Jessica Baladad, six-year cancer survivor, is the creator of Feel For Your Life, a free mobile application that provides resources on how to perform self breast exams and when to get screenings, while allowing users to track and monitor their changes and set reminders. An unexpected breast cancer diagnosis at 33 years old empowered Jessica to channel her experience into a mission that is changing the way women advocate for their medical care. It's the first of its kind created by a breast cancer patient and has been downloaded tens of thousands of times all over the world. In 2024, Jessica implemented an AI feature into the app to help patients interpret and better understand pathology reports from their breast cancer screenings. Jessica's history with breast cancer catalyzed her dedication to building Feel For Your Life. She's the fourth generation on her paternal side of the family to be diagnosed with the disease, and yet, no known gene mutation has been found in her lineage. She first learned how to do a self breast exam after having a benign tumor removed at 18, and nearly 15 years later, Jessica was diagnosed with Stage 2B invasive ductal carcinoma after performing a routine self exam in the shower. She underwent 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, 24 rounds of radiation, a hysterectomy and 10-hour flap reconstruction. Since launching the app, Jessica has expanded her advocacy into healthcare reform. She has helped write legislation in the State of Tennessee to promote risk reducing measures against cancer and disease. Billed as the Feel For Your Life Act, it requires high school students to learn about self breast exams, testicular exams and skin exams. Additionally, Jessica has spoken out against insurance companies before members of Congress. She is working to eliminate quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) scores, Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs) and co-pay accumulators. Jessica plans to grow her efforts further by working with medical providers, patients and vendors to bridge the gaps that keep individuals from getting access to the care they deserve. Jessica has been featured on Good Morning America, Tank's Good News, USA Today, The Dave Ramsey Show, UpWorthy and several national and international media outlets. She's worked with the NFL on their Crucial Catch Campaign to promote cancer screenings, received the Hometown Hero Award from Ponce Law on Nashville's Fox 17, has been recognized by the National Breast Cancer Foundation for her leadership initiatives and was the recipient of the Mona Lisa Foundation Grant in 2023. In 2020, the NFL's Crucial Catch Campaign partnered with Jessica to spread awareness about the importance of screenings being missed during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. She serves as an active committee member of the Tennessee Advocate for Breast Cancer (TA4BC) group. In our Life App series, we explore the Life App of Mutual Affection—brotherly kindness expressed through both feeling and action. Discover how building genuine connection takes proximity, time, and a willingness to understand and extend grace to one another.
Discover what it truly means to live a life of godliness—not about perfection or religiosity, but reflecting God's character in our relationships. This message explores John 13:1-7 and how godliness is choosing humility over pride, kindness over recognition, giving over receiving, and love over hate.
True self-control is rooted in love. Discover how God's love secures our identity, shapes our self-worth, and guides us to live with purpose in this week's Life App message.

In a culture that often prioritizes being right over being kind, Jesus calls us to something greater—goodness (Matthew 7:15-20). In this message we explore how God's very nature is good (Psalm 34:8) and how He calls us to reflect His lovingkindness (Micah 6:8).
Life App: Real Tools for Real Life is a new series exploring how God's power transforms us to impact the world around us. In this message, we dive into 2 Peter 1:3-10, emphasizing that faith isn't just about knowledge—it's about application.

When the account in Daniel 5 was written, it was 539 BC. Nearly 70 years had passed since Daniel and his friends were brought to Babylon as slaves. Daniel is most likely around 80 years old. King Nebuchadnezzar is dead and now his grandson Belshazzar is on the throne. Belshazzar is not wise but prideful. He was arrogant and took for granted everything that was handed to him. As this account begins we see him partying, but this was not just any party. This was a party that had every perverse activity being celebrated. Who throws a party when you know that your enemy is camped right outside of your walls? What picture is he trying to paint? Does he want everyone to have courage? Is he drowning his own fears with alcohol? Or he is so full of pride that he thinks no one has the ability to fight and defeat Babylon?Similar questions can be asked to us when we are faced with overwhelming circumstances. How did you react in the past and what would you do now? How do you feel about power grids failing? Supply chains breaking down? Finances getting restricted? Fuel shortages? Would you stockpile?Pascal (a 17th century French mathematician, physicist, inventor, philosopher, writer, and Catholic theologian) says we have a difficult time dealing with death, and usually people will turn to jokes or some humor to take the sting out of that conversation. Pascal used several analogies but one stood out, that of a car heading off the road into a steep valley with no way of stopping it or getting out. He said you would find people distracting themselves by observing the natural scenery or by trying to engage in a light conversation instead of thinking about the coming death. The question this account poses may not be that obvious. Are you prepared for the end? The difference between Belshazzar and you and me is that he found out when he would die, but we don't know that exact day, although we know it is coming. We only have one life that is given to us. How are you doing with yours? Eternity is all that matters at the very end. You have an opportunity to choose now and have unquestioned confidence that you will thrive and not just survive through all the seasons of life, and when that final day comes, that you will be welcomed home by your Creator into eternity.
