Welcome back to the Ninja Selling Podcast! In today's episode, Eric Thompson is joined by Ninja Coach extraordinaire, Brady Smith, to introduce a simple yet powerful tool for resetting your perspective: The One Sheet of Paper Exercise. If you find yourself weighed down by industry noise, personal challenges, or general negativity, this practical exercise is designed to help you physically and mentally discard distractions and refocus on what truly matters – gratitude and actionable steps within your control. Brady shares the origin of this exercise, born from observing a sense of "heaviness" among agents and friends, and his desire to create a tangible way to shift focus. He then walks listeners step-by-step through the process: identifying something you're grateful for, acknowledging something that's bothering you, determining a controllable action step to address the concern, and then physically ripping away and discarding the negative element. What remains is a powerful reminder of your blessings and your commitment to positive action. This episode is a hands-on guide to minimizing distractions, taking control of your focus, and immediately shifting your mindset towards a more positive and productive state. It's a testament to the Ninja principle that simple, intentional actions can yield significant results. Episode Highlights: Giveaway Winner Announcement! Introducing Ninja Coach Brady Smith and his background The Inspiration: Addressing the "Heaviness" and Need for a Mindset Shift Introducing the "One Sheet of Paper Exercise" Step 1: Folding the Paper & Identifying Gratitude (Right Side) Step 2: Identifying What's Bothering You (Left Side) Step 3: Determining a Controllable Action Step (Right Side) Step 4: The Physical Act - Ripping and Discarding the Negative Step 5: Focusing on What Remains - Gratitude and Action The Power of Letting Go of What You Can't Control Connecting Gratitude to Your "Why" for Taking Action The Immediate Impact: Feeling the Weight Lift Repeating the Exercise as Needed for a Lasting Shift Key Takeaways: "Mindset skill set actions, I feel like it's first for a reason. The other two don't really... if you don't have your mindset in the right place, it's really hard to do for the other two to be successful." "It just seemed like the air was really heavy for a minute there... really struggling... to get out of their head." "Can you control [the thing bothering you]? No." "...on the right side, you're going to write down one thing, one action item that you could do to move the needle to reduce or minimize that thing that you're bothered about." "We're going to rip it in half down the spine... Those big bad interest rates... we're just going to wad up that sheet of paper... and we're literally going to throw it away." "What's left is the right side... What I'm grateful for and what I'm going to do." "You could almost physically see the weight lift off their shoulders." "Do it as much as you need to until you can let go of the control that you don't have over the thing that's got you all anxious or bothered or frustrated or upset." "What you focus on expands." Order online from April 4-7 and earn double reward points.(0:00-11:32) Intro: Jeremy Pruitt suing NCAA(11:33-13:14) Whataburger(13:15-19:27) Recapping Thursday's Games(19:28-22:16) Previewing Tonight's Games(22:17-29:30) What will Kevin Willard do?(29:31-30:53) Kent State coach placed on leave(30:54-48:07) How attractive is the Stanford job?(48:08-55:05) On campus CFP games in the Quarterfinals?(55:06-58:30) TV Deals for NCAA instead of Conferences?(58:31-1:07:22) Speculation in May? (1:07:23-1:08:12) ConclusionOn Thursday, former Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt sued the NCAA for $100 million. One particular coach working Friday in the NCAA Tournament is probably the NCAA's best defense in the lawsuit. Auburn coach Bruce Pearl faced a similar situation and re-emerged and got a new job even before his NCAA penalties expired. One coach was good at Tennessee and one coach wasn't. That's the difference. Half the Elite Eight is set, and we've got four incredible games on Friday. On Thursday, Duke survived a scare from Arizona with an all-timer from freshman Cooper Flagg. The Blue Devils move on to face Alabama, which set an NCAA Tournament record for three-pointers made. Florida wore out Maryland, and the top-seeded Gators will face Texas Tech, which stormed back from a huge deficit to force overtime and then beat Arkansas in the extra period. Friday, we've got Kentucky-Tennessee, Ole Miss-Michigan State, Michigan-Auburn and Purdue-Houston. We're also on Kevin Willard watch. Will he take the Villanova job or stay at Maryland? Meanwhile, college football news keeps coming. Kent State coach Kenni Burns was placed on administrative leave. Next, Andy and Ari answer your questions, including… How good is the Stanford job? Is it possible the College Football Playoff quarterfinals could move to campus? Gene writes “I was around 13 or 14. It was about the third weekend of November. I know this because I was deer hunting. We were on land belonging to Peabody coal company in Muhlenberg county. At that time was 62,000 acres of reclaimed coal land. It was around 4 pm. I was standing in a field looking north, my father had went down a holler to the west of me. I heard my father shoot three times. This was strange because he always