drain caused by such disputes, particularly among public sector undertakings, Dhirendra Kumar reports. The initiative targets disputes like tender disagreements between PSUs, which not only incur substantial legal costs but also burden the judiciary. With over 50 million pending cases nationwide, such disputes exacerbate the backlog and strain on the legal system. The policy aims to streamline processes and reduce unnecessary legal confrontations.  If you qualify as ultra-rich, chances are you're tired of five-star hotels. Varuni Khosla writes that super-rich travellers are increasingly drawn to boutique resorts, which offer an intimate and luxurious experience accompanied by meals by high-profile chefs. These resorts are typically in remote locations and cater to the demand for unique and personalised vacations. Affluent millennials are spending more than 25,000 rupees a night to stay at such resorts. Google's in a bit of a spot in India. The tech giant has decided to settle an antitrust case after the Competition Commission of India flagged its deals with smart TV makers as a no-go under the competition laws. This is a big deal because it's the first time a company is testing India's new settlement process, writes Gireesh Chandra Prasad. Introduced last year, the process could get Google a 15% reduction on the penalty. The CCI initiated the probe in 2021, based on allegations that Google violated competition laws in the Android TV market, specifically through its restrictive agreements with smart TV manufacturers. These agreements allegedly limited the manufacturers' ability to use or develop alternative Android systems.Indian IT services are gearing up for their September quarter results, with Infosys expected to lead in revenue growth among the top five firms. Analyst forecasts suggest Infosys could achieve revenue growth exceeding 3%, driven by the ramp-up of previously secured deals and the integration of the newly acquired In-tech, Jas Bardia reports. TCS is also expected to grow, though at a more modest 1.5% to 2.4%, supported by its substantial 4G network deployment deal with BSNL. As for the others, HCL Technologies could see growth of up to 1.9%, while Wipro's projections indicate a slight increase or even a minor decline in revenue. TCS will release its results on the 10th, followed by other major firms. Show notes: Mint Primer | Iran strikes Israel: What next?Government's new litigation policy to target costly PSU disputesBoutique resorts with celebrity chefs: For the uber-rich bored with luxury staysGoogle offers to settle anti-trust case in smart TV probeInfosys to lead Indian IT pack this festive season

[SEGMENT 2-1] Biden too old 1 The non-secret SECRET is out. Holy Mother of Warren Buffet, Biden is too old. Is that really the secret, when you consider that Warren Buffet runs his company and he's 90? Some people age gracefully and others are pathetic lying braindead morons installed in a coup. Welcome… "It's the biggest television audience, not even close, and you get a chance to do a 20-, 25-minute interview on that day," Carville began. "And you don't do it? That's a kind of sign that the staff or yourself doesn't have much confidence in you," Carville continued. "There's no other way to read this." Biden is not the first president to turn down the chance to speak to Super Bowl audiences. In 2018, President Trump declined to sit down with NBC for a Super Bowl interview. [SEGMENT 2-2] Bad for Biden 1 A vote of no-confidence with Biden KNOW that Democrats are scrambling over Biden. Think about it. What would you do if you were handling Biden and you so desperately wanted a win in 2024? Would you keep Biden? Let's play Devil's advocate for a few… Things were bad for Biden before he held his last press conference. He had an almost 18 point deficit in his approval rating. But things have worsened. In the wake of Biden's horrendous press conference where he validated the Special Counsel Robert Hur's assessment of him, America has spoken. In a new poll conducted after the presser, a whopping 86 percent of Americans think Biden is too old to be president for a second term. I've been saying this on my radio show for months. Moreover, I have said for months that Biden will not be the Democrats' nominee for president in 2024. Finally, I predicted that Biden fall would occur this month. [SEGMENT 2-3] Bad for Biden 2 Yes, I'm a bad motha-shut-yo-mouth. OR, perhaps I'm just observant? Biden, 81, is the oldest president to run for office. But that's not his problem. Because in truth, Biden never should have been "selected" in the coup of 2020. Choosing Biden to replace Trump in The Big Cheat showed just how desperate the Democrats were. And the outcome of Biden's presidency assured America that even those who put Biden in as a joke in 2020 know when the joke's on them. The poll tries to condemn Trump, as apparently 59 percent of American believe both Biden and Trump are too old. But Trump is caught in the wake of Biden's difficulties. Because the Trump rallies prove that America doesn't see him as old. The classified documents issue was meant to destroy Trump. But it backfired. And I can see Trump now, saying "Winning!", to all his detractors. Yet another brutal takedown of the Left by Trump. And a two-fer, since it will be difficult for any prosecutor to go after Trump on this issue. Plus, Trump has precedent on his side, as he was a sitting president who had the authority to declassify documents. Biden has no recourse, except he's old and senile. {snicker} Biden did himself no favors in holding that press conference. And from what I've read, Dr. Jill is pissed. How dare they ruin her potential for another 4 (give or take) years as First Hoochie? Truth be told, it's not Biden's age that worry people. His cognitive ability does. Yet, multiple national polls in recent months have indicated voters see Biden's age as a major factor in his ability to serve. That's proven when you compare Biden to Trump in these polls. For example, in September an ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 74 percent of Americans thought Biden was too old to serve another term as president, compared to only 49 percent for Trump. A solid majority for Biden, while the majority believes Trump was not too old to serve. As for Trump being charged with a crime, the odds jump in his favor. If they charge Trump with a crime now, it will clearly be seen as political. And it is political. This poll was conducted Feb. 9 to 10 by Ipsos based on a nationally representative probability sample of 528 adults aged 18 or older. The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 4.5 percentage points. [SEGMENT 2-4] Devil's advocate for Democrats [X] SB – Jake Tapper interviews Dan Goldman on Biden Nothing to these issues or these concerns WH disputed the recollection. He called me when I was in Israel What would your strategy be for Biden? For the Democrats? For the Great Reset? How do you see the future? I've seen the sci-fi movies I saw a series where rich people can live forever and have back-up robots in the event they are killed. I remember a movie where the wealthiest people made bets on criminals who are on an island. Who would survive. Schwarzeneggar made a movie like that too. In that same movie, they modified the video to make him a monster, who supposedly attacked innocent civilians, when in fact he refused to fire on them.

Why does the US have such a strong interest in or allegiance to Israel? Why are people supporting Palestinians? Should the US / Christians provide aid to Gaza? Should the US and Israel bypass the proxies and start dealing with Iran?

Bible Study Don't just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: Sermon Outline The One God of Israel What knowing Him means Why knowing Him matters How knowing Him happens Application Questions Outline the different ways of reading of Deuteronomy 6:4 discussed in the first part of the sermon. Why do the first two of the three fall short? What does Deuteronomy 6:4 tell us about the meaning of idolatry? What other "moribund binaries" on offer in culture does Christianity cut across? What "dividing wall" in your life needs to have the Gospel applied to it? Consider this question both with respect to your worldview and with respect to your relationships.
