Welcome to Season 4 of The Music in Me! We're kicking things off with a deep dive into the 2026 Grammy Awards, and I couldn't be more excited. In this episode, I break down all the Song of the Year and Album of the Year nominees—talking about what the songs and albums are about, why they resonated with listeners, standout themes, and my honest reactions. I also share my personal picks, gush about the songs and albums I'm obsessed with (yes, “Golden” made the cut!), and talk about why this year's music lineup is so special. Whether you're a die-hard Grammy fan, a music lover, or just looking for a fun recap, this episode has something for you. Send us a textMusic videos used to be the way we got to “see” our favorite artists—and when it comes to Garth, those videos were basically another stage. In this episode, Deb, Pete, and Jess kick off their review of the Ultimate Hits DVD inside the Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences box set, starting with the first three videos: “Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old),” “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” and “The Dance.”Along the way, we get sentimental (and a little nostalgic) about how hard it can be to find Garth's videos in 2026, why it matters even more when he isn't performing regularly, and how these clips feel like time capsules back to “baby Garth” and the early days. Expect laughs about wild old-school transitions, love for the band's long history, and some real feelings when we hit “The Dance.”What is YOUR favorite Garth Brooks music video?? KILLA. Whilst he's now in his talking head era - like most rappers it seems - Cam'ron was an ever-present voice in the 00s Hip-Hop scene. One could say his music is the perfect charting of where the 00s sound was at any given year, with his lyrical content staying steady in the good ol' "Money, hoes & drugs" bag.TIMESTAMPS:Weekly Music Roundup - (1:14)Ben:A$AP ROCKY - Don't Be DumbCharlie:Jada Freeman - THE WAY LOVE GOESBXKS - FEAR OF ECLIPSESamm Henshaw - Could Be WorseA$AP ROCKY - Don't Be DumbTopic Intro/Ben's research House - (8:21)Confessions of Fire - (14:48)S.D.E. - (19:55)Come Home with Me - (25:23)Purple Haze - (31:30)Killa Season - (38:30)Crime Pays - (43:59)Purple Haze 2 - (49:06)Lighter Note - (57:35)Thanks for listening. Before Bad Bunny takes the stage at the Super Bowl, Pop Pantheon is exploring the career and work of another trailblazing Puerto Rican superstar, Ricky Martin. Nuria Net joins Louie to dig into Ricky's origins as a boy bander turned soap star. The two discuss the music Ricky made with Menudo, his solo debut, and his global breakthrough with 1995's “Maria.” From there, they break down how an explosive performance of “La Copa de la Vida” broke Ricky to English-speaking audiences, unpack the global phenomenon of “Livin' la Vida Loca," and explore how Ricky's 1999 self-titled album and 2000's Sound Loaded launched the so-called "latin explosion" of the turn of the century. Finally, Louie and Nuria highlight Ricky's later period output including his continued Spanish language music, his coming out, and finally, rank Ricky Martin in the official Pop Pantheon. Part II of my year-end review of pop music across 2025 tackles Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco's 'I Said I Love You First,' Miley Cyrus with 'Something Beautiful,' and Demi Lovato's 'It's Not That Deep.' All three acts shared similar experiences in the earlier halves of their music careers, and this episode discusses the parallels shared between these artists in 2025. For Selena Gomez, I'll be diving into the couples branding behind her work with Benny Blanco, and how both the singles and campaign may be a mismatch for the album's core. On 'It's Not That Deep,' I'll be going through the recent album and how the singles may have prevented the album from reaching its full potential, and how Demi's dance effort is her most ambitious to date. Plus, how does Miley's new album stack up next to 'Can't Be Tamed,' 'She Is Coming,' 'Endless Summer Vacation,' or 'Plastic Hearts?' Let me know your thoughts as well.

Omri Rolan joins Pop Pantheon to unpack the ups and many, many, many downs of girl grouper turned solo pop flop Nicole Scherzinger. Louie and Omri dig into Nicole's origins on the reality show Popstars, her first hit with Eden's Crush, “Get Over Yourself,” and her road to The Pussycat Dolls. From there, they discuss the string of unsuccessful singles that led to her first solo album being shelved permanently, her eventual Red One-assisted 2011 album Killer Love, 2014's tepidly received Big Fat Lie and Nicole's unlikely comeback as a prestige stage star.