Humans are at their core incurably religious. We come with a hole in our spiritual being and that is how we know that we were created to worship God and to know Him. Worship is an essential just as oxygen and food. The fall and sin corrupted God's creation. Every day you see blogs and Ted talks that tell us how to find meaning and value in our lives. They tell us what things we are supposed to regard as precious and what to live for. When you speak with people who have bought into an idol you wonder if it's working for them. Do they look at peace? Are they truly satisfied? Does it answer those life questions of eternal security? Any time we revere something as god it costs us something. Is that cost worth it? In other words, if their god is money, they sacrifice family, integrity, etc – is this worth it? One might be serving the god of food, education, or healthcare. Their god may be a cause for humanity. Does it have the ultimate cure? Can one put their hope and trust in it?For some people it is their dogma of evolution that is their god. But will nature naturally work itself into higher and higher levels of complexity? How did nature get this power? Some believe that every religion ultimately leads to god. Some think that all morality is equal. The bottom line is that when your life is submitted to an idol in place of the true and living God, you have shrunk everything down to something you can explain. The God of the Bible is unexplainable. Evelyn Underhill said, “If God were small enough to be understood, He would not be big enough to be worshipped.”The God of the Bible is not received simply through explanation but requires revelation. We are surrounded by idols. Are you provoked when you see people in bondage to idols? Jesus was provoked when he saw idols in us. He did not give up on us or write us off, but instead revealed His great unconditional love to us by going to the cross and dying for your sins and mine. That revelation of the death, burial and resurrection has given us eternal hope, and it now compels us to share with those who are in bondage to the idols and idolatry of the devil.
Calling for help by junior medical staff is frequently a focus of healthcare simulation activities, but our first paper highlights how the impact is perhaps more complex than we have previously realised, and there is real risk of harm. We then looked at a paper describing the development of the marvellous LIFE App for neonatal resuscitation in LMIC countries – including drawing upon human centred design principles and project management methodology. Simulation Fellowships and the advantages and disadvantages of accreditation came under the spotlight in a debate article that reported on a session from the 2022 IMSH conference. And we finished with a fascinating look at ‘team neurosynchrony' during laparoscopic surgical simulation – high performing teams tend to have synchronous pupillary dilatation during surgery, likely evidence of a shared understanding of the cognitive load at any moment. Yes really! Happy listening!

The teachings of Jesus are always applicable to life. Everything he taught could be formed into a Life App, and they would all have one thing in common. Jesus spoke of it the night before he died, important last words to his followers. Hear his words and put them into practice for they are the key to enabling application of all that Jesus taught. It's covered in today's conclusion of the Life App series: Keep My Commands.
Remember when you were a kid? Part of you still is! That was what an old soft drink commercial said. Jesus said something similar, “unless you become like a little child you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” And Jesus said that to His followers! Jesus directs His followers to change, have you changed and become like a little child? Today's Life App, Kid Faith, will inspire you to remember when you were a kid and help you to apply the instruction of Jesus and never miss out on heaven!
