But few have nailed all three elements quite as well over the last three decades as this week's guest on the show.Blueprint is James Ruskin's label - an absolute foundation of UK techno, and techno generally it should be said, with seminal releases from the likes of DVS1, Mark Broom, Oliver Ho, Sigha, as well as the boss himself. It will soon be celebrating 30 years of releases, which is a pretty incredible achievement. As a producer he's released prolifically outside his own imprint, most notably via an association with Tresor that goes back to the 90s. And as a DJ he's been a key part of the UK scene and beyond for at least that long too.We discuss familiar themes such as the state of the scene today, the comparative challenges of releasing music over a thirty year period, the evolution of his approach to work in the studio, amongst a lot of other stuff besides. This is a great conversation with an absolute key man. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/radio-4g-valladolid/message

Long standing Dublin based imprint Apartment Records celebrate 10 years of music this month, as they release their thirteenth record, featuring the return of NCW, 8 years after his first Apartment Records EP. NCW is a west London producer now based in Belgrade, Serbia. Originally associated with the west London techno scene of the early / mid 00s that included artists such as Oliver Ho & Max Duley, has since kept a low profile, choosing instead to pop up from time to time on Dublin's Apartment Records and Ali Renault's Vivod imprint with his skewered take on house and techno. To celebrate ten years of Apartment Records, the label fondly welcomes back NCW for his first 12" in eight years. Tripped out, Leftfield techno with enough kick drum to feed a family of 4 for a month, featuring estranged choirs, disembodied Italo vox and the MGM lion. Once you've checked out our premiere, you can support the artist and label by picking up the full release via the BUY link, which directs you to the laels Bandcamp page here. Warsaw's analog techno maverick Jurek Przeździecki (b.1973) is one of the more powerful and uncompromising voices in former Eastern Bloc electronic music scene. Bred throughout the 90s on a varied diet of first wave techno, new beat and post-industrial mutants like SPK or Psychic TV, he developed his own vision of highly intricate and detailed yet definitely danceable, funked-up techno for connoisseurs of the genre. Actively involved in producing music for two decades plus, he started his career in world-touring Bigwigs, later to release his solo and collaborative stuff on such labels as Cocoon, Whirlpoolsex, Synewave Records, Recognition, Nachtstrom Schallplatten or Affin. His productions were appraised and played out by numerous DJ/producer heavyweights including Laurent Garnier, Oliver Ho, Joey Beltram and DJ Hell, while Depeche Mode's Martin Gore included Jurek's track in band's tour DJ set. Currently, he recorded two quite successful EPs with Jacek Sienkiewicz as a duo Tumult Hands. He's been also quite busy focusing on his long-running Epi Centrum project whose LP will be out on Damon Wild's Synewave Records soon. He devotes most of his time to studying arcanes of deep composition and researching the possibilities of various legendary studio gears, such as Buchla's modular Morton Subotnick-designed System 200e. Lives and works in Warsaw. // Gliese 3293 c > DF-18 // Incoming transmission: Broken English Club roken English Club is a project by Oliver Ho that explores the “dark friction” between man and machine. It has spawned two albums, most recently June’s The English Beach on L.I.E.S., which soundtracked the desolate scenes of his surroundings with eerie experimental techno. Heavy on apocalyptic synths and doom laden drums, and occasionally run through with melodic optimism, it’s a brilliant testament to Ho’s evocative studio skills after ten years of making more straight up techno as Raudive. Elements of EBM and industrial come into focus on the album, as they do in the mix he has put together for us. In just over an hour, plenty of angular grooves, slapping drums and cold, chilly metallic surfaces unfold in dystopian fashion. Starting off sparse and menacing with French vocals and synths which survey the landscape, eventually the machines take over and grow ever more wild so that you end up in a dehumanised world of reverb, manic pixelated melodies and whirring lines that have a life of their own.

