Mark Demayo is on the show and one of the OG's of New York comedy, from retired cop to club regular, he's been seen putting together 20 years of experience on the job and in entertainment with his critically acclaimed One Man Show “20 & Out”; performing on Showtime, Last Comic Standing, and Comedy Central; acting on CBS, NBC, and Optimum's The Unmovers; and weekly on Police Off The Cuff's “The Week in Crime”, this week on Episode 127.
Mark starts off this fast paced episode talking about his desire to ride solo, "solo patrol" no guest this week. Mark mentions that it's been a goal of his that he has chickened out on several times, calling friends at the last minute to sit in. Luckily Mark took the chance and didn't make any last minute calls this week because its a wonderful episode. Mark starts off the show talking about his Fourth of July at a secret NYC beach where the women go topless. Mark follows the funny intro with a story about two different things he noticed the last time he was at the NYPD Police Academy mind and it affects recruiting. Mark talks about the new physical fitness requirements for recruits. Is it really important for young Cops to be in shape? Them Mark dives in to mind blowing story of a NYC Bodega Clerk who is sitting on Rikers Island Jail held on 250K bail for killing an irate customer who dared to come behind the deli's counter to assault the Clerk. It's just more evidence that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is working to destroy NYC. Fear of being indicted himself the father of the Parkland Mass Shooter Robert Crime II is distancing himself from co-signing for sons gun purchase. Great actor James Can has passed away. A tribute to Detroit Police Officer Loren Court who was ambushed and killed responding to a shots fired call. A Brittany Griner update. Mark closes the show with a film review of the new Elvis movie. It's a great episode. Although Mark prefers chatting with guest he can definitely go "solo patrol" and never lose a beat or a laugh.
Guest Criminal Defense Attorney Joe Murray
Guest Michael Alcazar is a retired NYPD Detective, Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and frequent Fox News contributor. Tonights episode starts off with breaking news of another mass shooting. This one taking place in Maryland inside of Smithsburg manufacturing facility. Three dead one hurt, including a shootout out between the responding Sheriff and the shooter. The reality of "gun control". NYC Mayor Eric Adams talks a little to much but he's our only hope right now. Theres a nice moment where Mark tells the story of how Mike changed his life. Its another interesting, fast paced and funny episode.
Scott Baker is a former NYC Police Officer. After having to take an early retirement because of line of duty injury he moved to Hollywood to become an actor. After acquiring his Screen Actors Guild card he moved back to New York and built his second career. Scott is also a great Improv Comedian and is one half of the Baker & Mark comedy team. This is a funny episode and flies by. Loaded with Terrific insight into both professions. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/otcpod1/support
Frank Failla is a retired NYPD Sgt. who started his career with the NYPD being assigned to the busiest Precinct during one of the busiest times in NYC to be a Cop. Over 100 homicides a year in a Precinct that was only two miles long. After Frank retired he started performing Stand Up Comedy and acting and is working his way up the ladder. Mark and Franks share an interesting and funny look into working as a Cop and being funny. The episode fly's by. Which is a sign that these two could probably continue talking for another hour. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/otcpod1/support

The first episode of Police Off The Cuff. Bill Cannon and Mark DeMayo introduce themselves and talk about their time on the force.
Fun episode with Mark Demayo. Mark and I hang out a lot in the LOL green room and he’s always got great life insights and good stories from being an NYPD detective. In this episode, Mark gives us the inside scoop on police quotas, DUI checkpoints, how to handle police interactions and more. The first 6 minutes are some news stuff with crappy audio and then it’s the conversation with Mark.

The Red Light Podcast is comprised of Christine Meehan, Ricki Sofer, Gina Savage and Tiffany Collado. The four women found themselves thrust together each week in the subterranean underbelly of the Greenwich Village Comedy Club discussing comedy (go figure), comedians, pop culture, men, sex, politics, love, life...and death. A natural, flowing rapport developed; with each woman bringing her own unique background, perspective and experience to the subject matter. It was mutually decided to take these weekly conversations to a wider forum. The result is The Red Light podcast which features all of the above topics and special guests (with special needs :) ). Our Bios: Christine Meehan is a stand-up and sketch comedian who got her start telling jokes in funky smelling rooms in Philadelphia. Now living in New York, Christine now has a serious fear of hookers, germs, and her mother. Despite these fears, she has written, produced and starred such sketch comedies as Akin to Rape & Paula's Pimpin' Pantry. A child of severely Republican parents, Christine had quite the proper small-town, conservative upbringing in Delaware but has been a contributor for the severely liberal Borderless News and Views. Her mom hates that. Joe Biden might think she has special needs. Christine has been seen at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and clubs all over New York City. She only truly finds magic while blowing her shoulders out coaching really large children gymnastics because God took her too literally when she asked to uplift America's youth. She hopes one day 'Merica will change, and stop eating entirely. Ricki Sofer is a stand up comedian currently living in New York City. Ricki started her comedy career in Los Angeles and has performed at the Hollywood Improv, Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, Ha Ha club & The Ice House Comedy club. She has written her own column for Shavua Israeli- the most recognized Jewish mag in LA. Originally from Israel, Ricki is a graduate of Emek Izrael Film School and served in the Israeli military police in a special unit which allowed her to wear her own pink clothing line instead of the dreadful army uniform. She speaks English with a pretty good American accent, which confuses her audience, until her world views make it clear that she's definitely not from here. She talks about life situations that most people never encounter and definitely don't want to. Comparing where she came from to living in La La Land made her realize how an American life makes for a really good joke. Gina Savage is an actress, comic, producer & talent manager with a rich history in the entertainment business. Beginning in 1996 , she served as an assistant to Caroline Hirsch and Louis Faranda at Carolines. From there, she was recruited by Barry Katz to book and manage his highly regarded Boston Comedy Club. Later, Savage ventured into television production; working on reality shows "The Apprentice" and "The Contender". Today, Savage manages Al Martin's Broadway Comedy Club, Greenwich Village Comedy Club and New York Comedy Club. In her spare time (what spare time?) this native new yorker enjoys going to museums, walks in the park, strolls on the beach, Dalai Lama quotes and your undivided attention. Tiffany Collado may appear small and non-threatening, but challenge her to anything dealing with comedy and she's sure to shut most anyone down with her knowledge of the biz. Being a huge comedy fan and a waitress in the business for 5 years she's now chosen to pursue comedy herself. Her demeanor is aggressive, but that just stems from short bitch problems. Meh.