When our hands or feet experience repetitive hurts, they begin to form a protective barrier. Our bodies will form a natural layer of defense to protect against these pains, they're called calluses. Calluses on the hands are good, where a hard layer of protection is helpful. Yet not all calluses are good. Jesus pointed out an area where hardness was a detriment: the heart. Jesus said those with a calloused heart miss out on kingdom of God. Don't let life's recurring hurts cause a defensive layer to develop on your hear. Listen in to this Life App to discover and apply the remedy for eliminating a hardened heart and preventing future heart calluses from forming.
On this episode of WE Have Cancer, Oncologist Dr. Daniel shares how the free Belong.Life app is changing the lives of cancer patients and caregivers around the world. Belong.Life is both a social and professional network for managing and navigating treatments, with a mission to improve the quality of life and the quality of cancer care around the world through technology, engagement, data, and AI. Guest Biography: Dr. Daniel Vorobiof is the Medical Director of Belong.Life, creator of Belong – Beating Cancer Together, the world's largest social network and navigator app for cancer patients, caregivers, and medical professionals. He is the founder and former medical director of the Sandton Oncology Centre in Johannesburg and has published more than 120 peer-reviewed articles in international medical journals. He formerly served as an executive board member of the International Committee of ASCO. Table of Contents:The Online Cancer Community Goes Global Dr. Vorobiof explains that as a cancer patient, you have more questions than answers, and it's hard to know what to do or who to trust. Belong is a “GPS for cancer patients.” It's a social network for support and navigating the treatment of cancer. The App is Safe, Free, and Personalized Belong is an international application, it's free to use, and completely anonymous. All your private information stays private. You can choose which groups you want to be a part of in the app, according to the diagnosis you have and the circumstances that apply to you. Serving Over 300,000 Patients Worldwide Dr. Vorobiof says, “I wasn't looking for a new career in my life, but this was the opportunity for me.” In 40 years as an oncology practitioner, he estimates he treated 20,000-30,000 cancer patients. Now with Belong, he has over 300,000 patients all over the world after just four years on the app. The Comfort of Anonymity Since the app is anonymous, patients can ask questions they might be afraid or embarrassed to ask in person or with family members present at a regular doctor's visit. Plus, caregivers can be active on Belong too; an estimated 20% of the app's total 400,000 users are caregivers. Surveying the Cancer Community about COVID Vaccines Just three days after sending out a survey to the app users about how they were feeling about the COVID vaccines, Dr. Vorobiof received over 1000 quality responses. Detailed findings are still being combed through, but he says 96% of responders said they'd had the vaccine, and 4% reported they did not want to receive it. Making Sense of Clinical Trials with Belong.Life The app bridges a huge need in the cancer community in regard to clinical trials with its Clinical Match feature. Taking in a person's information (de-identified to remain anonymous), the app can match someone with any clinical trial/s they may be suited for. Bringing Community & Cancer Support to the 21st Century Receiving support on the online app is simple and intuitive. Emotional support is crucial for both patients and caregivers. Everything from education to emotional support can be found on Belong, all of which is private and anonymous. When our digital devices have reached their storage capacity, we can add another memory module with ready to use gigabytes. Unfortunately we can't do the same thing with our own memories. We humans are prone to forget, and since we can't add to our storage capacity, God instituted memory helpers. Special days, seasons, and meals, visual reminders, writing, even signs like the rainbow, all to spark a memory and remember things of the Lord. So, it comes as no surprise that Jesus instituted a way that He would be remembered. We call it communion, or the Lord's supper. Jesus said, “do this in remembrance of me.” Today's Life App delves into how we can apply Jesus' words every day, and never forget all He has done.
On the packaging of most foods we purchase there is a printed section with this heading: Nutrition Facts. The table of facts lists things like calories, total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, total carbohydrates and more. The information is listed so that informed, health-conscious decisions can be made. Unfortunately, there is no such system to help us when we make spiritual decisions in a time when there is no dearth of spiritual junk food. Today's Life App focuses on the importance of being spiritually health conscious and what to avoid when feeding the soul.
The invention of the Internet has ushered in the era of the influencer. Yet, long before there was anything called social media, there were influencers. Jesus warned his followers about the influencers of His time, the Pharisees and the Sadducees. Jesus instructed His followers to be careful, for a little bit of their influence could be corrosive. Jesus went on to tell his disciples to “be on guard.” His advice is relevant today, in a culture where influencers abound. Today's Life App, Be On Guard, considers both negative influences for which we should carefully be on guard against, and positive influence to advance the cause of Christ.
