Are you tired of being so busy? Are you ready for a break and a slower pace? In today's episode, you'll learn two steps to help you slow down as a busy homeschool mom. Busyness comes at a cost to our health, our relationships, and our walk with the Lord... Busyness is often a cause of stress that causes us to be short-tempered with our family, hurting the relationships with those we love most. Packing our schedules crowds out room for the Lord and for the Holy Spirit to move in our lives. It's time to ditch the busyness and replace it with intentional routines and habits that leave room for the Lord and the blessings He has for your family, your home and homeschool. Coaching. My beautiful sister, we're gonna have a heart to heart about making space for Christ this Christmas -- how to prepare Him room, so we can truly keep Jesus at the center of Christmas, and lead our families in this too. The world & culture takes the focus off Christ, and commercializes this holiday, putting the focus on consuming, but we're called to live differently and not forget or be so busy that we neglect the TRUE reason for the season. Today I'm sharing 10 tips for how to prepare Him room, amidst our busy schedules, full plates, and all the pressures we feel to do more & have a picture-perfect Christmas. Maybe peace & joy feels impossible for you this Christmas. Maybe things feel stressful & chaotic. We want it to be a beautiful life-giving, magical time, but many of us get to the end of Christmas and feel exhausted, depleted & empty because we were pulled in so many directions & pouring ourselves out for our family & everyone else that we can't find true rest & time to slow down & savor the moments, or worried about so many things, & the holiday we envision is so different than our reality. So as the pace of our lives is likely getting faster, more hurried & frantic as we get closer to Christmas & are in the thick of final preparations & service to our families, and as we attend all the events & celebrations, let us not be in such a rush that we miss the richness of the season, and all that our Lord & Savior wants to birth within us. He is so tenderly, patiently waiting for us in the manger. He wants to fill us with His mercy & love. It doesn't matter how prepared our homes & underneath the tree is, if our souls aren't prepared to receive Christ. Will we deny Him room in the inn of our hearts, homes, & schedules, or allow Him to dwell with and in us? Did this episode speak to your heart? If so, be sure to share it with a friend to spread the love of Christ & message of hope & mercy this Christmas. ***Join in my upcoming free New Years Goal Setting with God workshop on JAN 8th! Are you a yesser? Someone who says yes to it all, overcommits and spreads themselves too thin? This is typically my style. But I'm working through learning how to say no more to the things that don't align with who I want to become and where I want to be and those things that keep me from the people I love most. Too often, the word "no" carries a negative connotation. But "no" can be a beautiful thing. It can bring peace, freedom and joy. It's ok to say, no. When we become so aligned with where we want to go in life, we must learn to use the word no so that we can make room for the right yeses when the come along. When we overstuff our lives with the wrong things - it doesn't produce more results, it just produces more stuff. And sometimes that "stuff" is heavy and weighs us down. We've all heard the saying - "Show me how you spend your time and I'll show you your priorities." Are you going all in on this one life you've got? Or, are you spinning on the hamster wheel of life going round and round? It's time to say no to the wrong things and start prioritizing your yeses so you can make room for the right things. What impact does your environment have on your creativity and productivity? Disorganisation can prevent you from quickly laying your hands on the information you need in your business or life admin. Outer order contributes to inner calm In this HerBusiness podcast episode with Suzi Dafnis and Gretchen Rubin, you’ll discover how to create the right level of outer order to suit your business and your life. "What you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while." Hear about Gretchen’s game-changing daily habits that contribute to order. Like the "One Minute Rule": Anything you can do in less than a minute, do it right away. Print out a letter and file it. Respond to an email with a quick one-paragraph reply. Deal with them as you go and you can create and maintain order, leaving room in your life for the things that make you happy. Decluttering isn’t a new concept. But it seems like the war on clutter is especially intense at the moment, thanks to Marie Kondo and others who are taking messy spaces by storm. In this episode, we’ll talk to author Gretchen Rubin about her new book, Outer Order, Inner Calm: Declutter and Organize to Make More Room for Happiness. Liz will ask Gretchen for an “office space intervention” (goodbye old power cords!) and discuss whether decluttering actually makes you more productive. Then, Liz and Rico speak to listener Robin, a teacher in Utah experiencing “compassion fatigue” after trying to be everything for her students. And in our Work Pop segment, we’ll look back on the ‘90s HBO classic, Mr. Show. Last but not least, in ongoing effort to bring you stories from people who’ve made some big changes in their work life, we’ll speak to digital strategist Candice Kilpatrick, who went from being laid off in New York to head editor for a “space lifestyle” magazine. Yes, that’s a thing. As always, if you've got a burning workplace question and need some advice, don't hesitate to send us an email (that email, unsurprisingly, is also Safe@Wondery.com). By Pastor Brandon Dirmann Scriptures (All NKJV) - Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. - 1 Timothy 2:3-4 - For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. - Acts 2:1-6 - When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. - Acts 2:41-42 - Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. - Acts 2:47 - praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. - Acts 10:34-35 - Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. - Acts 1:4 - And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; Message Points It Starts By Waiting It's Waiting Together Believing For A Corporate And A Personal Outpouring Of The Holy Spirit
By Pastor Eben Eddy Scriptures (All NKJV) - Mark 4:13-20 - And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” - Acts 2:36-42 - “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” 37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” 40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” 41Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. - Mark 4:15 - And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. - Matthew 7:24-25 - “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. - Mark 4:18-20 - Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” Message Points (Three Hearts That Hinder A Harvest) The Distracted Heart The Depthless Heart The Divided Heart (The Hinge Of The Harvest) The Devoted Heart
By Pastor Eben Eddy Scriptures (All NKJV) - Exodus 17:10-16 - So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12 But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13 So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. 14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” 15 And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner; 16 for he said, “Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” - Proverbs 17:17 - A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.