shot once and a deer was down. I then moved to the mouth of the holler to see if any deer would be running my direction. I then started to hear people talking, I could not understand what was being said, but I could hear it. I thought well dad is talking to someone and has killed a deer. I proceeded to head down the holler to help him.The holler was open hard woods and you could see a long ways, except for right at the bottom where a intermediate stream was. I got about 50 yards from the brush when two animals busted out of it running straight at me. They were covered with long reddish brown hair about three inches long and were knuckle walking like a great ape. They were about four feet at the shoulder and their hips were lower than their shoulders and knees. Their faces were flat and I saw no ears. They were chattering to each other or something else and that was the voices I heard “talking”. While at this time in my life I did believe in Bigfoot, since my father was a long haul truck driver and another truck driver had claimed a Bigfoot had run behind my dads truck near the Kentucky-Tennessee line, but for me Bigfoot was single creature that walked up right. Anyway, these two animals are running straight at the 13/14 year old me and I do not know what they are.I yank my 30:06 rifle up and fire. I do not think I even aimed, just shot towards them. When I did this there was a big noise behind me and I remember thinking “ they have me surrounded” I spun around to defend myself and saw a squirrel running up a hickory tree right beside me. I spun back around to the threat I knew and they had already crossed the brush bottom and was halfway up the ridge on the other side and I shot at them once more as they run off. They very fast. Once I meet up with my father, he confirmed that he had also shot at these creatures, but was shook up enough to have missed three times. We tried to convince ourselves that these were some sort of wolf and lived under that delusion for many years, until I began studying primates on an academic level, did I let myself believe what I know to be true all along. One thing that scares me to this day is the thought of were they chattering to each other or to mom or dad that was near by that I never saw. I have hunted that area since I was 12 and I just turned 50 this year and I have never set foot in that holler again.”

Blake Lovell, Chris Lee, and Max Barr discuss and rank all 16 SEC basketball teams after Week 2 of the 2024-25 season. Topics include: Alabama drops their first of the season in a thriller at Purdue. The Tide have not looked like the juggernaut we expected, which partially can be attributed to the absence of Chris Youngblood. Arkansas bounced back from the Baylor loss with a gritty win over a respectable Troy squad. The defense has been elite while the Razorbacks await the health of Jonas Aidoo & Johnell Davis. Auburn has been a machine to this point so far, KenPom's No. 1 team. The emergence of Chaney Johnson has been impressive to go alongside Johni Broome. Florida picks up a big win over Florida State in the Gators' first true road game of the season. Walter Claytor Jr has looked the part as a top-3 player in the SEC. Kentucky takes down Cooper Flagg and Duke for one of the best wins of any team so far. A balanced & experienced squad, Mark Pope has Big Blue Nation reenergized for the 24-25 season. LSU goes to Kansas State and controls the whole game for an impressive non-conference statement. Matt McMahon's recruiting class may be one of the most underrated classes in the SEC this year. Ole Miss quiets the critics with a thrashing of Colorado State. Both Matt Murrell and Dre Davis returned from injuries. Mississippi State has been of the most fun teams of the season so far. The new perimeter oriented Bulldogs completed an important comeback over Utah with Josh Hubbard shining, per usual. Oklahoma has been struck with a few injuries early and haven't played a quality opponent yet, making it hard to evaluate the Sooners. South Carolina drops an ugly one to Indiana with Collin Murray-Boyles having a rough day. There's a few important opportunities left in the non-conference for the Gamecocks. Tennessee has also been a machine, destroying an Austin Peay team that won at Butler already. Igor Milicic has been dominant and Zakai Zeigler is facilitating at a career high rate. Texas A&M bounces back against a quality Ohio State squad without the help of Jace Carter. Zhuric Phelps has been fantastic, but an absolute gauntlet awaits the Aggies ahead. Vanderbilt and Mark Byington have looked quite impressive so far, beating a Cal team that just won on the road at USC. Tyler Tanner is a name to keep an eye on. It's time for the inaugural ACC / SEC Challenge following the demise of the ACC / Big Ten Challenge thanks to the Big Ten's new media deal not including ESPN. We have a loaded slate of 14 games across Tuesday and Wednesday (seven each night). All 14 SEC teams are participating with 14 of the 15 ACC schools playing (Louisville is left out). We've got some really exciting matchups headlined by Duke at Arkansas (Wed), Tennessee at North Carolina (Wed), and Miami at Kentucky (Tues). Which conference will prove more? Which conference has more to prove? Can the SEC show it belongs in the same conversation with the Big 12? Can the ACC prove it's not the worst conference of the Power 6?
