To celebrate Pride month, Sully sat down with voice actor, script writer, and ADR director David Wald to discuss his work in working to dub and license LGBTQ themed anime, including Love Stage!! and Hitorijime My Hero.  David is known for voicing Gajeel Refox in Fairy Tail, Bulat in Akame ga Kill!, Berg Katze in Gatchaman Crowds, and Tetsutetsu in My Hero Academia, and has been the ADR director for Love Stage!!, Hitorijime My Hero, Kokkoku, Bloom Into You, and the upcoming dub of Cutie Honey Universe. In this episode, David discusses pushing to get more queer anime into the West, the place that LGBTQ fans have in the anime community, and introducing anime to a wider audience. Sully and David also talk about how anime can play an important role in the coming out narratives of LGBTQ fans. Note: Due to connection issues, there are some drop outs on David's end from the mid point until the end of the podcast. Bcom, Kat, and Leo are back to wrap up the end of the Winter 2018 anime season! We went really long with this episode, so we’ve split it into two parts. In this first half, we detail how horny Kokkoku’s staff are for Juri and Shouko, even until the bitter end. The Mitsuboshi Colors cracked us up for two more fun-filled final episodes. Mercifully, Skilled Teaser Takagi-san ended…finally, though Kat still has some choice words for its conclusion. Then we get into the final three fantastic episodes of A Place Further than the Universe, and how Bcom cried so much he couldn’t even jot down accurate notes through his blurred vision. We finish out this first part of the podcast with a lengthy rundown of the final three episodes of Violet Evergarden, along with a light novel spoiler section to attempt to answer a few lingering questions that have irked the cast throughout the entire series.Recorded April 8, 2018.Timestamps:2:32 - Kokkoku (Eps. 11-12)27:34 - Mitsuboshi Colors (Eps. 11-12)40:01 - Skilled Teaser Takagi-san (Eps. 11-12)50:56 - A Place Further than the Universe (Eps. 11-13)1:26:18 - Violet Evergarden (Eps. 11-13)2:05:25 - Violet Evergarden Light Novel spoilers sectionTwitter: https://twitter.com/NerdomandOtherWebsite: https://nerdomandothernonsense.blogspot.com/iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/nerdom-and-other-nonsense/id1203061952?mt=2Google Play: https://play.google.com/music/m/Iuqfigskscnxqhhatxmfyrec7gi?t=Nerdom_and_Other_Nonsense

We finish off with the Ramens teaching us how to hack the new girl from Citrus' phone, to get her middle-school aged nudez. Oooooh, Citrus. We’re back to run down the top shows of the Winter 2018 season. We’ve watched episode 1-3 for most of the shows below and we’re ready to hash out our favorites and come to a (mostly) agreed upon list of the 10 that we will follow throughout the rest of the season.Winter 2018 really is a diverse season for anime. We’ve got some gorgeous shows, like Violet Evergarden and a Place Further than the Universe, as well as some shows that might burn holes into your eyeballs if you look at them too long, like The Ryou’s Work is Never Done or Pop Team Epic. It’s got everything from hard-boiled thrillers like Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, to iyashikei camping tourism advertisements like Laid-Back Camp. And it even has a highly anticipated horror show from a well respect horror manga author…called Citrus.  Seriously, it’s horrifying. I didn’t know writing could be so bad. In the end, it’s just nice to be starting anew in 2018. Let’s hope this is the best year that anime has ever had!Recorded January 31, 2018.Timestamps:3:25 - Kokkoku12:25 - Mitsuboshi Colors20:08 - Gakuen Babysitters24:38 - Skilled Teaser Takagi-san29:34 - The Ryou’s Work is Never Done!35:01 - A Place Further than the Universe42:51 - Violet Evergarden52:38 - After the Rain58:32 - Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles1:01:47 - Laid-Back Camp1:08:32 - Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody1:15:16 - Märchen Mädchen1:19:58 - Killing Bites1:26:09 - Beatless1:33:01 - Ito Junji: Collection1:38:29 - Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens1:43:24 - Record of Grancrest War1:48:21 - Darling in the FranXX1:57:54 - Citrus2:05:29 - Pop Team Epic2:07:44 - Slow Start2:10:38 - Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen2:14:08 - THE VOTE – Determining our top 10 picks for the season
