Brian interviews Jaime Watt. Jaime is the best-selling author of the new book What I Wish I Said, a collection of his most thought-provoking Toronto Star from the past six years... but with a twist. After each column, Jaime responds with what he wishes he'd said. It's a candid and humorous look at recent times and, in this unique collection, Jaime presents fresh political insight and pulls no punches in critiquing his previous opinions and beliefs. When he's not penning a column for the Toronto Star and writing a best-selling book he is the Chairman of Navigator Ltd., Canada's leading high-stakes strategic advisory firm that he founded in 2000.
“When you can't afford to lose” is not just Navigator's trademarked slogan; it's also its core business proposition. Although it offers a range of services, from market research to communications, Navigator is best known as the firm to which Canada's rich and powerful turn when facing a crisis that could cost them that wealth and power. Its highest-profile clients have included Michael Bryant and Jian Ghomeshi. More recently, it's been a player in the controversies around Hockey Canada, the Special Rapporteur on Foreign Interference, and the Ottawa Police response to the convoy occupation. Bit by bit, we've gotten more insight into the work they do behind the scenes to — as one observer once put it to the Toronto Star — change your perceptions without you even knowing it.On today's episode, host Jesse Brown and news editor Jonathan Goldsbie offer a primer on the company that's been a common thread running through many of the biggest Canadian news stories of the past 15 years.Host: Jesse BrownCredits: Jonathan Goldsbie (News Editor), Tristan Capacchione (Audio Editor and Technical Producer), Bruce Thorson (Senior Producer), Annette Ejiofor (Managing Editor), Karyn Pugliese (Editor-in-Chief)Further information:Why Should I Choose You? They believe their friendship is a great example of what we need more of, listening to others and friendship across the political divides. As a Liberal I'm honoured to participate. My panelists are: - Marcella Munro is a Principal with McMillan Vantage Policy Group. She is a former journalist and has been working in public affairs and communications strategy and consulting for 15+ years. Marcella worked in NDP political circles, and specifically for the BCNDP and Alberta NDP and as well she worked closely with former Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson.- Tasha Kheiriddin is a principal with Navigator Ltd., Canada's leading high stakes advisory and communications firm. She is the national political columnist for the Postmedia chain of newspapers where she writes weekly on political and current affairs issues. She also lectures at the Max Bell School of Public Policy at McGill University and serves as Vice President of the Canadian Centre for the Purpose of the Corporation.

Since they have been introduced, COVID-19 vaccines have been seen as the ticket out of the pandemic. But as the delta variant takes hold in Canada, and second-dose uptake slows, debate has grown around whether we should introduce vaccine passports, as has been done elsewhere.

From a lockdown to a shutdown and now a province-wide stay-at home order, it's been hard to keep up with the pandemic restrictions in Ontario. Especially as they seem to be changing by the day.

And, could this be why Canada has struggled when it comes to securing a good amount of doses of the Pfizer vaccine? Tasha Kheiriddin, Principal at Navigator Ltd. and Columnist for the National Post provides her take. Chapter 4 The opposition to Indigenous land acknowledgements We hear it at every presser with Dr. Henry and Adrian Dix, as they thank the Indigenous people whose land they are speaking on. So, why are Richmond and Surrey so opposed to this practice? Chief Terry Teegee, Regional Chief of the B.C. Assembly of First Nations, joins us for a conversation. Chapter 5 What a woman of colour as VP means Here locally, we've elected many bright young and empowered women of colour to hold leadership positions. With Kamala-Harris as the new VP, we talk about what this represents. First with Annamie Paul, Leader of the Green Party of Canada.
