Raksa viettää viikonloppuna Lahden Messukeskuksessa 40-vuotisjuhliaan. Messut käynnistyvät naistenpäivänä perjantaina 8. maaliskuuta ja kestävät koko viikonlopun sunnuntaihin asti. Vuosikymmeniä Lahden messuilla mukana ollut ja jo ensimmäisillä Raksa-messuja ideoinut alueemme messulegenda Irina Lehtonen kertoi tiistaina Radio Voimalla erikoismessujen aikakauden alkaneen vuonna 1984 nimenomaan Raksa-messuilla. - Tulin vuonna 1983 taloon ja joku keksi, että tehkääpä harjoitustyönä rakennusalan tapahtuma, että opitte tekemään näitä messuja. Niinpä me, neljä henkeä, polkaistiin se käyntiin. Siellä oli jopa omat lapset töissä, se oli iso perhe, joka tapahtumaa teki. Lehtonen kertoo, että ensimmäistä Raksaa valmistellessaan he saivat paljon vinkkejä myös Lahden Rakentajien yhdistykseltä. - Se on tiiviisti vielä tänä päivänäkin mukana Raksa-messujen järjestämisessä. Aika "Uuno Taavetti Virtasia" olimme kuitenkin kaikki siinä loppujen lopuksi sitä tekemässä, mutta tekevä oppii, kertoi Lehtonen ja jatkoi. - Kysyvä ei tieltä eksy. Eihän messujen vetäjä itse tunne alaa, jota markkinoi. Se on rohkeasti kysyttävä ja sanottava: "Anteeksi, minä en tiedä. Auta. Opeta". Ei voi pelätä omaa tietämättömyyttään. Sieltä se lähtee. Ensimmäiset Raksa-messut onnistuivatkin niin hyvin Lehtosen mukaan, että niiden jälkeen päätettiin, että messut kokoavat vakituisen organisaation, joka järjestää rakennusmessuja joka vuosi. Janne Lehtonen oli perustamassa Suomen erikoisjoukkoja ja toimi operaattorina Afganistanissa ja Somaliassa. Hänen mukaansa ihmisen on mahdollista kestää loputtomasti kipua, mutta vieläkö sisu on hänen mukaansa osa suomalaisuutta?

Lahden Suunnistajat -37 järjestää sprinttisuunnistuksen SM-kilpailut tänään lauantaina Lahden satamassa. Osallistujia arvioidaan saapuvan yli 1500.   Kilpailussa on mukana myös kansainvälisiä osanottajia ja kilpailusta jaetaan maailman ranking-pisteitä.  Aamulla käytiin karsinnat ja iltapäivällä kello 13 alkavat finaalit.   – Edellisen kerran sprinttikilpailut on järjestetty Hollolassa toistakymmentä vuotta sitten, ei tämmöisiä kisoja Päijät-Hämeen alueella järjestetä edes 10 vuoden välein, kilpailunjohtaja Timo Lehtonen kertoo Radio voiman haastattelussa.  Lehtosen mukaan vanhin kisaan osallistuja on 95-vuotias. Sarjoja on 14-vuotista ylöspäin.  Huomenna sunnuntaina Lahden seudun suunnistusviikonloppua jatkuu, kun SM-viestit järjestetään Hollolassa, Hälvälän lentokentän maastossa. Today I will be talking to Lasse Lehtonen about his book The 14th Moon, which came out with Bloomsbury this year (2022). With me today is Dr. Brooke McCorkle, who wrote her own book on Japanese musicians Shonen Knife, a band who also feature in my own work on punk in Kyoto. The 14th Moon is the title of an album by the Japanese singer-song writer Yuming, who although not punk at all, shares much with and impacted in one form or another the musicians Brooke and I look at, especially, the female musicians among them. This should not come as a surprise, as Yuming (Matsutoya Yumi) is one of the most influential figures in Japanese popular music history.  A singer-songwriter recognized globally for her songs used in Miyazaki Hayao's beloved animations, Yuming has captured the hearts of listeners of different generations since her debut in the early 1970s. Her fourth album, The 14th Moon, released in November 1976, was a milestone in establishing her signature style: the posh, “city” sound that later paved the way to the 1980s City Pop and 1990s J-pop, and even what Brooke calls Josei or women rock. In addition to examining the album's astonishing stylistic versatility and its complex background, Lasse explores how Yuming revolutionized the position of women in Japanese popular music. The 14th  Moon teaches us much about the turbulent and transformative time of its recording and help us understanding the social changes in Japan of the 1970s, a usually under researched era in cultural history, after the stormy and radical era of the 1960s and just before the heyday of the consumerist bubble era of the 1980s. Koronan uusi BA.5-omikronmuunnos saapui Suomeen. Haastateltavina Helsingin ja uudenmaan sairaanhoitopiirin diagnostiikkajohtaja Lasse Lehtonen ja Virologian professori Olli Vapalahti Helsingin yliopistosta. Uusi virusmuunnos kiertää immuniteettia paremmin kuin entiset. "Seuraava aalto tulee, ja veikkailtiin, että se on kesälomakauden jälkeen, mutta nyt jännitetään, osuuko se jo juhannuksen jälkeiseen aikaan, joka on terveydenhuollon kannalta iso haaste. Meillä on henkilöstovajauksia ja vaikea saada kesäksi sijaisia", Lehtonen kertoo. Lehtosen mukaan jo noin 30 prosenttia koronatartunnoista on uutta BA.5-muunnosta. "BA.5-kanta on levinnyt Suomessa. Tarttuminen tapahtuu Suomessakin nopeasti", Vapalahti kertoo. Vapalahden mukaan rokotusten ja jo sairastettujen varianttien takia eri maissa nähdään eroja. "Etelä-Afrikassa on niin moni sairastanut jo eri versioita tästä koronasta että siellä sairaalahoidon tarve ja kuolleisuus jäi matalaksi BA.5:n osalta, toisin kuin Portugalissa", hän kertoo. Lehtonen kritisoi Suomen rokotuspolitiikkaa. Ruotsissa, missä jaetaan pian jo viidettä rokoteannosta, on hänen mielestään toimittu paremmin. Yhteiskuntaa ei kuitenkaan tarvitse Lehtosen ja Vapalahden mukaan laittaa säppiin. He kuitenkin kehottavat ottamaan rokotukset ja tarvittaessa käyttämään kasvomaskeja. Satoko Naito speaks to Lasse Lehtonen about his research on Japanese women singer-songwriters of the 1970s and 1980s. Focusing on popular pioneers like Yumi Matsutoya (Yūmin), Miyuki Nakajima, and Takako Okamura, Dr. Lehtonen discusses how the artists assert their agency and artistry, not necessarily through their lyrics but via what Matsutoya once identified as "backstage feminism." He also shares his ideas on the important potential of incorporating music history and musicology in the study of social and cultural histories. Dr. Lehtonen is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo.
