In the U-S there's plenty of concern in the Democratic Party after the first debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. Concerns that Biden is too old for the job have reached higher levels than ever before after he stumbled over several answers - often rambling and appearing confused. Senior reporter with POLITICO, Josh Gerstein spoke to Corin Dann.
Joe Biden sharpens his message on abortion rights ahead of the first presidential debate of the 2024 campaign. The Biden team released a campaign ad taking aim at Donald Trump for his role in overturning Roe v. Wade. Also, the government and Trump's lawyers face off at a hearing on a proposed gag order in the classified documents case. Plus, Special Olympics chair Tim Shriver on how his "Dignity Index" can help us all find common ground. Barbara McQuade, Jon Allen, Josh Gerstein, Neal Katyal, Mark McKinnon, Heidi Heitkamp, and Tim Shriver join.
It could happen today. It could happen tomorrow. And you can count on it happening next week, too. The Supreme Court has 22 remaining cases left on the docket, and with time ticking down on this term, the floodgates are about to open. From abortion restrictions to Trump's claims of presidential immunity in his bid to subvert the 2020 election, to social media censorship, to a decision that could gut the regulatory state, the decisions that remain could have a sweeping impact on American life. Senior legal affairs reporter Josh Gerstein sits down with Playbook co-author Eugene Daniels to walk through some of the key cases and what pros should watch for.

Join moderator Jeffrey Goldberg, Josh Gerstein of Politico, Mara Liasson of NPR, Ed O'Keefe CBS News and Nancy Youssef of The Wall Street Journal to discuss this and more.

Today’s episode was guest-hosted by Yasmeen Khan.
