Our third episode of Q&A is here! Here are the questions asked and any relevant links: Tom, do you think using the TBT (total body trainer) and incorporating my arms in the aerobic exercise will deliver more oxygen to those areas than having them in a resting position as I pedal with my legs? (Listen at 01:42 - 06:00) Ben Menafee podcast Keiser Total Body Trainer Ben's shared spreadsheet Will LiveO2 help my sex life? (Listen at 06:03 - 13:04) Can you address Northern California fire detox? They are burning us down and don't plan to stop. How could the AC™ system be best used to support people's detox from the fires? Can you also speak to the nature of toxins from the fires that are burning hotter than wildfires (burning stuff like tires and metals and porcelain)? (Listen at 13:17 - 32:54) Adaptive Contrast™ system Detox protocol Blessed Herbs Quick Silver Scientific *Tom tip: best time for an herbal cleanse is Spring or Fall! How does LiveO2 Adaptive Contrast compare to Hyperbaric oxygen therapy? (Listen at 33:00 - 45:44) Read: LiveO2 vs. Hyperbaric I wanted to share something with you about using my LiveO2 system. I watched a podcast about nose breathing during exercise and I decided to try it while doing my LiveO2 workout. It took a while to get comfortable with it - I would sometimes exhale from the nose but got used to it.After a bit I noticed I felt remarkably relaxed even when the O2 levels were low. I felt relaxed after...normally I am little hyped up. When done, I decided to use my heart variability tester to verify how relaxed I was. It was amazing, I was completely balanced with my nervous system even after just exercising. Best session to date! Curious if you have tried it and had the same result? (Listen at 46:00 - 53:13) Buteyko breathing Wim Hof method *Tom tip: Our nose is there for a reason - to breathe! The mouth is designed more for eating. I haven’t used my Live02 the last month or two. And I noticed that the two times I used it this week that my pulse ox wasn’t going down that much when I was on -O2. It would maybe go down to 95 and then trickle back up to 97 even after a couple of minutes. Is that weird? (Listen at 53:15 - 1:00:09) Contact us about your protocol - maybe it's time to level-up? Scott Stapleton of Keiser podcast (HIIT training) I am looking at foot surgery for arthritis and was wondering if AC will speed up the healing process? (Listen at 1:00:10 - end)

Here's what you'll learn in this episode: Why the switching mechanism on the Adaptive Contrast™ makes a difference How our parts were designed and why we didn't go to a local hardware store to buy parts for our systems The origin of our Adaptive Contrast system design (hint: founder, Mark, was trying to solve his own problem) Why we use clean materials and the results of our air tests for contaminants Why our system is more like "bamboo" instead of "oak" - a look at our reservoir design How we learned to honor how the body works and how this compares to our competitors' flawed methodologies How we control resistance in our systems (you have to have resistance to improve) What the purpose of the nose (and nose hair!) is Why "work capacity" = health What Engineer Mike's Rx for health is!
Our second episode of Q&A is here! Again, we polled our Facebook page and private Facebook group, LiveO2 for the People, to see what questions you have for Tom, our VP. In this episode, Tom addresses all of the questions submitted, so this episode is more lengthy than last time. Here are the questions from this episode: How can one check the oxygen concentration level that the compressor is delivering? Is it possible for it to just be filling the bag with air? Several years ago, Ben Menafee had a freak weightlifting accident, went into a coma, and woke up to a group of doctors telling him he probably wouldn’t be able to walk again. Today, Ben has a “motivational wheelchair” that he keeps in sight to remind him of where this journey started. He can now walk, on his own, 2 miles. Ben was told that “no gains could be made 12 months after a brain injury” and he’s made more documented gains in years 2 and 3 after his injury. “If you think you can do it, try it” In this podcast episode, we get to hear exactly how Ben was able to achieve those gains and: How he responded when doctors told him oxygen treatment was “snake oil” Why “limited mobility” LiveO2 users can still train equally to fully-mobile users What Ben does to keep his body guessing How to use LiveO2 systems if you’re claustrophobic Why Ben’s physical therapist now wants to try his system! Jeff’s results from his 50-year checkup with his doctor produced some disheartening results: Cholesterol levels up. Blood pressure up. And his neck pain had increased due to his numerous prior herniated disc surgeries. Not only was the health outlook grim, but the financial implications of treating these symptoms left Jeff feeling like there must be a better way. That moment is when he decided to take his health into his own hands and become a participant in his health –- not a patient relying on prescription drugs. Fast-forward to today: Jeff feels no more pain, has incredibly increased his energy and stamina, and has eliminated his brain fog enabling him to pursue things he’s always wanted to like writing (check out his first book!) and music. In this podcast episode, Jeff gives us a first-hand account of how his oxygen training with his LiveO2 system, inversion therapy and ketogenic diet have played a part in his incredible transformation.
