Author John Kruth is a returning guest to talk about his new book Lunacy: The Curious Phenomenon of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, 50 Years On. This month marks the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, one of the biggest selling albums of all time with over 40 millions copies sold to date. It topped Billboard and was on the charts for a total of over 700 weeks. Award-winning music biographer John Kruth delves into the making of this iconic record and considers why it continues to speak to generation after generation of music lovers around the world. From avante-garde electronic to jazz to classical, it is all part of the music of Dark Side of the Moon and Kruth explores all of it and more in detail with behind-the-scenes reveals and unexpected insights. In-depth interviews with musicians, artists, DJs and many who have developed deeply personal relationships with this record including a passionate astrophysicist and a leading brain surgeon's nurse who literally performed surgery while the track “Brain Damage” was being played. I ask John about all of this and more in the interview. This is one of my personal favorite albums. It's easily my favorite Floyd album and arguably the most universally relatable album of all time. People find healing in different ways. It's more than just a physical process, and science is beginning to back this up. John G. Kruth is one of the scientists who has dedicated his life to trying to explain the unexplainable. When people claim to be clairvoyant, psychic, telepathic or have any other abilities that can't be easily explained with science, John and his research team are there to study it. In this episode, John teaches us how he and his team test different parapsychological phenomena that aren't easily explainable by current scientific studies. He makes the connection between bioenergy and consciousness to help explain why our thoughts might create our reality more than previously believed. Based on his research, it seems that it is, in fact, possible to jump the timeline and create healing for ourselves in ways that would normally be considered impossible, or even miraculous. Key Topics/Takeaways: - The different types of healing [2:12] - The 5 phenomena of parapsychology [5:49] - Being open-minded about people's experiences [11:23] - Studying the human biofield [13:41] - Testing healing with light [21:08] - How we unconsciously block healing [26:59] - Defining consciousness vs. Consciousness [35:32] - Miraculous healing [43:04] - Quantum healing and biological upgrades [46:40] Where To Find John: https://www.rhine.org/ John G. Kruth is the Executive Director of the Rhine Research Center and the founder of the Rhine Education Center. He has been studying parapsychology informally for over 35 years and has been a formal member of the Rhine research team since 2009. His research has included studies related to energetic healing methods, bioenergy signatures, out-of-body experiences, qualitative case studies, mind-matter interaction, and poltergeist phenomena. He is a business leader, an educator, and a parapsychologist. "Hold On World" revisits John Lennon and Yoko Ono's love affair and startling collaborations. 'John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band' was arguably the most emotionally honest album ever made. It wasn't merely another record but more like a sonic exorcism, a spiritual, public bloodletting. Lennon's album drove a stake through the heart of the Beatles' myth while confronting everything else in John's life, from Dylan to God to his glorified status as a "Working Class Hero."Determined to rid himself of past traumas—abandonment by his father and the death of his mother, Julia—Lennon wrote the most powerful song cycle of his career, confronting fear, disappointment, and illusion, all the while espousing his love for Yoko Ono. Released simultaneously, Ono's album 'Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band' is emotionally raw and challenging. It inspired bands like the B-52s and Yo La Tengo to employ pure sound, whether shrieking vocals or guitar feedback, to express their deepest feelings.Purchase a copy through Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Hold-World-Lasting-Impact-Plastic/dp/1493052357Songs Discussed In This Episode: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3ji0kWOesHvIHocqnEZWmA?si=adc91ea1c2df4f4dThe Booked On Rock Website: https://www.bookedonrock.comFollow The Booked On Rock with Eric Senich:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/bookedonrockpodcastTWITTER: https://twitter.com/bookedonrockContact The Booked On Rock Podcast:EMAIL: thebookedonrockpodcast@gmail.comThe Booked On Rock Theme Song: “Whoosh” by Crowander [ https://freemusicarchive.org/music/crowander]

Dr. Sally Rhine Feather is the eldest daughter of Dr. J.B. Rhine, known as the "father of ESP research." She practically grew up at the Parapsychology Lab at Duke University, where her father's famous ESP card tests led to Extrasensory Perception becoming a household word in America. After obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Dr. Feather returned to her father's laboratory to work on ESP experiments and research. She then earned a Doctorate in Experimental Psychology from Duke University. Dr. Feather is a licensed clinical psychologist, completing her postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at the University of North Carolina. She also founded the Psychic Experience Group (PEG) at the Rhine Research Center which functions as a support group allowing people who have had troubling psychic experiences to meet and share those experiences without fear of ridicule or judgment. Dr. Feather's current parapsychology focus is developing the Rhine Research Center's research program investigating the possibility of applying psi ability to the health and healing field. - www.rhine.orgJohn G. Kruth is the founder of the Rhine Education Center and has used his extensive technology background to help make the Rhine more accessible to a world-wide audience. He has informally studied parapsychology and PSI for over 35 years and has formally been studying research and evaluation techniques since 2008. He is completing a Masters of Science in Psychology specializing in research methods and analysis techniques and is using this knowledge to contribute to the research efforts at the Rhine including work on precognition and healing energies. He has worked in large and small organizations as a manager and an operations specialist and is bringing this expertise to the Rhine. - www.rhine.org