At the entrance to Heaven awaits Jesus. When the time comes for you to stand before Him, will He say, “Come in!” or “Go away, I don't know you.”? Sadly, to many who claim to be true followers of Jesus, when their time comes, He will say, “Go away.” They appeared to be true followers, but they were fakes. Today's Life App considers the greatest question all must answer: Will you enter heaven? It is only the true followers of Christ to whom He will open the gate. Learn the difference between the fake follower and true follower then apply it every day of your life.
Who are you hearing from? There is a biblical word for the one who brings the Word of God to His people, and that word is prophet. Prophetic ministry has a place in the church, but every generation deals with false prophets. Both the Old and New Testaments give many warnings to beware of false prophets. False prophets were in the generations before Jesus, they were in the generation of Jesus, and they are prominent in this generation. Jesus warned against them, describing them as appearing like sheep but inwardly ferocious wolves. Today's Life App directly addresses the warning given by Jesus to watch for false prophets and gives insight into how to discern the true from the false.
Two destinies. Two options. That's it. Jesus made the point more than once in his sermon on the mount. He contrasted heaven and hell, light and darkness, life and death. Two destines. That's it. As he brought his sermon to a close he hammered the point again using images familiar to his first century audience: gates. The gate of city, large and expansive, and the gate of a home, small and narrow. Many choose the large, open way, that of the broad gate. Few choose the narrow way beyond the small gate. Each gate represents a destiny, one is death and the other life. Which have you chosen as your destiny? Today's Life App addresses the way of life and how to stay on its path.
Do not judge. Many Christians and non-Christians alike live by this ethic. The saying originated with Jesus, He said, “Do not judge.” From the Christian perspective if Jesus said it then we should all do as He said, right? After all, to judge another person’s decisions or behavior should be left to God alone. Is that what Jesus taught? Today’s Life App considers the words of Jesus which open Matthew chapter 7 beginning with: “Do not judge.” Listen in to learn what Jesus has to say about judging others.

In the world of modern medicine heart problems can be detected and diagnosed with noninvasive tests such as an electrocardiogram. That works well for the natural heart, but what about the spiritual heart which represents the inner person and the seat of their desires? The spiritual heart needs attention just like the natural heart, and in today’s passage of scripture Jesus directly points to the heart and what lies at its very core. What’s at the center of you heart? Is it light or dark, lasting or temporary? You’ll know when you apply the words of Jesus with a test on your heart, and you can learn how to do that by listening in on this Life App called: Storing Up.
In His Sermon on the Mount Jesus defied the religion of the day as He taught new ethics. He communicated with clarity and authority introducing concepts that had never been taught, some of it was challenging, perhaps even impossible to put into practice. As He moved into the heart of His sermon Jesus said, “Love your enemies.” That sounds hard to do. Yet He did not stop there. Jesus continued, “and be perfect.” That sounds impossible. Today’s Life App message will help you to not only apply what seems hard, but even the impossible sounding “be perfect.”
It has been said of politicians, they can’t resist making promises they will never keep. Its’ a cultural norm that is so common, we accept it and have come to expect it from our leaders: promises made will be promises broken. The attitude is pervasive, we’re all susceptible to it, and when a predicament comes our way we might rely on the politician’s tool: swear out a promise that we know we can’t keep. Jesus gave different advice, He said, “All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’” That’s good advice that is sometimes difficult to do. Tune in to today’s Life App for some practical insight which originates from Jesus, the one who made many promises but never failed to keep a single one.
Have you ever heard the saying, "You can't see the forest for the trees?" It means that you are missing what you should see and have in focus even though it is right there in front of your eyes. That's the way it was when Jesus entered Jerusalem for His final Passover. The people hailed Him as king, and did not see the real mission of Jesus. The truth about Jesus was hidden from the eyes of the people, and it moved Jesus to tears. Jesus wept over the people. Is Jesus weeping over us? Have the things in our lives robbed us of seeing the real mission of Jesus? Today's Life App will challenge you to see Jesus clearly.