In this episode, learn all about our newest product the LiveO2 Adaptive Contrast Dual system! You asked: we listened! This is the first-to-market multi-user system with many other optimized features. You know the numbers — you can go without food for three weeks, without water for three days, and without oxygen for just three minutes. With such a clear and constant need for oxygen, it is surprising that the oxygen debt many of us live with every day isn't addressed more in fitness culture. This episode is a conversation with Tom Butler, vice president at LiveO2 Adaptive Contrast Oxygen Therapy. Tom earned his bachelor's degree in environmental science at Virginia Polytechnic and his master of science in Oriental medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado. The positive effects he experienced from his very first exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT) session convinced him this was something he needed to tell people about. [Note: For the complete set of show notes, links, and contact info, head to https://www.wholelifechallenge.com/podcast] An incredible ability to recover from workouts, the jump in his energy level, and a 30% improvement in his VO2 max all made Tom a believer. If you are curious about the effects of chronic oxygen deprivation on your tissues, performance, energy level, and chronic inflammation and disease risk, be sure to tune in to this episode of the WLC podcast. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- If you enjoy the podcast, please subscribe. Our guest today, Tom Butler, is the VP and partner at LiveO2, an oxygen training system. As you’ll learn during this conversation, super oxygenation is important not only for workouts, but also for our overall health. Tom is the founder of the Whole Health Network. He began his career as a biochemist in pharmaceutical development, and he achieved the status of senior scientist at the impressively early age of 25. This combination of resources gives him brilliant insight into health, as you’ll hear in our conversation. Find Out More About Tom Here: Tom Butler on LinkedInLiveO2.com In This Episode: [03:09] - What is super oxygenation, and why should we care? [04:42] - Stephan points out that vascular inflammation is linked to heart disease, cancer, and more, so super oxygenation is about more than just a better workout. Tom elaborates on this. [08:33] - Tom talks about Chinese medicine and its views of not only the movement of energy in the body, but also the blood. He mentions blood stasis, or blood stagnation. [10:30] - We learn about the risk of inadequate oxygenation in parts of our bodies. [13:18] - Stephan describes his first experience using Tom’s device at the Bulletproof Conference, where Kristen Lohneiss told him her story. [14:15] - Kristen shares her own story, involving a traumatic brain injury due to a drunk driver. We hear how much of a difference the LiveO2 system has made for her. [19:51] - Super oxygenation can bring someone from near death back to health, Tom explains. He also talks about “pushing up against” injuries, or returning blood flow in a way that breaks through healing barriers. [24:57] - Tom describes the LiveO2 system, which involves controlling the airflow that someone is breathing with varying amounts of oxygen. [28:31] - How do you know if LiveO2 is successfully cleaning out someone’s system? Fascinatingly, skin and breath smells are part of the answer. [30:09] - Heavy metals take a little more work to get rid of than the other pollutants in our bodies, Tom explains. [32:55] - Stephan is learning about a Kabbalah principle that if you receive something without earning it, it comes with side effects. He applies this to what Tom has been saying about LiveO2. [34:36] - Tom talks about pulse oximetry, and discusses the issue of carbon monoxide. [37:42] - Any finger will do for your pulse oximeter, Tom explains. He then talks about possible asymmetry in oxygenation between the left and right hands. He and Stephan then go on to talk about super oxygenation in stroke victims. [42:10] - Tom gives more details about the actual process that LiveO2 employs. Most first-time participants will stay on the oxygenated air for about eight minutes. [48:39] - How does Tom coach users who aren’t local? [50:51] - If you’re interested in working with a LiveO2 practitioner, go to the LiveO2 website or give them a call. They have an unpublished directory of LiveO2 practitioners and may be able to hook you up with someone near you. [51:23] - Tom talks about the cost of having the LiveO2 system in your own home. [54:40] - We learn more about Mark Squibb, who invented the device, and how he created it. [59:27] - Tom discusses how often people should use LiveO2 technology. [61:50] - To get more information on the LiveO2 system, including getting one for your own home, go to the LiveO2 website. You’re also welcome to give them a call at 970-372-4344. Get Optimized! Once Bulletproof Labs opens in Santa Monica, take a trip there. You’ll be able to try the LiveO2 system among many other things. Read about blood stasis, also known as blood stagnation.