Late 1999 I descended the steps into a murky basemment whose walls were slick with sweat and vibrated with the incessant rap of a four four beat somewhere in the realm of 135 to 140bpms. At the foot of the stairs the bar lined the left side of the wall, whilst scattered chairs and stools occupied the right hand side of the passage. Ahead lay the barely visible dancefloor. Amongst the spewing action of the smoke machine, limbs writhed and contorted like a Chris Cunningham video. A red strobe light cut geometric patterns into the haze and the sweet/sickly stench of hash and weed fought for their hierarchy amongst body odour and spilt beer. Ecstatic screams and aggressive, yet high pitched shouts of pleasure somehow placed themselves above the frenetic frequencies that filled my ears and mind. Tribal drums, scything hi-hats and cymbals and that unrelenting four to the floor beat poured over me, drenched me and elevated me above the temporal here and know. Physically and spiritually I was undergoing a life changing and life affirming transformation - nothing would be the same again. That was my first experience of Voodoo in Liverpool, UK one of the premier Techno nights that ran in Britain. James Ruskin was on the ones and twos and I was to see him play again over the following years at the Orbit in Leeds and Atomic Jam in Birmingham to name but two. Week in, week out I went all over the UK following this sound and the purveyors of this music. Lost in London, House of God in Birmingham, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Space DJz, Oliver Ho, Robert Hood, DJ Rush, Regis, Surgeon, Claude Young and many, many more. Following their examples I got myself decks and a mixer (and an healthy appetite for buying vinyl) and attempted to create those moments of musical magic and bliss in the confines of my bedroom. Like an acolyte of the occult and magick, my pentagrams, melted candles and burnt offerings were the platters of 1210s and the faders of a Pioneer DJM600 with an apparently never ending supply of virgin vinyl. And so, 16 years later I find myself still in the confines of my 'bedroom' attempting to conjure up the Techno spirits of yore, but 1210s have transmogrified into a Traktor S4 and black circles of wax have become files of flac and 320 - yet still I like to believe that the essence and dynamism has remained:, that ability of instigating emotions and memories and rejuvenating the dark beauty of that thing we know and love called Techno. Words by the man himself, Phuriphnics. Head to www.bomphcast.com for track listing. @phuriphonics http://phuriphonics.blogspot.com.au/

Space DJz (UK) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 41 Pt. 2 Bio: Real name / Space Djz Moniker(s) / Ben Long & Jamie Bissmire Ever since the pair's formation in the early 1900's their unerring ability to fuse raucous techno with their life long love of Hip Hop, has set them aside from there peers. In the present day, an abundance of UK techno producer's have emerged, none would deny The Space Djz are true innovators. In 1995 the duo released their debut Ep Space DJz on the legendary and now defunked Infonet imprint, quickly followed up by an outing on the Belgium label Reload These two projects put them on the techno map but the real turning point arrived in early 1996 on Infonet with the release of the ..Return to earth', Ep, containing the techno anthems ..Side on', and ..Rock the house'.Both trakz would blow up to be huge and be re-released via Frankfurt based Ongaku .The combined output of both releases was over 10,000 copies and along side Dave Clarks Red 1 these were two of the biggest tunez of the year and are still much sought after and played to this day. The Djz became prize catches for major playerz Nova Mute and Soma contributing several more classic releases, culminating in 1999's critically acclaimed album ..On Patrol`. The album expressed Ben and Jamie's roots perfectly, combining their now infamous hip hop influences with their unique brand of analog techno and chaotic electronic soundscapes. Later that year The Space Djz delivered a trak that was to become one of their biggest hitz to date AK 47 a trak that had originally been heard on a Nova Mute Compilaton was reworked and served to capture the period's riotus spirit of techno. Listening to that record, one would imagine was like being attacked with a chainsaw buy an electronic chicken, simply brutal. It was released as a double pack on Ben Long's highly regarded Potential Recordingz and featured remixes by many of techno's biggest namez including Umek, The Advent, Gaetano Parisio, Oliver Ho, Inigo Kennedy, Chris McCormack. During 2001 Ben and Jamie also able to concentrate on their solo projects working with labels such as Consumer Recreation, CLR, Primate, PrimeEvil, Tortured, Advanced, Eukatech, Speilzeug, and the running of their own labelz Potential Recordingz, Ergonomix, ReRub , 50hz, Ground, Foundation and Target. Jamie also released a Bandulu album Redemption with Music Man. 2002 saw the welcome return of The Space Djz on Blly Nasty's Tortured imprint with the Faces of Pain double pack, their first release together in almost two years, and a double mix Cd was released on Primal Rythms entitled The Last Djz on Earth. They were back and they were better then ever. During this time, and indeed long before, The Space Djz have been renowned the world over for their breathtaking skillz behind the deckz. Whether working as a team or individually, Ben and Jamie consistently deliver astounding performances .. Dj' ing to them is an art, and with over ten yearz on the world Dj circuit they have the knowledge and experience to rock any party right ... Tracklist: 01. Jeff MIlls - The Power 02. For some years now, Bristol's under_score crew have been flying the flag for deep techno flavours in the city, putting on parties with guests such as Sleeparchive, Claro Intelecto and Errorsmith, and showing plenty of love too for the dubstep/techno crossover currently blossoming (Bristol pioneer Pinch performed at under_score alongside Manchester's Andy Stott earlier this year).   High quality guests aside, under_score's position on the local scene has been firmly cemented by way of core residents Microman (aka one half of Emptyset), Luke Malcher and Jim Petherwick — and Jim has kindly put together this exclusive mix for Spannered, which gives an excellent introduction to the under_score sound.   Tracklisting: Tony Allen — Ole (Moritz von Oswald remix) Claude Vonstroke — Who's Afraid of Detroit?
